Rapture: The Devil's Gate MC

Rate this book
They saved me…only to sacrifice me…
To him.

They call it the Rapture, when the vampire king comes.
And this time, he’s come for me.

Just as he’s come every ten years for so long, no one can even remember when it all began.
He’s the villain in my story, I see that right away.
But when his teeth sink into my skin…something happens.
Something that isn’t supposed to.
Instead of draining me like all the others…
He changes me.
Makes me like him.

Now I’m trapped in his kingdom of monsters.
Completely unrecognizable from the girl I once was.
He and his lost boys have changed the rules of the game.
But the more time that passes, the more I realize…I still want to play.

Ok so. First off I just want to say that I have absolutely no clue why these books were put together in one series. They are all vastly different from each other and it’s not like they even share a universe because the rules in each book are completely different…I’m just confused. I have been since the very beginning.

I start with that because this book was completely and utterly different from every other book in this series and I can’t for the life of me figure out why or how it’s connected other than that the MMCs ride motorcycles…

I like it. Don’t get me wrong.
I mean, most of it I liked.
The relationships were Way underdeveloped, and completely confusing. We didn’t even figure out who was going to be in her harem until like 70% in and then there was no time for building on their connections. Plus there were so many thing left unanswered.
Like why she was born with violet hair and no one else was. Why she could shift after becoming a vamp when that’d never been done…you’re telling me just cause? She special? That’s it?
Then her foster family…what the hell was up with them. Also. Her parents. Who the hell Killed them? And why the hell did no one ever care to ask?

I don’t know man.
The sex was hot and all, but the relationships were put together really shittily, the connections between them weren’t equal or even fully formed. The story left SO much unsaid. The ‘Peter Pan’ retelling was cool and all but I was so confused as to why it was a part of this series.
🤷🏻‍♀️ This series was a whole bunch of fails for me, for varying reasons.

Compared to other books I’ve read in this series, sadly this book has been my least favorite. I found the men to be lacking and the storyline to be confusing. There’s also little things in the book that just never get explained like who killed her parents and why. For the whole book I thought this was something important and would be some big revelation in the end, however we never find out. The heroine is then the fated mate of the Alpha’s son and yet for years she’s never known, crushing on him and doesn’t (herself) receive any type of mating mark or instinct aside from wanting to hump his leg.

The heroine is then kidnapped after being bitten and killed, losing her wolf, something that really didn’t become much of an issue, which is surprising. Sure eventually she turns into some hybrid, but for me, after countless shifter reads I can’t help but feel devastated that the heroine lost her wolf. I mean it’s a big, HUGE deal and it’s barely addressed. She gets emotional but not to the extent I expected given she lost a piece of herself.

Lots of the book is a mishmash of small details that loosely relate this to the story of Peter Pan, very loosely. I bring this up because the heroine learns she can fly, yet when she’s captured by Hook, not once does she just try to fly away 🤦🏽‍♀️ Instead she has to be rescued after almost being raped. So yes there are a few potentially triggering situations.

My last complaint is one of her mates has a twin brother. I honestly believed he’d be one of her mates too as it seems that’s where the story is headed but alas it’s not true. Which brings into question a scene earlier in the book where this twin pretends to be his brother and has sex with the heroine. Him not being her mate makes this whole situation wrong and kinda rapey. She flips out initially but then just brushes it off and has a cordial conversation with him about finding his mate, like what?!?

I do apologize for basically just complaining in this review. I really wish I would have liked the book more but it was a struggle to finish and stay engaged especially when there were so many red flags for me. Still love these authors, this was just not the book for me!

I thought I would enjoy this with the whole Cinderella thing in the beginning, but in the end it did not work for me. The story did not flow. Some parts felt forced and rushed. This is what happens when you have a lot going on and the book is a stand alone.

You may love it. Good luck. I did not finish it.

I never did like Peter Pan. Call me the odd duck considering how so many seem to love the tale that has inspired plays, movies, and more. Peter always kinda seemed like a jerk to me and I didn't vibe with the story. I have to say that Mila Young and C.R. Jane have me changing my mind with Rapture. What started off seeming like a Cinderella retelling turned into a full-blown Peter Pan Retelling with Hook, tiny faeries, Crocodile, flying, mermaids, the Lost Boys, and more. It freaking blew my mind.

Gwendolyn is an omega who has had a hard life. Her parents died, mistreated by the pack who took her in, and then she's sacrificed to the monsters who come to town every ten years. Being an omega means that Gwen is naturally soft but she has a bit of fire to her. She takes crap from the pack because she has nowhere else to go but when it comes to the vampires that take her as a sacrifice she fights back every chance she gets. Gwen is a survivor, a fighter and in this new world, she's finding her strength without losing her humanity.

This book is hot. Being an omega Gwen is a slave to her instincts so when it comes to Pan and his attraction to her things are explosive and unstoppable. Pan starts off as a major a-hole but manages to win me over by the end. Luke on the other hand was a sweetheart from the start, an adorably cute and playful guy who is there for Gwen from the start. Finally, there's Atlas who was a surprise, I really thought he was gonna be a jerk, and turned out to be a prince. The chemistry is palatable between Gwen and each of the guys, they make each other's lives a whole lot better and they're in it together, bonded.

Ok. So this book surprised me, it really shouldn't have because it's CR's and Mila's work but I hate Peter Pan so I was apprehensive. However with the duo's unique take on the fairy tale had me, I finished it in a day. There was loads of action, mystery, firey passion, betrayal, a variety of supernaturals, races, and magic, and the story was focused on a female character. I'm mostly a series-type reader and while I absolutely loved the story I don't think I could've survived a series, the stakes (pun not intended) were just too high, and my nerves wouldn't be able to take it if the drama was spread out. The story was complete in this one book pulling in the little details that mostly bring everything together, there are just a few lingering questions.

Rapture was a deliciously dark adult retelling of Peter Pan with a lot of the elements I expect but with a unique twist. Shifters and vampires, betrayals and vendettas, castles and pirate ships, awesome bikes, and so much steam it can make an ocean boil. I've read so many great books this year but somehow this one stands out and fits perfectly with the rest of the MC Syndicates series. I've only read a couple but I'm ready for more.

Okay, so, I put an “Omegaverse” category on this book because Gwen Darling is a wolf-shifting Omega and does experience a heat. One of her guys is also a wolf-shifter with a knot, but he only knots her once in this entire story. The author makes some references to how an Omega is and how they reproduce, but even during her heat, they don’t even talk about it. Everything is sort of glossed over except for her slick, which of course is the one thing that is referenced over and over again.

Her second guy, Pan, is the leader of the MC, and the person who turns Gwen during her town’s “Rapture” in which their town sacrifices one person for the misgivings of one of them in their past. She thus becomes an Omega/Vampire/Wolf Shifter.

Atlas is the first love interest. He becomes her step brother after her stepmother marries his father. He is the next in line to become the Alpha of their community. However, we randomly learn that he isn’t the current Alpha’s son. Nothing comes from that. It’s just a tiny excuse for him to run away to find Gwen after he becomes her fated mate and taken by Pan? Also, he had the WEIRDEST first interaction with her. He never gave her the time of day but then she sees him standing near a tree and walks up to him and he professes his love for her? They have sex and bam, fated mates? I felt like I was missing an entire chapter leading up to that scene. They went from 0 to 110 in a blink of an eye.

Pan has a identical twin brother, Crocodile, who *surprise* has sex with Gwen under the guise of being Pan. Oh yeah, did I forget to mention this is a very very loosely based Peter Pan retelling? Crocodile has a very small part of the book and honestly, took time away from the other main characters.

Like Luke, the resident doctor of Darklands. He is the one who is always there when Gwen wakes up from being knocked out by various situations. Is it kind of strange then that he spends the most time with her while she is out and yet he falls in love with her right away? Yes. Yes it is. He got cheated in this story because he barely got one scene with her getting to know her.

So spice….
Pan had the dirty talk down. His scenes were the best because he had the most time in the book period. Maybe I would have liked the other guys too, but I won’t ever know. There is also only 1 group scene of all three of them at the very very end. Pan will share, but he absolutely HATES Atlas. He treats Atlas like shit but only tolerates him because he loves Gwen. I wish we could have seen more bonding of them.

I hope that Crocodile gets his own story, even though his whining kind of took away from Gwen and Pan’s story.

It was a pleasant book as it portrays features of Peter Pan's retelling alongside some sides of the shifters community.

To be quite frank, I expected a bit more in terms of plot and character development. Nevertheless, Gwendolyn's story is interesting enough as she overcomes trauma and finds herself in a world that she never expected to exist.

I do enjoy the MC Syndicates series as each book is a standalone and written by different authors, I like the variety of the series and that each story is unique in its own right.

This was a twisted Peter Pan retelling with a hint of Omegaverse.
Gwendolyn was orphaned and found by a kind alpha who brought her into his home. Once he passed his wife treated her badly and had nefarious motives on why she kept her around. The Rapture was soon approaching and Gwendolyn would be the town sacrifice. When Pan comes to town to collect his world is changed forever.

I enjoyed this, it had a little bit of everything vampires, wolves and other monsters that go bump in the night.

Rapture is a great dark retelling of Peter Pan with some Cinderella feels, mixed with MC. There was a lot going on in this book. It took me a bit to really get into it.

Vampires, motorcycles, pirate ships, and loads of steam. There was some elements I did feel fell short, mostly just details, but that could have just been me and thinking something was going to happen and then it didn’t.

I’ve read all the books so far in this shared series, and I really enjoy how different they all are.

3.5 hard to rate stars! When I stumbled across the ad for this book there was no way I could pass it up. A vampire MC, led by a vampire king who called them his Lost Boys.

Now, the obvious takeaway here is a play on Peter Pan. Pan, is in fact, the vampire king. However, my brain saw vampire MC, Lost Boys and went straight for for cult classic 1987 vampire movie (also a take on Peter Pan) The Lost Boys. When all the girls my age were declaring The Princess Bride their favorite movie I was declaring The Lost Boys mine. It still is, to this day, and always will be.

So, the MC vampires are the end of the similarities between this book and my beloved movie. This was still a fairly entertaining read. I’d have probably liked it more if it’d been a bit more fleshed out. As a rule, I’m not big on series but this is one story that probably would have benefited from the format.

It felt like Pan went from apathetic to “Mine, mine, mine!” Quite suddenly. Rounding out her love interests is Crocodile (Pan’s psychotic twin brother), Luke (a doctor & one of the Lost Boys) & Atlas the alpha wolf she’d unknowingly bonded with before being turned by Pan. The grouping is disjointed because we don’t get enough time with them.

Ending is rushed, big showdown with Hook felt somewhat anticlimactic. I’d have also liked some retaliation for Susanna’s I’ll treatment of h before she was turned into a vampire.

No cheating
No scenes with others
No cliffhanger
HEA

Safety - pretty safe, h literally rips the arms off a mermaid who tries to come up on Pan.

Gwendolyn's early life was idyllic but it didn't last long. Orphaned and taken in by another family, again life was good until she lost her adoptive father, then it resembled Cinderella's life way too much. Little did she realize that her life of mistreatment and hard work was only the beginning. Her "mother" offered her up as the town's sacrifice for the Rapture. She is to be the offering a terrifying MC demanded every few years. This time, however, the Leader doesn't only kill her; he takes her with him. She wakes changed. She is one of them now...with a twist.

If you ever thought you needed an MC RH set in a fairy tale combination of Cinderella and a reimagined Peter Pan tale, this is the story for you. I admit it took me a while to get into the story. These are 2 of my favorite fairy tales and as much as I love reimaginings, I am picky. Peter Pan fits beautifully with the MC theme, so I would have liked more MC. And as much as I love vampires. I would have liked less bloodplay. I know it's popular with many but I am not a fan and it took me more than half of the book to warm up to Pan after the first scenes. Luckily, I loved Atlas and Luke until I fell for Pan. At about the halfway point, I was hooked on the book. No pun intended. I loved the twists to fit the fairy tale. I loved the relationships. And I loved the way it all played out.

This book totally took me by surprise. I’m not a big fan of Peter Pan but I really liked this dark PNR retelling of the fairytale.

Gwendolyn’s life hasn’t been easy since the death of her parents. When she’s forced into becoming the sacrifice for the “rapture,” she knows she’s not going down without a fight.

The chemistry between Gwendolyn and each man is palpable. Pan and Gwendolyn are explosive together. Pan’s obsession with her is all consuming, and she’s helpless to resist. Luke, I found to be a sweetheart and the light to Pan’s dark. I was afraid of how Atlas would fit in with the group, but he balanced them out perfectly.

Rapture is a deliciously dark and spicy retelling. Full of betrayal, secrets, vampires, shifters, the Lost Boys, mermaids, and a Crocodile.

Rapture: The Devil’s Gate MC by C.R. Jane and Mila Young is a sizzling dark reverse harem MC romance loosely inspired by the Peter Pan fairytale. This five star novel is part of a shared universe but can be read as a standalone.

Gwendolyn had a picturesque childhood with two loving parents until tragedy strikes and she is orphaned after an attack on her village. She was saved by a kindhearted Beta named Caleb from a nearby shifter pack that takes her home and makes her part of his family. Caleb treated Gwen like one of his own and she found happiness again until the unexpected death of her adoptive father. She was left in the care of Caleb’s cold and heartless wife, Sussana, and her two daughters Dierdra and Persephone. Gwen is shunned and forced to live in the servants quarters and the dynamic is definitely Cinderella-like with the evil stepmother and the two bratty stepsisters. Sussana is remarrying to the pack’s Alpha and offers Gwen as the sacrifice to the Vampire King, Pan, that visits every 10 years to drain and kill someone in the center of town called the Rapture. Even Gwen’s newly found connection with the Alpha’s son, Atlas, doesn’t save her from her fate. Pan arrives and drains her in the middle of town. Instead of leaving her dead body, he takes her body with him because she intrigues him.

Pan is a ruthless savage known as Death. Every creature fears his wrath. For some reason, he is compelled to take Gwendolyn home after the sacrifice and turn her into a vampire. He doesn’t understand his feelings and is conflicted about what makes her so special. Gwen’s entire world has been taken from her once again and she finds herself experiencing hatred, desire, and lust for Pan. Readers will certainly dislike him just as much as Gwen does. Pan has a psychotic identical evil twin brother named Crocodile. There is a scene where Croc convincingly pretends to be Pan and my jaw was on the floor with surprise! Pan has to protect Gwen from Croc’s cruel mind games which makes him question his feelings even more.

Gwen forms a romantic connection with the sweet and gentle Darkland doctor, Luke. How can she feel so much desire for more than one man? To make matters even more complicated, Atlas enters Darkland to rescue Gwen and now she has even more men vying for her attention. Gwen’s heat starts and the men must put aside their differences to ease her pain and need. We really start to see Pan soften towards Gwen in these scenes. Suddenly, Gwen is abducted from the palace and held captive by the one and only, Captain Hook Silver.

This book was overall amazing. It was engaging and exciting. I do wish that there had been more scenes with Luke but I understand there was only so much time in the book. I loved that Pan, Atlas, and Luke put aside their ego’s to be able to stay with Gwen for a happily-for-now ending. I don’t think there are plans for the authors to write a second book for Gwen and her men, but I would LOVE to read more.

Tropes: Dark romance, MC romance, enemies-to-lovers, werewolves, shifters, vampires, magical creatures, virgin heroine, reverse harem, happily-for-now ending

I have read books by these authors before and I liked those books for the most part. This book had too many unanswered questions and plot holes. It was like the authors wanted to do too much and they just were not able to bring it all together.

In the beginning of the book the FMC parents are murdered after the village/town caught fire and burned to the ground. This is only important because she becomes an orphan and goes to live with someone who comes to help the village/town after the fire. If the murder was irrelevant to the story (it appears to be irrelevant as it is never mentioned again) the parents could have just died in the fire and the result of the FMC being an orphan would have been the same.

The book then has a Cinderella theme of the wicked foster mother abusing the FMC when her two biological daughters are treated extremely well. Everyone of course bullies the FMC.

The FMC is just a really sad and pathetic character. Everything happens to her and she does nothing to help herself.

She has a motorcycle that her foster father gave her before he passed away. She is an adult at this point being abused by her foster family but she wont leave due to a fear of the unknown. She also seems to have zero life skills despite all the chores and tasks that she has to do everyday.

It is clearly hinted that she will be sacrificed and she still decides to stay. On the day she is being sacrificed these are the FMC thoughts before it happens... "My lips trembling, but I held in my tears. I didn't run. Because where would I go?" Again she does nothing to save herself. She stands in the center of some rope (which is the sacrifice area) and decides that it is better to be sacrificed then venture out on her own and be independent.

Once she is turned into a vampire it just gets worse. She then cannot control her body and her reactions. For example she is hunger, she smells a human, she tries to drain said human of blood, even though this goes against who she is a person.

She doesn't like someone but she will still have relations with them because she is horny.

It appears that she has no will of her own and if she does she chooses not to exert such will for some ridiculous reason or another.

Aside from their being a character called Pan, Crocodile and Hook, and that they can fly there is really not much that would make me think of Peter Pan. The Peter Pan theme seems very forced.

The characters also seem very under developed and they didn't seem to have any chemistry with each other. Based on the FMC having no will of her own the chemistry was not really needed to make the relationships work.

This book did not seem to fit with the other books that I read in this series (I have not read them all).

Holy moly! When I saw all of the tropes that this book would have I was definitely intrigued but I didn't expect it to grab onto me and not let go! I don't know what they put in this book but I could not put it down to save my life, I was completely obsessed! Could the writing have been a bit better? Yes. Was I confused at times on whether this was set in a modern or fantasy world? Also yes. But did I care? Not enough to truly be bothered lol. I started falling for Pan as soon as he got off of his bike and was a complete goner the second he bit Gwen. I could not get enough of him and was obsessed, but then I got to meet Luke and oh man was I here for his special brand of sexy nurse, and then we got our third man that brought absolute chaos with him and I LOVED IT! The sexual tension and overall chemistry with Gwen and her men had me dying of heat throughout the book! I think that making Pan and all the lost boys vampires added a fun twist to the story. And while we got lots of fun nods to Neverland like mermaids, flying through the skies, dancing fairies, curses and magic, and Hook himself, the authors definitely made this whole world and story into something of their own.

The only thing holding me back was that while the flow was fast paced and full of action, I wish there had been more descriptions written between the dialogue because I was sometimes stuck with an image in my head wasn't too clear from the fast moving writing and it sometimes felt like something was missing. Had it been there, I think that would have made this an easy 5 star read for me. And while that was the one thing I noted, I still gobbled this up like candy so to each their own! This is my newest guilty pleasure and I don't even care! This is perfect if you're looking for some spooky vibes for October! It's got motor cycle riding vampires, shifters, some omegaverse vibes, biting/blood play, lots of spice, and best of all, everything is wrapped up into one book since it's a standalone!

Rating- 3.5 good but could have been great
Heat- 3
Tropes- Peter Pan, given as a sacrifice,

The overall plot of this book was amazing. It’s like a Cinderella and Peter Pan crossover with werewolves and vampires. What’s not to love? I especially enjoyed this version of Pan. He was a fantastically written morally gray character. He gave off all the scary-sexy vibes that we want. The only thing wrong with this book is the speed at which this story is told. It was screaming for a series. The relationships formed feel shallow because they happened so quickly. The amazing “hate him but I want him” energy briefly given off by Gwendolyn for Pan could have easily been stretched out far longer than it was, and Luke’s relationship w her just felt like an afterthought. Furthermore, the dynamic between the men felt unexplored. Pan is all possessive at times, but then seems to randomly decide to share.
There were also so many loose ends left untied. The story begins with Gwendolyn’s family being attacked and her mom giving her cryptic warnings before she is killed. This entire plot line is dropped never to be mentioned again. And Alexi finds out a shocking revelation, that, again, is just never mentioned again. Then we have one of my biggest pet peeves- a horrible action having no consequences. When one of our main characters is mistreated, I’m always looking forward to the perpetrators learning a lesson. Over and over in this book, we see our heroine mistreated. By the stepmother, by Crocodile, by Pan himself- but we never see them realizing their mistakes or being punished for them. This is particularly amiss when it comes to the stepmother and village. I was really looking forward to Gwendolyn returning as the amazing, powerful creature she had become, but I never got to see that.
Overall, I loved the ideas here, but I would have loved it so much more if we could have taken our time to really develop the characters and the story.

I'm very aware that whether or not I like a book partly has to do with what kind of reader I am and what kind of author has written the book. Usually I don't read books by these authors. They're great, but their writing styles don't really fit my reading style. However, I absolutely loved the other two books I read in this shared world and when I got the chance to get an arc of this book I decided to just give it an honest chance.

One of the main reasons I really wanted to read this book were the Peter Pan elements I was promised. And I can say that they didn't disappoint. Although this version of Neverland is entirely different from the enchanting, but dark, isle in the original tale, I liked how recognizable all the characters were, how they felt like themselves and still original and different at the same time, how it is a Peter Pan retelling in a way and also a very original story.

The authors also really take their time to build their world, to introduce all the characters and to show us their lives, their habits and their current situation. That means that some characters disappear to the background a little bit while others are getting the spotlight, but somehow it still worked. It felt like I could really get to know these characters, both our heroine and her heroes, and it felt like I got a chance to understand them.

I have to admit that the plot, apart from the relationship between these characters and all the awakening feelings, was a little thin at times. Although the book does answer a lot of questions, I do get the impression that some answers could have been a little more detailed and the bridge between especially the beginning and the reveals at the end could have been a little more solid. However, these authors are clearly very good at writing very very very hot chapters!

I'm a sucker for the fairytale retellings, and Rapture brought a good one to the table. Gwendolyn (long form of the name Wendy) is the 6th and last heroine from the MC Syndicates series. Her story starts with being sacrificed as payment to the Devil's Gate MC, and her opening scene with Pan isn't as happy and beautiful as most retellings. This one started rough, and then got darker. I delighted in the way the myths of the lost boys played out, and Pan's family was a unique take on the often overlooked shadow aspect of his character. Some of these interactions with Crocodile were downright devious, and I was both gasping and thrilled as it played out. I'm not sure if there is every any intention for Crocodile to get his own story, but the bad boy always deserves one!

What I didn't expect was the way Gwendolyn's original Omega status affected her new Vampire status as the story developed. The tried and true, standardized and generally accepted rules that apply to characters of the supernatural community have been carefully observed for a long time. Until a few month ago, when I started finding authors breaking out of the previous molds, and finding new ways to integrate the traits and personalities. Jane and Young also follow this route, and I very much enjoyed the subtle twists.

Vampire's and their attraction to blood can sometimes cross into "ick" for me. Or simply questioning whether that much blood loss is possible before dying. I appreciated how this book gave us vampires, but didn't dwell on the whole blood drinking to a point that became unpalatable (pun intended). Because of this, I think it would work for someone who is curious about a Peter Pan retelling, but less certain about the paranormal or supernatural tropes.

I had no idea what to expect going into this. I've really been enjoying the re-telling's lately, and this is just another one to add to the list.

This book was very different and the authors did a great job at including multiple types of genres in this. First we start off with a Cinderella vibe-type. Gwendolyn is our Omega Wolf shifter whose parents were killed at a young age. When she is taken in by a loving man, she grows as his adoptive-like daughter. Only when he passes, his wife is quick to push her along and treat her as garbage.

With Gwen's pack casting her aside, she is sacrificed to the Vampires. Only.....When Pan gets to her, something changes and quickly instead of being sacrificed, he decides to make her his property. When he brings her back to Darkland, among the frenzy crazed Lost Boys, monstrous creatures and unexplainable things - the life she knew before is gone.

Only, Gwen is not going to take anything laying down. She is determined more than ever to save herself and save the ones she cares about. Can she stop the bloodlust? Can she still call to her wolf now that she's changed? Will Hook try to sink his filthy way into her life as well?

This book took turns I was not expecting and redeemed all the main characters so that we got a HFN ending! The book was dark, sexy and original even with the re-telling. I enjoyed it and wanted more in the ending.

*Overall 4.5/5
*Heat? 5/5
*First person POV
*MFMM Relationship
*Bonus Epilogue
*Ends on HFN

Holy spicy fairytale retelling!!!

CR and Mila can bring the heat that’s for sure!!!! If you’re a fan of classic fairytale retellings that border then line between the stories we know and love and dark kinky fantasies meshed together with a unique twist then this is the one for you! And let me just say…Pan has NEVER looked as good as he does in this story and Cinderella has never been as hot!!! What’s better than a hot af sexy Peter Pan then one that belongs to an MC and has a deep thirst for our heroines delicious blood you ask? How about Cinderella with sharp claws of her own and a thirst that can only be sated by her own delicious harem of men? 🥵🥵🥵

From the very beginning of this story Gwendolyn owned my heart!!! Her tragic past was filled with so much heart wrenching trauma you just couldn’t help but feel for her. And even though her life was filled with so much suffering and loss she never gave up and I absolutely loved her tenacity and strength—even when those around her thought she was weak. Little did they know, she was a true warrior queen in her own right, and just needed three special guys to help her find who she was meant to be.

Overall if you love a steamy, fast burn RH retellings that are full of phenomenal characters that sink their teeth deep into your heart and soul (pun intended 😉) then trust me—you need this one! And just when you think you’ve figured out where these two fabulous authors are taking you…BAM! They change it up beautifully and keep you ok your toes with one twist after another. Five stars all the way!!!

Not sure how to feel about this one!

As soon as I saw that it was a twist on Peter pan I thought "yes! I need to read it!"

But it begins as a wolf shifter read, turning into a cinderella- esque type tale, then into an MC gang who take a sacrifice from the shifters every decade, and then it goes into a thinly veiled attempt at a Peter pan type tale. Only pan is a vampire King of a clan in a hidden area called Dark Wood that is spelled to stay hidden from those not invited and to stay nighttime constantly.

Gwendolyn however has seemed to be an anomaly. She didn't die upon the bite that pan gave her like she should have. This stirred his interest so he brings her to Dark wood to look into it.

She seems to have kept parts of her omega wolf which has been unheard of before, and this causes attention from other members of the gang - some wanted, some not, and some very much unwanted attention from rival gang and leader Hook Silver.

Unbeknownst to Pan, she also mated to Atlas, the son of the Alpha before she was given as a sacrifice which causes more issues.

It was an OK read. I actually liked Crocodile. The bad brother of Pan. I wonder what happens to him....
The fights are well written and I loved the flying scenes and the bar.

This is actually book 5 of a series but they're all stand alone so you don't have to read any of the others before. They're all different chapters of MC gangs.

I love both these authors and I think it's their writing style that saves it.

One more book that Tiktok made me read.

Didn't like the ending, i thought it would be deeper, that this girl would have some secret parents, secret power, or whatever. But... nothing came. She really stood up in the middle of a battle, shaking, petrified like a little cat (even tho shes a bloody vampire).

I was hoping Croc was one of her lovers, but he wasn't (like, seriously??? 😣😣 after that AMAZING scene of Pan finding Croc fcking her and WATCHING), that was disappointing.

That scene were they HUGGED EACH OTHER after killing Hook?? I... 🥴

The couple of lasts hots were disappointing, the firsts ones were delicious, but then, it started loosing the fire.

I expected that this girl would get revenge of that bitch luna of the pack that made her life a living hell, that she would go back there with her hot vampires and them kill them all and get a beautiful and amazing revenge... but this never came. She just forgot every single shit that luna bitch and her little bitches daughters did to her, like ✨poof✨ never happened.

Also, at the beginning, we see her mother say that she needs to hide, that they're coming, i thought this girl has some plot about her life of something, but, well, she didn't.

But, i wast ALL bad, despite everything. I guess.

Dark Peter Pan Retelling with Omegaverse

I love fairytale retellings and this one is definitely going on my list of favorites! It combined Peter Pan, supernatural creatures, and omegaverse really well.

Gwendolyn has had a really rough life being orphaned as a young child and then her foster dad died leaving her with the rest of her foster family who hates her and treats her like a slave. Practically everyone treats her like a pariah and she’s never fit in. Just when she thought things were going better, she finds herself being sacrificed to Pan, the vampire king.

The chemistry was off the charts between Gwendolyn and each of her guys! Pan, Luke, and Atlas were all unique from each other and I enjoyed seeing how each one of them interacted differently with her. I loved all the little nods to the original fairytale and all the ways they changed it and made it their own!

I do wish we would’ve gotten some more answers in the end like why her parents were killed and who did it, what was the significance of her mother’s ring, why did she have purple hair and could shift while being a vampire, etc. I also would love it if Crocodile got his own book so we could see him get his happy ending. All in all, I loved this book and it’s one of my favorite books I’ve read this year!

Listen.
I absolutely love C.R. Jane... normally. But this book was just... I don't even have the right word.
It wasn't awful. But it definitely wasn't great either. Hence the 3 star rating.
There was just too much going on and then questions weren't answered... who killed Gwen's mom and dad? Did Sussana kill Gwen's step dad? What happened to Atlas' real father? Why was Gwen the only person with lavender hair? How did Hook get Alpha Silver's blood? Just so many questions left open.
The relationships between Gwen and her harem were so short and felt a little forced. Even Atlas, who was there from the beginning, didn't feel as natural as I would have hoped. And Luke? Who i felt was the best one, barely had any time with her at all. Yet they were in love? No. And the steamy scenes weren't as great as I KNOW C.R. Jane is very capable of.
My last issue was this book could not pick a story line to stick to. It started with wold shifters, then turned into a Cinderella retelling, but then there was a MC filled with vampires, then it turned into a Peter Pan retelling... just stick to something, not go all over the place!
But listen, I didn't DNF it. It was just entertaining enough for me to finish it. I just wish it wasn't so damn chaotic and yet so very thin at the same time.
Sad face.

It was an okay read

Listen I love a good reverse harem that has all the creatures in the world and the broody guys trying to share the girl but my goodness I couldn’t really get behind the layout of the book. I honestly had no issues with the MMCs besides the weird “relationship” between Gwen and crocodile. I felt like adding him in was extremely pointless to this storyline. Why hint on to a possible twin scene just to let us down? Moving on though, I went in thinking Gwen would be a strong character off the back & honestly I was disappointed, it wasn’t until the end that I felt she was becoming strong character and I mean the very end like 97% into the book. Also I do not like RH books when the females act as if they can’t have all the men from the beginning. Gwen just seemed to take way too long to wrap her head around the fact that she liked all of the guys. I didn’t appreciate the length it took for her to finally show her emotions to Luke it was too late in the game at that point in my opinion. Overall I probably wouldn’t recommend this book to someone who likes a strong fmc who is not naive, likes a fast paced story, and likes the RH to bond in the earlier parts of the book. All that to say I finished the book so it couldn’t have been that terrible…right?

Liked the book but it didn’t carry ANY of the MC themes from any of the previous books except that they ride bikes. 4 ⭐️ cause it was hard to put down, the story itself was intoxicating. But also way too many unanswered questions. It seems like a plan was put in place and specific things happened and then the plan was just not followed. (Also I love fairytale retelling. But none of the other stories in the series followed that theme so it felt weird and I had a harder time enjoying it since it was supposed to be in the same universe as the sister books)

- who are the rest of the inner circle.
- DO they do club business at all? Who do they reside over as an MC.
- who killed the parents
- why the purple hair and amber eyes
- what was the ring about from her mother
- why tell us that Atlas isn’t a Silver, and make the whole feud about the Silvers, and Pan never find out about Atlas not being a Silver
- why can she still shift

A couple unanswered questions is fine, but the attention to detail and then not answering a question doesn’t work in a series where the story only has one book. 💁🏽‍♀️

Heroine was great. Sex was great. Loved the hero’s as well. Didn’t like the writing continuity.

Gwendolyn has lived through a nightmare, with her village perishing in a fire and her parents being killed. One of the few survivors, she is taken in by a kind man, a beta called Caleb, welcomed into a new family... only until he lives. The moment it is clear he is not coming back, you get the classic Cinderella bitches there. Gwendolyn's stepmother Sussana and her awful daughters are making her life hell on earth, up to the point she is offered as a sacrifice to vampire MC. But the outcome is definitely different than she expected... and a very different life is now awaiting her. The captured omega now has to collect all her wits and her inner strength to not fall prey to the predators around..
A nice and easy to read paranormal romance with vampires, shifters, and MC world building when the focus us zeroed in on emotions and feelings, chemistry between the characters, and character development. The plot is a little pushed to the background, but with Gwendolyn, Atlas, and especially Pan in the spotlight, it is not very surprising. I finished this standalone in one go without any need for interruption.

I don't think I've ever read a Peter Pan retelling before, and honestly, I didn't realize this was one until I was already underway. But... I think I need more Peter Pan in my life.

I really liked this standalone from C.R. Jane and Mila Young. They've taken the Pan story and added wolves and vampires and all sorts of paranormal creatures. And a motorcycle club... this is part of a shared world, in which all of the books are various MC's with various paranormal species, but each can be read as a complete standalone.

I both appreciate and dislike that this was a standalone. Things wrapped up nicely and it didn't feel too rushed, although I would definitely read more about Darkland and its residents. The relationship is a RH, but a bit of a slow burn to get there. And the spice was spread enough throughout the story that I didn't feel like it was completely overtaking the plot, but at the same time I never got the "where's the spice?" either. I'd say this one was 🌶🌶🌶🌶/5

I definitely recommend this one for fans of the authors' other works, as well as anyone who enjoys a Peter Pan retelling or vampires in general.

This was an interesting crossover between the wolf shifter world and the vampires. The relationship building fell flat for me here though. Our main fmc, Gwendolyn, barely has time to bond with her fated wolf mate, Atlas, before she's given over to the vampires who originally intend to unalive her, but their vampire king, Pan, decides he must keep her instead. So he turns her. I had a hard time figuring out who she was going to end up with besides Pan. I feel like the mention of Finn was unnecessary, as he was barely a part of the story, and none of the other lost boys were mentioned by name except for Luke and Pan's brother, Crocodile. Well, and the one who was punished for touching her. I was disappointed that Crocodile wasn't brought in the fold too. Atlas' return did make me happy, but I wish she'd had more time with him one on one, and the same goes for Luke. It felt like Pan ate up all her time, and the others were mostly background. I needed more bonding moments to sense the connection. Some of the chapter transitions were choppy, and this left me in some confusion about certain events as well. The story had potential, but for me, it was just okay.

Rapture

This book was truly a breathtaking re-imagining of Peter Pan in a sexy and unbelievably fantastic new world.

Gwendolyn lost everything she held dear at a young age and was rescued from unbelievable pain from a foster father who loved her like his own, but good things don’t last for Gwen and when he unexpectedly died, she was left with a jealous foster mother and her two evil daughters.

Just as Gwen was beginning to find some little bits of happiness for herself, fate stepped in and took her away from her love and blasted her into Pan’s world, complete with the Lost boys and Hook!

If you are looking for a new book to sink your teeth into, I highly recommend this one! It’s sexy, Pan is King and has his own MC, Gwen is an Omega who has plans to change her attitude and become more than someone’s perceived toy, she is taking back control of her life…and heaven help anyone that stands in her way!

This book blasted me out of my latest book slump and it will completely draw you in! Come fly with Pan! You will be soooo happy you did!
