Lulu and the MIssing Tooth Fairy by S E Richey and Jhon Ortiz (Illustrator) is a wonderfully illustrated fantasy. Add a little humor and a young girl’s determination and patience waiting…waiting…waiting for the tooth fairy to show up and your youngster will learn that hope and believing in something that can’t be seen will be rewarded. Also, Trixie will learn what it takes to become a tooth fairy. She never gives up, no matter how many mistakes she makes. Just because something doesn’t go right the first time, it doesn’t mean you won’t get it right the next time. Sure to delight your youngsters.

I love that S E Richey includes the traditions of the tooth fairy across the world.

I voluntarily reviewed a free copy of Lulu and the Missing Tooth Fairy by S E Richey.

LULU AND THE MISSING TOOTH FAIRY had me laughing and smiling the whole time! I couldn't wait to find out what was going to happen to both Lulu, her tooth, and the new Tooth Fairy. I particularly loved the back and forth scenes of what Lulu was thinking and doing alongside with what the new Tooth Fairy was thinking and doing - very cleverly done! The illustrations were great and made me smile even more...a fun read!

This was such an adorable book and I loved the illustrations from John Ortiz as well. This book is perfect for those girls who also love fairies. In Lulu and the Missing Tooth Fairy by SE Richey, we meet Lulu who is so excited as she has finally lost her first tooth and can't wait for her first visit from the tooth fairy and to get some money which she dreams she can buy a pony. Lulu places her tooth under her pillow but will get a sad feeling when she discovers the tooth fairy hasn't been yet. Meanwhile, we meet the tooth fairy who is busy training and Lulu is her final test till she can become a fully-fledged tooth fairy but she is having trouble with her address finder and it is sending her all over the place as Lulu's address gets confused and sends her to Mexico instead of the United States. In Mexico, we meet the Mexican version of the tooth fairy known as El Ratoncito Perez who is a Mouse that collects baby teeth from under the pillow. At the end of the book, we see another case which sets up Book #2 as the address finder sends the tooth fairy to France by mistake and we meet the French tooth fairy aka Le Petite Souris which again is surprisingly another mouse-like creature. Lulu and the Missing Tooth Fairy by SE Richey are perfect for readers aged 5-8 years old.

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

I love this adorable book about Lulu and the tooth fairy. Lulu is so very happy she has a loose tooth. Now the tooth fairy will leave her money and she can buy a pony. But will the tooth fairy forget to come to Lulu’s house?

With quite a few twists and turns to this story, your child will be full of laughs as you read this story to them. John Ortiz does a fabulous job with the comical and adorable illustrations. I love the vivid bright colors that bring the story to life. The kids and animals and everything else in the book are precious. I love the cover of the book. It will sure have children picking this one from the shelves first!  Lulu and the Missing Tooth Fairy by S.E. Richey receives a Five Star rating from me.

A special thanks to the author/publisher for a copy of this book. I am not required to write a positive review, the opinions here are mine alone. I am disclosing this with my review in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 255.

Such A Cute Book!

I loved this book! I think the author created a truly fun and one of a kind book here that kids will enjoy. The illustrations were cute and colorful. The story made me laugh as I recalled a time our 5 year old list her first tooth. She was so excited for the tooth fairy to come, and she too, like Lulu, had plans for her money. Sadly, I forgot and fell asleep. My sweet daughter came and woke me in the morning pouty and said the Tooth Fairy never came mom. I felt horrible. However, I quickly came up with a story...this sorta reminds me of it. Adorable, and well done!

I received a complimentary copy of this book from iRead Book Tours. I voluntarily chose to read and post an honest review.

Losing a tooth is a BIG thing for a kid. They get very excited when it starts to wiggle slightly. The excitement only builds from there when it’s extremely loose and barely holding on. Then, when the big moment arrives, and it pops out, they can’t wait to shove it over their pillow for the tooth fairy. It’s like Christmas morning when the tooth fairy gathers their tooth and leaves a coin or bill behind. It’s magical! If the tooth fairy doesn’t come, hearts are broken. That’s precisely what happened for Lulu. Her tooth didn’t get retrieved time and time again.

Poor Trixie, all she wanted was to be a tooth fairy. She can’t help the unfortunate events stopping her from doing her job. I know children will be rooting for Trixie in Lulu and the Missing Tooth Fairy.

Trixie’s determination was inspiring. It illustrated a person never giving up, following their dreams, and triumphing when hope appeared all lost.

What a fun story! And, the illustrations were fantastic too. I loved every character drawn by Jhon Ortiz. I especially liked Trixie’s blue skin and Lulu’s smile (minus one tooth). Kudos to Jhon Ortiz on capturing Lulu and Trixie’s joy and sadness perfectly.

After the story, S.E. Richey gives us some interesting information about the tooth fairy in other parts of the world. I absolutely adored this page because I love learning new facts. My daughter does as well, so this will be a big hit with her. In fact, she’s going to LOVE the entire book, from start to finish!

Lulu and Trixie Share a Fun--and Funny--Tooth Fairy Story. I don't know about your little corner of the world--but, in our little world, we had a missing tooth fairy a couple of times over the years! Trixie, the Tooth Fairy in Training, has some funny misadventures in her efforts to collect Lulu's tooth that little ones will enjoy. I also think this is a fun story to explain a late or missing tooth fairy collection/money drop-off!

Fun Illustrations Show the Excitement and Magic of the Tooth Fairy. Readers will undoubtedly see Lulu's excitement over her loose tooth and her disappointment when she thinks the Tooth Fairy forgot her. Trixie's emotions and determination shine through the illustrations--dotted with a little whimsical magic for families to love.

Would I Recommend Lulu and the Missing Tooth by S.E. Richey? I thought this book was adorable! It is a fun story to get little ones excited about the tooth fairy--and it's a fun story to help them understand what may have happened if their own tooth fairy goes missing! The author does a great job showing both Lulu's and Trixie's sides of the story and gives a fun, happy ending that readers will love.

I was granted complimentary access to Lulu and the Missing Tooth Fairy as part of my participation in a blog tour for this title with iRead Book Tours. Thank you to all involved in affording me this opportunity! My thoughts are my own and my review is honest.

Lulu and the Missing Tooth Fairy features a little girl named Lulu and a student tooth fairy named Trixie. Lulu has just lost her first tooth and she knows just what she's going to spend her special tooth fairy coin on! Unfortunately for her (and Trixie) the new tooth fairy positioning system (FPS) is giving Trixie bad directions and it's going to take a little while longer than expected to get that lost tooth money.

This book is adorable! The story is cute, fun, and not too long, and the illustrations are really fun to look at. This would be a great classroom story to have kids make predictions about what's going to happen next, but I can also see it just being someone's favourite bedtime story. Especially around tooth losing time! (Hopefully all the real kids' teeth get collected and turned into coins a little faster than Lulu's!)

I would absolutely recommend that parents and teachers alike check out this book!

Review by Kristin Joy Riggs

Lulu and the Missing Tooth Fairy is a charming children’s book. Lulu can’t wait to lose her first tooth. She plans on buying a pony with the money the tooth fairy leaves. She places her first tooth under her pillow and wakes with anticipation to get her prize. She is devastated to find that her tooth is still there. The following night she polishes and examines her tooth for flaws and tries again. The tooth fairy doesn’t come. Meanwhile, Trixie, the tooth fairy must complete her final project to graduate. The first night she ends up in Puerto Rico instead of Washington. Determined to get it right she flies out during a storm, but she can’t make it through. On the third night Lulu is discouraged and might not put her tooth under the pillow. Trixie wants to give up. They decided to try one last time.
S. E. Richey writes a winsome tale. It’s a fun story for children who anticipate the milestone of losing their first tooth. Lulu is a relatable character. For the adults, reading this book to their children, it is nostalgic. Jhon Ortiz illustrated this beautiful book. The theme of each picture is simple with good attention to detail. The illustrations compliment the story and add an extra element of wonder. This is a wonderful book for children 4-7.

Lulu has lost a tooth and Trixie, a tooth fairy in training, is on the job. But when Trixie visits the wrong house and doesn't fulfil her fairy duty, will Lulu give up on her dream?

This adorable picture book gives young readers a rare peek inside the world of tooth fairies. From GPS, or rather F(fairy)PS, mishaps to weather delays, the adorable tooth fairy, Trixie, tries her best to become an official Tooth Fairy. Meanwhile, Lulu is a darling 5.6 year old who is excited about losing a tooth and getting a coin from the Tooth Fairy to spend on her very own pony.

The charming illustrations almost have a chalk-like feeling and add a lovely softness to the nighttime scenes. Back matter includes facts about tooth fairies around the world and what children of various nations experience after losing a tooth.

Lulu and the Missing Tooth Fairy is an entertaining picture book and the perfect gift for a child just starting to lose their teeth. With lovable characters, a perfect surprise twist ending and lots of relatable humor for adult readers, this is a wonderful story that will entertain kids and carers alike.

A sincere thanks to the publisher and author for a copy of the book.

I don’t know why I wanted to read and review this because losing teeth absolutely freaks me out but I couldn’t help it I just had to embrace it. Imagine if you could actually buy a pony from losing a tooth. Already I was smiling, appreciating the beautiful illustrations and getting over my phobia. I loved how the tooth fairy had a name and how special she was. The fact you have to graduate to become a tooth fairy was lovely.

It was brilliant how there was a technology element built into discovering the location of the missing teeth so it felt extremely modern. Every page flew onto something new and exciting but it pieced together perfectly. Would the tooth fairy ever get the right location? I can only imagine lulus disappointment as I’ve seen the look on my sons face when I’ve forgot to grab the tooth. It instantly made me feel sad and regretful and definitely a sense of bad mummy vibes.

I adored that it had educational points to get children thinking about asking questions about things like cavities. I love that this is the perfect read for children if their parent forgets. I love that it’s keeping the magic of the tooth fairy alive. Loved this so much.

A cute toothy fairy story! It does hop from the child's point of view then to tooth fairy. It was a pattern of one page was a child, the next the fairy. And it took me aback at first. Mainly because I'm not used to seeing that in picture books. My six-year-old enjoyed it even though I did have to explain a few stuff like GPS (because gasp! I hardly use it) and explain how there are places that have the same name like Paris, Texas, and Paris, France that way she could understand the humor in the book that parents would enjoy. I love how it brings out how different countries have different versions of a tooth fairy, making the child aware of cultural diversity. Also, I don't know if I'm a horrible parent or if it's normal to forget to put something under the pillow 🤦‍♀️. My 6-year-old hasn't lost a tooth, but she's witnessed me forget my oldest daughter twice. The first time she didn't tell me because it happened at night while I was working, and she didn't tell my husband either because he was busy with the baby. The second time it happened in the morning and by night time I'd forgotten!! 😮 So, I commented, "maybe the tooth fairy got lost those times with Robin." Which will take the pressure or guilt off of me if the tooth fairy comes late to my 6-year-old one day. Can anyone relate, or am I that horrible?!! 😆
All in all cute story with great illustrations that we both had fun reading. I rate it a four-star only because I had to explain a lot. But maybe if my daughter was eight and I didn't have to explain, I would have rated it a five star 🤷‍♀️.
This was a complimentary book, and all thoughts are my own.

Lulu has a wiggly tooth in Lulu and the Missing Tooth Fairy, and she can’t wait to get money from the tooth fairy so she can buy a pony! But everything doesn’t go as planned. Trixie, Lulu’s soon-to-be tooth fairy, runs into some problems when she goes to the wrong address.

This is a charming story. Lulu is an adorable wiggly toothed five-year-old, and Trixie the fairy is hilarious. I’m not fond of the all-caps text, but the humor in this story is super fun, and I like the bold, colorful, full-page illustrations. The ending is satisfying and gave me a chuckle.

There’s a page in the back of the book explaining a few cultural versions of the tooth fairy, which I find stimulating. So, not only is this story entertaining, but it’s also educational!

Lulu had a wiggly tooth and was looking forward to turning it into money when the tooth fairy visited. She knew exactly what she would buy with that money—a pony!

But disappointment sets in when Lulu realized that the tooth fairy did not come. What was wrong? Was her tooth not good enough?

In a dual-panel stage, we see Lulu trying to figure out the mystery while Trixie, the tooth fairy, races to get to Lulu.

The illustrations were cute, fun, and colorful. I especially enjoyed the interactive text on the pages. The contrast and the motion of the words certainly drew your eye and made the reading infinitely more fun.

A great and enjoyable read!

Has the "Tooth Fairy" ever missed a visit to your house? If it has, this is the perfect book for you. If it hasn't, this is still a fun read for your pre-school and early elementary-age children.
This is a cute story with a touch of humor and a touch of sadness, too.
It is definitely a new twist on the "Tooth Fairy". It has a page at the end with interesting trivia concerning this tradition.
The cartoon illustrations, by John Ortiz, add to the fun, the silliness of the story.
I offer a Four Stars rating for this book.

This fun book is perfect for the bookshelves of kids ages 5 to 8. The storyline and illustrations are unique, fun, and will keep kids' attention from cover to cover. This whimsical tale weaves a story about a little girl excited for losing her tooth and getting a visit from the tooth fairy. The tooth fairy, Trixie, is facing her own excitement at the test of Lulu's lost tooth to prove she can become *official*.

The inspirational message behind the book is wonderfully executed for the age group it's geared toward. They inspire remaining rooted in the belief of ourselves with a hint of magic. I loved the addition of learning more about the tooth fairy on a cultural level. That adds the perfect touch of education for kids.

Absolutely a treasure of a book!

Lulu and the Missing Tooth Fairy is a charming read! It just so happens that my niece had a loose tooth a few days after the book arrived so me and her had a fun time reading together! The pictures are bright and beautiful! Definitely eye catching for the little ones. And the story was easy for my niece to take turns reading with me! Overall a fun and adorable read! We will be keeping an eye out for the next book to be released!

This was such a cute story and poor Lulu had me laughing. Trixie is in training to be a Tooth Fairy, and this was her first mission. But Trixie is…shall we say, a bit challenged when it came to navigation. She was to visit Lulu on San Juan Island in Washington. Instead, Trixie went to San Juan, Puerto Rico. Lulu was anxiously awaiting the arrival of the Tooth Fairy because she had special plans for the money the Tooth Fairy would leave. But the Tooth Fairy didn’t come. But neither Lulu nor Trixie quit believing.

The illustrations are bold and colorful and always had me smiling. I enjoyed the page at the back of the book that addressed “tooth collecting” traditions in other cultures.

I recommend it for children aged 3-7. It is a great book to read together.

I received an advance copy of the book, but the opinions expressed here are solely my own.

Losing a tooth is a big deal for kids, and it's a big deal for the tooth fairy too! As Trixie, the tooth fairy faces a multitude of challenges while doing her job, she shows readers that persistence is key! I found myself rooting for both Lulu and Trixie! This is a wonderful tale to commemorate and celebrate this milestone in a child's life. I am predicting many toothless littles waking up in the morning to find this book (and some cash) beneath their pillows.

Has the tooth fairy ever missed a pick-up at your house? Tech glitches, frozen wings, and copycat city names are just some of the obstacles tooth fairies have to deal with, it turns out! With split storylines that trace the journey of both Lulu (the child that loses the tooth) and Trixie (the new-to-the-job fairy that wants to collect it oh-so-badly), this sweet book is a dual lesson in both patience and perseverance. It's also a reminder to kids about extending grace--to tooth fairies or anyone else who is just trying their best. ;)

This is a story about a girl who is about to lose her baby tooth and is so excited to be visited by tooth fairy soon and get a coin in return! However things don’t go as planned. It is a beautiful story about not giving up and the very important rite of passage in a young child’s life. Lovely detailed illustrations too!

This was a cute story about the tooth fairy and finding her way to her next pickup and delivery. I read this book (by way of Zoom) to my nephew's kindergarten class and they loved it. I was a "surprise" reader and the class had to guess who the person was. I figured my nephew would have a good clue since we recently had a conversation about him loosing a tooth and my dog's name is LuLu. I loved how the author took the tooth fairy to different parts of the globe. It was delightful.

I chose to read this book after receiving a free copy from iRead Book Tours. All opinions in this review are my own and completely unbiased.

Lulu has been waiting to lose a tooth because she wants the money to buy a pony. Unfortunately, Trixie is about to become a Tooth Fairy but doesn’t have things quite nailed down yet. She ends up going to the wrong address! Trixie is determined to get Lulu’s tooth but when things go wrong again, she thinks she may have to give up until she remembers Grandma Fairy saying that everything is possible with a little fairy dust and a lot of willpower. Will she make it to Lulu this time?

This is an adorable story with bright and colorful illustrations. After the story, there’s information about how different cultures have different traditions when a child loses a baby tooth. So, it’s a fun book but it’s also educational. My favorite kind of children’s book!

Lulu can't wait for the Tooth Fairy to visit to use her money for a pony. Trixie can't wait to be an official Tooth Fairy. But some miscalculations have sent Trixie somewhere else. Lulu thinks the Tooth Fairy forgot and Trixie worries she's messed up. With a little patience and perseverance, these two get what they want with some entertaining and surprising twists in the end in this humorous and sweet story.

Stunning illustrations accompany this moving tale that is a metaphor for simple joys and disappointments we can all relate to in childhood. I loved the cultural references at the back of the book explaining how these milestones are celebrated in diverse ways. My child really enjoyed the pictures and could relate to that longing for the visit, while empathizing with the characters when things didn't quite turn out to plan. (I don't want to include spoilers). I also appreciated the message of the power of determination and the desire to get a job done that is woven so simply and beautifully through this story. Delightful from start to end!

I thought Lulu and the Missing Tooth Fairy was a charming little story. It is, also, my first introduction to author S E Richey’s books. I read it along with my young children and we enjoyed reading this delightful tale. It was fun reading about the Tooth Fairy, as well as, other versions of the Tooth Fairy around the world. Lulu is so precious and could not wait to find out what was going to happen with the story. There were a few giggles along the way, also. We all loved it and had to read it over and over again.

Lulu and the Missing Tooth Fairy is illustrated by the talented artist Jhon Ortiz. Their pictures perfectly go with the story and a great addition to the book. I loved seeing the looks on the children’s faces as they see each page.

Lulu and the Missing Tooth Fairy is getting a very well deserved five plus stars from me. I highly recommend it for readers who are between the ages of three and eight years of age and for families that are looking for a fun story to read together. My family and I will be looking for other books by S E Richey to see where else her imagination will take us to next.

I received a soft cover copy of Lulu and the Missing Tooth Fairy from the publisher, but was not required to write a positive review. This review is one hundred percent my own honest opinion.

Lulu and the Missing Tooth Fairy was the first picture book I ever wrote. I had written a middle-grade novel already. But since I have four children, and some of their favorite books were picture books, we read a LOT of them! I read to them while they ate lunch, before nap time (Invariably, the kids never wanted to sleep, and I would end up passed out. What can I say? Those kids kept me on my toes!) I also read to them during their bath time (Don't worry. They're all great swimmers), and we always, ALWAYS read at bedtime. One of their favorite books was When Mom Turned Into a Monster by Joanna Harrison. Now that I think of it, maybe they liked the darn book so much because they could relate. (You gotta read the book to know what I mean ;) But I digress. Since I read a lot of picture books and loved them so much, it made sense that I should write picture books. So I did.

Our tooth fairy didn't show up at our house for a lot of my kids' teeth. In fact, for one of my daughters, the tooth fairy didn't show up 3 or 4 nights in a row! A lot of tears were shed, and there was a lot of stress on my part. I even emailed the Tooth Fairy Land Complaint Department! Why did she miss so many times for all of my kids? One day, I told some of my friends about our kids' tooth fairy woes and soon found that they had tooth fairy woes too! Their tooth fairies always skipped visits. That's when I knew I had to write a book about this collective problem, and that's when Lulu and the Missing Tooth Fairy was born. It had to be a picture book! I guess you could say that Lulu and the Missing Tooth Fairy is based on "sort of" a true story.

The final product is a LOT different from the original version of this story, thank heavens! Those first drafts were very rough. But that's part of learning. I'm glad I worked and reworked that manuscript many times. It was with this story that I learned to write picture books. I love all of my characters, especially Trixie because she's a lot like me. In fact, we're so much alike that we're almost the same person! ;) I hope you enjoy this story as much as I do.
