The family moved about a great deal when she was young. Her father always dreamed of retiring to Hawaii, and after he passed away in 1964 Johanna and her mother settled there to honor him.
In 1970, when she was still in school, she married Ralph Lindsey, becoming a young housewife. The marriage had three children; Alfred, Joseph and Garret, who already have made her a grandmother. After her husband's death, Johanna moved to Maine, New England, to stay near her family.
Johanna Lindsey wrote her first book, Captive Bride in 1977 "on a whim", and the book was a success. By 2006, with over 58 Million copies of her books have been sold worldwide, with translations appearing in 12 languages, Johanna Lindsey is one of the world's most popular authors of historical romance.
Johanna's books span the various eras of history, including books set in the Middle Ages, the American "Old West" and the popular Regency England-Scotland. She has even written a few sci-fi romances. By far the most popular among her books are the stories about the Malory-Anderson Family, a Regency England saga.

This is part one of this review of this book. I do not own this book and I don't think I will be able to obtain a copy of this book. This book was released in Australia and is a combination of the first two Malory Novels. The first one is Love Only Once, number 2 is Tender Rebel. I just finished reading Love Only Once.
Love Only Once is the introduction to the Malory Family. The Malory's consist of mostly men. There was one girl but her and her husband died in a fire. The girl now in the Malory family is the boy's niece Regina. She is the spitting image of her mother and all the men love her dearly and have raised her.
This is not my first Malory book. I read one of these books before so I was not new to the family. I knew the story of how Regina married but it was nice to finally read the book that started the whole series. Love Only Once is the story of Regina Ashton and Nicholas Eden. I laughed, and cried reading this book. Regina is a very spirited woman with a run of being proud in her.
Both Nicholas and Regina learn a lot about themselves in this book. The good and the bad. Now part 2 of this book. The second part of the book is Tender Rebel. I love Johanna Lindsey!! Her books always make me smile, cry, laugh and just really enjoy my time reading. This is book number 2 in the Malory novels and once again Johanna does a great job in making you love the Malory men and hate them at the same time.
This is the story of Anthony Malory and Lady Roslyn Chadwick. Roslyn needs to marry in a rush so that her cousin doesn't marry her and steal the Chadwick fortune. Roslyn does not have Anthony Malory on her list of possible candidates but when he first sees her across the garden at one of the parties he is smitten and decided that she will be his next conquest.
The story is entertaining because Roslyn is Scottish and when her temper is up she breaks into her Scottish Brogue and that turns Anthony Malory on even more. You are once again seeing Regina and Nicholas Eden, James, Jason, Edward, Jeremy Malory and the whole Malory clan.
The Malory brothers are surprised when Anthony Malory decides to ask Roslyn to marry him. Their marriage is one that Roslyn doesn't want because Anthony is a rake and she knows that her heart will only be broken because you can never change a rake. I loved how Roslyn would make rules for their marriage expecting Anthony to be thrilled with them. Such as letting him still have mistresses

There are 2 great stories in this book, the first 2 of the series on the Malory's.
Love Only Once
Regina Ashton, niece to Jason, Edward, James and Anthony Malory is in her 3rd season and is tired of looking for a husband. Nicholas Eden has just tired of his latest mistress – he kidnaps Regina thinking she is his mistress and is surprised to find she is not. He has ruined her and she has decided he will be her husband and with the help of her Uncles he is forced into marriage. He then seduces Regina, all part of a plan for her not to marry him but they marry even though he tried very hard to make Regina jilt him. I would have loved them to have spoken to each other and gotten over their differences earlier than they did but I enjoyed the story all the same.
Tender Rebel
Roslynn Chadwick is running away to England from her home in Scotland to go so that her cousin Geordie Cameron cannot force her into marrying him. Now that her father has died and left everything to Roslynn, Geordie wants to marry her so it can be his and that is not going to happen so she is off to find herself a husband.
Anthony Malory is at this party to watch over his niece Reggie when he sees Roslynn and is captivated by her at that first meeting and before he knows it he is offering to marry her – he did not know where that came from.
The fun did not end there; Roslynn had ideas of what marriage could be like and had some conditions for Anthony which he was happy to go along with.
I loved this story as much as I have all the stories about each of the Malory’s – they are a loveable bunch of people and all the men have been rogues who are reformed when they find the love of their life, but never without a fight.

I always have a hard time giving reviews on novels I really enjoyed. The First Book "Love Only Once" is about a 19 year old in the 19th century trying to look for a proper suitor but her Uncles don't seem to approve of anyone she actually took a liking to. Our hero of the novel is introduced as a man who will never settle down and is known as a sort of "Cassanova". He plays a prank on one of his mistresses but it backfires when he kidnaps the wrong girl. Her Uncles are outraged and force a marriage upon the two to save her reputation.
Hero doesn't want a marriage but does want a consumation and heroine wants both. Terrible review but overall, what Im trying to say is, I love this book. Its a great read.
The second novel follows the two still single, rakish Uncles. Anthony falls for a Scot lady only to find out her cousin Cameron was after her hand in marriage, eager to marry her wallet. Our Scottish lady, Roselyn(forgotten her name...its probably roselyn) loathes Cassanovas, a category Anthony falls under, and so does not trust Tony. Despite all that, shes drawn to him by his sexiness and they end up married but her lack of trust keeps a barrier between the two. Anthony's brother, James, stays around to enjoy Anthony's turmoil with his new wife and pining after a young Scot Lady he'd been with for the whole of...2 minutes.
Both novels are full of love, lust, adventure and humour; a lovely blend that eased into the plot and enticed me to love the book and author.

Love the Malory clan. All the brothers and how close knit they are.
Gotta be honest I feel like kicking Nicholas so many times for everything he put Regina through. But those Malory brothers especially anthony and James made it up for the whole story.
And Regina's such a strong heroine.
