I was told off as a child for making up stories—little did I know that one day I’d earn my living by writing them!

To the horror of my parents, I left school at sixteen and held a bewildering variety of jobs: I was a London DJ (in the now-trendy Primrose Hill), a decorator and a singer. After that I became a cook, a photographer and, eventually, a nurse. I waitressed in the south of France, drove an ambulance in Australia, saw lots of beautiful sights but could never settle down. Everywhere I went I felt like a square peg—until one day I started writing again and then everything just fell into place. I felt like Cinderella must have when the glass slipper fit!

Today, I have the best job in the world, writing passionate romances for Harlequin. I like writing stories which are sexy and fast-paced, yet packed full of emotion—stories that readers will identify with, laugh and cry along with.

My interests are many and varied—chocolate and music, fresh flowers and bubble baths, films, cooking and trying to keep my home from looking burglarized! Simple pleasures—you can’t beat them!

I live in Winchester, one of the most stunning cities in the world, but don’t take my word for it—come see for yourself! I regularly visit London and Paris. Oh, and I love hearing from my readers all over the world…so I think it’s over to you!

Last book of the year! 2022 is in the can.

100 books in one year! I moved, got a new job, and through it all read so many books. Granted, most of them are category length, but that is still a feat and I am proud of all the books I finished this year.

Royalty stories are so hit or miss, but I really enjoyed Corso and Rosie. Sharon Kendrick is a Presents legend and still got it! The humor and sexiness of the book shine through as always.

The premise for this book is unique as well. Without giving too much away, King Corso has Rosie agree to tour with him and as part of the King's royal entourage, they have plenty of opportunities to get close. And boy do they.

One thing I will say I miss is the possessive alpha in Presents. It's what separated the books from other contemporary romances, but I guess the alpha is gone now in trade-published romance.

Kings and their choices

Very wonderful story about a man who stayed celibate for seven whole years once his childhood friend told him about a pregnancy trap being set for him by a greedy woman. I was shocked at that and I had to look to make sure that this was really a Sharon Kendrick book. Her heroes seem to always be playboys and cheaters. Not this one really. Yes they knew each other as children, but that is it. No romance at all. Then he invites her family to his 25th birthday party. He was a total jerk for that. Believe me. Plus he was a cynical playboy too. The heroine was only 18, bony and still a child really but he was so totally mean to her. His thoughts about her were nasty and demeaning. But then he sees her seven years later and he wants her. But he hurts her too. Then another six month separation while he looks for a queen. It almost made me cry. There is a lot more going on too. Don't want to spoil everything now do i?!? I just wish the epilogue would have had babies. But it was a good story. Not quite five because boy his treatment of her but darn close.

Hahaha.

When SK is on top form, she really is a mistress of this genre. It’s inevitable that such a prolific writer like SK won’t please all of us all the time. I am certainly one reader who has often disliked her books and yet absolutely adored this one.

Thankfully, this is an utterly fabulous story, with a gorgeous heroine who starts the book being treated abysmally by the hero but ends up as his queen several years later.

She stands up to the hero, challenges him and he finds this fascinating.

Corso is a difficult character to like at the beginning of the book and for quite a while in fact. Arrogant, selfish, entitled and not worthy of Rosie’s love. But of course we get to know him, understand him and love him.

His revelation of seven years of celibacy adds a real piquancy to the relationship and to the sex scenes which are really well written.

Looking forward to the half-brother’s story next.

Stolen Nights with the King is Sharon Kendrick’s grown up fairy tale version of “Snow-White & Rose-Red". And a beautifully written emotional and gripping tale it was.

With their past, the last thing Rosie expected was Corso to come knocking on her door in the woods asking for her help. Travelling the world with him was the last thing she wanted to do... after all the mighty King was starting to stir up feelings she’s never felt before. At the command of her sister, Rosie reluctantly agrees knowing payment received will be the end of all their financial woes. The time spent close together, feelings are swirling and one kiss is all it takes!

What an adventure! I was captured quickly and didn’t put this one down until finished. I loved Rosie and her stoic bravery. I loved the way Sharon Kendrick brought the King to his knees. Corso is a beautifully written King. The additional mystery of Corso’s half brother added to the intrigue. Through the pages I followed two people falling in love and I loved the way it was done.

Stolen Nights with the King by Sharon Kendrick is also book 1 of the Secrets of the Monterosso Throne Series and I am very much looking forward to the story of Rosie's sister which has been very nicely set up and teased during the conclusion of Stolen Nights with the King.

Simply adored!

Well written, but I wasn't invested in either the H or h. The plot was as per usual, for this type of Harlequin romance.

Rosie and Corso were once childhood friends, back in the day when the difference between a commoner and a prince didn’t seem to matter so much. Corso was always at their home, comfortable with her family, as her father was a bit of a mentor to him, and she believed they were friends. Fast forward a few years, Corso is a powerful prince now, those childhood visits are a distant memory, and somehow Rosie has an invitation to an important event. She’d rather blend into the background for this is far from her comfort zone. When she inadvertently overhears a stunning woman (who is Corso’s current arm candy) declaring to her friend that she is about to snag herself a prince by pretending to be pregnant and conveniently “losing” the baby after the wedding ring is on her hand and the crown on her head. Enraged at what is planned for her old friend, Rosie will try to get the chance to speak to Corso but is brushed aside… until she makes a stand and forces Corso to speak to her. Of course, he doesn’t seem to believe her but also it is announced that the King, his father, is dead, and Corso is whisked away to begin his duties as the new King.

Now, Rosie has her own career to tend to and financial woes to help her sister and mother deal with. It’s not an easy life, but the choices are hers alone… until Corso arrived on her doorstep in the woods with an impossible proposition.

Stolen Nights with the King has one of the most arrogant, bullheaded, at times meanspirited men I’ve run into lately. And since I read a lot, well, that’s saying something. There is a lot that Rosie is kept in the dark about on this proposed tour with the King. It is only the financial bonus at the conclusion of this tour that will change her mind about agreeing. She’s finding very little about her old childhood friend in this stranger making his demands, but for the memory of that boy, and to help her mother Rosie will embark on an adventure that will change her life – and perhaps mellow an arrogant man as well.

I enjoyed their story and loved Rosie completely. There are secrets, a few twists, definitely passion, and a growing love that needs some tending to before it can bloom and be returned back to Rosie. There were moments of irony, times when I wanted to shake some sense into Corso, and I’m wicked enough to have enjoyed his groveling at one point in time. Stolen Nights with the King is a very good set-up for the next story in this duet/series, Her Chrismas Baby Confession, where Rosie’s sister gets her romantic adventure. If you love an arrogant hero, a trusting heroine, hidden agendas and twists, and a passionate romance then you’ll want to pick this one up soon.

I own a Kindle edition of this title.

So I was a bit wary reading the last review. I mean I wait for Sharon Kendrick’s books cos I love them and maybes shes written one finally that I won’t like. I needn’t have worried. Yes Prince Corso is tough and mean to begin with at least, and even more brutal when he’s suddenly King - but thataways is how I love my hero’s. Rosie has her work cut out turning his eyes and heart back to her. I loved feeling with her, in all these amazing places round the world, in her hard challenge to do so! That wait is worth it too. Just have to wait for a few months now for another Sharon Kendrich book alas...

A very good book

The h and H were childhood friends, he was a prince who had spent time at the h’s home, her father was his mentor. When he became king, their relationship changed, unbeknownst to her, there is a secret brother in the mix. The characters were very well developed and the plot was good, it held my attention. Looking forward to the next book in the series. Great epilogue.

I found the King to be obnoxious and arrogant in the beginning, however I liked the groveling he did in the end. I respected that he was the one to come around after 6 months later. Most HP stories have the H discovering the he wants to be with the Heroine weeks later. I sometimes roll my eyes on that.. at least Corso took sometime to really think about his feelings and was considerate to Rosie and her brand new career.

Corso and Rosie bonded as children, but he was a prince, and she was the daughter of the King's archaeologist. Their first meeting, as adults, at his birthday party is awkward, and the differences between their lives are apparent, but years later, he needs a favour, and only she can help him.

Best described as a passionate fairytale romance with glamorous settings and sensual romance. The characters are traditional rather than contemporary, which fits with the fairytale storyline. Rosie is innocent but independent. Corso denies his emotions. To find true happiness, they have to learn to trust.

I like the glamourous setting and the fairytale romance.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher.

King Corso and Rosie grew up together in the Royal Palace. He was a prince, she an archeologist’s daughter. Rosie and her family left the country and Corso eventually became King. Rosie was invited back to accompany him on a royal international tour. She couldn’t really refuse and animosity turns to desire but will a few stolen nights be enough?
