In the Unitam Realm, power has always determined where you belong, but Claire’s is growing out of control.
She’s come a long way from the blind, orphaned witch that entered the Academy a year ago, but she still has even farther to go. Her mother’s journals speak of a treason even bigger than the Great War and Claire will need to travel to the Dragon Mountains and beyond to find answers.
The Fae lands are calling her even if Claire’s scared of what she’ll find there. Is her father still alive? Will the Fae be willing to help Claire and her friends find the last missing pieces of the puzzle her mother left her? Or will their ignorance give the corrupt Councilmembers the edge they need to create something more powerful than anything the Realm has ever seen?
However, Claire herself might be the biggest danger to her Triad and friends yet. The closer she gets to her birthday, the more her magic grows out of control. She’ll have to figure out how to master it, before it masters her.
This is the final book of Claire’s story in her slow-burn, HEA trilogy.

Why am I getting a cliffhanger on what is supposed to be the last book or installment in Claire's story? So many unanswered questions in Claire's story at the end of this book and now I have to wait and hope they will be covered or answered in Holly's series? Hmm, super disappointed that this book was ended this way which sucks as I was really enjoying the rest of the book and all of the threads and journeys that took place. Anyway whatever, not sure if I will bother with Holly's series or book at this point. I will just have to call it a day and leave the unanswered questions and plot points undiscovered for myself.
Writing reviews is easy when I like a book and series. It's easy when I can tell you what I liked and why I liked it. Writing reviews becomes harder when I didn't really enjoy a book and series but can't really pinpoint why exactly. And yet I still think it's important to write my thoughts down. Especially because it also helps me to find the books I do like and to avoid the books that are not for me because it helps me to figure out what I do like in books and what not.
There seems to be something with the writing style that doesn't work for me. Even though we're in the third book of the series, and the finale of the heroine's story arc, there is still a lot of explaining and info dumping. And for some reason the explaining and info-dumping never feels natural. The ideas for this world are great, the politics could be great, the history could be great, but it's not explained in a way that really speaks to me.
I also had an issue with the pacing of the story. It's quite clear there is a fight coming. We've gathered information, the characters learned about their powers and we feel how there is more and more danger and pressure. But the fight itself only lasts 2 chapters and since the end of the book was so near already by then it didn't have the impact I had hoped it would have. That's also because it feels like the characters never really lose. When they start something they find a way to win. Always.
This series also would have benefited from having the guys' point of views added. The characters have potential, but it sometimes feels like we didn't really get to know the guys on a deeper level. I think because for our heroine it's so natural to be with them and feel comfortable with them. Adding their point of view to the story would have given us the chance to also build a connection on a more personal level with them.
I had the fourth book on my wishlist, but I think I'm gonna skip it. There are other books I would rather read. There are however a lot of people loving this series. Check out their reviews too to decide if this series is for you or not. After all: There's a book for every reader and a reader for every book.
Something about the storyline in this one just could not hold my attention. I'm not sure why exactly that was because I absolutely loved book 1.
It could have been a few things: ✨ Third-person POV. (This is a 'it's not you, it's me' thing) I have a hard time becoming immersed in third person. ✨ Claire's self-sacrificing nature got super OTT in this book to the point of being kind of annoying. ✨ The phrase "Claire bit her lip" appeared about 10 thousand times. And once I noticed I couldn't NOT notice every time it appeared. It gave me Bella Swan flashbacks in a bad way. ✨ The ending. I can't help but feel like this was a bit of an underhanded sales tactic and I don't really care for it. Thoughts below in spoilers:
As a whole I would rate this series at 3.5 stars but I would absolutely warn new readers about the cliffhanger at the end of Claire's story.
The whole series gets a 3.4 from me. I might read it again, but getting a cliffhanger to encourage reading another series just angers me because I would have read it. I love the story so much and eagerly waited for each release. And I understand a good cliffhanger. I sometimes even enjoy the suspense. But these seemed too much. Like, yes, you want us to pick up the next book. But sometimes the cliffhanger was made to be a big deal, and parts never got answered, or like with the last book, the cliffhanger to get me to read the next series. No. Don't do that. It makes me not want to read it out of spite, even though I genuinely have been waiting and hoping for this since we heard about the circumstances to begin with. But you've ruined it and won't be able to give it the attention it absolutely deserves because you're going to be focusing on a completely different set of characters, and it makes me upset. Genuinely love the story. Upset with how things played out.
I beta read this book for the author, a sweet friend of mine, earlier this month after finishing the first two books in her series. Lots of love, Sunny! ☀️
I’m so disappointed in how this book ended. It should not have been promoted as the end of Claire’s story simply because there were to many things left unfinished. I enjoyed the series but had some issues with how everything came together for Claire. Then you get a quick battle and Claire ends drained and blind again. Yet a sidekick gets a story where possibly the leftovers from Claire’s story will be wrapped up. Um, no, that means Claire’s story isn’t finished. Holly, Bethany, Cody and Zach were all great sidekicks but non of them were interesting enough to warrant a book before Claire’s story is finished. Yes, having their stories told while Finishing Claire’s would be better and have me reaching for the fourth book. What happened with her father? So many holes left but now I’m irritated and don’t want to read Holly’s book to get the answers. Her strange behavior and attitude got on my nerves when she met her mates(?). Just weird. So why?? Why would you do this?
As an introductory series to the Paranormal RH sub-genre this was an ok series. It had the concept I was in the mood for but the execution was very fan fic. The pacing was absolutely abysmal. At least 60% of the plot in this book was superfluous to requirements. The author told the reader many things about these characters, with no actual growth earnt or sign that these were characters in their own right.
The trilogy was great. A ton of plot and a good bit of spice. But the ending left a lot to be desired. I understand that the author wants to fill in blanks left for Claire in Holly’s book, but that doesn’t leave a great taste for me. Holly’s story will be told from Holly’s POV and so that leaves a lot to be desired when things like Claire’s father comes in. That’s not something that should be told from Holly’s POV.
I’m not an author, but that ending did a complete injustice to Claire and her guys, and not to mention the readers. I’ll probably still continue reading in Holly’s story…. But this was kind of a big disappointment. I don’t feel like other character’s happy endings should be told from another’s pov.
I’m kind of disappointed in this “last” book. It’s supposed to be the conclusion of her story but nope there’s a cliffhanger -.- I won’t be reading the next book I’m not interested in having another MC, even though there’s so many unanswered questions.
I honestly gave up reading halfway through, the story felt dragged out and things were getting jumbled. Info dumping x1000 I lost myself and it took me ages to go back and finish it (I ended up skimming it) Whilst I love the characters it just felt like such a long book and in the end was meh
So much potential from the first two books. Not sure what happened with this one.
The good: Our heroine is still growing into her powers. Things are going well for the relationship.
The bad: The men all feel like accessories. They somehow mainly lost their personalities. THAT ending. Hated it. Really hated it. In order to learn more about things end, there is a book 4 -- with a different relationship group that includes and F/F one. YUCK. Not for me. Not my interest at all.
Someone really needs to tell this author that there are other ways to end a book. I’m sure it’s meant as a way to ensure that people keep reading her books but to be honest, I’m not sure if this story is good enough to continue reading if every book is going to end this way.
The original premise of the series was great IMO with the academy setting and the FMC Claire's growing bonds with her Triad and finding about her past, but this book as the end of the story for Claire left a lot wanting, from the ending to the giant plot holes.
We ended up with this global-reaching plot of saving the Realm from the corrupt Council members, but keep in mind, that the whole series so far took place in less than a year, given that Claire hadn't reached 25 years old for her coming of age ceremony by the end of the book. She was described to be at least 24 years old in the first book (5 years old when found by orphanage + about 20 years before Academy invite). Her character was a complete prodigy with magic and weapons, and this was especially apparent during her Fae Traditio trials. Less than a week with were enough to have her successfully fight decades older warriors during her trials.
As many other reviews noted, the way this book ended was incredibly unsatisfying with all the open plot threads from Claire and the cliffhanger that she was just told her . Series conclusions should leave readers with a closure, not a need to read the following (standalone) book to continue wrapping up any the hanging significant plot threads relating to the main character.
For the major plot holes I had issues with:
1. I was suddenly surprised that we were dealing with bras in a smut scene. I thought this was a generic high fantasy world and hadn't expected to deal with modern undergarments at all. I searched the previous two books, and bras were not mentioned at any point then.
2. Why did Claire go through the Fae Elders' demand with the Traditio trials without finding more answers about her father first? It was implied that her father , but Claire never pushed for a clear explanation - even just that the elders wouldn't reveal any information until she passed the trial. She didn't find out otherwise until the trial .
3. The dragon parents said that dragon bonding was usually a bite with Dragon Fire, but Claire's bond was initiated with a hand of Dragon Fire.
4. A recurring mantra was that all magic had a cost... but using magic incidentally with fighting and practicing didn't have a significant cost? Just overusing it and ?
5. Why did Claire have to destroy ? It was obvious she had the villains tied up in her shields, and just destroying was enough to tie up the villains indefinitely...
The pacing also wasn't great, with Claire's final bonding at 85% into this last book and the final battle finished in a couple of chapters. I ultimately didn't feel like I really connected with any of men - we never got more POV chapters from them. While I had enjoyed the first two books, and I am curious enough to read Holly's next book, I don't think I'd revisit this series again in the future. ------ Ratings - completed series: #1 By Her Sight: ★★★★☆ #2 With Her Sight: ★★★★☆ #3 Beyond Her Sight (this book): ★★★☆☆
Book 3 again picks up right where book 2 ended with Claire learning about her mother and the pain she felt from that rolled off the pages. Wow Greta teaching Clarie about her magic and how nonchalant she is about Claire being scared of burning down the tree made me laugh. Wow... watching her mothers death like that...and finding out someone from the academy could be involved. Claire has alot on her plate with that and the ceremony! I loved Claire meeting Malcolm's and Everetts parents! I loved learning about Malcolm's father and how he got the Dagger that Malcolm gave to Claire. I also really enjoyed the whole story about where their Horde is! Very interesting! Oh my gosh!!! I absolutely love Malcolm's mom when Claire was curious about how Dragon's bond, and hiw Claire played along! Oh my gosh! That letter that Claire's mother left for her was amazing. The feelings I got from reading it were sweet and sad but wonderful! I love how the Fae Twins let Claire know a few things about her family. I absolutely love the conversation she had with that person in chapter 42 (not going to put spoilers!) Oh wow! All those Allies! Oh my gosh!?! That price she had to pay... then that freaking ending!!! AAHHHH
Beyond Her Sight follows Claire to the conclusion of her story as she takes on the corrupt council members. I’ve really loved reading Claire’s story and I feel that this book has nicely answered all the questions that have been left open, although it still ended on a cliffhanger which the author said would be dealt with in the next book. I enjoyed all the twists and turns in the book and I was surprised at some of the reveals throughout the story. I loved the characters in this book, and I think my favourites were Greta and the Dragon Mommas, they all had me giggling and laughing. Overall, a fantastic end to Claire’s story and I’m looking forward at seeing where the next book takes us.
2 stars as of 03 Jun 2025 on first reading. In general, this is an okay book for the series. However, I find it hard to get over the fact that the FMC went from no skills in anything to being the best at everything in 1.5 years. She should not be dominating against people that have fought for their survival and are in the prime (best of the best) when she's really only had some school lessons. Over and over this happens making it quite annoying.
Warning, I'm a huge re-reader of books thus my feelings on them can change over time. Any future re-read opinions will be captured below.
I loved the series my only reason for only giving a 4 stars was the cliffhanger ending. Ok I know we will hear more about Claire and her men in Holly's story but personally I'd have preferred it wrapped up in this Trilogy instead of continuing over into a new one.
I've also stated this is YA my reasoning behind this is that although it's RH the relationship content is tame and 'sweet'. I have teen relatives I wouldn't be concerned about reading this too much. Maybe 15+?
Great book, very on par with the others. I loved this series in its entirety, and Claire is such a refreshing character to read from. I am so annoyed at the cliff hanger, but it’s picked right up in the spin off series. I’m sure it’ll be great and satisfying but I wanted what is inevitably about to happen to be in Claire’s POV. So I’m disappointed but will eventually give it a try I’m sure I just don’t really read spin offs. I honestly think Claire could’ve gotten another book.
So much action! Can’t believe Sunny fit it all in one book! Great conclusion! Easy to follow along, the guys and the fmc fill in all the holes to what lead up to the Great War. I do wish there was a better explaination to what happened after the stopped the mad council. The three books always came back stopping the council and I feel that Sunny deserved a better ending to all that work up. Otherwise I’m happy I got to read the conclusion!
I have to admit, the writing has improved with each book in this series. I enjoyed this story and did tear up a couple times. That's part of my criteria of what makes a good book. That being said, readers were promised an HEA with this third story in the trilogy and while it did have a happy ending for the most part, it left quite a few questions.
I don't even really know what to say about this one. Claire, who was already verging on being a Mary Sue-type character, finds she has literally every unique type of magic affinity in this world, the cartoonish villains are trying to create a cartoonish "ultimate weapon," the end of a trilogy ends with a cliffhanger... There's a lot. I'm just gonna let the rating speak for itself.
I thoroughly enjoyed the last book in this series. The story continues on in Hollys story which is rather exciting. It was a good ending, I could have used a little more drama but still very exciting. I enjoyed this series and look forward to more from this author.
This is one of those rh series that you dive into, get hooked, and read it as fast as you can because its really good, only to finish it and wish there was more. Well, there is more! - in another characters pov. I wish we had another book in Claires’ pov, but im happy there is at least a continuation.
I hate that this is the last book for Claire and the Triad. I will say that I feel like Hart did them justice. But that ending!! I cannot wait until Holly's book to see what's in store for the world next.
Enjoyed seeing Claire get her happy ending and putting the pieces together. Some interesting character development but abrupt ending to go into a spin off and some editing needed
This was a great series. And I look forward to reading the next one as well. I think if you give it a chance. Especially since all 3 books are out now. That you will enjoy as well.
What a great conclusion to this series! It gave me all the answers I was looking for and yet still left me wanting to spend more time in the world. This is the final book in the series and it did not disappoint. Looking forward to seeing what comes next.
Well the best of the series. Finally some heat in the relationships. Although another cliff hanger at the end is clever as definitely going to read the next book to see if the whole story can come to a happy conclusion.
