This colorful book introduces children to 50 ordinary men and women who God gifted with extraordinary courage to accomplish incredible things.
Hannah kept a promise. Daniel remained faithful to God in difficult times. Peter repented. And Joseph of Arimathea was kind and generous. What do these and the other Bible heroes featured in this book have in common? They weren’t perfect, but they were courageous and bold, each in their own way.
Each short, easy-to-read chapter profiles a different Bible hero and shows how they exhibited bravery and overcame their own weakness and seemingly impossible challenges to achieve amazing things. This kind of epic courage can only be found when we place our faith in God.
As boys and girls read these captivating accounts, they will learn to love God more intentionally, and they will begin to believe that the Lord will equip them with courage when they need it the most.

To begin with, the beauty of this volume encourages children to pick it up. The illustrations capture children's imaginations. From there, the depth and insight Redmond provides for each of the Bible heroes goes beyond what kids memorize in Sunday School and allows children to start seeing the people of the Bible as real, actual people. This is the perfect addition to any family's library or homeschool collection.
This book was written for children but seems to have taken most of the adventure out of the stories. A huge mistake was included in the story of the interaction with Mary and Jesus. Here, they say that Mary grabbed onto Jesus and didn't want to let go. However, Jesus told Mary not to touch Him, and she obeyed Him. When you dig deeper into Mary Magdalene's story, you see how beautiful this request from Jesus was.
We love the short biographies in this book to inspire our kids. Some of them are familiar Bible heroes while some are more obscure. Each one has a stunning illustration by Katya Longhi. They're the perfect length to read one each morning when we do our morning basket time in school or right before bad when we do family devotions.
This book is written to children ages 8-12, although i enjoyed reading about these Bible heroes. One page is dedicated to each individual, so it is easy to read. i recommend this to be read along with the actual account in The Bible.
Seems like a good book, but decided not to keep its companion books. Kiddos (3,6) listened to some of these, but it didn’t generate discussion for some reason. Try again later.
