Uprooting Shame and Guilt: A Journey To Healing Trauma And Freeing The Inner Child

Rate this book
I hear you. I see you. You matter.

Every child yearns to hear these words, as does the child within us all. But what if the essence of Self is repressed by childhood conditioning before life hardly begins? Being denied the ability to think and feel for oneself prevents the child from evolving into adulthood unscathed, instead weighed down with fear and anxiety.

Uprooting Shame and Guilt unravels the author’s journey in extracting herself from childhood trauma and dogma, finding refuge in the power of the mind and freedom from outdated beliefs.

No stone is left unturned as she exposes the most vulnerable parts of her life and her stored shame and guilt accumulated during her upbringing. She hopes her story will help others find the courage to confront their own trauma and step into a life of their own design.

Naomi is an author and entrepreneur residing in the beautiful Okanagan Valley, where hillside vineyards are the backdrop.

Her fascination with the human mind’s power and becoming the observer in her own life have helped her heal from trauma.

Her passion is giving back, listening to the story behind the reactions, and helping others know they are heard and seen.

I really enjoyed this book, it has been assisting me in my healing journey. The way she talks about trauma is very relatable and makes you feel understood. Only criticism is that she states she will tell us the tools she used to heal herself but as I got nearer the end of the book it turned out the things that helped her were in an entirely different book! So that’s not too helpful but overall it has had a positive impact on me:)

Amazing book really insightful and loved the takeaways from this. It did take me a while to read as I had to process things as I read it.
Definitely will be recommending this to other people.

an amazing insight of the authors childhood story and abuse she had happened to her. And how mine has the same reflections to hers and how she was able to overcome and direct and heal and move forward. " Hurt people are attracted to other hurt people." Broken parents can not raise a healthy child." And her able to come to terms she greives the parents she wished she had and the anger she held against them and resentment held her back from forgiving her parents.

This one was recommended by my therapist, and if you're a traumatized Deconstruction Girlie®️ like me, I'm sure you'll appreciate Carr's story.
