The moment I found her, my fated mate—the only good and right thing in my dark, hollow life—she was taken from me by my enemies.
She was gone, ripped from my arms, a feeling more painful than if my heart had been torn from my chest.
I changed that day. I didn’t see myself as Odhran, loyal soldier to the king of the Scottish Lycans, any longer. I became scarred, emotionless… soulless. And over the decades, I became stronger, more deadly.
I turned into a killing machine, a warlord who took lives because mine had no meaning any longer.
I realized I became this male for a reason, a purpose. To take down the organization that stole and enslaved what was mine by right and fate.
And I knew that because I found her. I found them. They thought they could take her, keep my mate from me.
I’m loving this series and this one was more emotional and angsty then the others. And I loved every second!!
We kinda get flashbacks and present time when Odhran and Larkin meet and when they are captured. By the Assembly who take supernatural creatures and torture them and do other cruel things. Larkin has been locked up and torture mentally and physically which was heartbreaking. Now she feels and sees her mate Odhran who made it his mission to find her and take out anyone who caused harm. But for a bit they are captured and tortured… they weren’t trapped down there that long when help came.. wish they kinda stayed alil longer to see what would have happened.
Now they are slowly healing what has been torn. And I love that Jenika also put in therapy we hardly see that in supernatural books when it deals with shifters. We also got sneak peek of past couples and new couples!! And I’m so excited I kinda wanna see another vampire… wonder if he’s as crazy as his family.

I dreaded starting this because I knew Larkin had gone through so many terrible things. I don't think I have the strength to read those even though I read the TW/CW from the author's website.
But I wanted to read everything in this series, and I knew I needed to find out everything that happened to her. It was heartbreaking, truly, and I can only imagine the pain and horror she felt during her captivity. But Larkin was incredibly strong, and she never once doubted that Odhran would come looking for her. 🥹
It took a while for them to finally reunite because Odhryn ended up getting caught too. But eventually they managed to escape.
This was definitely more at a bit of a slower pace because of what happened to Larkin. But it didn't dampen my interest at all.
I understood that this is how things are meant to unfold, and I’m really glad Odhryn was so patient and supportive of her. These two really connected, found healing, and moved past what happened to them. I loooove that so much. 🥹💖
Anyway, this is probably the most emotional story in this series, and I really enjoyed the hard-fought HEA of these two.
Please check the TWs/CWs. I'm really not comfortable reading about SA, which is why I was so hesitant to read this because I'm unsure if this includes that. Thaaank gawd that Larkin didn't have to go through that.
This was a super sweet love story, maybe the sweetest most endearing couple out of all JS books! Odhran was a dream man: such a patient, loving, protective hero 😭 Overall wasn't the hottest nor my favorite story from Jenika Snow but her writing is always great and she's always a certainty when I need a go-to that I know won't disappoint me
“I need you. I need to be with you. I need to replace the memories that haunt me. I need you to help chase away the demons that live in the far dark recesses of my mind.”
This is the sixth book in this series and we finally get to read how Odhran finds and rescues his mate Larkin. This one was much more emotional than the previous books in the series but I think the angst in here fit with Odhran and Larkin's characters.
This story gives us a brief background on how Odhran and Larkin meet and how they are ripped apart from each other and it is heart breaking. Odhran never gives up his search for his wee water nymph mate and finally rescues her from the Assembly. If you've read the previous books, then you know the Assembly is like the mudblood haters of the Wizarding world. They capture, contain and torture and Larkin has been their prisoner for a very long time.
Despite her captivity and trauma, she never gives up hope that her Odhran, her mate, will one day come for her. And come he does but her rescue does not come without its grievances and set backs. However, Odhran is willing to be patient and care for his mate in whatever ways she needs even when his wolf begs him to mount and claim.
Odhran and Larkin slowly begin to build back what has been broken and to build the life they should have had much earlier. Odhran feels guilt and shame for not being able to protect "his person" and Larkin has so much mental trauma that at first it seems extremely daunting but the two of them gather each other up and push forward.
Odhran and Larkin's HEA was a tough road but it was a journey that they both despaired and reveled in. I loved the character growth and I loved the spotlight on emotional and mental trauma. I am really looking forward to Sebastian's story!! The Wild is definitely insta-love (so if that's not your thing don't pick this up) but the character depth was wonderful and the steamy scenes passionate and meaningful. Overall, Jenika has really killed it with this shifter/fated mated series.
I think I may have lost my heart to Odhran and Larkin. 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗪𝗜𝗟𝗗 is the sixth book in Jenika Snow’s The Lycans and was the book I needed to feed my obsession with this series.
Odhran and Larkin go through hell and back, many times over and your heart will hurt for both of them. But, it will also leave you satisfied as you watch two people lift themselves up from the deepest, darkest despair to the most glorious highs. It was everything.
Their journey was not an easy one but it was their story. It brought them together and made their happily ever after all the more beautiful and precious. I loved them and this book.
I’m giving 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗪𝗜𝗟𝗗 the judy.ann.loves.books stamp of approval, TBR and Enjoy!
I'm going to be so honest: this was my least anticipated book in the series because of the tropes 😭: a CENTURIES-long separation mixed in with second chance, flashbacks, and angst is pretty much my worst nightmare when it comes to a book 💀. I read these types of stories purely for the vibes, and I really wanted to finish this series, so I came into this with no pressure/expectations. So to end up liking it really shocked me 😭.
I think the thing I loved most about this was the fact that the MCs actually spent time together. They had time to develop their relationship and weren't interrupted. It was quite literally everything that I wanted from the previous books in this series.
I loved how the MCs always thought of one another when they were forced apart (although the amount of time they spent separated made me sickkkk 😭 this trope is not for me lmao). So it was really nice to see the characters get together again.
I wasn't the biggest fan of the captivity part of the story and the aftermath. You're telling me that the h was taken when she was in her early 20s and was held captive for centuries and that she was able to get back on her feet that quickly?
She was taken for more than 10 times the amount/years that she had been alive. And the fact that the H was captured so easily in his pursuit to save her despite trying to find her left me shocked. It definitely felt really unrealistic.
However, all that aside romance-wise, the MCs had such a special connection.
“I need you. I need to be with you. I need to replace the memories that haunt me. I need you to help chase away the demons that live in the far dark recesses of my mind.”
Odhran is no surprise in this series and as a reader, we knew his story was next. I was so dang excited to start this one! Could you imagine being forcibly separated from your mate for DECADES!? Unable to find her, searching non stop. Imagine that heartbreak.
Larkin, on the bottom of the totem pole within otherworldly species has been abused and tortured for all these years, over and over again. It’s horrific what she goes through. So when Odhran gets caught by The Assembly as well, it’s a blessing in disguise because he knows he’s close to Larkin, the mate he lost so long ago.
“We’re making our own story, darlin’.” He gave my belly a soft kiss, then peppered kisses on each and every scar, letting me know with touch that I was beautiful and perfect in his eyes.”
This is a love story. A story about a reunion that had these two fated mates separated far too long. Separation caused scars. Mental and physical. And with that comes a lot of healing.
Odhran has to be the sweetest lycan ever. No seriously. He worships the ground Larkin touches. Making up for all the time they were separated, he’s a natural romantic. Calm, sweet, caring, thoughtful. He truly Is the best supernatural mate anyone could ever ask for. The epilogue was pure perfection for this couple. They deserve it all. 💙
I’m excited to see where this series is going. There are so many side characters, next will be a very special vampire… and I’m hoping we get Lennox’s story as well soon because his story has been on my mind since finishing this book.
The Wild picks up where we last left off with Odhran infiltrating The Assembly to find Larkin. Before he can find her, he's captured too. Larkin can't believe Odhran's really there, even if hes tied up as she's being tortured. She's used to it, but still her pain torments her mate. When a chance encounter leaves Larkin with a key card to her cell, she makes her escape. Sebastian, Adryan's crazed vampire nephew, also stayed behind during the onslaught on The Assembly and breaks free of his chains to help Larkin. She get Odhran, but the real torture is just beginning. Haunted by her past, can Larkin ever let down her guard enough to let her mate in? Will she ever feel safe enough to love?
Larkin and Odhran is the love story I've been anxiously awaiting since we first read about Odhran's lost love a couple books ago. After decades of torture at the hands of The Assembly, I was happy to meet Larkin, broken as she was, and read along as she got her happily ever after. Odhran was an excellent match for her, always seeing to her needs and treasuring her without letting her fall apart. He was the lycan knight in shining armor and Larkin was the nymph princess waiting for rescue.. except they rescue each other, over and over.
I received an ARC copy of The Wild by Jenika Snow.

This story will break your heart and then put it back together. These two endure such pain . Their separation is heartbreaking. Lots of drama and lots of healing. Odhranreally is so sweet and patient with Larkin. Their journey to their HEA is inspiring. The end is awesome! I can’t wait for Sebastian.
This is my first shifter romance/ fated mates novel and I’m glad it was by Jenika Snow. I wasn’t sure what I was expecting and I haven’t read any of the others in the series so this is solely based on this book as a stand alone.
Ohdran and Larkin are fated mates that get thrust into chaos when a group who calls themselves the Assembly steps in to round up otherworldly creatures.
Jenkin had me absolutely captivated at the Scottish lug who fell in love with Larkin.
“I donna see flaws. I Donna see scars. The ugliness we perceive in ourselves doesn’t define us. It shapes and molds us and we become fucking battle gods because of it. Ye hear me, lass? Ye are a warrior who conquered.”
Who wanted want a big burly Scottish wolf lusting after them day in and day out.
“I’m just flesh and bone, a male who is looking into the most gorgeous blue eyes I’ve ever seen, and praying tae whatever gods will listen that they’ll never take ye away from me again.”
Snow did a good job captivating me but I would have loved to see more detail in between the chapters,
I received a free arc copy and am leaving this review voluntarily. 4.5 ⭐️ 4.5 🌶
I did receive this arc in exchange for a honest review
WOW this was not what I expected from this book. This book was a pleasant surprise for me. This book follows two mates journey on reuniting after the heroine was captured and tortured for YEARS! when I say years I mean it, the time period in which she was captured didn’t have technology. The hero and heroine really do go through it emotionally for being separated for that amount of time. The hero never stops looking for her for a second and was willing to do anything(include put himself through hell) to get her back.
My favourite aspect of this book was definitely watching the heroines journey into adjusting and dealing with her trauma she’s suffered and also her adapting to her new life. I think it really shows how good an another is to focus on the smaller details that I as a reading wouldn’t consider until reading about it. I love how the hero always put the heroine first and let her do everything in her own time.
This book was definitely a medium/slower burn compared to Jenikas usual books and was slightly less smutty although I think it fitted these two characters more. There relationship developed at the perfect pace for me.
The only thing that was slightly frustrating for me was the use of certain words from our hero’s accent, it felt overdone for me and sometimes hard to read. You can show someone has a accent without changing how they say most words. Aside from that there’s nothing I would change about this book.

This was my first time reading this author, and the world she has created just sucked me in from the very first page! I don't usually read PNR, but I was more focused on the emotion of the book, and you can feel everything our characters go through, especially all their agony.
Larkin and Odhran are definitely put through the ringer here, and they both have the scars to show though it. Odhran never gave up though, and fought like hell to get his mate back. I'm so glad they got their HEA, but just be warned -- you will need tissues!
This book deals with a lot of triggers, so be aware of all the warnings at the beginning. I'm definitely going to go back to the beginning of this series and fully immerse myself in this world!!
**I received an ARC of this book and these are my honest opinions**
This book was beautiful from start to finish, let me start by saying that. Jenika did such an amazing job in composing these characters and I can tell she went through every tiny detail. I binged this book in a matter of 36 hours and I regret nothing.
From the beginning of this book I was hooked. I cannot tell the number of times that my heart went from high to low. The amazing burn and chemistry between the two MCs was unbelievable I could almost feel it coming to life around me.
I could feel every moment of tension, and this plot had a beautiful build that kept me dying to turn the page to find out what was going to happen next. I could not be more in love with the way this story flowed.
I would recommend this to anyone that loves a good paranormal romance, but this has so much more than that. Be ready for a thriller and just wait till the end! Go get this and then read the rest of her books, it is worth it, without a doubt.
Jenika highlights the trigger warnings, and while I don't have any, I think she wrote the scenes with them beautifully.
I loved it so much!!! I loved the main characters, and was heartbroken from the first few pages. They do, in fact, get taken away from each other early on, and Larkin gets kidnapped for decades. I like how the time skip is done... nothing feels super rushed about it, and the author pulls it off without you being confused. I felt so bad for Larkin and everything she went through at the hands of the Assembly... I loved Odhran and how he never stopped fighting to get to Larkin. It does has a HEA (thank god) and you will love reading Larkin and Odhran's healing journey. You will love both characters!! As always too, Jenika's Alphas are pure gentleman wolves, even when they want to lose control. The FMC is never forced by her mate, which I love. I received and ARC from the author and I am leaving my honest review :)
This book consume all my mind, and Jenika again made me immerse myself in her world .
Odhran the royal soldier to the Scottish Lycans king was impatient to find he's mate, but when he finally find her ,she was ripped from he's hands. Years later after that Odrah was not the same, and in he's place Odhran become emotionless machin for killing.
He's mate was amazing and I will say that for the first time I read about lycan that is mated to such a creature like her,but not get me wrong i didn't say that as bad thing. She is really strong girl, who life was ripped from her and make in they're relationship some tension caused by the horrible events in her life. But so far the book was interesting and they get their happy end!
4.5 stars! I really enjoyed reading this book! Scottish Lycans are everything I didn’t know I needed until now. Fated mates that go through so much to try and be together... their story wrecked me!! (In the best way!) Author also sprinkled in the perfect amount of spice. I found it hard to put down once I started. Absolutely perfect paranormal romance!
I absolutely loved that Odhran and Larkin finally had their story. This is a great series, with each story a wonderful addition. This story pulls at your heartstrings. The connection and love the two of them had for each other was undeniable.
Raw, intense and captivating just wow jenkia really brought it her characters and there developments were everything it had just the perfect amount of smut and emotion another great addition to the series.,
This has been my favorite book out of this whole series. I absolutely loved Larkin & Odhran’s story. Larkin’s story and trauma are so relatable & the care that Odhran gives her to help her heal is written absolutely beautiful. I love how all the the stories intermingle & connect. I especially loved reading about Darragh, Evie & Luna. The spice level was perfect.

There was one moment when the FMC said something like “If I was a feminist, I might’ve taken offense to how [MMC] answered for me, but I like that he knew what I needed”… HUH???? Is the author anti-feminist, i’m confused…
This was an ARC read and I have not read any of the other books in this series. That being said, I LOVED this book! I was able to jump in and still fall completely in love with Larkin and Odhran. Jenika did an amazing job of giving them a HEA but still giving all the feels throughout the book. I will definitely be reading the rest of the series now!
Some of Jenika Snow's best writing to date! I was enraptured and completely consumed in this world of otherworldly creatures and their passion for their mate. Well done J Snow!

This book was so very good. Im so happy for Ohdran and Larkin they got everything they deserved and this book had a lot ups and downs but ultimately everything ended well for them. The spice in this book was good a lot of praise 🥵 it was 3/5 the spice. There was a lot of stuff for both main characters to work through especially Larkin but they both grew so well together i was very happy at the end of this book.
