Two words best to describe Serpent In White; Deliciously Divine. I had so many holy moly moments, and this book is nothing at all what Nyla has ever written. Here is what I love about this book:

*Cult Vibes

*Abdiel. He is such a sweet man with a heart of gold. He stole my heart.

*Darian and Drake, The King and Serpent. Both handsome, angsty, and with a rare love. Both are very complex.

*Spicy, mm, mmm, mmmf, my lady parts went into overdrive.

*No detail left out; Nyla K. wrote a magical world that you want to stay in.

*How the book made me think, especially with that ending.

*Overall, a fantastic retelling of White Snake.

As always, it’s best to go in blind and have an open mind. Not only does this book open your mind, but it makes you think. Combine these and it gives you a better experience. My emotions were all over the place with this book, and I am one hot mess at the moment. All these characters share a special and unique bond, with a love that is so beautiful.

I can’t forget to talk about Rhiannon; she is a sweet young woman, with a traumatic story. I wanted to hug the girl and adopt her as my own. As much as I love all the characters and each one is complex and maybe some more than others, I love Drake. He is broken, highly intelligent, and dominant. I could feel all his emotions; I am always more drawn to a character like his.

Sorry, my review is vague and for a reason, as I don't want to give away any spoilers. If you want a book with dark undertones and that will blow your socks off, Serpent In White is a must-read for you.

90ca45e7e7c6ddfa7f3d6d91a5f154bd-1-3-1 This had been popping up on my newsfeeds EVERYWHERE..#Oneclicked release day because I couldn't help myself.

So ummmmm #colourmeblind I'm not a virgin to the MM genre but didn't expect it to come at me unexpectedly lol 🙈 I thought it was your normal run of the mill vanilla M/F 🤣God I really need to read blurbs and not just go off and #oneclick because of the cover!! Or maybe even read people's tags lol

BUT...

God once I'd fallen down that rabbit hole of hotness I couldn't stop reading even if I tried, this was so unexpectedly unique, and had so many elements I love within my books. So this was kind of an easy rating to give, ticked so many boxes. I loved the element of surprise this threw at me, that forbidden feeling of hoping they wouldn't get caught, stepping into the unknown wilderness of mystery which lurks up the mountain, the community cultish life, living off the land off the grid.

This won't be a few peeps cup of tea, but take that step out of your comfort zones read something out of the norm and like me you might be surprised and end up loving it.

I don't think you could find anything that even comes close to this book which made me wonder what kind of kool-aid this author was drinking whilst writing this book.

*** I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.***
One of the most unique and experimental stories I have ever read. Quite an experience. Serpent in White is a story that drops you into a world that is familiar to our own, but also not. There are many psychological aspects to this story that was completely foreign, but also familiar at the same time.

Serpent in White features relationships between a King his servant, an alchemist, and a princess. All of whom have their own kingdom-related identity while remaining completely grounded in our modern world. I was so shocked at the reality of the situation between the main characters and their intertwined dynamics in relation to one another.

My favorite aspect was the brothers and their bond with each other which was often unhealthy, but remaining completely devoted to one another. I also enjoyed their different relationship with the servant. He really is the spark to their relationship that is completely unexpected.

Serpent in White is best read going in blind because you are able to fully immerse yourself into this world, its fascinating characters, and unique perspective on many current-day issues and struggles. Including many mental health struggles and how they affect your ability to function.

Once again this author knocks this story out of the park and I could not put this unique story down. I was fully immersed in this unique world and loved her original take on a classic Grimm Brothers Fairytale. This is a haunting story that leaves you with any questions, which is one of my favorite aspects.

SPOILERS (and a long recap of the story)
1.5 Stars

Egh. Not gonna lie, I'm pretty pissed off after that ending🙄 the first 70-75% of this book was pretty solid, not the best, but entertaining and unique enough to read on. Then the last 15% hits and the "f" part of the mmmf equation finally comes in and screws it all up and made me dislike this book more and more.

Anyways, I don't really want to go into everything because a lot of stuff happens in the book, so imma just say what I disliked about it and the details surrounding it since the blurb is so vague. The book starts with Darian being the "king" of this weird cult (I do feel like the story could have uses more deets about the cult) He's gay through and through but is married to 5 other women (only one he's sorta had "sex" with to try it out, but it didn't work out). Then there is Drake, who is Darian's former foster brother and lover/drug provider. These two are lovers but Drake also has sex with other women (it's been a year though), and Darian has only been with Drake, a previous lover, and his father dad who raped him.

Drake was the first person Darian has been with (willingly), and he was the first man Drake has been with (not sure abt women) but Drake has a habit of pushing Darian away and being the "darker" one of the two. Before they started the cult, Drake had left Darian and Darian took a lover who was married (in an open relationship). Well that couple ended up being the parents to the third mm(m)f, Abdiel.

So, 75% of this story is Drake and Darian obviously being in love but pushing each other away and Drake manipulating Darian to help push himself away (such as convincing him to get married and have a baby). I actually really liked these two and this story would have been a lot better if they were endgame. Then the third hero comes in pretty early, they all start messing around with each other and having sex and doing drugs, and making each other jealous, but they are all in love with each other. I didn't feel like the love between them all was equal though, and I hate how it felt like he was taking the spotlight off of Drake, who was probably my favorite despite his issues. I let it go though because I did feel like he was helping to bring them together a bit.

There were flashbacks scattered throughout all of this to give us details on how they meet, their awakenings and progressions, and events such as how the cult started, etc... I felt pretty confused for some of them because the flashbacks weren't in order and were inserted at weird times. Also, the whole psychedelic drugs they take and the whole mind reading and rock thing was weird AF but I don't want to get into that.

Anyways, the story is basically them coming together, their relationships building, jealousy, and just little side events, nothing too big. About 70ish% in, Abdiel goes to the mountain to try to find out more about his parents, meets the suicidal Rhiannon, kisses her and starts to have feelings for her (while he supposedly loves Darian so much). Rhiannon apparently falls in love with him too (it's literally only been two days 🙄). Abdiel takes her back to the cult, shows her around and Drake's drugs, Rhiannon then goes psycho and starts to yell at everyone that they're in a cult and hates Darian.

Darian throws her in jail, Drake starts to feel something for her I guess? I'm super confused on the progression of her relationships with them from here on out actually. She ends up sneaking some of the drug, stuff happens, her and Darian have a heart to heart conversation, then out of the blue she thinks Darian is so amazing and everyone is so in love with each other all of a sudden and the guys thinks she's the glue to all their relationships and I'm just like... Wtf is happening here 😵 they literally just met her and shes the end all for them. This was the weirdest insta love and insertion of a "MC" EVER.

Then the kicker happens. They all have sex once, then SHE DIES. She literally was only in the story for like 15%, so I don't know WHY this story is marketed as MMMF. She was such a pointless addition to the series and I feel like she was only in it as a scapegoat for the MCs to finally be really together, and what a way to make the story end on a low note. They have a funeral for her and make some weird comments about how she'll always be a part of them and blah and this story was just hitting rock bottom at this time, the end.

Not only did I dislike Rhiannon, but she just ruined the story for me. No chemistry, was insta love, cheesy and cliche dialogue and events, and I was just getting more and more annoyed because she was just ruining the relationships of the three guys, and I hate how when they talk about her and act like they knew her for years and was the love of their lives and it literally just made no sense at all. She is NOT on equal ground to Darian and Drakes relationship, and it annoyed me sm that they made it seem like she was on equal level to how Darian and Drake are to each other and their years together.

What makes it worse, is the author writes several pages trying to explain why some things were written as they were, and imo, if you need to make that long of an explanation to try to change the reader's perception of everything, something is wrong with the story. The author goes on talking about how the story is based off of a German tale to defend Rhiannon basically, and how the biggest thing she wanted to convey was polyamorous relationships and how they aren't supposed to be equal and I'm just like 🤦 adding a character into the story for five minutes, essentially ruining it, does nothing to rep poly relationships or show us this different sides to one when SHE WAS ONLY IN IT FOR FIVE MINUTES. This is NOT MMMF, and shouldn't be advertised as one. I have more to say but this is taking too much of my time, so rant over😤

2 Stars because, again, I liked the first 70% decently. Would have been 3 stars if Rhiannon never appeared.

I usually take my time with Nyla books because they always wear me out (in the best way, obviously).
Yet with this story, more than ever, I've needed time to digest all those emotions.

You see, she lures us in with the promises of sinful stories, and they really are, but they are also so much more.
The deepness of the feelings you face reading her books is unbelievable!!
Even sex isn’t just sex with her...
It is interlaced with so many  emotions.

But with Serpent In White she took all that above to another level!!

I don't really know how to explain it, but the dark-magical-vibes she give us in this story are just phenomenal!!
It really is a fairy tale: so intriguing and addictive that I still think about it after several days....
It push your boundaries while forcing you to pay attention to every single details 'cause every action, every word, everything has a purpose... everything gonna lead you to THAT end.

So, without giving too much away, what you gonna find in this book?

A commune that believe in Mother Earth, where everything is beautiful and good, but evil hides in a corner ready to strike, because nature is also balance....

An unconventional love.

Four complex characters whose destinies are bonded together, who share a "magical" love.
Four characters Mother has a specific plan for...

Darian, Drake, Abdiel, Rhyannon.
The Lion, the Serpent, the Little Mouse, the Kitten.
The King, the Alchemist, the Young Servant, the Stray.

Drake is the one who owns my heart: his pain made me sheer more than few tears....
But all of them have something special that made this story unforgettable:
Drake and his self-imposed sacrifice and loneliness;
Darian and his crave for love;
Abdiel and his big kind heart;
Rhyannon and her role as
catalyst of a life-change.

All of them have been through some kind of trauma/pain, but together they were reborn.

"𝑬𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒊𝒔 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒏𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒆𝒅.
𝑬𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒉𝒂𝒔 𝒂 𝒑𝒐𝒊𝒏𝒕.
𝑫𝒆𝒂𝒕𝒉.
𝑹𝒆𝒃𝒊𝒓𝒕𝒉.
𝑻𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒔𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒎𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏.
𝑬𝒄𝒅𝒚𝒔𝒊𝒔".

What else there is to say?!
Just give Serpent In White a chance, brace yourself for a mindblowing ride and let it open your mind.

Deep in the Empyrean forest… Nothing stays hidden.

As a part of the Twisted Tales Collection Nyla K gave us her version of the Grimm Brother's Classic The White Snake with Serpent in White and let me tell you this was quite the tale.

I grew up reading the Grimm Brother's stories which are dark and depraved in their own right but Nyla K literally destroyed not only emotions with this story, but she blew my mind. The way she weaved such an intricate story while also making the idea of their "cult" seem rather appealing from the way that they live to the way that they worship.

Honestly, I don't know what to say with this review because I think going in blind to this story is the best way to go. I've said that before and I have meant it, but I have never meant it more than with this story because if you go in with any kind of an idea as to what this story is going to be you will be wrong.

Abdiel was pure of heart with so much love that there was no way you could not love him and appreciate all the ways that he gave to both the King and the Serpent.

Darian our King was a bit of an.... Rubik's Cube would be the best way I could describe it. When all the pieces are there even if they are a bit jumbled you think that you can still see the whole picture forming but you can't. One small move can change the way the rest of cube looks and to me that was entirely Darian.

Drake, The Alchemist AKA our Serpent was the one that broke my heart, shattered it and wrecked it but I still loved him whole heartedly from start to finish. Everything he did from the very beginning was for his brother and his family. His ideas about himself were completely skewed but that me more endeared to him.

Then finally our Princess, Rhiannon. She was the glue, the ultimate all the way to the end. This story would not have gone the way it did without her and for that I love her entirely.

OK yeah, this review is kind of just my thoughts on how much I loved it and the main characters but that is all you are getting from me. Head the triggers, but dive into this book whole heartedly because it will shock you, surprise you and might even have you thinking more after the story is over than while you were reading it.

Nyla K has become one of my favorite authors this year and now I truly know that she is a mistress of words and weaves the most beautiful stories you will ever encounter. Trust me on this, you want to read about the Serpent, the little mouse, and their King.

“Nothing is perfect, shy of our Mother Earth. The Principality understands that. We cherish it, the imperfections of the world. The natural balance.”

Serpent in White by Nyla K is part of the Twisted Tales collection and is a retelling of the Grimm’s Fairy Tale story, The White Snake. I had never heard of the old fairy tale before reading this so I googled a quick summary. I thought it was really interesting how Nyla took this strange story and twisted it into something new and fresh.

Serpent in White is the story of the King, The Alchemist, The Servant ( or Prince) and the Princess. Each of these characters are so very different and complex and they all serve a purpose to this story. I wont say much about the plot because it’s kind of one of those stories you should just dive into and experience for yourself. All you really need to know is it’s about a cult and a polyamorous relationship.

These relationships are very messy. There is jealousy, resentment, secrets, and manipulation. You’re not going to get an easy, smooth romance with these characters and I kind of liked that a lot about the story. My favourite thing about Nyla K’s books are that they never fit into this perfect box, but what you are going to get is an intense and powerful love story.

“Worship me, boy, for I am your King.”

I have to say of all the characters, Abdiel was by far my favourite. I’m always a sucker for the soft one and that sweet boy just deserved so much love. He played a very vital role in this story and I already miss him. We’ve also got our King who is hiding his true self from his followers (or family, as they call it) and Drake, with his serpent eyes, who purposely keeps himself wrapped in barbed wire so no one gets too close. There’s also Rhiannon who comes in later in the story but still plays a very pivotal role.

I actually did not expect that this story was going to make me cry but it did and I felt like I was in a complete emotional hangover once I finished it! It’s an odd, complex and steamy story and I highly recommend it if you’re interested in cults, poly romance or stories full of secrets. I ended up giving it 4 stars because I did find it dragged in a few spots but I still really enjoyed it.

"You're a temptation I don't need..."

Well, I'll keep this short and sweet. Serpent in White is based on the dark fairy tale The Brothers Grimm. As soon as I saw the blurb for it, I had to read it, as I have come to love this author's work.

I massively loved the first half of this book. I have an obsession with cults and cult life and I couldn't put it down. We are on Abdiel's journey along with him as he navigates his daily life there. I loved the forbidden aspects of the story with Darian/Abdiel/Drake. Like, seriously, I could've read like 700 more pages of all of THAT.

"This could be a giant mistake... One there's no possible way I could stop myself from making."

It was during the second half of this book that the story, unfortunately, went off the rails a bit for me. I wasn't a big fan of where the story went after that, and the direction it took. I found the execution to be messy and confusing at times. Sadly, I think this one just missed its mark, at least with me.

This author is still one of my absolute favorites and I will still devour her work again.

I received an e-ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Well this might ACTUALLY be the craziest book I’ve read. My mind was all over the place with everything that transpired here. As usual I went into this blind bc I trust Nyla like that, I hear MMM, Poly, cult in the woods and was sold. This story is a retelling of the White Snake by Brothers Grimm, if that means something to you then great. I however had no idea what that was so I expected nothing and enjoyed the ride 1000%

This follows the story of 3 men 2 of which are foster brothers, they moved to the woods in search of a better life and ended up forming an entire community, a cult if you will & our third Abdiel the domestic and the glue that’ll change their lives.

This book was a mind trip from start to finish. There are so many interesting elements to this story that I ATE TF UP okay. Majority of the time I was like omg.. OMG.. OH MY GOD.. It was spooky, smutty, forbidden, filthy, swoony and achy all at the same. I was in my feels the entire time. Heart & kitty butterflies bitch.

The dynamic between these 3 was addicting and I couldn’t get enough. The push and pull between Darian & Drake for power, dominance and submission MY GOD adding in Abdiel who just wants to love on them and be a good little servant, I’d even go as far as calling him the glue.

There are some very heavy topics discussed in this book such as SA, rape, and some drug use. Also this is about a cult in the woods so it dabbles with religion so be aware of that. I myself grew up in a Christian household and I found myself questioning so many things it was eye opening but in a very good way and of course duh this is fiction. My only wish was that the ending was a bit different. I loved this world and these characters let me find out I can actually find this cult and join, SIGN ME UP BITCH!

Is this hot? Yes
Should you read this? Yes
Will it make you go wtf? Yes

I received an arc in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Nyla.

I’m not keen on fantasy, but when it comes to fairy tales my taste buds come to life. I don’t know what it is about fairy tales that calls to me, maybe the grey zone where evil gets muddled up with good, where they become one and you can’t tell one from the other, or it may be the wicked, hidden meaning, or the villains playing such key roles. That said, I have never liked Disney’s style soppy tales, damsels in distress have always got on my last nerve, prince charming a pale imitation of my ideal “dream man”. This dislike only intensified when at university I found out about the Brothers Grimm’s and Perrault’s crazy worlds and what the real, original “fairy tales” were about; needless to say Mr Disney became more than a fraud in my eyes. Fast forward a few years my filthy mind was more than excited to add romance to the mix.

~𝑻𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒄𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒃𝒆 𝒂 𝒈𝒊𝒂𝒏𝒕 𝒎𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒌𝒆... 𝑶𝒏𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆'𝒔 𝒏𝒐 𝒑𝒐𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒃𝒍𝒆 𝒘𝒂𝒚 𝑰 𝒄𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒑 𝒎𝒚𝒔𝒆𝒍𝒇 𝒇𝒓𝒐𝒎 𝒎𝒂𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈~
With that in mind when I stumbled upon a series of retellings all focused on twisted fairy tales I was game! My first step into this exciting journey begins with Nyla’s K story. What we have here will not make you regret going down this path. In this story I found an enchanted world which was hard to leave behind, the expertly woven plot put a spell on me so strong, time stopped, life as I knew it ceased to exist, chemistry off the charts made me all hot and bothered; I was so engrossed in this story when it ended and it spit me out into reality I was, to put it simply, gutted. I didn’t want the magic to end.

~𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝒎𝒐𝒔𝒕 𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒇𝒆𝒄𝒕 𝒃𝒍𝒊𝒔𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒓𝒐𝒍 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒔 𝒘𝒉𝒆𝒏 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒍𝒆𝒕 𝒈𝒐~

What is the story about you may ask… well Once upon a time… ops! Sorry I almost forgot, you must go into this blind! To best savour this forbidden fruit, knowledge is useless, trust me close your eyes, tune your inner self and indulge in this scrumptious sensory experience.

As far as trigger warning I’m not leaving any as in her foreword the author gives plenty, so don’t fear the unknown as Nyla will prepare you in the best way possible. Trust her, even when you think she’s not with you, you’re never alone 🤍🖤

***5++ "Empyrean!!!" stars***

#NOWAVAILABLE

EVIL ATONES.

Holy shit!!! I have never read anything like this!!!! Honestly, I'm at loss of words right now...
Nyla K is a true Storyteller with a big "S" and this story was so original and unique!! She pulled me in the middle of the forest along with the rest of Principality and she made me fall for a king, a serpent and a servent!!! What an outworldly ride was that!!! I don't think that I will ever managed to forget this story and I'm pretty sure that I will be thinking about it for a very long time!!!

"Nothing happens by accident."

I'm kind of embarrassed to tell you this, but I hadn't ever read "The White Snake" by the Grimm brothers before, but because I wanted to read this story, I went to read it before I started the Serpent in order to find the similiraties between the two stories!!!
And OMG!!! This talented woman created an one of the kind story based on a fairytale!!!
This twisted and sinister version was sooo captivating... I was living in agony to reach the ending, but at the same time, I was catching myself reading slowly in order to savor this incredible story!!!

"Welcome to Empyrean, little mouse."

I don't think I can tell you much about this story...
It's better if you will let your hesitations out of the door and go in blindly...
The experience will be so wild and full of myriad sentiments...
This was a story about a cult, who wasn't really a cult...
It was about a king and a serpent... About a curious young servent... and the twisted connection between these three...
It was a kind of metapsysical fairytale with big doses of reality...
It was a story full of love, friendship, family, lust, secrets and sacrifices...
It was a very erotic story full of unique turns of every kind...
It was a story that NEEDS to be read!!!

"A serpent in white, so lovely and dangerous as the human representation of everything we've done to get right here. He's lodged directly in my heart, wickedly beautiful... quite possibly evil, as he says, yet I wouldn't want him any other way."

I loved Darian, Drake, Abdiel and Rhiannon...
They were amazing creatures with huge hearts...
They were light and darkness together...
They were just perfect!!!
The warm hearted King who was craving his true love by his side... My personal favorite serpent who was a gullon of punishment... The young servant who was full of curiosity which was putting him on very difficult positions... And the strange Outsider who bond them together.... For good or for worse???
What an explosive combination were the four of them!!!

"We're all connected.
Darian and me... Abdiel to us...
Then the girl."

This story reached inside of me very deeply...
I just went to read a dark and twisted retelling, but I received so much more... Things that I can not really explain them to you.
This story made me think... and I liked what I have found in there...
It was magical and atmospheric... I just wanted to jump inside the pages and become a part of this crazy world!!!
Nyal K surprised me in the best way and she gifted me with an unforgettable story!!! I really need to read more of her books!!!

"Promise you'll always be my brother, no matter what happens."

Overall Rating - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️++

Nobody makes me think about a book as much as Nyla. When you open her books, you are transported into them, living and breathing them. Each book brings a new experience and this couldn’t be truer for Serpent. I have never read anything like it and I’m still in awe of how amazing it was.

The book centers around Abdiel (The Servant), Darian (The King) and Drake (The Serpent). Darian and Drake are foster brothers and formed what is known as the Expanse when they had to escape life when they were young teenagers and have grown the Expanse over the years to the commune they have now where everything is self-sustained. Darian is the leader and is the most free-spirited, Drake deals with the business side of their community and is the head chemist, he’s also the most tortured and dark of them all and I couldn’t help but be drawn to him in so many ways. Abdiel, is the help, around half the age of Darian and Drake, loves to cook and can’t help but be intrigued by what goes on. When one night, his intrigue guides him into something he wasn’t expecting and from here a love affair begins, with not one man, but two! And it is so good!! I get shivers with how well Nyla writes the good sexy stuff 😈!

Just about halfway, we meet Rhiannon. She stumbles upon Abdiel high on the mountain one day, lost and searching for something and when she meets him everything starts to fall into place for her. He wants to help her and brings her to the Expanse. When she joins them, she’s sceptical at first, she’s an outsider and thinks Darian and Drake and brainwashing everyone and tries to warn everyone, which she later regrets. As we get to know Rhiannon, there is a slow-building tension in the air between them all and on a journey of discovery, only leads them to discover each other as a foursome.

There is so much to this story. I don’t want to say too much, but it is a journey and it will make you think, it’s a reader experience. It’s Nyla so expect the unexpected and a few curve balls thrown in to keep you on your toes.

Abdiel, Darian, Drake and Rhiannon were amazing as individuals and their character development and growth was outstanding. I loved all of them, the light and the dark, the accepting, the journey they all went through and each having a little piece of my heart.

One of the things I love about Nyla’s books is that she wants the reader to have an experience. Her foreward leads to much intrigue pulling you in and her author note at the end is something I enjoy reading. It’s like a little debrief and an insight into her wild mind! I rarely read author notes, but I never miss Nyla’s, so don’t skip it!

Please go in blind to this story, open your mind and enjoy the ride!

Long book. Took me forever to read it. At 5% it was at DNF but something compelled me to keep reading. It initially seemed like it was going to be one of those cults where the head guy lives in the lap of luxury while his minions live in appalling conditions and run around trying to keep him happy. The fact that Darian has 5 wives and is addicted to a strange hallucinogenic had me deciding to cut and run. But then the little back story around how Darian and his foster brother Drake ended up on the mountain, drew me in. I should have listened to myself.

Once I’d spent 3 days reading it and was still no nearer the end I felt invested in ploughing through it just to get to the mystery about the mountain. It was a chore. I kept telling myself that I had to suspend my thoughts of reality. It’s fiction. It’s not real. It doesn’t matter that some of it isn’t plausible. I was in it for keeps.

Voices of characters in books need to have individuality otherwise, why have different characters? The way they spoke to each other and referred to each other was too samey. I had to keep checking who was speaking because everyone referred to everyone else as baby. Bringing a new character in at 50% is just weird. I didn’t feel like Rhiannon added anything, other than group sex. Her part in the story was so unconvincing that my eyes hurt from all the rolling.

Don’t waste your time reading books that your gut tells you to drop within the first 50 pages. Lesson learnt.

I’m not sure how to express how My feelings on this book. It’s not a Nyla K normal feel but I enjoyed it immensely. Well. I had feelings. I went from thinking what is happening right now to fanning my self to screaming at the characters for their actions. It’s a cult but it’s not. It’s paranormalesque but it’s not. It’s dark but it’s not. It’s so much but it’s so hard to describe. But the overall feel of love is love and people should be able to live in harmony is felt through out the whole story. I’m certain this isn’t going to be everyone’s cup of tea but I love a book that takes me on a journey. Whether that journey is emotional, or internal or an escape I love to find these gems that take me places I wasn’t planning on going. This obscure fairytale retelling definitely is full of the unexpected. I am certain I’m going to be thinking about this book for a very long time.

ARC!

BRUTAL.

5/5⭐️
5/5🌶

Nyla K was one of the best discoveries I made this year. With the Alabaster Penitentiary books and now this one she quickly became one of my favorite authors! I'm not gonna lie, I was scared of starting this one but I shouldn't have worried, this author knows what she is doing and I loved how everything played out.

Serpent in White is such a unique story. It was so intriguing and addictive, once I started I felt like I couldn't blink because I didn't want to miss one single thing. I was completely enthralled by this world and it's characters. Abdiel, Darian, Drake and Rhiannon. These 4...definitely one of my favorite parts of this story, they were so complex and layered. Their bond was beautiful (and super hot, WOW).

I will say that it wasn't as dark as I though but it can push some boundaries so it's definitely not for everyone. Go blind and with an open mind and you shall be fine! Everything in this book happened for a reason, I loved all the mysteries and I still think about this story frequently. Nyla never ceases to amaze me!

This author is always going to be an instant one click for me. I LOVED this book!!! It was exactly how I pictured it would be. Messed up, with lots of boys in it. That is what Nyla K is good at. Dark romance with that MM love. And the one thing I LOVEEE the most about this authors writing, besides all the guy love, is the LENGTH OF HER STORIES! This book took me so long to finish!!! And in the best way. Not because I couldnt get through it but because I NEVER WANTED TO STOP!!!!I LOVEDDDDD DARIAN, DRAKE, AND ABDIEL!!!!!
I want to try to speak my love for this without saying too much because you can never be too careful with this author. She is always throwing you for a loop and adding twists in all her stories.
I just need to say this, I AM HERE FOR THE BROTHERLY LOVE OKAY? I love The Head Priest. I love The Alchemist. I love all the drugs involved.. I love me some virgin Prince Harmony. I LOVED EVERYTHING EVERYTHING EVERYTHING. I wouldve loved it more without the F in the MMMF only because, I didnt connect with her AS MUCH as I did the 3 guys. Rhiannon was a mysterious one to me but you will see when you read it. I cant say more. Just writing this review got me hot because I am remembering all the hot sex.But just, UGH. ALL THE SECRETS, ALL THE TWISTS, ALL THE CULT STUFF, ALL THE DRUGS, ALL THE SEX, ALL THE DARKNESS AND TABOO NESS, ALL THE HURT, ALL THE ACHES AND PAINS YOU WILL FEEL....JUST READ THIS 5 STAR STORY!!!!!! IN LOVE!!!!

This will be vague because this is a book that you need to experience without any spoilers. Just when your mind tells you “oh this is what’s happening” NOPE!! It’s not that.

That’s what I loved the most about this book. I was on my toes the whole time. It forces us to see their world in so many different ways. Not just trying to figure out what’s happening plot wise but to try and see the good/evil. Trying to see the love for what it is! What it could be. What is could endure. I love the depth this has.

This is MM/MMM/MMMF. Our female doesn’t come in until later in the book.

The spice is top notch! This book contains my new favorite oral scene!! 🥵🥵

I had a clear favorite from the get….🦁!!!

Darian is who I felt like I clung to the most. He has something about him that makes it impossible to see him as anything but my main man😂😂

Abdiel is the sweetest. But underneath that is a hunger! And oh I loved “watching” him feast 🥵🥵

Drake is our black soul🐍 he brought out the most emotions in me. My feelings for him were at a constant back and forth!

Rhiannon was another sweet soul. She came wrapped in confusion and pain.

The ending of this absolutely BLEW MY MIND!! and I have been sitting and thinking/feeling over it! I have a few thoughts but I believe this book creates a situation that makes the reader question EVERYTHING.

Have I confused you yet….WELCOME TO THE CLUB! 😂😂 this is a thinker and I LOVE IT!

I've never been so quickly hooked by a book. What a journey. I do think going into this (fairly) blind is best so I'm so glad I did that.

I put this book off for a long time as it's not something I usually go for, BIG mistake lol it's one of my fav reads ever, I think.

Also, holy threesomes. That Nyla K spice hits different 😂🥵

No stone was left unturned in the details of the setting, it was BEAUTIFUL. I'm obsessed with the main characters and always will be, but overall it's genuinely one of the most interesting, intriguing, entertaining books I've read maybe ever. I now want to say goodbye to this capitalist society, escape to the woods, live in a cabin with a log fire and become self sufficient, but think I'll pass on joining a cult.

Tampoco me decepcionó. Algunas cosas funcionaron más que otras, revelaciones que no necesariamente me sorprendieron pero creo que sí tuvo éxito en dejarme pensando sobre la historia luego de terminado el libro.

I have been sitting on this review for days. Honestly cause I didn't know what to say about this book. Not in a bad way, just because this book made me feel so many things. I read this book over a week ago and I'm still sitting here thinking 'WTF?!?!?'

I'm not going to say much on the plot at all because this is a book you have to experience in the moment. And while you're reading it, let it make you feel all the things it's going to.

This is a Brothers Grimm retelling, a Poly relationship, it has cult vibes, it has spiritual themes, there's drug use, insanely incredible spice, and at times it feels slightly paranormal/supernatural. This is the kind of book where the reader gets to decide a lot about what they are reading and about what's happening. Are things real or not? Are they good or evil? Or is what's happening something that has to happen to keep balance in the universe?

I'm not gonna lie, this was gearing up to be my second favorite Nyla book, behind TBIBR, but the end just wasn't for me personally. And that's perfectly okay. I still absolutely loved the book and its themes. This is unlike anything I've ever read, and I completely applaud Nyla for doing something super out of the box and different. A book that makes you think and pushes your boundaries. Her passion behind this book is clear as day. And I love anyone who has a brain strange enough to come up with this.

There could be some triggers in here for some, so check for those, also go into this book with an incredibly open mind! Regardless how you end up feeling about this book, when you're finished you are going to sit there for awhile and go, 'wtf did I just read'?!! But in a good way!

Nyla did it again. Breaking the mold again and again and again. She frikkin exploded the mold there’s no mold to even begin with. How does she do that?
Serpent in White. This book was such a crazy ride. But first lemme talk about the prologue.

It was incredible and so good. I’m the person who’s always like ok why do I need a prologue now or what is it supposed to even mean, like I don’t get the context. Then Miss Nyla comes along and boom gives you this. WOW. ok I’m sure you’re like what is going on with this girl why is she freaking out over a damn prologue? BECAUSE IT’S AMAZING OK?! I can’t help it every book by this woman makes me wanna scream like a madwoman.

Serpent in White is loosely based on the Grimm‘s tale: The White Snake. Mixed with an occult setting and it‘s chef‘s kiss!👏🏼 Usually I don’t care about retellings, but this one is by the queen. so I CARE.

The King. The High Priest. The Alchemist. The Serpent. The Prince. Do you see what Nyla is doing here? She creates this vast and complex world with so many amazing and fleshed out characters.
Drake, Darian, Rhiannon and Abdiel were all amazing but I think Drake has made me go crazy the most lol you know I always fall for the broken ones lol
@authornylak writes her characters so well! Every single one of them has their own voice and role in the story.
Idk what to say. This was so intricately woven and created in such a complex way, it‘ll leave you in awe.
And btw the spice is just pyramid level crazy amazing😍

S e r p a n t I n W h i t e is a standalone retelling of The white snake, a Brothers Grimm fairy tale.

"There's nothing in the world quite like innocence wrapped around mischievous primal lust."

I had no idea what I was getting into with this story, so going in blind is totally fine. Tbh, it's the best way with Nyla because she's not one to colour between the lines.

We follow the journey of the king, the alchemist, the servant and the stray (princess). Yes guys, we have a poly. It is not RH so don't please don't expect that. What you can expect is her signature spice and she didn't come to fckn play, if anything, she bumped it up a notch 🔥.

"God you're so precious," he growls. "So fucking delicious. I could feast on you all day and night and still never be full."

Each character plays a pivotal role in one another's journey and watching it all unfold was intriguing because I literally had no clue what to expect.

What you can expect is to be transported into a forbidden love story that will keep you guessing with commune/cult vibes and a unique perspective on a way of life.
