This book was free to me and for that I am thankful. I would have been horrified if I'd paid for this drivel. My best suggestion to others is that you steer clear of this one.

The very worst part of this book was on page 232. And I quote... "he felt the sensitive head of his c*** lock tightly against the opening of her cervix. another powerful thrust of ownership took him into her womb. It was a raw act of ultimate possession." Ok, a man with a small penis wouldn't be able to reach there and a man with a large penis would cause so much horrendous pain trying to get through a woman's cervix that this is just total BS. The thought of this happening just makes me cringe and want to cry out in pain myself. NO OBGYN would never consider doing this and would tell you just how DANGEROUS it would be to even attempt this.

The rest of the book is just icky. Lots of descriptions of sex acts. I suppose if you love to read about sex, then this is the book for you. I prefer a novel with some substance and some good deep plot to read. By the third page you are reading about Erik's lust. Good night, he's not even met her yet and he's lusting for her.
I only wish I could give this book a negative rating.

Where to start? I enjoyed the writing most of the time, but the story fell flat. There were so many unrealistic things, and the two main characters don't seem ready to be in a relationship, let alone secretly married. The fact that they both want to keep the marriage a secret is your first clue. And they both keep a "friend" nearby who totally wants them, but who they will never love. Talk about being a tease and leading someone on.

Michelle lies to get out of having difficult conversations, and lets Erik walk all over her and use her however he likes. But I still liked her better than I liked him. He's a terrible father before she comes along. He's still not over his first wife, and is harboring a ton of guilt over it. He's very judgmental about her background, and how "uncouth" she is. He is so out of touch with his feelings, and constantly ignores them to the detriment of his life. He's got some pretty weird sexual hang ups. He won't say he loves her, but is totally willing to marry her so he can enjoy the benefits without feeling guilty. I couldn't stand him. The only character I really liked was Precious (except for her name, ugh).

Since this is a romance novel, you know they have to break up and then get back together in the end. I found this whole section hard to read; both the breakup and the getting back together felt fast and forced.

Not much else to say about the book. I'm glad I got it for free. But what's up with the cover? Isn't Michelle supposed to be black? She just looks like she's got a tan.

The Doctor's Secret Bride (Billionaire Brides of Granite Falls)
This story really captivated me. How does one come out of the tremendous pain of losing a loveone and find away to rebuild their life. Dr. Erik Lacrosse and Michelle Carter were both coming from that place. Michelle was strong she knew that all she learned in growing up in a rough neigborhood were tools to be utilized in making her way in the world. While coming from a world of wealth and elitism. Erik was a father who through himself into his work to ease the pain of his lost. Here is where their two worlds collide.
I loved how Ms Ross tells this story of family, love and the deep need to trust someone with that love. This read was beautifully told intense, passionate, erotic. What was really poignant about this read is that Erik in all is angst about his feeling of mistrust towards Michelle. Her unconditional love for him and his daughter Precious. Made his love for her richer and deeper than he ever loved his deceased wife. Win/Win, I would definitely recommend this book. Well done!

This could have easily been a 5 star review. But I was a bit disappointed. The book is about Dr. Erik LaCrosse who's wife Cassie has been killed by a drunk driver, at the time they had a 5 year old daughter Precious. Two years into the future Precious needs a new nanny. Michelle Carter is down on her luck, her drunken father has stolen all of her money and disappeared. She needs a job fast. She becomes Precious's new nanny. Their is immediate sexual chemistry between Dr. Erik LaCrosse and Michelle. The story has such great potential, but I had a big problem with the relationship between Erik and Michelle, their is a BIG White Elephant in the room; his deceased Wife Cassie!! The entire story centers around Cassie and Erik's past courtship and marriage. Even the few romantic loving making scenes between Erik and Michelle Cassie is mentioned, it feels like someone just through buckets of Ice Water on what could have been a very HOT Lovemaking scene in the book. No matter what came up with the other characters in the story Cassie was their too. Their are some wonderful, rich characters in the story, but their is always Cassie. It felt like I was reading a Manage, a threesome between Erik, Cassie and Michelle and I don't like threesome's. I wish Ana Ross had did more to build the story and romantic love relationship just between Erik and Michelle. It became impossible to believe Erik loved Michelle, she was always compared to Cassie in everything. Erik was a real butt head and didn't treat Michelle fairly. Michelle should have kicked him to curve and let him stay their. She forgave him to quickly, but she loved Precious as her own, so for that I can understand. Precious is written beautifully. I fell in love with this little girl myself. I really wish the story was just centered around Erik Michelle and Precious and not Cassie. To explain how she dead and brief description of her relationship with Erik and Precious would have been enough.

Arrggg.....here there be spoilers. Read at your own risk.

I am so glad that I didn't pay for this book. It is horribly written. I can get past the typos and incorrect usage of punctuation. I can't get past what the author thinks makes up a good romance novel.

In one particular scene Erik and Michelle have been out on a lovely dinner, they are leaving, the valets pull the car up to the front of the restaurant. Erik leans Michelle against the car, unbuttons her dress, and does everything but have sex with her right then and there. In full view of anyone looking. Then later in the novel when the typical break up is happening Erik essentially forces himself on Michelle and she thinks it is okay because he needs an outlet for his pain. Then after putting Michelle through all of the pain of the break up, annulment, and forcing her out of his life he finds out she's pregnant, rushes to her side, and after a two minute discussion she takes him back. This just disgusts me. It makes Michelle look weak and desperate and with no self-esteem whatsoever. Either that or she is just so desperate for attention and money that she will stay with a man who walks all over her and treats her as worthless.

I wish I could give this a negative review but what I really wish is that this had never been written or that there was a better editor on this project that would not have let it go to press as is.

Soooo I have had this book on my Kindle for years, sad but true and this is why I made an active commitment to read the books I already own. Yes I still 1-click every now and then but its only for the authors I read religiously. But this book was a real hidden gem on my e-reader.

Michelle Carter is a college graduate who had everything going for her until her drunken father stole her debit card, cleaned out her bank account, she lost her job due to layoffs and would have been homeless if not for her brother and her best friend. Now she desperately needs a job because she is tired of the temping and wondering about whether she is going to have a job the next day. So when she signs up with a nanny agency she had no idea that her life was literally about to change and unbeknownst to her she had her very own fairy godmother to open up the door for her.

Dr. Erik LaCrosse is a widower and a father, his last nanny fell in love and got married. Now his daughter is miserable and he doesn't know what to do because the last few nanny's he had sent over to see if they will be good for his daughter, she rejected them. Now at his wit's end the agency sends over another but to his dismay and pleasure, a woman is walking up his path and she doesn't look like Nanny McPhee (LOL!!!). The last thing Erik wants or needs is to be tempted, so he tell his friend and confidant of his home Mrs. Hayes to send her away but Erik didn't realize that Mrs. Hayes was the one to set the whole thing up. Erik had no idea that this woman was going to turn his world literally upside down and his daughter is madly in love with her, so what is he supposed to do?

Michelle Carter knows she doesn't have the pedigree that Erik comes from but she is a great and loving person, who loves his daughter Precious and over time falls for him. But secrets from both of their pasts could destroy everything. Can they trust the other with their deepest pains and heartaches to come out on the other side victorious with each other.

This is my second book by author Ana E. Ross and I really enjoyed it. I love the whole dynamic between Erik, Michelle and Precious, they were a family and didn't even realize it fully until their world was threatened and broke apart. A wonderful story with an equally wonderful ending.

Well Until My Next Review...Ciao Bellas!

Save yourself time, money and aggravation.

I waited a few days after completing this book before I reviewed it. It didn't make any difference. I did not care for the story and I thought the good doctor was a hair this side of crazy. The story did not flow well for me and it was just plain strange.

Straight from the book: After ten years as a gynecologist, he'd learned to channel his sexual energy elsewhere when he walked into an examination room to see a patient. It was all professional. (That was just too weird and had a huge ick factor!)

I also never had a good mental image of what Michelle looked like. The cover shows a Caucasian woman but a few times in the book her fingers and legs were described as brown. Very confusing for those of us who create images in their minds. I did not connect with any character in this book.

There were 200, yes, two-hundred instances of his dead wife's name being used in this 319-page book...so very overdone! And what adult in their right mind would name their child Precious?? I pitied that little girl being stuck with a name like that. Did her parents' not give a thought to the teasing and ridicule she would receive in school??

I will close here because I don't have anything good to say about this book. I cannot in good conscience recommend it.

beautifully written story ... love the author's writing but the doctor was so very very obsessed with he's dead wife that it clouds the love story... so i did not care for the story itself...

OH,OH,OH! Ross did a fantastic job spinning this tale. Strong characters and endearing scenes that makes you laugh, cry, smile and even holla'.

Precious, Michelle's ward just a hoot! Michelle, so strong and dedicated to everyone! Erik--- no words to describe him but "all male". Mrs' Hayes' character was one of mystery to me as though you was a fairy godmother.

I loved it and recommend it! Now I can't wait til the next in the series, The Mogul's Reluctant Bride-Book Two

awful...just awful.I seriously have to quit getting so download happy with these free ebooks because they still aren't worth it. the heroine is just to pitiful for me to like her and the hero seems like an arrogant jerkwad so I didn't even make it through chapter one. can't speak about plot or really the writing but the characters were so unlikeable I just couldn't...

I wanted to love this book. It appeared to have it all, a likable heroine, a handsome and wealthy hero, and motherless child. If the author would have kept it that simple, it would have been better. The back story of the main characters became a far-fetched and convoluted mess. It read like a soap opera. And the language...I'll admit, crude and crass euphemisms for sex and sexual organs aren't for everybody. Then again, using correct medical terminology during an intense love scene isn't exactly the way to go either. The inevitable conflict was no surprise but the character's responses to it were unexpected. All in all, it wasn't horrible, but I would only recommend it to young women who were into overly dramatic and drawn out romances. If you're a mature reader, move on.

This book was amazing... I just couldn't put it down. It took me through so many emotions that sometimes I wanted to scream but to me that's what makes a great read. Something you can get lost in that just pulls you into the story until the very end. I can't wait for the other books in the series to drop. If you haven't guessed already, strongly recommend this book

My first read from this author and I really enjoyed it. The chemistry between Erik and Michelle was off the charts. They had a cute tit for tat relationship in the beginning which was pretty comical at times. Once they got down to their true feelings for one another the pages of this book were on fire. Looking forward to reading book 2.

Good writing and a good set up of initial meeting between Michelle and Erik. I liked reading about a female character who was almost completely broke in the beginning and hurt both emotionally and physically as a child and in later years. She was a hard worker and did all she could for kids who didn’t have enough even though she wasn’t rich herself. I loved how Michelle won over Erik’s daughter, Precious, in the silliest and most original way. I did not see it coming. It was sweet how Michelle got emotional so easily whenever she saw someone else hurting.

Erik was also a good hero. He has been through so much in relation to the death of his wife. There is regret, loneliness, and guilt. He not only lost his wife but his best friend with whom he does not speak with anymore. He tries to guard his feelings so much but ends up having such strong feelings for another woman in his life. It was so hard to see him declare his strong love yet feel that it isn’t possible to fulfill it after a few mistakes.

Some of the parts of the story were painful as it often is with death and some of the what-ifs that come with it. I liked the descriptions of different emotions even the mention of one or two of the characters believing in something slightly spiritual/paranormal.

There is a side story of a love triangle which I hate reading about but it was a little different and interesting. I wanted to figure out what was going on. The book at times touches upon old fashioned practices regarding intimacy and I was glad that was included since nowadays it seems that people can just have all kinds of relationships with anybody. It didn’t appear vulgar and intimate/bedroom scenes were so well written.

There were just a few things for which I could not give the book a full 5 star rating:

I don’t like it when characters don’t think that there is even a 1% chance that different theories revealed to them than their own have a possibility of being true. One of the characters reveals their thoughts about Michelle’s family but she immediately dismisses it.

Another thing was that near the end when Michelle talks about her secret/lie, she is relieved that she has told all of it but in reality she hasn’t told the most important part. It was another major risk for her to keep it to herself thinking that it doesn’t matter anymore and it did have a major effect later.

I think the main reason for me not giving a 5 is this one. I like the intense feeling near the middle/end when it seems like the H and h won’t end up together but the intensity in this book was too much. The book does a great job of showing how if you really love someone, you can forgive so much and welcome them back. Love was definitely portrayed so well in the beginning and a large part of the middle. But this story has that common scenario in which there are misunderstandings that keep the H and h apart for way too long. In this case, both characters are seen with their exes or people vying for their attention which obviously will give the wrong impression. Not only that, one of the characters could have asked a blood relative for help but chose to do the most obvious, sure to cause a conflict act, by asking help from someone from their past. And not only that, a lot of times authors don’t give enough information about the thoughts or intentions of characters when talking about misunderstandings regarding the “other men or women.” Even though we are shown snippets of the truth, it’s not clear enough whether the relationship might have been headed beyond the basic “getting together to talk” or “I need your help.” It almost seems like one of them was in a relationship while the other might have thought about it. Sometimes as a reader of romance with these types of situations I am left feeling like I was not given enough details. Some people might say that’s not important, it’s only a story. But I would like to be told in clear words that there wasn’t a chance or that they hadn’t thought of it.

Overall, it was a good story that definitely seemed real. It was a good combination of characters/emotions/conflicts. For picky and holders of extreme notions about love type of people like me, this almost made me think less firmly about mistakes made in love. It pushed me to get over what is lost and think of what we can have!

TREMENDOUS STORY!

TREMENDOUS STORY!

Michelle and her brother, Robert were left on their own when their mother died. Abandoned by their drunken dad, Robert not only took care of Michelle, but managed to become a Dentist with a successful practice. They survived and grew up with the help of their mom's friend, Mrs. Hayes. Michelle was a compassionate, kind and giving person, earned a college degree, moved away and got a fantastic job.

Her dad returned and in need of a place to stay. She helped, but only to have her worthless dad steal all her money, credit cards, and much more. She also lost her job during the economic crisis and had to go back to her hometown penniless to search for a job. She still managed to contribute her spare time and any money she could scrape together to help children in the same situation as they were left.

Eric, a wealthy widower that lost his wife in an accident caused by a drunken driver, was in a search of a nanny
for his 7 year-old daughter, to replace the last one who moved. Michelle applied for this position and tried to talk Eric into hiring her to utilize her great experience working with children. He had reservations because of her age and her gorgeous body, and the sensual feelings towards her that he hasn't had since the death of his wife. Then he was informed and highly recommended by his housekeeper Mrs. Hayes to hire her because she knew Michelle. Also because his daughter took to her right away and he heard his daughter laugh for the first time in two years.

A passionate romance bloomed quickly, and though Eric fell hard for Michelle, he wanted to find his wife's murderer before he committed to her. Solving this mystery while holding back on anyone knowing they fell in love, brought a tremendous and tough challenge to both of them. At first Michelle didn't tell Eric her father was a drunk given the nature of his wife's death because she knew that it could not be him, as he left town before the accident occurred.

Happiness, sorrow, and unexpected circumstances arise, and keeps you sitting on the edge of your chair waiting to see how everything can work out.

This book pulled me in right away. It was an emotional story. Michelle worked and saved for years. In a blink of an eye she lost it all. Her father who was a drunk, stole all her money that she had saved up. Afterwards she lost her job because of the slow economy. When she took a taxi to her job interview, hoping to get the job as a nanny, she only had $12 left to her name.

Dr. Erik LaCrosse is still grieving his wife Cassie. She was hit by a drunk driver, and he has hired a P.I. to find out who killed his wife. He is raising his 5 year old daughter Precious. Her nanny left them to get married. When he went through an agency to find another nanny, he asked for anyone 50 years old or older.

He was not happy when he sees Michelle step out of the taxi. She is young, and beautiful. He gives her a chance and she falls in love with the little girl, making her laugh. The two really have fun together.
From the first time Michelle and Erik met, there was a sexual chemistry between the two. For most of the book Erik was not ready to give his heart away again, for part of his heart still belonged to his wife that died. When he was ready, he found out some information that brought him to his knees. He didn’t think he could trust Michelle, and he took out his pain on her that night. She left after that. It took months for Erik to realize that he was a jerk. The end was really good. It’s just sad that it took that long for him to realize he couldn’t live without Michelle.

I did receive a Free ARC Copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I haven't read any other books by this author, this book was enjoyable.

This book is about, Michelle who has interviewed for a nanny position to look after a wealthy Doctor's daughter. The Doctor - Erik, is a widower and hasn't really moved on in the 2 yrs since he's wife's passing. Michelle was in the Human Resources profession, however, due to her companies downsizing she lost her job and was down on her luck. She works at a local teen community center and helps the kids with homework, advice, anything they may need.

We find out that the Erik's wife was killed in an accident involving a drunk driver. We also find out that Michelle's Dad was a drunk and very abusing towards her and her brother, and she instantly thinks it might have been him who killed the Erik's wife.

Michelle grew up on the wrong side of the tracks basically, while Erik always had a silver spoon in his mouth.

I didn't like how Erik wanted to keep their relationship a secret simply due to the fact the reporters would have a field day with it. I think if he truly loved her he wouldn't have kept their relationship a secret. However, Michelle was fine with not sharing their love for the public. I didn't like that it was a big secret.

Michelle & Erik do seem to be a great match together, however, secret's and not sharing information can help and also hurt one another.

After reading a 67 page "bootylicious" story, I needed some real romance or at least some serious non-fiction, a simple romance with a great ending. Michelle is a woman with a broken past - A fragile family. Down to her last dollar and job, she takes a position as a nanny to Dr. Erik LaCrosse, a widowed with a child name Precious.

When they first meet, the sparks fly, but the Doctor is cautious and so is Michelle. Each of them have secrets and it does come out in the end, but the journey to that end is very exciting. You know what I truly enjoyed about this story is the emotional roller coaster between Michelle and Erik, well written I must say. The flow of romance between each stepping forward and backward. The cagey way they look at each other. The quickness of Michelle and Precious friendship blooming into love. It was so soft and exciting at the same time. What a great romance story. I got her other book, The Mogul's Reluctant Bride - Book Two (Billionaire Brides of Granite Falls).

This is one of my favorite tropes. It just feels so naughty. The widowed billionaire and his younger, broke nanny. Ms. Ross definitely added several different spins on this story though. Poor Michelle has been through the ringer. She had a very rough childhood after her mother died giving birth to her. If it wasn’t for her brother, she probably wouldn’t have made it. Erik doesn’t want to give Michelle a chance as the nanny, but Precious’ reaction to her seals the deal.

These two fight their attraction for as long as they can, but the chemistry is scorching. They can’t even be in the same room as each other. After reading this book, I immediately went out and bought the second book in the series. I can’t wait to read the third book either. I’m hooked on Granite Falls!

I got this book for free on Amazon, wasn't sure what to expect when I opened it up.
Michelle Carter has had a very tough life but she sees the positive, keeps moving forward and gives to the the community. I liked that her character did not really change in that sense throughout the book, she had goals and they continued throughout the story.
Dr Erik lost his wife tragically 2 years ago and has a 7 year old daughter and needs a nanny. His daughter is sad and misses her mom and her dad. He hires Michelle a young beautiful woman who is as taken with his daughter as she is with her instantly.
Sexy romance with a lot of turbulence.

Wow! The Doctor's Secret Bride was such a great book and written so beautifully. I love to read a book where you can connect and feel the characters feelings, and this book was written just like that for me. My heart broke and fell in love right along with Michele's. Now, I am still not surer how much of a fan I am of Erik but he sure does know how to "love" a woman. Cannot wait to read more from this author. Wonderful job Ana.

What a great book this was. The doctor wife dies at the hand of a drunk driver. Sad, and he has a 5 year old daughter to raise. He hires a nanny the daughter falls in love with on the spot. The nanny finds out the wife is killed by a drunk driver and she wonders if its was her father before he run off and leaves her high and dry years ago...You have to read it to find out.

I didn't think I would like this book as well as I do. I don't want to give anything away in the story, but I was kind of shocked with one of the subjects Ana E. Ross talked about. I have not seen it talked about in too many books over the years. But, I have to say, she did a great job! I can't wait to get the next book in the Billionaire Brides of Granite Falls series!
