You are an asshole. Maybe I will even call you a boss hole. Also, no I’m not taking a vocabulary or algebra test. Just because you’re the CEO doesn’t give you the right to be pompous and arrogant. And frankly I saw that photo of you in the newspaper last year; are you cousins with the yeti? Not a good look.

P.S. Never in a Million Years
I never intended to actually send the email. I’m not crazy. It was just a way to vent. I actually did need the money way too much to go off on my boss. Only when I went into office the next day, there was a note on my desk. It read, “A million years is up. See me in my office.”
My dad was right, my mouth would eventually get me into trouble. Only he had no idea just had bad the trouble was going to be.
This book was sent to me by the author for a review. I'm disappointed in the book. Marcia comes across as being immature not only in her personal life but also professionally. She supposedly signed an NDA at work but that didn't stop her. I wish this book would have had Finn's pov because maybe then the storyline would have been improved. Marcia has been hurt before in the past several times so she is very wary about good looking guys. When one hits on her at a bar, she shuts it down really quick and is rude. She keeps running into him at different places and is rude to him every time. She is hired as a temp at Winchester Enterprises and keeps putting down the CEO based on a picture she saw of him. She is placed as an executive assistant and is outraged at the hoops she has to jump through for the job. She writes an email to him to cool herself down. When she returns to work, she is summoned to the CEO's office. She is in shock when she discovers who Finn really is. She just becomes more immature. I didn't like the way her mom was portrayed in the book and the ending was another disappointment. The potential was there but I don't even know how to improve it.
This is one of the most childish things I’ve ever had the misfortune of attempting to read. What an awful, immature, irresponsible, horrible main character.
I gave this romance comedy 4 and a half stars. It hurt to do it but I noticed repetitive use of words and characters relationships in her recent books. And, it hurts because I really love Jaimie Cooper! She is so incredibly talented and her books are addictive. The heroine is in need of a job and sent an email to her new sexy boss, only he was not supposed to get the email. There’s lots of sexual tension and banter, angst galore! This is a fun slow burn romance and I would recommend it. I was given an Advantage Readers Copy for an honest review.
DNF 61% - I’ll never fucking learn 🤦🏼♀️ Let’s just say, I need to learn that just because it’s free doesn’t mean you should buy it… This book was horrible, I tried I really did like 61% tried but i was ready to throw my kindle across the room, it was just horrible. Marcia was an immature annoying person, there was not 1 likable quality about her. And Finn he acted nothing like a CEO he was bridging and an immure idiot to. The premise of the book was there until it was just crap 💩
Marcia needs a new job so that she and her best friend Suzie can afford their rent. She gets a job as a temp at Winchester Enterprises. When she and Suzie are out celebrating that night, she meets a guy who is too incredibly handsome and is rude to him and lies to him about her position in the company thinking that she'll never see him again. After running into him a few more times she continues to turn him down and he seems more determined to learn more about her and her job. Finally deciding to go out on a date with the green-eyed man, it ends up being a disaster. Fully planning to never see him again she is shocked to discover that he is Finn Winchester her boss and CEO of the company. They start to work together and can't fight their attraction and soon start seeing each other but she worries he's like all other extremely handsome men. When a misunderstanding occurs after they sleep together, she must get over her insecurities and learn to trust him. This was a cute book and pretty funny too. I liked the friendship that the women all shared and I thought Marcia's earlier interactions with Finn were hilarious. I was glad they ended up together and I want to read Brody and Suzie's story next.

5 DELICIOUS STARS!! I devoured this book....OMG....I absolutely loved Marcia and Finn. Their story pushed all the right buttons with humor, fun banter, major chemistry and so much more. I can't wait for the next book in this series. You must read this book....it is so good.
I'm sorry. I tried. I really did, but this was awful from top to bottom. I guess I'm in the minority here since this book has so many high ratings, but there was literally nothing about it that I even slightly liked. Even if I could look past the horrible grammar and punctuation mistakes, the characters were atrocious. Marcia was extremely unlikable and immature, Finn was just annoying and the supposed "banter" was mediocre at best 😑 Also, people in their mid 20's don't start every other sentence with "GIRL".
I don't know what the author was thinking publishing this book. It needed some heavy editing and proofreading. I've read some of her past works and I don't remember them being this bad. I really hope she does a better job with her next installment.
I finished this book for the sole reason that I'm currently in a car with absolutely nothing else to do. The characters are the most stupid characters I have ever read about. Everything about them and their personality is absurd. Nothing about them, their reactions or the story made sense. The writing is awful: this book is 90% bad written dialogues. OMG what a waste of time!
P.S. Never in a Million Years by JS Cooper is such a great story.
Marcia gets a job and goes out to celebrate with her bestie. She encounters a gorgeous green eyed man. Because of her past, she blows him off and starts embellishing somethings and walks away without getting his name.
Finn owner and CEO of Winchester Enterprises. Goes out one night alone to unwind and sees this beautiful dark hair beauty he must get to know. He's intrigued and her story, wow. Holds of on telling her his name.
They meet quite often and when they do their banter and chemistry is off the charts. It's new ball game when Marcia finds out who Green Eyes is....
Cute story Well written Great characters and world building Definitely a must read...

I received an ARC in return for a honest review and let me tell you how much I loved Marcia's & Finn's story, including their cringe-worthy meeting - hello, 'foot meet mouth', Marcia stop talking!
Marcia Lucas is down on her luck surviving paycheck to paycheck with her best friend Susie. They live codependently in a small flat in NYC and despite having complete different personalities they work. Marcia is more fly by the seat of your pants kind of gal, believing you have to reach past the stars if you want anything to happen. It was with this kind of thinking that made her apply for a job as the President of Marketing at a prestigious company owned by none other than the CEO Finn Winchester. As luck would have it, despite no experience she lands a temp job working for Winchester.
Celebrating her new found temp job with Susie, Marcia comes face to face with an arrogant, self-assured good looking god of a man with gorgeous green eyes. Once she sees his smirk though, she feels she needs to put him in his place: "I was being a bitch for all the women like me who'd been dissed by all the good-looking men like him" . Unfortunately, this only piques Mr. Green Eyes interest more.
As serendipity would call it, Marica finds herself running into Mr. Green Eyes a few more times before she decides to take the chance and find out his name. Behind the scenes at work she has been made to sign an NDA and a No-Seducing the new boss contract. Fuming she pens an email to said boss speaking her mind with no intention of actually sending it and doesn't think anything of it until the following day when she is called to the CEO's floor and finds herself face-to-face with Mr. Green Eyes himself.
I thoroughly enjoyed the back and forth comradery mixed with a hint of sarcasm from Marica and Finn plus there is the whole learning experience. Marcia realizes she has to stop judging a book from its cover. Yes, Finn has money but that doesn't mean he is like every other male that has done her wrong. He is a romantic and what woman doesn't swoon over that "... we only have one life, and sometimes we have to live each day as it were our last".
The only downside? It's only told through Marcia's POV and having being spoiled before with the varying POV's of the main characters, I would have really enjoyed Finn's POV every other chapter (or so). Other than that, loved it!
Finn and Marcia have a couple of chance meetings before Marcia starts the new job she obtained through a temp agency. Imagine her surprise when her new boss is none other than the cocky and way too handsome for his own good, guy she met in the bar. Finn loves pushing Marcia’s buttons and he is determined to get her to fall for him. Will she be able to resist his charms?
Another great read from Cooper. This is the first in a new series and I’m excited to read more. Cooper writes well developed characters with depth and interest. This is a fun enemies to lovers read with great banter. I’ve watched Coopers dialog develop and improve over time and this book has been, by far, one of my favorites.
I received a review copy of this book from the author. I am voluntarily leaving a review.
The book was ok. I mean, it’s your standard hidden identity trope. The reveal of who green eyes is is obviously predictable. There’s a bit of fate thrown in there I think. He didn’t orchestrate everyone of those meetings.
Finn was ok. I liked the version of Flinn that was obviously into Marcia and not when he was messing with her. I’m glad I read the extra scene that’s from his POV so you can see how he felt the first time he met Marcia and how he basically thought it was love at first sight.
It would have had to be love at first sight because he had no other reason to be into her. Marcia was awful. Honestly one of the rudest, most obnoxious, heroines I’ve read in quite a while.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. Marcia and Finn's romance had me hooked fom the start. I loved their chemistry, and their banter was so entertaining. There is an instant connection when they meet at a bar,Finn knows he wants to get to know this woman.Marcia though lies about who she is which ends up biting her in the ass when she finds out who Finn is.Its a game changer. funny, sexy, sweet and a really great read. Never in a Million years is another wonderful story by J.S Cooper. 5 Stars.
Marcia was not my favorite character. I thought she was whiny, immature and just not likable. I found it hard to believe that someone like Finn would be so taken by her. But chemistry is a powerful thing. IMO he should have been alarmed by the outlandish lies that she told about him and his company but instead he seemed amused. I usually love JS Cooper's books but honestly this wasn't my favorite. It seemed disjointed at times but over all was a good read. I read a free arc and voluntarily chose to write a review.
I absolutely loved this book from the first word until the last! I also really loved that Jaimie used Australia in the storyline which for me being an Aussie made my day. This book has all the feels and takes you on a roller coaster ride of emotions. Please read this book because it’s such an amazing story.
I really didn't like her, she is just too childish, immature, rash, unprofessional and couldn't chut her trap to save her life! It's a good thing that this is fiction, because in real she'll be sued to her last toe nail! Also, it was a bit too insta love/commitment for a book this long! And finally, i thought this was a comedy, but she was too melodramatic and prone to hasty decisions to be fun most of the time, it was just ridiculous, and not the fun kind of ridiculous! I really kept waiting for Gloria to smack her, I'd have enjoyed that! I really hope the next book is better, so far i like Susie better than Marcia, so it should be!
Ps: this book might have been better if it had a dual pov instead of a single obnoxious narrator!
I bought this book because I read a blurb that included her email that contained the title of the book - and I was hooked. But I have to say the book didn’t live up to the initial promise. Cooper took the enemies to lovers/mistaken identity too far (or not far enough; whichever, I felt missed the mark). Instead of being a bit sassy and willing to stand up for herself, Marcia became ridiculous and unlikeable. She piled on ridiculous over the top lies about herself when she first meets Finn, then doubles down when he questions her over and over instead of just fessing up.This can be a meet cute when it’s written in a funny or charming way, but I didn’t find it either. She was disrespectful and inattentive at work to co-workers and managers - at a temp job that she stressed she desperately needed and needed to keep. Her behavior was flighty and unprofessional from the first moment on the job. She was argumentative with Finn and not in a cute way. She came across as Miss Know-It-All. It was hard to understand his instant attraction and why he kept pursuing her when she acted so crazy. I liked Finn even though he was almost too perfect. Handsome billionaire CEO longs for the simple life and has a heart of gold, etc. We never really gets Finn’s character or motivations fleshed out. My other issue was with the lack of editing. Many sentences had words missing, so you had to reread it a few times to fill in the gaps. Many times it wasn’t clear from the dialogue who was talking. Cooper would have the same character talk twice, instead of alternating between characters, so I would have to go back and guess who was speaking when it wasn’t immediately obvious. My biggest pet peeve, though, was the lack of commas. I’m not the grammar police, but a professional author needs to understand where commas are needed or hire someone who does. “I don’t want to Marcia” vs “I don’t want to, Marcia”. That’s not a perfect example but it was a consistent error and distracted and detracted from the book. Respect your readers, Cooper. Spell words correctly, write complete sentences, use proper grammar. Did no one ever go back to read the rough draft or was it written and immediately published? The comma omissions are one thing, but leaving important words out of sentences over and over is really sloppy and unprofessional. You can do better.
This book was amazing! I loved the back and forth banter between Finn and Marcia it really helped see how their relationship was going to go. There were plenty of funny parts and lots of steamy, hot parts. I started this and read it straight through and I don't regret missing out on any sleep it was totally worth it. I look forward to brody and Susie's story!
I really wanted to give this book three stars, but after some deliberation, I have decided the writing was bad enough to stick with a two.
First the positive. I loved the MMC, and we was the best written of all the characters. I did see what the author was trying to portray for the personality of each character; but rather than show us through action, it was told to us. It is because I could see this that I was able to appreciate what each character had to offer. The fun banter between Finn and Marcia was entertaining and the fact that she kept sticking her foot in her mouth was a riot. Susie was the bestest friend anyone could ask for.
However, the negatives just outweighed the positives. The writing was amateur and choppy. The FMC is immature and a horrible friend. So many times, with the big moments in Susie's life, Marcia never even asked how it went for her. Two interviews for a job she desperately needed and unless brought up by Susie, Marcia would not even acknowledge it happened let alone stop talking about herself for a moment to think of anyone but herself. Then there was the portrayal of Marcia's parents and friends. Why is everyone so money obsessed and the rich people okay with that kind of talk. It was very distastefully done. Not that people aren't really like that, but not in groups and not so vocal about it. Then there is Brody. I get that he had bad news and I get that he is the MMC of the next book, but nobody would be so callous to their best friend in the ways he was. Just no to all of that.
This Wacky NYC Romance Will Have You In Stitches! Marcia Is Soured On Handsome Men, But Fate Steps In When The Mysterious Green Eyes Seems To Pop Up Wherever She Turns.
ABOUT THE CUPID IN THE CITY SERIES:
This is book one in the Cupid in the City series. As of now, it follows the stories of four girlfriends living in New York City in pursuit of their dreams.
This is Marcia’s story. She and her bestie Susie move to NYC from Orlando and fall into financial hardship as they struggle to find jobs in the expensive city.
Susie’s story follows in book two, P.S. Not If You Were the Last Man on Earth.
P.S. Lose This Number follows in book three. As of now, the book is slated to be Julia’s story, but that might be an error as book one would indicate it should be Lilian’s book as she is one of the two friends that Marcia and Susie make, and there is no Julia in book one.
Book four is P.S. You Would Be So Lucky. It follows Shantal, who is introduced in book one. She and Marcia become fast friends. IN THIS BOOK:
Marcia Lucas, twenty-five, is pursuing her dream in NYC. The Puerto Rican and Irish beauty turns heads, but she doesn’t seem to take much notice. She likes to ignore her problems – wishful ignorance works well for her. Her ditzy personality combined with her feisty attitude make her a force to be reconned with – and very unpredictable. She has a good sense of humor and a knack for sarcasm that ensures life is never boring.
Although Marcia generally has a positive outlook, that is not the case when it comes to exceedingly handsome and arrogant men. She has had a string of bad luck, falling for men who seem to take their good looks to their heads. Between Ricky during her freshman year and Jeremy more recently, Marcia isn’t in a good state of mind when it comes to the idea of dating, especially if the man in question is too handsome and confident. Those men tend to cheat, and that hasn’t done Marcia any favors with her self-esteem.
NYC is her chance for a fresh start, and an opportunity to finally pursue her dreams.
Unfortunately, the move from Orlando to the big city has proven to be a bigger challenge than she had anticipated, and her dreams must be put on hold. She and her bestie Susie arrived six months ago, and their savings are nearly exhausted. Becoming an indie documentary filmmaker won’t work if she and Susie are evicted. Marcia is horrible with financial matters, but Susie has run the numbers and their time is running out. Marcia had graduated from a small Florida college with a degree in art history, which didn’t give her many marketable skills, but she decided to shoot high and hope for the best.
The ad for a president of marketing at Winchester Enterprises is sure to have a hefty paycheck, so Marcia doesn’t hesitate to apply despite her lack of all requisite skills. She might even have embellished a bit of her resume, but she figures she can learn what she needs to on the job. Her resumé doesn’t pass the test, but she does luck out with landing a temp position at the company. With any luck, it will lead to a permanent job down the road. She cannot afford to turn down anything at this point, as the days in her apartment are numbered.
When she and Susie go out for drinks to celebrate, she finds herself the object of a handsome man’s attention. His confidence and persistence are a turn-off, and she has no problem repeatedly dissing him. He claims to have never been turned down before and seems to enjoy the challenge. His green eyes are captivating, but not nearly tempting enough. She and Green Eyes cross paths again, as fate seems to have its own mind. They enjoy plenty of banter, and Marcia’s lack of a filter leads to some very entertaining exchanges. Just when she begins to consider getting out of her comfort zone and giving the mysterious Green Eyes a chance, fate brings another twist to her story.
Finneus Augustus Winchester, thirty-five, is the CEO of Winchester Enterprises and has a reputation for being a difficult man to work for. When Marcia gets assigned to his office, she worries that her new job has a very limited lifespan. With so much riding on her paycheck, she has to hope that she can muddle through her assignments and keep her big mouth closed.
Marcia finds herself challenged in unexpected ways. As she tries to find balance in her new life, she and Susie make new friends with Lilian and Shantal. The girls all offer her support as she contemplates dating once again. Marcia eventually finds a happy ending.
Watch for Susie’s story in P.S. Not If You Were the Last Man On Earth. Her story is with Finn’s best friend Brody, who is also introduced in this book.
Marcia’s story is a light romp about following dreams and finding love unexpectedly in the big city. She has a dismal record with dating, but when she is ready to start again, she plans to be more selective. She is not interested in one-night stands or cheaters. She wants a basic normal man, not a lady killer. In the meantime, she hopes to begin filmmaking documentaries. Paying the rent proves to be a more urgent matter, though, and it brings with it some unexpected changes.
This wacky rom-com is full of laughs – twenty-eight by my count. This is a light dialogue-heavy read and a great pick-me-up to lighten the mood. Marcia’s ditzy personality often comes across as child-like. Her lack of a filter leads to many foot-in-mouth moments. Her air-brained comments are hilarious. She seems out of her element much of the time and comes across much like a silly high schooler rather than a twenty-five-year-old woman. When inspired, however, a different side emerges.
Marcia is soured on handsome men, but fate steps in when the mysterious Green Eyes seems to pop up wherever she turns. This wacky NYC romance will have you in stitches. The story has a slight age gap. The plot is fairly simple. The characters are light but entertaining. The story is written in first person in Marcia’s POV. I rate this book 4.5 stars for its many laugh-out-loud moments.
I received an advance copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I love a humorous story and this one made me giggle like a moron lol. Finn and Marcia were so opposite and it made for a perfect banter between these two that I couldn’t get enough of!!
This book had so much potential, but failed. It started off strong, I loved both characters, I loved the idea but suddenly he was ALL IN, they both said they're in love they go on a trip and say I love you and the book is over. They literally barely met. Insert eyeball here. I loved the initial idea but there was so much about her job, finances etc were left hanging not seeing any growth from her. They don't have any real relationship, they have sex twice and now the book is over? Bringing in his little brother, we would've like her to have a day with then. They bring her parents into, but they never visit and meet her beau. The two bffs are clearly hooking up in book two, ok but the fact both characters came to NY together and the bff didn't get a teaching job she wanted no growth for her and our FMC started the book out sounding so immature it was hard to like her. She didn't have a job, let her bestie do the finances, joked she didn't want to work and wanted to marry a billionaire made you cringe. Our hope was she would learn to enjoy her job and make her own money, we'd see both girls move into a bigger apt, get their debt gone while she and Finn dated. That never happens, sounds like he's going to fund her dream of being a documentary film maker? They also point out she's city and not into the outdoors he's super active loving outdoor activities, dreams of being in the mountains full time. Does he get a HEA? Ends on her going camping, Finn invites her bff and his own. We don't get to even see them camping, all we know is the two girls watch Finn unload. I was screaming in my head. She doesn't pitch in, doesn't say ok baby show me I wasn't too learn everything, let's pitch the tent. She's shocked they have to cook over a campfire (uh ok?) But the writer eliminates her chance to show Finn age wafts to try, that she can fall in love with his stuff. It's like a bird and a fish falling in love with no chance of making a home together. With no growth why do we care if they're together? It's like the author had a fun feisty idea for a book then suddenly deviated to I love you HEA done? Did the author get pushed to finish the book quickly to pay her own bills? Unfortunately I have no desire to get excited by another book and get let down...thankfully it was on Kindle unlimited free to read and I don't feel too badly about wasting money but my time...yeah sad. So much potential. And when she threw in the joke about hallmark movies no spice...well Not too spicy esp after he made a comment about ass licking? He didn't even bother for a spank or bite. Plus classic hallmark rush from hi my name is...to Bam I love you, the End :(

Yet another fast read from this author. Teasing, fibs and a truly nice guy. What more could you want. The authors ability to have two separate individuals struggling in their everyday life and try to navigate someone else’s thoughts, needs and desires was intense and gives all the fills. fills.

This is a love story that is created from friendship, loyalty and the need to make each other live again. There are wonderful twists and turns in this book and I'm personally so grateful I was gifted a copy for an honest review, it was such a good book. The book was very well written and moved without any gaps in the story. I highly recommend this book it will keep you captivated to the very Happy Ever after!
Marcia Lucas is finally successful by landing a temp job at the coveted Winchester Enterprises. Marcia decides to celebrate her good fortune with her best friend Susie. While out Marcia meets an annoyingly handsome man who keeps trying to chat her up. Marcia brutally rebuffs him not really knowing who the guy is. Marcia first day at her new job doesn’t go as expected yet she manages to stay in employed by the company. Marcia makes new friends and enjoys her time yet still no matter where she goes, the guy that she met at the bar who she dubs “Green Eyes” seems to know where she is. As Marcia gets more and more comfortable at her new job, the mysterious guy never leaves her alone. In truth the guy is Finn Winchester yet doesn’t want to tell Marcia who he really is. Of course, when Marcia finds out that the self-same guy happens to be Finn will she still hate him or fall for him, when Finn is already captivated by her. This contemporary rom com is what Ms. JS Cooper excels at and just knows how to tell quite well! Also, she just knows how to tell it while keeping her audience very entertained! The story is light-hearted even though there are periods of tough times that the heroine has managed to overcome. The humor is spot on and pretty cringe worthy yet manages to make even anyone feeling grumpy smile. Marcia the spirited mouthy heroine is just a total crack up. At times you almost want to shake her or at least tell her to practice some restraint especially when it comes to learning how to keep quiet. Yet still she’s fun and knows how to have a good time. It would be hard not to ghost her because she’d make a great friend. Finn the gorgeous hero knows how to play up the mystery nicely. He’s not only a great hero but a great book boyfriend that of course he is added to the ever-growing list. I eagerly look forward to the next in the series about this great cast of characters too!
I received a complimentary early release copy of this e-book from the author prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.
---
This is only my second book I have read by this author, and I enjoyed it. It's a really different romance at work story than I have read before. It's the first book in a new series and while I enjoyed it its only told in the first person by the female lead, Marcia Lewis. We never get the male POV, Finn's at all and I really wanted to hear his thoughts.
Marcia Lewis is a fun and quirky character, and I really liked her a lot. Which is good because this story is only in her POV. She really was a very different character, and she is 25 and a woman who moved to NYC from Florida. She needs money bad and is going to be a temp. While celebrating she meets Mr Green Eyes and she is attracted but she is very anti hot guys and so she is not interested. That is until she cannot stop running into him.
Finn is the male lead and what drove me batty is we don't meet him until about 50 percent into this story. We see hints of him, but we don't get the two characters together until far into the story. Then I felt things moved a bit fast for a guy who gave her so many contracts to sign and tests to pass. But I did like them together. I loved that he really appreciated Marcia's personality and how much he seemed to be into her.
At times I felt Marcia was immature, but I felt that I liked that about her. She was a bit kooky, but it really worked, and it made her a character I really enjoyed getting to know. Watching Finn get charmed by her, I totally got why he liked her so much.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review
This is the story or Marcia and Finn. She is a girl who has been looking for a job for a while and when she gets one she goes out to celebrate with her bestie. At this bar she meets a really good looking guy but shuts him down right away because in the past she had been burned in the past. I am sad to say that this was the beginning of my Marica is so just quiet rude to that guy and I didn't see how it was necessary to be so rude. I get it, you have been burned in the past but not every good looking guy is going to be a total jerk to you. She did not make this book easy for me either and the whole thing is told from her point of view only. Finn is the owner and CEO of Winchester Enterprises. When he goes out to a bar one night he sees a woman that catches his eye and he just has to go over and speak to her to get to know her. Well surprise buddy you just got very very rudely told to get lost. They run into each other several times after this and she has no idea that he is about to be her new boss because of the job she got through the temp company. Marcia ruined this book for me. It was cute and the banter got better but man I had this really hard time liking her at all.
