I’ve waited an eon to find you. You, my bride, the other half to my soul. But I noticed you too late, the annual fete that was supposed to bring us together not your time to shine. My need for you threatens us all… Nonetheless, I will have you. The world is meaningless without you. Love me. Bow to me. Revere me.
Edony
I was supposed to be safe. My years as an eligible maiden were behind me, so no fae should have sought my hand at the Fae King’s Fete. Yet you caught me breaking the rules, and my fate rested in your hands. Instead of banishing me to the labyrinth of madness surrounding your castle, you vowed to let the world crumble to have me at your side. But I won’t let you sacrifice everyone I care for—everyone in your kingdom—for me. To escape you, I’ll go willingly into the maze. I’ll keep running so you never find me. You will never break me. I will never yield to your desires.
Even though I crave you. Even though when I close my eyes, all I see is your face.
Revere Me is a steamy fantasy romance recommended for ages 17+ for mature themes and scorching romantic tension. First serialized on Kindle Vella, this episodic novel reads as a dark fairy tale in the vein of Beauty and the Beast.
Lina Jubilee loves reading, writing, drinking tea, and rooting for her favorite fictional romances. When not lost in a book, she cooks dinner at lunchtime, plans errands in fewer trips, and does everything she can to get back to romping through fictional worlds ASAP.
I didn’t like Edony. Brecc fought for them, and he realized pretty quickly that fighting for their love was the right thing not only for them, but for everyone. Edony just didn’t. Never questioned anything. Never stopped to think that maybe the labyrinth wasn’t a good thing, that it was trapping more than the minotaur and that those creatures (some of which she considered friends) were suffering, trapped inside and hunted by the monster. Not until multiple people spelled it for her close to the end. And even then she dragged her feet. Not to talk about the nonsense that is the plot. Why did it matter who the fae king married, if the labyrinth wasn’t a Fae creation? Why was the existence of the maze dependent on anyone’s marriage in the first place? Why didn’t the minotaur die when the maze disappeared, if the maze’s very existence was tied to the minotaur’s? Why didn’t the maze weaken when the minotaur was wounded? And c’mon, all it took was Ebony saying to “let go of the darkness” and “rest” for the minotaur to die? A creature that had hunted others FOR FUN for centuries on end? A creature that the strongest warriors could not defeat? Yeah, right.

I don’t write many reviews , but I had to for this book!!! I got this on stuff your kindle day on a whim and I’m SOOO happy I did, I was hooked on this world! You won’t regret this one, I would love to see more from chip, gob, edony, and the rest of the gang! Seriously love love love this book!
I'm sorry but Brecc is just so unlikable and has no redeeming quality, even if he is "changed" by the end of the whole thing. His only motivation is an obsession and to be honest, going against the EXPLICIT wishes of the woman he supposedly loves.
Myth, magical labyrinth maze, Fae, humans, trolls, elf-cats and all sorts of unusuals. Not really a genre for me, usually. I wonder how people think this stuff up, haha! But, I did get invested in the characters and story.
25 stars because I forgot that I had even read this. I was just going through my Kindle. I saw that I was 98% through this book, but I couldn’t for the life of me. Remember what it even was.
Now that my memory is jogged, it was a good fantasy book, but clearly did not leave an impression.
This is a darker retelling of Beauty and the Beast. It is entertaining and steamy. Brecc and Edony have an dynamic that is interesting. I enjoyed the flow of the story along with the pacing.
Wonderful adult and darker version of a classic with great characters and good story line. I received a copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
