Cecily Bain has become everything she never wanted as The Prince of the Twin Cities. But her rule over a fractured, backbiting vampire court is interrupted by an intruder—something big, hairy and full of teeth. Good. She was missing a good scrape.
There’s worse living in the shadows than vampires. Rip open the doors to the World of Darkness as RPG-comic-king Jim Zub joins the writing team that brought you The Masquerade, Winter’s Teeth for this oversized issue events series!
Still a fun read, although I didn't enjoy it as much as Winter's Teeth. I think we could have used a little more build up/development for the Lupines as well as some of the newer Anarch characters. I did dislike a particular character death which felt very abrupt.
I love anything Vampire the Masquerade. It's dark, gritty, and edgy.
This issue takes place in the Twin Cities. Cecily recently took over as the Prince of the area (aka. the ruler in Vampire the Masquerade terms). Cecily isn't quite up to the task. She is alerted to a Lupine presence (aka. a Werewolf) meandering around the Twin Cities. Cecily grabs a crew and heads up to confront the Lupine leading to deadly consequences.
I would highly advise everyone to read the Content Warning above. Vampire the Masquerade isn't a series for everyone.
I loved this. I liked the characters, the story, and the art.
I liked this a lot and would definitely re-read this series.
I came from the vampires the masquerade. It said to be continued here. Seems to be right after the previous one. New plot that is intense and right on the point. Can't wait to read the next ones.
Nice to get back to this story and characters again. But I'm still unclear why Cecily has become Prince now, why she would ever accept, or why she has had a total change of wardrobe - seems very out of character for her. Surely Erin would make the better candidate for Prince, being the protégé of the former Prince?
Still, this new werewolf plotline seems cool so I'm interested to see where that goes. Nice to see some WtA representation!
