La Fortaleza Helada

Rate this book

The book came across to me like a physical actualization of the political thinking of the Joseon dynasty. Words first seem to be beautifully chosen and woven together harmoniously, but upon closer inspection, sentences lack any substantial meaning and real content. The author fills every chapter with these aesthetically sounding sentences that are floating on top of nothing, which becomes atrociously difficult to continue reading after a while. Did the author write the book to show off how many different ways he can poetically describe how cold the winter was in Korea?
