Akira Amano is the author and mangaka of the shonen manga Katekyo Hitman Reborn!
Amano began in 1998 with a job at Weekly Young Magazine. She also held a job at Shueisha Publishing Co, Ltd. In 2002, Amano participated in a contest for aspiring mangaka and was one of the lucky winners, with her comic Monkey Business published in Young Magazine. In 2004, she finally found success with the humourous and classy manga Katekyo Hitman Reborn! (or, for short, just Reborn!), and that thanks to her readers' support. This new manga was advertised more and more in Shonen Jump and became a hit. Two years later, her manga was made into an anime series by Artland studios.
Her ideas for Reborn!: Amano had some crazy ideas to entertain readers with. She came up with weird characters to add spice to the humour, a story written especially to be unique, and fast-paced action.
Other works: Boy Spin (1998) Hot Blast Baseball Legendary (1999) Pu Chipu Chirabii (2000) Monkey Business (2002) Tapir Hearts HAWK! (2003) Katekyo Hitman Reborn! (2004) Psycho-Pass (2012)(Original Character Design)
N.B.: Read this tankōbon online with unofficial translation (scanlation). Normally, I would not read scanlation as I typically would like to support the anime/manga community by buying the English translation. However, Viz Media has discontinued translating this series and sadly I am resorted to go online.
Reborn!, Vol. 22 continues where the previous tankōbon left off and contains the next ten chapters (196–205) of the on-going manga series.
The tankōbon continues the Future arc. As both Hayato Gokudera and Gamma rest for a short time to finish their fight, Gamma reveals he has a deep hatred of Byakuran, the leader of the Millefiore Family, believing that he did something to his boss Uni that caused her to become emotionally detached.
Meanwhile, Takeshi Yamamoto finds and fights Byakuran's strongest subordinate, Genkishi. Yamamoto tries to use the knowledge he gained from the adult Superbi Squalo's fights he watched during his training to defeat Genkishi's illusions, but he is knocked out. At the same moment, Chrome Dokuro, Lambo, I-pin and Kyōya Hibari's subordinate, Tetsuya Kusakabe, invade the Millefiore base, while Tsunayoshi "Tsuna" Sawada and Spanner are attacked by several Millefiore members.
Before Yamamoto is finished off, the adult Hibari appears to fight against Genkishi. Although he manages to fight at the same level, Hibari runs out of rings and weapons and is overpowered. As Hibari is about to be killed, he is suddenly replaced by his younger self.
This tankōbon is written and illustrated by Akira Amano. It continues the Future arc in which Tsunayoshi "Tsuna" Sawada and eventually his contemporaries travelling ten years into the future by Lambo's Ten Year Bazooka in order to confront the Millefiore Famiglia and save the future. This tankōbon continues the narrative of Tsuna and his allies trying to get back to the past as they are divided as they are approached by the subordinates of the Millefiore Famiglia.
All in all, Reborn!, Vol. 22 is a wonderful continuation to a series that seems really intriguing and I can't wait to read more.
Is it okay that I am absolutely trembling from Genkishi and adoring Spanner? Genkishi is kind of a fearsome dude, but he holds a mist ring, so Hibari can have his way and destroy Genkishi. Tsuna, you had better protect Spanner. I am still not completely sure why he is helping you (most likely curiosity), but his is clearly not your enemy.
C'mon Hibari!! Kick Genkishi's butt!! Also, I wonder why Spanner is helping Tsuna. It really does seem just like pure curiosity on his part. Well, either way, just be careful of him Tsuna!! Don't you guys dare lose!! The Vongola Family must come out on top!
