The Trellis family's plunge into the world of psychic energy and love-ever-after continues in The Corners, book four of six in the Building the Circle Series.
Luke has known Talise as long as he's known of circles and energy. After years trapped in her mind, she's free to live her life. And, she's decided those terms include Luke.
Returning to Chicago brings a new family bonding opportunity - a weekly circle. As Sam and Adaline adjust to their roles, the Trellis siblings must come to terms with what they are and how it's affected their lives.
Matilda and Jake unite family and friends when Ellie, Charlie, and Eric step up to help plan an engagement party and wedding. Lucy's search for answers to save Ree takes an unexpected turn when demons from her past resurface. And, Will and Emma must find their way together as they prepare for the arrival of Darla's first grandchildren.
The Corners brings family laughter and love, unexpected romance, puppies, an upscale taco bar, and a Trellis family compound.
I was right, wasn't interested in Noah's story or another Bella scenario. It was ironic that the mess up was thanks to Sam and then the brothers having a go. It didn't look like they were getting anywhere close to the end of the book. The powers were interesting, but Noah and his stuff, Talise and Luke, not so much. Least fave so far.

Love this series, and this book makes it even better. With each new character the Circle getting bigger and better. Had to laugh so much!
So happy this book was longer than the previous one, so we could get into the heads of all the characters and not just the main ones. A lot happens in this book, which might make more sense when you have read the previous books as well. Really looking forward to the next books, as the story continues. Love your writing, Maggie Lily!
There is so much going in in these books. I cant sleep because i dont want to put it down. This family is crazy funny. I cant wait to see what else happens
This author is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. Each book builds on the next and keeps on getting better. I cannot wait til September for the next book. Love, love, love.
Another great adventure to escape into, thanks to the wonderfully imaginative mind of Maggie M. Lily! I thoroughly enjoyed this book as I have all the others in the series. I am anxiously awaiting the next installment. I never want the series to end! I love this family, all their friends and their adventures!! Keep them coming!!
I’m really enjoying this series mainly for all the characters and their romances. But the author did it again. Enough with cliffhangers! Ended the book in the middle of a conversation and that just shouldn’t happen. But still 4 stars because I like the story.
Great read loved all the surprises that went along can’t wait for the next Sunday dinner. Thanks for happy thoughts that no matter what life brings along love wins
I enjoy re-reading books, and this series is great for re-readers. This is Talise's story more than Luke's. The concept of circles & energy is more explored, and more characters are introduced. Sam and Adaline are still getting to know each other, and Sam is getting better control of his energy & premonitions. There are little gems throughout the series, small details in one book that are returned to later & embellished on, or that don't really make sense until later. So, when you re-read, you come upon the first mention and go "oh, wow!"
I love how this book ties so smoothly back to earlier books in the series. I hate having to wait for the next one to come out. I made a note of all the characters and their “names” and their spouses/significant others. I might even go back and reread this series from the beginning. The humor is a nice thick icing on the cake... it’s fun to read. (I need another series like this one.)
This was great... So much information but I loved it..I loved that Noah was featured greatly and that we learned more about everyone... Can't wait for the next book
I started reading this series on Friday night and it is Sunday now and I have been reading non-stop when I could between chores and just finished book four! I have been obsessed with finding out what comes next and each book did not disappoint! As a matter of fact they fascinated and enthralled me. I found myself thinking about the storylines, the characters, the hidden meanings, etc., as I forced myself to grocery shop and water plants, etc. 😀
The characters in this series are likeable, lovable, strong willed, amazing and interesting.... The storyline is unique, riveting and engrossing.... The twists and turns and drama never eases up and is a constant stream of exciting happenings. The family and extended family interactions are so much like a real huge family would be...... I can truly picture them all sitting at the Sunday dinner table teasing each other. Their loyalty, love, deep affection and unconditional support for each other is heartwarming. I really enjoyed the on going romances also.... and that we get to revisit all the couples in each book. I
The main premise of this series is thought provoking, intriguing and entertaining. I highly recommend this book and the whole series. I can't wait to see what happens to this family next ... It is sure to be astonishing! 😇
I am both desperate to see what happens next and his things end, and also dreading reaching the end. I am certain that this will be one of the series that I reread again and again to pick out a little clues or tidbits that I missed along the way. The Trellis family has found itself in the midst of some psychic warfare, and are woefully undertrained in their newfound abilities. Fortunately they’ve found some friends along the way.
I love this family. They are hilarious, and watching them as they each figure out what their powers mean for them and as a family is an awesome ride. I will say that this book has left me with a distaste for Luke. There, I said it. He wasn’t very likable, based on the way he treated his brother Noah. Yeah, he was a great friend and helper to T when she was bound, but the way he treated his brother was more than just being possessive over her, and more hurtful than their typical brother fighting and banter. For a family that is so closely bound, it felt cruel. Not sure he’ll find a warm spot back in my heart. Other than that, this series is such a fun intriguing read. It will definitely be on my faves list.
This was much better than the preceding book. There was humor, loving exchanges and snarkiness between the parental units, siblings and friends. It does seem like they swear an awful lot. I forgot to mention that in my review of the first book. Personally I wouldn’t use the word “fuck” when I was trying to convince someone to hire me (Mattie/Jake) but I wouldn’t be able to beat him at pool either. Whatever works...
Noah has a strong attraction to an extremely sensitive young woman from the Chicago circle that Luke helps cope by using his soothing peace mojo. It’s pretty funny how all that shakes out.
Why did none of the Trellis family except Luke know about the circle? Doesn’t it seem logical that he would have mentioned his participation at some point in the preceding ten years? Also, why do Hank and Darla participate now since, as far as I know, they don’t have any paranormal powers?
We get an inkling of what has been causing Ree’s distress but I don’t quite understand the motive behind it. It looks like we may be seeing more of his birth mother in the future, as if there aren’t enough characters to keep track of already.
I was lured into the 'Building the Circle' series by Maggie M Lily when I read the first book, 'The Call'. I knew it was a series, I did not know that I would get sucked down the rabbit hole that is the Trellis family. This is not a series where each book is its own story like the cover suggests. You have to start at book 1 and read through book 6 to get the whole story of this amazing and loving family.
'The Call' introduces the majority of the characters and hints at a larger plot-line, but mainly focuses on Matty and Jake. It was a slow burn, coworkers-to-friends-to-lovers romance, not particularly spicy and a slow build for sure. Still, I found it to be deeply entertaining and charming. I laughed at the antics of her best friends, found my heart breaking at their struggles, and loving the characters. And the best part. The series just got better from there.
While each sibling finds their HEA throughout the series, I found myself enraptured with the characters, the plot-line, and how the story unfolded. Each successive book pulled me deeper and deeper, until I was so entrenched in their family's story and struggles, in seeing them flourish and triumph, that the romance aspect of it was just another layer to the plot rather than the purpose of the book.
I would highly recommend giving 'Building the Circle' series a shot. I think you will fall in love with the Trellis family as much as I did. Happy reading! ~Kay
The Corners: A Psychic Paranormal Romance (Building the Circle Book 4)
OMG! Love ❤️💜💞💕 this book I can’t stop laughing myself crazy, my stomach actually hurts, with this wonderful series, these psychic books are completely hysterical, loving, crazy, chaotic, nail biting and flat out hysterical!
First the very first book I started reading late at night, I always say I’m gonna read a couple of pages then go to work with no sleep because I couldn’t put the books down… . I feel I am part of this crazy family's ride, and it stopped in the middle! I know come the ending of the series, I am going to be lost! I absolutely adored every book this far and am certain the next two will be just as amazing - can’t wait to read it ….
I'm upset, because I've really enjoyed the stories until now. And it's not even the fault of the book that I had to stop, when only a few chapters in! Why then? I've got memory issues thanks to lupus. I do fine in most books. But book 1 of the series started telling the story of part of a family. A family of 2 parents and 9 kids, and a cool dog named Roscoe. Book 2 brought in more of the family and some love. And here, in book 3, we've got all 11 of the family, and some spouses, some kids, and people related through the storyline. And more! Basically, it's too many people for me to keep track of anymore. Before lupus, no problem. Now? No luck. I really hope you enjoy this series! 🦋✋🏽🐺
This really helped to finally push the macro plot of this series forward and it definitely has me invested in seeing the final outcome though this was a bit rough for me. It was hard for me to get invested in the romantic plot of this book. I know now why with how the book ended but that didn’t stop be from getting annoyed with some of the scenes throughout. Outside of that, I really enjoyed the funny realization of the houses Sam had built so many years ago and I also w joyed watching all the characters learn to understand their powers and gain a type of control over them. This will definitely make for hopefully a very j retesting ending. Hoping to pick the next up soon.
Let me preface by saying that I am on the last book of the Circle series but I will refrain from giving any spoilers beyond this book. Ms. Lily you and the curve balls I am loving it keep them coming, I have just one word to describe this book NOAH! My second favorite Trellis sibling is meeting his match and I cannot stress to you how important that is for his character because omg I was waiting for this one. OMG William and Emma I'm so happy, Hennessy and Beth OMG what, Luke hmm he is an enigma I love it. This is fast becoming my second favorite book because of NOAH!
The series substance is getting fuller as the number of people involved! The plot is getting thicker and makes more sense. Although how could a family this close knit have been able to hide their "other sides" from each other this long? Oh, well, that being said, everyone rallies around each other when needed and are accepting of new comers (as long as they like lasagna!). And Tallie could use some accepting....got to say that I saw this one coming. Can't wait to see what else this family must battle.
Okay, I have now read 4 of these books in 3 days. I'm getting ready to start the 5th. This story didn't seem as intense until the end... and then, of course, another cliffhanger. You can feel the storyline building as everyone is coming into their powers and learning how to control and wield them. They still have all the teasing and snarkiness, but you can feel the suspense starting yo build.
I love this family! Lily's first few installments sucked me right into the family dynamics. Nothing really was clear plot-wise until the third book but by then i was hooked. Had to read them all... I would rate Lily's writing overall as a 2.5 or so but for her creativity in the Trellis family I'd give her a 4. Original characters, dynamic storyline (although there were lots of things not wrapped up), and great pacing. Sorry there aren't more to read.
I am so involved in this series! This family is crazy powerful and they still don't understand it all yet. I love how the couples are spending more time together and meeting the new and surprise pairings in this story.
Oh, how I love Sam! He is a hoot! Questioning everyone and I honestly laughed out loud a lot in this book. The familial conversations were some of the best! I desperately need more. Put this series on top of your TBR pile! Enjoy
Okay! So I had to wait to complete this series (6 books) before I could write my reviews, not because of anything but a driving need to read them all. I read all six books in under four days. So in true Trellis fashion I'm declaring Sam my favorite. While I loved each book and all of the characters book one was epic. I want more of Will and Hennessey and to see the behind the scenes of their HEA. Oh and Matty and friends in college would be fun too.
Now that there’s some basis and explanations in place from previous books, the paranormal aspect kicks way into high gear. It’s a pretty unique paranormal universe, and super interesting. I love how the books touch on all the main characters throughout. And the Trellis family and friends keeps growing, which is awesome.
This book will definitely make you laugh. So far Noah is definitely the favorite brother. This series sticks to telling the story about the whole family not just one at a time. If you’re not careful you can get mixed up on who you’re reading about at the time. This book is so good!
I have really enjoyed this whole series, love the family and the strength and love between each member of the family as they find their better half and begin to build their lives together. Unique paranormal, fun family dynamics, lots of characters, laughter, bad guys, and love. Enjoy. Highly recommended.
