I own this comic.

Life Day is one of my favourite things in the Star Wars universe because honestly, despite it being a day for celebration, nothing ever goes right. I loved seeing this story that collects a number of different Life Days going wrong for Han and Chewie throughout their adventures, ranging from before they were involved in the rebellion right up until Ben is a young child. I loved seeing some of Kashyyk and Chewie's home and seeing more of our favourite criminals throughout their adventures. The art in this was great, the stories were fun and it was honestly just a good time.

"I hardly see how decapitating innocent droids is appropriate for a holiday celebrating harmony and family"

A fun little story. I wish it was longer because there was so much going on, things started to get jumbled up.

Peace and Harmony

story:
Cavan Scott's one-shot "Life Day" tells a few quick stories around the most important holiday on Kashyyk: Life Day. Everything is framed by Han and Chewie landing on Black Spire Outpost to meet an old friend, just to fall right into a trap organized by the Kanjiklub...

rating:
"Life Day" really is a cute little story which manages to really transfer the spirit of Life Day. All the short events Han remembers while trying to outplay the Kanjiklub show the importance of the holiday, especially for the walking carpet Chewbacca. Whoever expects a great show or shivering action doesn't have the right spirit. "Life Day" fills a small gap and does that by being charming. It can be compared to a children's book with a moral. Nothing big but entertaining for a cozy afternoon. The characters are exactly the way you'd expect, nothing surprising happens. The panels are well styled, all feels real and rich with colors.

conclusion:
A small entertaining trip to space christmas - for the inner child of every fan. 4/5

I'm going to be honest, I had never heard of Life Day until I was at Disneyland and walking around Batuu. So when I saw this little story, of course I wanted to read this to learn more about it. And this was adorable. I loved learning how important Life Day was to Chewie and how much Han Solo wanted his best bud to be able to celebrate it. The format of the story was a little confusing as it kept jumping to the past in the middle of a scene, but once you get a handle on what the author is doing, you can put the pieces together and enjoy this heartfelt celebration.

Little nice comic!

Several of our favorite authors team up for this Life Day special. A combination Thanksgiving/Christmas holiday celebrated by the Wookiees, it appeared first on the dreaded Holiday Special, decades ago, and it has had a sort of resurrection in later years. The comic starts when Chewie and Han Solo travel to Batuu (the planet of the Disney parks) in the time between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens. While cornered by several parties wanting his head, Han reminisces some older tales (plus a High Republic one) giving meaning to the holiday. Good one!

I didn't quite know what to expect from this title and we ended up with something that was a tad all over the place - sort of like the original holiday special that first taught everyone about Life Day. There's a lot of Han running, different Wookie characters investigating this and that and with everything getting wrapped up rather quickly.

Really didn’t get into this one. I enjoyed seeing characters from the Original Trilogy but it didn’t grab me. I get why it’s put chronologically after Trail of Shadows but that was just one of four stories in this issue. I don’t know, felt kind of messy. I loved learning more about the Wookiees though.

Great Life Day!

It is always amazing seeing aspect of the Star Wars universe you rarely think about. Like holidays. Life Day is amazing wookiee holiday and I'm glad to see it has been picked up by so many others during the New Republic. How we all our forged by past cultural practices as well.

"I liked it!" - 3.5 star rating, with a round down.

Surprisingly good!

I had little hope and low expectations for a ~30 page comic about Wookiees and the Life Day holiday... but wow, this surprised me.

Fun, action packed, great Han Solo content, and more Wookiees than you can shake a wroshyr stick at.

Really enjoyed this lightweight, one-shot, entertaining comic.

I like the idea of a few stories based around Life Day. The stories are pretty average (and there's a bit too much meanness toward Threepio). Still, it's obviously better than the original Star Wars Holiday Special.

Honestly, the stories are so short that some get a bit confusing - not enough time to develop the stakes or make the solutions clear, I guess. But it's fun, and I'm glad to have at least one more piece of content with Burryaga!

Milá věc, co mi naladila vánoční atmosféru. Pěkně průměrné příběhy, ale taky pěkná různorodá kresba a pohodový feel je super. Jako účel to splnilo a není to ani hloupý.

A fun and festive read for this time of year. I love that Life Day has come back in a big way in canon and that this story has our favorite scruffy looking nerf herders involved. Happy Life Day!

Would probably rate a 3.5/5

It was a fun read, but pretty short! As someone who watches the Holiday Special yearly, I love that Life Day is getting acknowledged in the canon. I might’ve liked this more if it were a deeper, single story instead of a handful of shorter ones, but they were all still worthwhile!

Decent one-shot that makes for a good holiday read. Artwork is pretty good. Still funny to me how this aspect of the Holiday Special has persisted.
