A rainbow of animals inhabit the popular annual series The Tales from the Chinese Zodiac. This is the only series in English that features each of the animals of the Lunar New Year. We've completed twelve unique adventures and are revising each new edition with a bilingual translation in simplified Chinese. Now we have a limited edition box set that collects the whole series.
Our new series The Asian Hall of Fame explores fantastic inventions from Asia. Each is the first English children's picture book on the subject. Dao is a cute red panda who brings the kids Emma and Ethan back in time... and then back to the future! Their first trip was The Discovery of Ramen. The sequel was the The Discovery of Fireworks and Gunpowder.
I'm also the publisher of Immedium (www.immedium.com) which is a San Francisco publisher of children's books and contemporary art and culture. Our titles include the original tales of The Octonauts (www.octonauts.com), which is now a hit animated TV series worldwide and airs on the Disney Channel in the USA and Netflix.

The illustrations of this book look like they're from a cartoon. The story was cute. I enjoyed the writing.

I apparently read this book three and a half years ago and gave it three stars. I'm changing it to 2 stars. The writing actually isn't spectacular. And the illustrations are done by illustrators who work on well known cartoons :-p Lol. Re-visiting is good, though I don't remember reading this at all.

I was so happy to find this cute book from the Chinese Zodiac. The story follows a baby tiger named, Teddy, that hears about how bad humans are and to stay far away from them. Curiosity gets the better of him so he seeks out humans and finds a young girl named Su. Even though humans warn against tigers and tigers warn against humans, Teddy and Su become friends. No spoilers. I definitely recommend this book! Beautiful illustrations. Bright and colorful. I really loved the book.

Awkward English translations at times. Story is choppy and robotic in English. The ending to the plot was fine and predictable, but the last of the text was strange. Colourful animation-like illustrations.

Teddy Tiger, the young price of the jungle befriends a human named Su, and together they become the best of friends and prove to their parents that man and beast can live in harmony.

This is a bilingual children's book great for learning more Mandarin or Chinese, whichever way you go. This series uses the Chinese Zodiac as characters to tell the story. This story focuses on Tiger, the king of the jungle.
The tigers live in the jungle while people are invading their territory. The cub is curious and makes his way to the human village. Everyone is terrified of this little cub. Yet, the girl and the cub form and unlikely friendship. Unlike Romeo and Juliet, both sides come together as friends to hang out for family BBQs.
Cute little story.

April 29, 2016This book is a contemporary book that talks about the ancient tradition of the Chinese zodiac. It teaches the reader about what the year of the tiger is in Chinese traditions and really opens up their eyes to new information.
The bright colors really make the page pop. The use of the colors make the pages seem fun and really come to life and the texture that the illustrator makes the book in some aspects feel more real. There is limited texture, but where there is, it becomes a great plus.
There are a lot of emotions in this book. The big facial expressions really help the reader engage in the book. It also makes them feel the emotion that the characters are feeling.
