That Night

Rate this book
Senior Kat Palmer observes several of her classmates acting suspiciously on the first day back to school. Her boyfriend was one of them.
One night, she follows him out to Lemmon's Park.
A fight breaks out and she hears a terrifying scream.
Four of the five classmates flee the area.
Kat goes looking for the fifth. All she finds is a shoe, an abandoned car, and a cell phone. What happened to the classmate who owned these things?

As Kat continues to search the woods, she is knocked unconscious. She wakes up in the hospital with no recollection of what had happened. As the days go by, she starts to remember bits and pieces of that night. She can't rest until she knows what really happened to the missing classmate.

Kat drives back out to Lemmon's Park, hoping to recall more of that night. But this time she finds a broken watch with an engraving on the back. How did her father's watch end up at the scene? He'd told her that the watch had been stolen when someone broke into their home last week. Had he been there that night?

The more Kat investigates, the more secrets she uncovers. She finds out that even the ones closest to her aren't who they pretend to be.

This was a GoodReads giveaway book. This book was a YA suspense thriller. It certainly lived up to that! I went from thinking that one of the teens committed the murder that starts the suspense, to believing that Kat's father had committed it, to wondering if Kat, herself, had done it. Yet, surprisingly, none of them were responsible for it! This story was full of twists and turns. It was very well written and drew me in from the start. I can't wait for the sequel so we can learn more about Mia, Kat's friend that lived across the street from her. I highly recommend this one to both young adults and adults if you love a good thriller!

Received as a Goodreads giveaway. Quick and easy read. Kat, our main character, sort of darts around and sees suspicious behavior where it may not exist. It feels plotted out like many teen focused books - sort of random movements, not particularly purposeful, jumping to conclusions. Enjoyable, and were I a decade or two younger, I would have devoured it in an afternoon.

I’m giving this close to a 4.5 because I was sooo entertained reading this. All the twists and turns has me hooked, when I thought I had figured it out, I was wrong. I enjoyed everyone’s character and wanted more, to my surprise at the end we find out mia has a story to tell!! It continues to another book and I can’t wait

Great book

It's fast paced, easy to read and well written. I really enjoyed this book and the twists it had in it. I think it's a great book for a young adult as their first murder mystery/thriller book.

Not the first book I have read from this author and never will be the last as long as she continues her writing! This book is one of that you don't want to miss out on! Page turner at the least! Highly recommended!

I did not finish this book at 23%. It is just not for me, younger people would probably love it.
