Wall Street Journal bestselling author Nicole Snow returns with a hysterical office romance where the grumpiest boss claims the good girl and loses his scorched heart.

He pushed my hell-no buttons, wearing an indestructible smirk.
I offended his warped morals in front of his starry-eyed minions.
Then I got my sweet reward for doing the right thing.
I found out I'd be calling Roland Osprey “boss.”

A filthy rich tabloid king. Emphasis on filthy.
A gorgeous villain who sold his soul—if he ever had one.
A tyrant who stole my sensitive, uplifting music magazine.
Welcome to my bait and switch.

Apparently, disasters come in threes.
His perfect vests that leave me delirious.
The way he stares at my lips—painted for torment with an arsenal of lipstick.
Our shared love for sad songs that makes me cry.
So does the big fat secret assignment he drops on my head.

I hate that he has a good cause.
I wish I could hate the wicked ways he makes me feel divine.
When my guard slips, I'm in free fall.
One all-consuming kiss in an alley seals our epic mistake.
How many times can one damaged grump make me sing the blues?
How do you ever fall out of love with the bad guy?

Full-length enemies-to-lovers romance doused in biting words and sizzling slow-burn tension. The worst boss ever finds his missing piece in the woman who loathes him—and an unlikely Happily Ever After worth all the lumps to the heart.

Hated Callie

First, this book was way too long. Callie isn't a likable character at all. Half of the book is her inner dialogue about how much she hates Roland and how terrible of a person he is. No matter how kind he is to her and how many things he does to redeem himself from the beginning, she continues to think the worst of him. My biggest problem with this book is the conflict that splits them up. It made no sense. He did nothing wrong! Not even a misunderstanding. He had nothing to do with the outing of their relationship. Her dramatic reaction and the way she treated him wasn't warranted. She never took any responsibility and she doesn't really grow at all during this book. Also, what professional adult says things like "whatevs" when discussing something important? I love Nicole Snow but this was one of my least favorite books by her.

Holy grumpy butterflies! Nicole broke the enemies-to-lovers mold with Damaged Grump. Roland and Callie are a bantery office romance dream with ferocious chemistry and a slow-burn sizzle that turned me inside out. Steam galore. Toe-curling moments. Hilarious encounters. Then we have the secrets. Like seriously. I'm still trying to peel myself off the floor from the unpredictable, heartbreaking, intense, and unbelievably happy ride this book took me on. A very interesting story. Roland was the biggest antagonist for the Brandt brothers, but once Callie enters his life his perspective changes. He is out for truth and revenge and she is a large distraction that he can't afford. When the tabloids focus on their secret, Roland realizes life isn't fodder for others to read. Great story wonderful HEA.

Unfortunately, this book had zero feel to it. It just didn’t work. Both MCs are unrelatable, no spark and no connection, no real story.
In addition, the amount of inner chatter was really annoying. The first sex scene is one of the cringiest I’ve ever read. Pure puke 🤢

Shame.

I had no intention of reading this book but I'm happy I did. After accidentally skipping the first book in the series I was only really interested in the brothers stories but decided to try this book. I didn't have much expectations for this story but it's definitely my favorite.

I'm currently too tired (3:37am) to go into detail but it was well worth the read.

The Tea and Osprey is derisively referenced in ‘Perfect Grump’.

Callie is sitting at the airport lounge awaiting her flight when Roland and his entourage (journalistic bottom-feeders) begin brainstorming capturing her attention. Accusing her of eavesdropping, she flinches at their brief, contentious exchange. There’s a team transition at Just Vibing or Vibing, his newest media acquisition…Callie is his new chief editor.

“I’d like to know more about the new chief editor. Including her name.”
“That girl you terrorized at the airport, you mean?”
“Come now. ‘Terrorized’ is a little too harsh, don’t you think?”
“Not from the exchange I heard. Honestly, Mr. Osprey, if I wasn’t coordinating with the flight team for on-board accommodations...”
“...you would have made me behave like a gentleman. Yes, I’m well aware. Thanks, mother, I have a reputation to uphold, you know.”
“You’ll be happy to hear I’ve already done your homework. Her name is Caroline Landry, but I think she prefers to go by Callie. Before I say another word, I want your word that you don’t intend to have her fired.”
“I’m wounded, Wanda. I have no inkling of handing Miss Landry a pink slip. Let’s just say I have other plans for her and that mouth.” Wanda is his conscience aka his PA.

Roland is introduced as an insufferable media mogul, in reality he’s committed to the utter destruction of the jackal who eviscerated his only brother’s existence. His disdain of the truth, oftentimes being brutally honest…not everyone can adapt, thus, reporting isn’t a crime and scandals are a matter of public record with irrefutable evidence.

Caroline Landry is an enigma, full of idealism, the type to ask pointed questions about the reasons the new owner of her employer might require a NDA, specifically, as that owner operates under a shell organisation without traceable links to Osprey Media. Based on his tarnished reputation, he doesn’t want his scandals impacting Vibing, so he created a front company for the acquisition to maintain secrecy. Following their second interaction, she finally Googles him — noting he’s one of the most vilified men in the tabloid industry—the derision of dozens of defamation and libellous lawsuits. There’s almost as much tabloid fodder about him as there is by him, being in the business of exposing sordid affairs.

He announces his plans to connect both establishments, ‘The Tea’ and ‘Just Vibing’. The Tea, is a verified internet presence with a broad audience, driving revenue on platforms and generating private advertisers.

Roland considers her - irritating - disgustingly moral and self-righteous. He assigns her on a fact-finding mission, tasked to interview Easterly Ribbons-Natalia Reynolds is Easterly’s real name, having sold albums under her stage name Easterly Ribbon.

Attending an event, Callie overhears Milah Holly assuring Natalia, “you don’t have to be afraid of them, there are a few real wolves out there, but most of them are puppies who used to be as afraid as you are. You’re a chart-topper. You’re their equal. You deserve respect, and don’t you forget it.”
“I just...I feel like a kid here,” Easterly says, twining her fingers together.
Few modern pop stars have ever captured the world the way Milah does. Especially after her post-rehab comeback and brush with some dangerous people. Her music is larger-than-life, all heart and soul, and she belts every note out with so much passion it’s like witnessing a volcanic eruption.
In person, she’s a gorgeous dynamo…she didn’t mean to eavesdrop.

This develops into a perfect opportunity to evaluate the relationship between her and Vance Haydn, her significantly older manager; Easterly eagerly offers Callie an exclusive interview, demonstrating textbook signs of being in an abusive relationship.

Callie feels a sense of guilt for being opportunistic, but cares about making certain Haydn doesn’t hurt the young, impressionable Easterly; those in abusive relationships are rarely in control or in a position to seek help, they’re usually entrenched in denial. She performs daily shadowing tasks at The Tea, whilst juggling hours to stay abreast of her role as Chief Editor at Vibing a web of complications woven around her life.

Roland downplays his deeply, personal vendetta, the unscrupulous man directly responsible for his brother’s attempted suicide. Witnessing his brother sitting hunched over the piano, pressing a single forlorn finger against the same key over and over, a shell of a once enigmatic young man. He’s lost his ability to play a single scale—let alone a song. There’s paper in the sheet music stand, large, scribbles that almost form musical notes, but fall short—his own made-up symbols interspersed with a repeated number that looks like §14.2 (this will later be significant).
All gone. Nothing left of the talented, beautiful soul. No outward signs of his brother.
He wears his face. A handsome man in his early thirties, his hair of the same dark brown, his eyes a brighter, clearer, softer blue. Inside those eyes, it’s vacant. A stranger.

“W-who are you?” he asks carefully, scooting back on the seat, pushing himself with his feet in clunky sneakers with Velcro snaps.
Roland’s eviscerated that a monster destroyed his brother.
Sometimes, he sits him down and slowly explains, repeatedly, that a dreadful 'accident' made him forget. He says that he’s his big brother and he’s loved him his entire life and always will. Barry always beams, bright and innocent, and throws his awkward arms around his neck and says he’s always wanted a big brother.

Roland’s armour is his vulnerability, determined to make Haydn pay for the damage inflicted on his brother. Remembering the dreadful day when he found Barrett dangling from a rope, the chair kicked out under him, his face bloodless with slow, gasping breaths hissing past his blue lips.

Barrett is Barry when he’s lucid, cared for by trained cognitive and behavioral therapists when he regresses and doesn’t recognise Roland it’s due to his suicide attempt at the hands of Vance Haydn.

Callie’s father Alvin was once at the top of the Billboard charts as a hot young musician before he lost himself and his life imploded. She has fond memories of being a little girl, so small he could hold her in the crook of his arm, his guitar in one hand and her in the other. He’s an alcoholic…reliving his glory days in a bottle.

Barrett was a musical genius, sensitive. It gave him a gift for making beautiful music...it also made him vulnerable to predators like Vance Haydn. He signed Barry to a contract with big promises of fame and fortune, nothing Barrett ever cared about. He just wanted to share his songs with as many people as he could, and that’s what lured him in. The music industry is just as unforgiving as the tabloids.

Haydn without a shred of decency, told him he didn’t have what it took after using everything he did have. Broken promises, broken dreams…Barrett promised he’d be fine. He said it with tears...smiling. He stopped by his place, his car was in the driveway, sensing something was wrong. It’s all a blank. One minute, he’s knocking, and the next he’s kicked down the door and found him hanging from the ceiling fan. Guess it’s a good thing he’s never been great at knots, because the damned thing slipped from all his jerking around, and he fell. Roland got there just in time to catch him. He was half-dead. Suffocated. He doesn’t know what might’ve happened if he hadn’t been there to rush him to the hospital. If he would’ve wound up a veritable vegetable, brain-dead, lying there on the floor with no one to help him. He has his life, but is it truly living?

“I’ll never forgive him for driving Barry to take his life, and I’ll never stop, Callie. Not until I’ve wrecked everything he has and made him pay. Not until everything he’s taken from my brother gets repaid ten times over, with interest for what he’s stolen from everybody else. One way or another, I’ll bring him to justice—with or without Easterly Ribbon’s help.”

Many memorable moments, searing foreplay…he’s never shared the horrors with another person, until Callie. Her perception of him never wavered until Vance Haydn discovered his weakness and publicly humiliates them in the tabloids. She quits her job and their personal arrangement, both afraid to risk their feelings.

Callie made him want the impossible—she made him want to be a better man. Deciding the publication, The Chicago Tea, and all Osprey Media subsidiary properties are on a new creative direction, they’re no longer exploring gossip, scandal, and fodder for human misery.
They’re done ruining lives.
The people they spotlight in the future will be uplifted by the beauty of their lives and accomplishments—as people who create music, art, and media. The same way Callie uplifted Just Vibing during her period as Chief Editor.
He makes a public announcement declaring his feelings for her in the paper.
“If you’re reading this, Callie Landry, I have an announcement. I love you. And I’m sorry as hell it took me so long to say it with the point-blank respect you deserve. Wherever you are, I hope you’re happy. It’s all you deserve”.
She saw his message.
She read every word.
The girl he loves just happens to love him back.

Wanda’s outward dislike of Callie was not mutually exclusive of her protection of Roland.

Vince Haydn makes once last attempt to extinguish the light from Callie and by default, Barry, the night of Alvin’s performance. Standing over Callie, on the floor, pushing herself up on shaky arms, the shoulder of her dress torn, her arms and knees bruised. With Barrett in his arms, struggling wildly, going red-faced as Haydn loops a rope from the stage rigging around his neck. He pulls hard, crushing Barry’s windpipe. Haydn’s face is hellish crimson, his eyes dilated—he’s high as a kite, probably on enough cocaine to bring down a rhino.
The ogre must’ve found out Easterly Ribbon flipped on him. Then he must've completely flipped his sh*t and snorted everything he had the instant he realised just how cornered he really is. He wouldn’t be the first to let that little white demon convince him that murder is the only answer to his problems in the heat of the moment. Alvin saved the day…with his guitar.

As her parents seemingly work towards a reconciliation, Barry and Alvin begin working musically. Barry begins responding to treatment…and Milah Holly and Easterly join their inner circle.

A grand gesture and a HEA.

Damaged beyond repair and redemption?
Damaged Grump (Bad Chicago Bosses Book 4) by Nicole Snow is another amazing bad boss, enemies to lovers romance. Once again, this author drew me in with spectacular descriptive phrases that held in thrall from beginning to end. Whether it’s a description of a setting, character or action, the words brought beautiful pictures to mind.
The characters in this book enraptured me from the get go. Roland can be described in so many ways; Supergrump, sugar-filledgrump, grumpasaurus, grumpalicious, alpha, damaged, conflicted and ultimately, a real hero beneath all that grumpy bluster. Callie is reserved and mistaken as timid. She does not shrink in Roland’s powerful shadow as her boss, but stands up for herself, her morals and convictions. Secretly Roland loves it.
These two are a slow-burning inferno and their implosion is only delayed by the armor they both wear. Roland has his three-piece suits even though the vests he wears always seem to make Callie weak. Roland has a weakness for Callie’s unpredictable lipstick color, knowing that, she seeks new and unexpected colors to throw him off as much as the Brute in a suit gets to her. Once the spark ignites with a kiss, denying their chemistry and magnetic attraction becomes impossible. Once the spark is fanned into a flame, there’s no turning back, stopping, ignoring or seemingly an ending.
The plot is all consuming from Roland’s perspective as well as how it impacts Callie in multiple ways. I love how this author brings her characters together, revealing bit and pieces of them and the plot at just the right time. I truly despised having to break from reading, compelled to keep turning pages. Roland’s mission is all consuming and implodes spectacularly but not without collateral. Despite the heartbreaking fallout, Roland persists and with a little help, finally rights a whole lot of wrongs, especially the wrong done to Callie.
Overall, this ice cold grumpy boss with a damaged heart is forever thawed and brought into the light and healed with the love of his Callie. It’s a long and arduous journey, but through all the pain and heartbreak there’s hope and a HEA.
I read an ARC of this book and voluntarily share my review.

Delicious power of wills!

Callie is looking forward to her new job, until she meets the enigmatic tycoon who recently acquired the magazine that just hired her. To say that Roland is a bit of a control freak is like saying a hurricane is a bit breezy. But his fascination with the enticing and outspoken editor is causing him to rethink everything he thought about himself.

It's no secret that I adore this author's writing style, and the wordplay in this book is some of her best work. The intensity between them is pulsing right from the start and maintains a steady pressure on their individual resolve to keep their relationship perfectly professional. As we get to know both Roland and Callie, as they get to know each other, we see just how inevitable their HEA is.

This romance takes us on a wild emotional ride while delving deep into the forces that made these characters who they are. The extensive and insightful backstories are always some of my favorite parts of a Nicole Snow romance. She builds characters that will live in your heart forever. The extended epilogue was the icing on the cake, showing us a wonderful after-the-HEA future.

This is an absolutely breathtaking story, well worth reading again and again. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Turns out there is a reason he's an asswipe.

DNF at 35%

I just was so bored with the story, I found nothing appealing about either characters, Callie was boring and I found it incredibly unrealistic how a girl fresh out of college is now running an entire magazine. Roland was meh, didn’t find anything about him interesting. There was no chemistry between the characters and Judd became uninteresting.

Plot rating 4-4.5/5
Steam rating: 2/5

Plot: this is the story- of a lovely lady -who meets a very stubborn boy. He ‘buys’ her champagne after some words when they were not alone.

Then the very lovely lady met the fellow at her very lovely job. She was mad as hell

Ok, sing it to the Brady bunch ^^^^

Anyways, the main characters meet, have some sparring words and then they become colleagues. Roland Osprey is out for revenge on a music mogul who harmed his brother who has reverted to a more child-like person due to the accident.

With this end goal, he has Callie interview the current very young girlfriend of the demon spawn music villain at an event.

The main characters eventually have sex, duh. But my 2/5 rating is because I feel cheated. 500 some pages and you make threats with ‘People only call me master in bed’ and ‘I’m going to spank you’ and then nothing that is written in detail to those threats? She said she never thought of herself as a submissive, but nothing is written in about being one? Come on. We’re there for the plot as much as the steam.

I like it when the steam is built on, you know, several sex but not sex experiences before the full shebang. I want that build up, I want one of them being caught with their hands in their pants. Yes, please.

Anyways, there is some well written drama on trying to take down the villain of the story, and redemption of some side characters is also written in. It’s a cute story. I did think it was a bit long and started skimming, then had to go back because I missed when/why they went for splitsville. Yeah, another stupid miscommunication thing. Good, why can’t people just talk like the adults they are. Every CR story…ugghhh

Give me more smut though. Detail the threats, don’t make them fade to black.

So if you want a good story with a little steam, this is for you. If you are looking for smut with the 500 plus page commitment, nope, not for you.

I wouldn’t read it again.

Damaged Grump by Nicole Snow is a stand-alone story that is part of the Bad Chicago Bosses series, and it is the grumpiest of all. Once again Snow has woven a story pulling in an alpha boss that is rich and gorgeous and has a chip on his shoulder as big as the Chicago skyline. The underlying cause and effect of the story base is heart wrenching and will make you have all the feels you are looking for and might even have you tearing up. I absolutely loved that the book centers around music and writing and refers to an age of music that has long since passed. The only snag in the book (and I do mean ONLY) is that one of the supporting characters has an improbable outcome that made it seem more unrealistic than what is truly expected in real life. I know, it’s a book, and made for entertainment and we all want that “HEA” but most times realistically it doesn’t end the happy way it did for this character, which just made me feel sad. Of course, as with every book that I have read by Snow (which I do believe is most of her writings) I loved the egomaniac boss hole and the straight-as an-arrow woman that somehow catches his attention. The banter and the comedy between the MMC and the MFC are hilarious and filled with all sorts of sexual tension. This book is over the top entertaining, and you won’t be able to put it down. 4-stars for Damaged Grump by Nicole Snow.

Ohhhh….. this was A.M.A.Z.I.N.G.L.Y. well written! 🥵 that building of anticipation was crazy, how the author made you root for the MCs, made you want for them to get it on once and for all 😮‍💨. I *needed* them to scratch that itch after that first kiss. I *needed* them to fall for one another. And I *needed* then to patch things up at the end.

In the interest of full disclosure, however, I will add that I’m a sucker for office romance… AND grumpy, tortured heroes… AND the enemies to lovers trope… Still. I loved it!

This will be my last Nicole Snow book. I do enjoy her books to an extent. Good characters, fun banter, various things going on with plot, some romance steam. I just do not vibe her writing style. There is a forced spunkiness and repetitiveness on every other page that always has my mind wandering and wishing to skip ahead. I can see why some might love her books, but they’re not for me.

I received this ebook ARC, from the author,on the condition that I write an honest review.
This book had me hooked from the very beginning to the end. The beautiful writing of Nicole Snow just held my complete interest. The coldness of Roland to the warmth of Callie and this leading to lust, love, misunderstandings, mystery, intrigue, family love, all represented beautifully in this book.
Roland is an uptight CEO of a gossip magazine, and he is considered a bad man, even though he is trying to change his magazine. He has a brother who has suffered the side effects of attempted suicide. His brother is his only weakness, and he provides for him.
Callie is young woman, attempting to break into the magazine business. She is also the daughter of a once-famous rock star, a rock star that is now an alcoholic. She worries about him, but she can’t figure out what to do for her father. Meantime, she is hired into a magazine that is a subsidiary of Roland’s magazine. She has to face him at corporate meetings, and an attraction develops.
The attraction heats up while they are at a business trip, but Roland still continues to be a cold man to her. Pressure, and threats from outside sources cause misunderstandings between the couple. Roland’s determination to destroy a certain manager, completely control his mind, and heart, and Callie gets drawn into his determination.
After an altercation, Roland succeeds at sending the manager to jail. Callie returns to Roland, and they finally obtain their HEA. The book ends in a beautifully written epilogue. I’ve read several books written by Nicole Snow, and she never fails to hold my interest in her books, therefore, I’ll always recommend her books.

Callie is mesmerized when she first lays eyes on Roland, then he speaks and Callie is taken aback. His melodious voice, the timbre, his looks, that voice. One look and Callie realizes there's more than just arrogance and good looks to this man. Much more. The encounter doesn't last long and not something she wants to dwell on, for a number of reasons. One being she doesn't even know who he is, she's just glad their brief conversation is over. The curt, venomous Mr. Roland Osprey. Roland's power is intriguing, but she's just landed a top position with a well respected company in the pop culture/music industry so she's feeling pretty powerful herself. Too bad this isn't her last encounter with The Roland Osprey.
WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT-ROLAND OSPREY, A TOTAL PAGE TURNER!!!
I did not expect the rollercoaster of emotions reading this book. I remember Roland from previous books, the sleazy guy from The Chicago Tea. Well this story delves deep into his private life, much like he does to others when looking for a great story. Roland's story is no exception. FANTASTIC READ!!! I COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN!!!

I loved the Bad Chicago Bosses series, but this one is DEFINITELY my favorite! The infamous Roland Osprey's story is here and man is it a doozy, but in the best possible way! Getting inside this grump's head was amazing and there is so much more than what meets the eye. Then he meets the colorful Callie and his whole world turns upside down. You do not want to miss this wild ride!

Oh my goodness, I think my heart almost exploded with all of the feels from this one. The world does not think that Roland cares or has a heart, but they are SO WRONG. I definitely fell for this man hard and adored his chemistry with the lovely Callie. He is not perfect by any means, he is a grump after all, but he is pretty darn awesome.

All in all if you are looking for a book that has crazy chemistry, awesome steam, and characters that you can get behind- this is DEFINITELY your next read! Seriously, pick it up right now, you will not be disappointed!

PS: Thank you to Nicole Snow for an advanced copy of the book to read and review honestly!

Of all the grump books Nicole has written, I believe Damaged Grump is my favorite. I was so prepared not to like Roland Osprey because of his cameo appearances in the other books in the series. His introduction to Callie in the airport lounge was so unique. She was eavesdropping on his conversation with his employees, and the description of the scene drew me in. I love reading books so I can slip into the character's world, view it, and feel along with the characters; this is what happened in the airport scene. It was so much fun to witness. Reading makes for such a lovely mental vacation when work has been crazy, and you need a moment. Damaged Grump was hard to read at times and was quite emotional too. You discover why Roland was doing what he does; you get to know why Callie has feelings about tabloids. Ultimately you see them both work together to right some wrongs and help some people along the way. The two blend their talents and strengths and become a strong couple. I enjoyed every minute of this book, and I was sad to see it end. More than that, I loved the theme of good overcoming evil--I love seeing the good guy win. Damaged Grump is a winner all around in my book. You should definitely get to know Roland and Callie.

Roland and and Callie first meet at an airport, not knowing that they’ll meet again until she lets it slip where she’ll be working.

Roland Osprey always gets what he wants and what he wants next is revenge. To destroy one mans life for what he did to his brother. And now he has a plan to use Callie to get close to a celebrity.

But will his plan succeed or does that chemistry between him and Callie need to be explored? Maybe for just one night? Get her out of his system.

Callie Landry likes her new job, but it comes with an added task that she doesn’t feel good about. Why does her boss want to destroy this one guy? It seems personal. After a while even Callie can’t deny the looks of pure lust coming from Roland. Will this end in heartbreak?

There is a lot of drama, a trigger of suicide, hot passion, and the inside scoops of how a gossip magazine is run in this book.

I enjoyed the dynamic between Roland and Callie, the side stories that help understand their feelings and liked both of the POV’s.

This author has given us another fantastic story! This one really pulled at my heartstrings with Barrett! Roland has committed his life to avenge his brother and has forgotten what it’s like to really live. Callie is such a bright flower and has really gotten under her boss Roland’s skin and has changed his views. This is such an amazing story that has so much depth and some amazing characters with real life problems. This sucked me in right from the start and I couldn’t put it down! An absolute 10 star read that I loved!! Highly recommend!

Roland Osprey. We met him in Perfect Grump, the man who can ruin lives through The Chicago Tea. I wanted to know more about this so-called villain who was friends with the lovely Beatrice Brandt. The first time Roland sees Callie, their conversation sets off a few sparks. This sets the tone for them—snarky, flirty banter with frustration & yet mutual admiration. The ruthless nature of the business of both music & publishing are highlighted—I loved this real-life plot, Roland’s passion for justice and Callie’s compassion for fallen idols. Roland & Cassie together are pure magic.

I thought this book was really good. I laughed, I cried, and once I started reading it was really hard to put down. I have to admit, I was a little hesitant. After reading the first 3 books in this series, I didn’t want to see Roland Osprey as a damaged human with a heart and I didn’t think he deserved to get his HEA. But Callie was the perfect woman to break through his armor and uncover his hidden heart. It’s definitely a roller coaster ride to get there but well worth it. Although this book works as a standalone, I recommend reading the first three books in the series before Roland’s story. All the books in this series are a worthwhile read.

This was an enemies to lovers romance. Another good read in the series though unnecessarily long. At least one fourth of the book could have been edited out and not lost any of its meaning.

Carolina/Callie Landry is the new editor in chief of Just Vibing, a music industry magazine located in Chicago. Her father is a former '80s rocker and is an alcoholic. She moves in to his home when she relocated to Chicago.

Roland Osprey is the rich, coldly arrogant tabloid king of Osprey Media. He owns Just Vibing. He has a vendetta against a music agent who drove his younger brother to attempt suicide. Barrett is now mentally disabled and needs round the clock care and therapists.

Roland is obsessed with Callie's colourful outfits and makeup. Callie hates Roland but is also attracted to him. They eventually hook up and fall in love but not before he messes up and turns into a caring person.

You'll love Callie and Roland's love-hate relationship. This is part of the Grump series but is read as a full-length standalone. If you've read some of the other Grump books you'll remember Roland. He's powerful, he's arrogant, he's totally alpha, he's rich and he's a true grump. This was an amazing book that is a page turner that's hard to put down. Great, complex characters and a sizzling story line. An emotional roller coaster for sure with some twists and lots of drama. I read an arc via the author and voluntarily chose to review it.

A Fun and Entertaining Story...Don't Miss It!
Cute story loved the characters Nicole created. Callie and Roland, he's her boss and she is a vibrant, gorgeous redhead that drives him crazy. The banter back and forth between these two will have you smiling and waiting to see who stands up to who. Besides not being afraid to speak her mind to her boss, she dresses to send him over the edge from her hair to her lipstick to her shoes. But it's not all fun and games between these two. There is some dark sadness with each of them. The book was extremely entertaining and kept me captivated to the end to see how everything was going to play out. I highly recommend you don't miss out on a really lively and enjoyable book.
