Newlyweds, Royce Locke and Sawyer Key, embark on a honeymoon road trip where their biggest threat should be dodging drunk tourists on golf carts. But their arrival on South Bass Island lands them in the middle of a contentious battle between lifelong islanders and a property developer who won’t accept no for an answer. Tempers soar as the barometric pressure drops, signaling a dangerous storm brewing on the horizon and across the street. Minding their own business becomes impossible when a homicide wrecks their vacation and puts Royce and Sawyer in the path of a twisted killer.
Will their honeymoon be two tickets to paradise or a one-way trip to the morgue?
Killer Honeymoon is book three in the Matrimony and Mayhem trilogy, the second story arc for Royce Locke and Sawyer Key. ** New readers should start with the Zero Hour trilogy before reading Matrimony and Mayhem. ** Killer Honeymoon is a continuation of Royce and Sawyer’s happily ever after as they move into the next phase of their lives—professionally and personally. Though some storylines span the trilogy, this book does not end in a cliffhanger. Heat, humor, heart, and homicide abound. You have been warned. 18+
I'm a wife and mother of three teenage kids. I've been married to the same wonderful man for twenty years. I've decided that if I can survive raising three kids then I can survive anything!! I haven't uttered the Mama's curse yet, but it could happen any day now. You know the one..."I hope you have a child just like you someday."
I'm an avid reader and lover of all things romance. I've spent my entire adult life waiting to follow my dreams of becoming a writer. One day this past summer, I decided to just do it. No more wishing and hoping. I haven't quit my day job, but that is my ultimate goal...make a living telling stories of love.
I write contemporary gay fiction. I hope you will love reading my books as much as I enjoy writing them.
“Have you always looked at me like this?” “Only every second of every day.”
I will do a proper review for this one later but I just finished reading this book, way too late into the night for someone who works very early in the morning tomorrow. But I could not put this book down. I just had to keep reading and reading. This book was just perfect, to me.
This is the sixth book in the lives of Sawyer and Royce and they are tying the knot and going on their honeymoon. And it was so rewarding to read after having read about this couple for 6 books, it felt like the perfect way to end the series for me and I adored every seconds of it.
This is only my ninth 5 stars book of the entire year but I couldn’t see myself rate this one any differently because I thought that it was perfect. This book has a super interesting murder investigation. But mostly, it’s just about Saywer and Royce being a cute couple and having a lot of domestic moments. And I could read about those any day. There is nothing more sweet to read all of their cute couple moments and how they handle their day to day life.
This book was everything I wanted it to be and I will never tire of reading about this couple. Sawyer and Royce are definitely my favourite book couple of all time, they are just the absolute best to me.
I received an arc of this book and this is my honest opinion
So much joy amid the murder as Royce & Sawyer say I Do!
Well that was perfect, I lost count of how many times I got teary at the beginning as Royce and Sawyer go through the preparations for their wedding day.
We also get the main event too and it’s beautifully described in strongly visual language that I could almost believe I was there, sat in the Hummingbird Café, listening to the smatterings of conversation, enjoying the scent of the flowers and the delicious food.
The action happens when the guys land on the wee island they’re honeymooning on and I really liked the murder mystery they find themselves embroiled in. It was different to the other cases we’ve watched them investigate as they’re mostly side-lined and obviously not officially on duty.
Frank, their neighbour who Sawyer has known for years, is such a character too, I love these grumpy old men who are irascible and set in their ways but also really kind hearted under the surface.
The murder itself also had an interesting twist I hadn’t expected and I liked how it all played out. This time no-one’s specifically after our guys, which makes the tension a little easier to handle!
I really hope this isn’t the end of Locke & Key. I know Aimee has said she’d like to return back to them and I’m crossing everything that she does but I am seriously stoked for getting both Topher/Julian and the Chief's romance with Sheriff Abe later on this year!
I’m going with 3.5 stars rounded up because even though the first few chapters were cavity inducing sweetness, I loved reflecting on how far these two have come from book 1 in the original series. They were practically growling at each other when they first met, and now they are getting married.
Of course, Sawyer and Royce can’t go on their honeymoon without some drama happening. In this case, it was a murder that pulled them away from their celebration. Don’t worry, they still had plenty of sexy times.
I really enjoyed the last chapter when all their loved ones came together again. I almost felt like we were saying goodbye. I hope not because I really fell in love with these two and all side characters. So please, Ms. Walker, keep going!!
This story was just meh to me. I honestly contemplated putting it down because I just wasn't feeling it. None of the hanging storylines were really addressed and the honeymoon mystery wasn't interesting even with all the new characters living on the island. I think I'm just losing interest in the characters - I even skipped a few of the sex scenes - as there's no real new development. The MCs are just very similar to each other now. Add in the mystery not being all that exciting for me and the story just didn't work. Not sure if I will pick up any new ones, but I am interested in the two spin-offs listed at the end of the story.
This is the second series for the detective couple of Sawyer Key and Royce Locke. Their story starts with the Zero Hour trilogy and now, hopefully only temporarily, concludes with their wedding and a honeymoon....to die for in this last story of the Matrimony and Mayhem trilogy. What a truly entertaining story this one proves to be. Aimee Nicole Walker incorporates all the elements that we expect from the couple’s relationship, humor, thoughtful introspection, respect, and deep abiding love as well lots of what M/M Romances are known for. She weaves a tale of murder carried out in a tiny resort town. One that they just happen to be honeymooning in. We get a moving wedding, a hilarious jaunt to their destination, and then a lakeside mystery and murder worthy of any romance novel no matter the genera. This author never lets our focus stray off of the fact that it’s Sawyer and Royce’s honeymoon, with all the resplendent joy and happiness they have in the fact they are each other’s husbands, with a new future and family ahead of them. We get to revel in that along with them. Whether they are investigating an element of the murder, or a break in, or some aspect of the fact they are newly married, it all threads nicely into the picture. As always, the surrounding cast only adds to the story. They are all well-defined and just plain terrific characters. We may not like all of them...but they are believable. It’s a mystery wrapped up in a suspenseful, edgy climax. The ending is so good and leaves us and them in a great place with the ability to make a return sometime in the future. Soon Ms. Walker...please soon.
5 Starry Honey-moony Stars!! 🤩❤️😍 This book was pretty perfect, it had the right balance of romance and a little bit of murder mystery without one over-shadowing the other. 😍 It was wonderful to see one of my favorite couples finally tie the knot in a beautiful ceremony 👨❤️👨. I loved the ambience and the simplicity with a touch of elegance at their wedding. There was also a wonderful surprise gift from the beyond and from Sawyer's best friend which showed a glimpse of what the future will hold for the two💕. But not so fast... before that wonderful future enfolds they still have their honeymoon to look forward to.. and so began the steamy sizzling and funny road-trip to their love-shack (cottage on an island on Lake Erie/at Put-In-Bay) Of course, where Royce and Sawyer go, trouble follows.. 😉; this time trouble was in the form of a group of vacationing twenty-somethings; a real-estate mogul, an oddball of a property manager and a buff body-guard/yacht-captain. Suspicious activities are followed by a hurricane-strength storm and then all hell breaks loose. Royce and Sawyer get entangled in the danger and have to not only find the killer on the loose, but also save a friend from wrongful conviction. In this race against time, will our heroes succeed, or will someone get hurt? 😳😱
I loved the book ❤️ ❤️ I couldn't put it down and read it in one day!! 🤩 I'm a little sad that the series is over, but the ending was cathartic. All of the running storylines for these two were closed satisfactorily. A couple of supporting characters introduced in this series, will have the opportunity to tell their stories.. and I'm excited about that 😍. I'm hoping that we'll hear about Royce and Sawyer's milestones in those stories, in the background or when they make a cameo appearance. Obviously it goes without saying that I highly recommend this book👍 👍 (but it's not a standalone, so start with the Zero Hour series and then onto the Sinister in Savannah series and then finally the current Matrimony and Mayhem series ; the fun is in the journey and not the destination.. plus it's so worth it! ❤️
What comes after the honeymoon? Murder, of course!
Better than the first two books in this second series with Sawyer and Royce—I highly recommend that you read the Zero Hour series to see them get together and grow as a couple.
This one is a honeymoon with a murder or two for fun.
I can't believe I'm giving a book about Royce Locke and Sawyer Key only 3 stars, but here we are. I adore this couple. I have loved every single book of theirs and have read other books in the Savannah universe just to get glimpses of them. I was so excited about their wedding and couldn't wait for all of the cameos it would bring about like some big book boyfriend hurrah. Instead I was left frowning because there really weren't any. Family members, yes. A couple of people from the last two books were there too. But no Sinister in Savannah couples. I don't even recall Candy or Tara being mentioned until the end of the book. Don't get me wrong, the wedding was sweet and beautiful and I teared up multiple times, but I guess I'd gotten my hopes up for some familiar faces and couldn't help but feel disappointed.
I went in to this book expecting the usual format of mystery first and romance a close second, but I guess with it being focused on their nuptials the author decided to switch things up. I agreed with another reviewer who said this would have served better as a novella because it felt very much like a side story. The majority of it took place on their honeymoon, so they were surrounded by a whole new cast of characters and found themselves embroiled in a mystery that took place outside of their jurisdiction, leaving their hands severely tied. It felt very disconnected from the rest of the series, like a "day in the life of" situation rather than a full length novel. I hate to say it, but I found my mind wandering multiple times and that has never happened to me before with these characters.
I am excited about what's to come, though. I had hoped that Julian the tailor would get a book and that wish is being granted in September. And we're finally going to find out what's going on with Mendoza and his "friend" (I'm totally blanking on names today) in November. So there will be more time spent in Savannah, which I'm sure will bring about more Locke and Key cameos. I just wish I could say I loved this book because I truly expected to.
Locke and Key got married with a beautiful ceremony! An as the book's name signifies, they're going on a killer honeymoon. LOL! I love them so much but I can't write any review because the end of the book blew me away!! I mean... Mendoza and Beecham!! Come on!! I need their book! Like, right now!!
Oh I love these guys. So much, so much, so much. And this was the perfect ending, even if I'm sad to see them go. Sawyer and Royce is probably my favorite book couple and their journey to finding their forever HEA has been a wild, wild ride. And now they got their send off with a wedding.
In this book, we mostly get to see them being in love. And happy. The murder doesn't happen until around the 60% mark and it's fast paced and doesn't for a minute take away from the love story.
At last I want to thank Florence for giving me the push to read Sawyer and Royce's books. Without that push I might still not have begun the series.
I had sort of hoped that after sleeping on it I'd feel more positive about this book but having mulled over just why I was so disappointed with this book, I'm even more convinced that it just didn't hit right.
It could be a case of me not the book but hear me out.
Firstly, my biggest problem with this book is that it felt like a novella. It should have been a cute little side story showcasing their wedding where the wedding itself was the sole focus. Instead, this felt like a novella and a cosy mystery crammed together and it just did not work for me. Least of all because it wasn't a comedic cosy mystery occurring during the wedding. The first half of this book was the wedding and the fluffiest fluff that I just...skimmed right through. Seriously, I was bored during the sex, it was depressing. The second half of this book is where the cosy mystery comes into play and probably the most interesting part of the book. Only it was so underwhelming compared to the kind of investigating these two normally do - hence it feels like a cosy mystery.
Secondly, somewhere between the original trilogy and this new one Royce and Sawyer have lost their unique voices and have just merged into the same person making it really hard to tell who's POV I'm reading from. This book does switch but there was no distinct voice separating these two so most of the time I had no idea who I was reading. Also, given what was happening in this book that made zero difference to the storytelling, it was just incredibly frustrating to have two unique characters who I loved blur together until they were the same sort of person. But I've noticed that alot lately in Walker's books, especially having reread the Curl Up & Dye books. By the end of that series Gabe and Josh's voices had blended until they sort of read like the same personality. That's definitely happening here. I know Royce is softening and becoming more secure but that seems to look a lot like him becoming Sawyer 2.0.
Thirdly, the cast of characters in this one just got out of hand. Too many new people, not enough focus on characters we already love and I hate when characters get introduced who the MCs have known all their lives (sorry Frank, you were great but came out of nowhere) but has never been mentioned before. Not to mention this one was starting to suffer a bit from being part of a wider world rather than a unique series of its own. There seemed a little too much focus on other characters priming us for new spin-offs than what was happening in this book. And I've found most of the spin-offs from this series a drag.
Finally, let's talk about the hanging plot lines from the previous two books in this sequel trilogy. Because they were nowhere to be found in this book. Royce's brother still robbing places with his little gang? No idea. What about the bits of Sawyer's past at the Sheriff's office that made such an impact on him in the last book? Not even mentioned in passing. We did get a little look into one of the cold cases that cropped up through Sinister in Savannah at the end there but I think that was probably inserted as a potential for a Chicago based spin-off and not for any real reason.
I just can't help feeling like I came away from this having read the wrong book.
Royce and Sawyer are back for their honeymoon in the final book of the spinoff trilogy! I love them so much and this book is no different! Established relationships, especially when we see them meet and fall in love through a span of books, just hits different.
Romantic suspense is one of my favourite genres and I really love this series. Killer Honeymoon had some great secondary characters and I also enjoyed the mystery part of the plot.
“Have you always looked at me like this?” “Only every second of every day.”
Also I cannot wait for Abe and Mendoza's book!! Finally!!! Highly recommend this series in order!

“You’re making a right tramp of yourself, Bones.” “Like father like son,” Sawyer murmured as he walked by, pulling two rolling suitcases behind him. [I didn't actually find anything worth highlighting in this book so I stole this highlight form someone else cause like Bones is my dude.]
3.75 ⭐
The last book in the Sawyer and Royce 2nd series, Marriage Is Murder, and I have to say I’m still in the same position I was in since the 1st series in book one. I don’t know what it is about this fucking series and these god damn men that have me cringing from here to Timbuktu, but there is something there that I can’t get past. Something about their horny teenage antics that have me leaving them in the 3.75 territory every single fucking time.
These two fucking cheesy-as-fuck lovebirds just always shy away from that 4 star for me every single time. But enough boo-hooing about ratings. This book was fun. We get to see these two deeply in love/lust men get married and have a vacation in Ohio. Yeah girl, I said that right. Ohio. By fucking Cedar Point — girl, that place where everyone from Indiana always goes if we want some fun, or like Kings Island. So I knew where they were talking about. Put-In-Bay. Like, I’ve never been there, don’t really want to go, but I know the place, ya know? My Midwestern lifestyle is coming in handy for real.
Anyways, we get to watch — like all cop/mystery/FBI/all-that-in-one type of shit series — as our men try to have a sexy, fun, sex-filled honeymoon but end up trying to solve a murder. It works every time in these types of books. I love me a good mystery, and though, like most of the mysteries in this series, even me with 2 brain cells figured out the mystery. But the fun part about THESE books is going along with them as THEY figure it out. That’s my motto on mystery books in general: it could be a basic-ass fucking mystery, as long as it’s fun watching our main characters solve it, you know? And it was.
We meet some real characters in this one. Then we wrapped the whole series up with a bow in the end, preparing us for the next series, which I am sure I will get to at some point in the future.
Overall, even though I talk shit about Sawyer and Royce and how they make me cringe, and I usually gotta skip most of the sex scenes because I’m annoyed by them being horny 24/7, I still enjoy the series overall and like them as characters. Like, I enjoy reading series with the same couple over and over again, and I will admit they have matured since book 1, so I will give that to them. I can’t wait to see what exciting shit happens in the future with them.
I'm surprised to see I only gave this 3.5 stars. I loved it this time around. I'm upping it to 4.5 stars. Now I'm anxious to read The Paternity Puzzle.
Original Review- January 23, 2023
3.5 stars
I absolutely love Sawyer and Royce, but I thought this was slow, and even a little boring. It was wonderful to see them finally tie the knot, but after that, the book dragged. Once they reached the island for their honeymoon, and they met an assortment of characters, things got more intense, but I wasn't really even interested in the murders or finding the killer. I am, however, very interested in reading the story of chief Mendoza and Abe.
Kind of a no Hitter, definitely a miss. The story to sex ratio is 30/70. I skipped the chapters and chapters of sex, it was a quick read- the other Savanna storyline books have great plots and character development sadly lacking here
Trust Royce and Sawyer to find a mess to get in the middle of, even on their honeymoon. I enjoyed the way Aimee Nicole Walker wove the romantic wedding and honeymoon scenes with the mystery and suspense storyline. A fun read!
This book had we crying a few pages in and then when we get to their wedding day I just cried more. The furst look photoshoot before the wedding is what started it. They just love each orther so much, it just flows off the page. I was just so happy to see them finally married and truly happy, they both deserve it.
The wedding night sex was some of the hottest, the corset Sawyer worse is what did it. It was Royce's fantasy come to life! Lets just say that they have an awful lot of sex in this one but what do you expect, it is their honeymoon after all!
Even when trying to enjoy their holiday, they just can't help finding things to solve. There is a grumpy old man, very stupid young people, a suspicious property developer, and even a storm to deal with. Lets just be glad that the murder wasn’t till about 60% in and I was glad for it, I enjoyed murder free Royce and Sawyer time! When people start being murdered they just can’t help butting into the investigation, they just can’t help themselves. I so didn't guess who it was and why. It was a great liitle bit of mystery shoved in there but it wouldn't have been their book without it. The murder was try evil and was determined to carry out his plan. The murders were pretty nasty and brutal, but the killer wasn’t a nice man at all. He seemed nice of the surface but he had a act going on! When they finally go to finish it, they have to go ahead alone and without their usual means. They have no guns and no backup, but the latter is a choice they make. They show us how badass they still are!
The ending really wrapped up the whole trilogy and Gain made me cry, it was Sawyer's present to Royce that did me in. We see Royce finally start his job in the explorer program and the new aspect of his career. I'm excited for the next two books coming. We are getting Topher's story and I'm looking forward to getting to know him better. The best news us that we are finally getting Chief Mendoza and Sheriff Leo's story, that but with them at the end was so hot! It was a teaser of whats to come. I'm looking forward to seeing Royce and Sawyer finally becoming parents, they will both be amazing dads.
I received a copy of this book from Gay Romance Reviews, and this is my honest review.
Oh, boy. I don't know how many stars to give this book. The first part of the book was kind of like a loooooooong epilogue - so similar to many romance novels where we see the MCs getting married. The rehearsal dinner, spending the night apart, Sawyer's special wedding attire, "first look" on their wedding day... Royce turned around before she could even think to say two. His beautiful gray eyes filled with tears as he cupped Sawyer’s face and said, “Hi.” “Hi, yourself,” Sawyer replied as his eyes misted over too. Royce pressed his forehead to Sawyer’s. “Have you always looked at me like this?” “Only every second of every day.” ...the ceremony, the reception... god, it was all so perfect and sugary sweet. I kind of wish that had been a standalone .5 book or an epilogue to the fifth book.
The second part of the book revolved around the murder mystery which happened on their honeymoon. It was just... meh... okay, not great. There were too many characters for my taste. Frank, who played such an important role in the beginning of the mystery was literally He became one of the least important characters. It was a strange character arch.
The last chapter or two are a set up for the next books featuring Topher/Julian and Abe/Medoza. I haven't heard if Sawyer and Royce will get another book. There's a lot of talk in this and the previous book about them becoming parents so... I guess we will have to wait and see.
I do love ANW's humor... “How much is a megaton again?” Sawyer smiled, and the tension around his eyes and mouth lessened, but his lips still held a slight pout. “More than a shit ton but less than a fuckton.” ... “Fellas,” Royce said to get their attention. “We could debate Evan’s homophobia or Clint’s declaration of enlightenment, which I struggle to believe since he’s shouting at an elderly man and behaving like a complete jackass, but I have better things to do. Gay things if you catch my drift.” ... “And then?” Royce asked because he could tell by Sawyer’s expression that his mind was spinning. Sawyer met his gaze and smirked. “The only option we have.” When Royce only quirked a brow, Sawyer continued. “We’ll want to stay off Chesterfield’s radar, so we’ll have to discreetly Hardy Boys this shit.”
I also loved that driving to their honeymoon destination they were listening to an audiobook. They’d flipped a coin to see who drove the first leg, and Royce had won—or lost, depending on the viewpoint. They’d also laid down some ground rules. There would be no audiobooks while Sawyer drove, so Royce behind the wheel meant Sawyer got to pick their entertainment. “I think I’ve found a series you’ll love too,” Sawyer said excitedly. “There are several books that follow the same couple. Their journey begins as reluctant partners in a police department. Sound familiar?” “Nope,” Royce said. “I was an absolute delight on your first day with the department.” Sawyer rolled his eyes and pushed Play on chapter one. Royce was fully sucked into the story before they left the driveway. “This narrator sounds familiar. Is this the same guy who caused you to run the stop sign?” “Shut up and listen to the book.”
Don't get me wrong. I love that Sawyer and Royce got their happy ending. I needed that. I guess I just wish it had it had been an epilogue or .5 novella. I guess I'll go with 3.5 stars.
Being the last book of this trilogy ... the plot focus skews heavily toward the romance aspects of the MC's relationship. Those who appreciate M-M romance will appreciate that almost the first quarter is devoted to Royce and Sawyer's wedding (which also gives the author much scope to 'tidy up' the plot-threads of many of the secondary familial characters featured in the previous two books).
Then multiple cock-blocking devices were used once the MCs got ensconced in their honeymoon lodgings; interfering neighbors, phone calls from home, severe thunderstorms ... and of course murder. I have to admit I got a little weary of all the 'can we have sex now?' before our boys could finish their sleuthing forays into the suspects as the body count started ramping up in the last 50 pages; alas there was some fast-forwarding of pages. I doubt I'd continue with the the author's new series involving a couple of secondary policing colleagues of our MCs (not even the hint of Sawyer and Royce acquiring more furry babies or actual human babies will tempt me). 2.5 stars rounded up to 3.
I love Royce and Sawyer but this book was a little disappointing. The first half was honeymoon sex followed by a second half with (in my view) a less than interesting murder/suspense whodunit. And finally the end is populated by a ton of people I didn't even know who they were. I suspect prior characters in prior stories.
On the favorable side there was a lot of cute banter between our lovebirds, two guys very much in love, and that made my world brighten. I hope we haven't seen the last of them.
Not much happens in this book besides Royce and Sawyer being domestic (that's the focus of this entire trilogy to be fair). The mystery was easily solved and wasn't especially diverting. I like this couple well enough, but even at this point and after six books I can't say I'm as besotted with them as I'd like to be. Still, I'm curious about Topher's and Mendoza's upcoming stories.
This book is not typical of the rest of the series in the fact that they are not at home when the mystery happens. It is still so good because the fundamental thing about these books is the relationship between Locke and Key. Sawyer and Royce can’t even go on their honeymoon without getting into trouble. We shouldn’t really be that surprised. GB and the Wildcard are at it again! (I’d use their other nicknames but those names would get me in trouble here.😂) I love these guys so much. The first bit of the book chronicling their wedding brought sappy tears to my eyes and is going to make me need to reread the first trilogy. The best is yet to come as they move into the next chapter of their lives. I can’t wait to see what happens next in Aimee Nicole Walker’s Savannah series! (I may or may not have already preordered the next books.)

Veronica – ☆☆☆☆ KILLER HONEYMOON is the sixth book featuring Sawyer and Royce and the third one in the Matrimony and Mayhem series. We finally get to see the men tie the knot. After all we have been through with this couple it was wonderful to see them getting married, and I’m not ashamed to say I teared up three times in the first chapter.
The men take their honeymoon on a beautiful island on a lake that made me want to go on holiday. But it doesn’t take long for trouble to show up. Young people partying in the house across the street causing trouble, a rich developer buying up property on the island, an old local who won’t sell up, and a storm all cause trouble for the Sawyer and Royce, who are trying to enjoy their honeymoon.
I really enjoyed the way this story played out. There is a lightness to this story that we haven’t experienced with Royce and Sawyer. KILLER HONEYMOON felt like reading a cozy mystery. I smiled a lot while reading this story. It was really quite fun and, of course, it was also a little bit sexy too.
It has been an absolute pleasure to read Royce and Sawyer’s romance and I wonder where to next for the men. If the author writes more stories of Royce and Sawyer, I will happily read them. I was thrilled to see at the end of the book that there are two spin-off novels being released later this year, which I immediately pre-ordered. I loved KILLER HONEYMOON and all of Sawyer and Royce’s stories. I can’t recommend them highly enough.
Ruthie – ☆☆☆☆ This is the third book in this series, and definitely needs to be read in order to get all the underlying storylines!
Finally, our two heroes get their wedding day... all doubts and concerns dispelled and a new start for them both, together. We know from the title that things are going to get complicated whilst they are away. but what a really fun murder mystery has been created for us!
I loved the combination of a fabulous venue, plenty of outdoor activities, and plenty of sexy honeymoon fun with the drama caused by a property developer on a mission to buy up the local properties. We meet some pretty unsavoury characters, as well as some great locals who plan on resisting till the end. When the police get involved in a local murder, the two men cannot just stand by and watch – of course – so the tension ramps up, even when they are away from home!
Sexy, outdoorsy, and murderous adventures from Locke and Key – what is not to enjoy? I hope that we get some more from these guys, as I would happily read on.

Locke and Key's final adventure in this series was absolutely amazing! I am so glad that we got to see their wedding, especially after seeing these two fall more deeply in love with each other over 5+ books. In typical Royce and Sawyer fashion, trouble finds them on their honeymoon and they are able to put their considerable skills to use to help solve a crime in the small island community they are visiting for their honeymoon. I loved seeing these two work another case together after being separated at the station in book one and two of this series. It was a little throwback to OG Locke and Key and I loved it! The suspense storyline was outstanding but do we really expect anything else from Aimee Nicole Walker? 😁 I am so excited at the possibility of another series from these guys! I am holding out hopes for another three books because I am never going to be ready to say goodbye to these amazing men! Also, the teaser at the back of the book for Abe and Lio's story just might be my newly most anticipated release! I can't wait to see the history and background of these two and I am so excited to see what their HEA looks like!
What do I have to promise for more Royce and Sawyer? I wish I knew a word stronger than love because I’m finding it difficult to explain the ful scope and depth of my feelings for these two amazing men. They’re smart, sexy, mischievous, fun, balanced adults, and the true hearts of one another. I loved them when they were fighting their pull and I love them even more now that they are who they’ve become. Their love is all-encompassing, all-consuming, and it’s everything to me.
“Royce pressed his forehead to Sawyer’s. ‘Have you always looked at me like this?’ ‘Only every second of every day.’”
Gah, these two slay me in the best of ways and I can only hope we will see glimpses of their lives, or maybe a bigger one if we’re lucky, as the adorable Toph and the mysterious Emilio find their forever loves.
Though the love Sawyer and Royce have for each other is all I really need on my life, getting to watch them work seamlessly together as husband detectives is what puts them over the top. I love their banter and how they still give each other a hard time, how they understand what the other wants and needs without saying a word, and how they’ve become some of the finest, most upstanding heroes no matter where they go or what they face. Whatever they tackle, they never change the core of who they are or their love for each other and that is what makes them so absolutely special and spectacular.
