This series should never end!!!

I absolutely love this whole series!! And I voraciously read through this book and the was soo scared the closer I got to the end. What a great character Andie is and I absolutely love her real name…this book has it all, and I have loved every minute of being in this world. Even when people you connect to die… There were soo many laughs too. Can’t wait for the next book!!

This is part 1 of the final book in this series. And it is so freaking awesome! Do yourself a favor if you haven't already read The Resurrection Chronicles: purchase Demon Ember (book one) and get reading! This series is full of everything you need in a dystopian world. Zombies, hell hounds, hunky fey men who have no clue how to navigate a world with women! But oh boy do they want to learn! This is humanity collapsing and scrambling to find safety and hope for a tomorrow amid all the chaos. And the fey are the key.

This book is about Molev the leader of the fey. We fans have been patiently waiting to find out his story and M.J. Haag did not disappoint! The connection between Molev and Andie was immediate. Their characters work well with each other. Originally I worried that Molev would end up with a girl too tough (much like Roni) or too sweet (like Katie). I didn't want a FC that either drowned in his shadow or blocked him from the sun. Andie was just right. Tough enough to check him and challenge him but soft enough to let him lead as he should. As always M.J. paints a clear picture of acceptance vs prejudiced views as well as greed vs good overcoming it. Previously I liked Molev. But after this book, I LOVE Molev. Finally we get to see his true self come out. All that makes him a leader besides having the longest hair (or rather finally understanding why he has the longest hair)

The camaraderie and the buildup of the group of humans with Molev and how they become close worked so well. I fell in love with thier loyalty for eachother. While there is much turmoil going on in the book, there was the right amount of humor to keep you going without needing to take your anxiety medication. And can I just say that Roni is my new favorite character! I know part 2 marks the end of the series but man would I love to see her have her own book! She's just begging for her bit of story time.

Read this! You won't be sorry. Thank you M.J. for bring the fey out of thier hiding so we could enjoy them. I am already bouncing on my toes for the final book to see where you lead us.

This series never disappoints!
Part one of the final Fey hero—Molev—‘s story, Demon Defeat take the reader beyond the communities of Tolerance and Tenacity and fills in a new side of the world and story from when Molev left the community back in book 5, Demon Deception. While each couples’ story is largely stand-alone (Mya and Drav open the series with a trilogy, and obviously Molev and Annie have a second installment to their story upcoming), there is a larger, over-arching story involving the world, the infected, and the communities that readers of the series have become familiar with that make the story much richer when read in order.
Molev’s story has been a long time coming, but is SO worth the wait! I’m so excited to see how his story and the series will wrap up with part 2! It’ll be a difficult wait because this series is SUPER addictive and satisfying to read, with heroes that are alien to our world, but also somehow also the perfect complements to their chosen females, and heroines who are having to adjust to a new world, new dangers, and learning to live with the Fey, who would do anything to earn their affection and a sense of belonging in the communities they’ve built with the survivors.
Immensely satisfying to read, with heart-warming romance, plenty of steam and action, all set to a dystopian world that makes our world as dissonantly familiar and alien as the Fey at first seem to be to the heroines until they take the time to get to know them. I’ll be eagerly awaiting the conclusion to the series—all of which I highly recommend, including the bonus novellas—and rereading the series from the start while I do!.

I honestly loved this book, Ms.MJ Haag does it again. I'm always captivated by her world that she builds and the characters that you can't help but understand and want them to thrive, survive and prevail. Now I have to say that the fact that we get a glimpse of molev's thoughts and emotions, help us the readers finally understand his behavior throughout the books and you can't help but find that he was the right leader for the fey all along. As for our heroine, I'm so happy that she is just so different from the rest of the gang of heroines in this series. I'm trying to not give spoilers so I'm going to say I would 100% recommend this book. It's funny at times, heart stop at others and in the end loads of fun to read. From fey bod to creepy zombies with a dash of chemistry and romance, yes please!! Can't wait for act 2.

I received a free copy through Booksprout in exchange for an honest and unbiased review/opinion.

4.5 stars — Why is this series so freaking addictive?? SERIOUSLY, WHY?? God I love that. I pick it up, and I just want to keep reading. Which of course just makes it that much harder to wait (im)patiently for part two…but I will do what I must.

Andie was a super intriguing heroine! She was so closed off, a lot of which was intentional. I kind of liked that it wasn’t completely intentional…like she was just naturally a less emotive person. Sooooo not who I am, but I was still able to connect with her. And I fully understood the decision when it was intentional — to keep herself focused and without attachments because people die so easily in this new world. I appreciated that it wasn’t just Molev that was trying to get into the heart of her. It’ll be interesting to see how her journey continues to unfold, and how well she’s able to continue to grow given the world they live in. I loved how keenly observant she was — not just in how to read people, but tactically as well. She just seemed to be able to see things that others didn’t, she was incredibly smart. She was also a badass in her own right, and mostly from a sheer will standpoint.

It’s been so long since I read Cassie’s book, that I completely forgot that was when Molev left…for some reason I thought he left earlier, and I really remembered nothing. I think I should do a reread of the series…for science of course. I remember Molev being very…conflicted, and that definitely came across to a degree here too. As opposed to Andie, he carried a lot of emotions, and didn’t always have as much control over them. My heart ached every time he felt something strongly…there were a few instances in particular. I love how he’s trying to break down Andie’s barriers, though I don’t always agree with his tactics. They do seem to be working for him for the most part though!

I love the two together. There’s a bit more slow burn to this story than I was expecting, but I’m here for it. You can feel their chemistry 100%, but they’re definitely building something more. Seeing them establish trust with one another is really gratifying…especially as that trust grows to caring and more. And finally getting to see some flirting is awesome!

SOOOO much going on as far as the plot goes, and world type building. I was on the edge of my seat for a few portions. I’m DYING for the next part, to know how it’s all going to shape out! We got some answers to what’s going on in the rest of the US, but then we just get more questions regarding the infected and where that’s all going to go. It was interesting to see similar things happening for them as they were happening for the others in the rest of the series.

So yeah. Now the (im)patient waiting begins. Luckily, my faith in Ms. Haag seems to be well placed, so I’m willing to wait as long as it takes to get the ending this series deserves!

I love this world and feel devastated every time a book in the series comes to an end.

Molev has always interested me and we all wondered why he disappeared so I was thrilled to see this was out! 🤩

This part of the story is intriguing and fills a lot of holes. It rewinds and runs parallel with some of the other book's time lines but isn't redundant. It explains what's going on with the undead (sorta) gives us a close up view of the Hell Hounds, (creepy) shows what the humans are trying to do to stay alive (morons) and addresses concerns about the future.

Andie is reasonable, perceptive and relatable. The way she shuts down is how I think a lot of us deal with difficult situations and she was still enough of a "person" through the entire book for us to get close to. She wasn't so distant that it makes you apathetic. I've had that happen in books before, but Haag is a master at creating real humans in her stories. I love that no one is a carbon copy of another.

Molev is as brilliant and patient as you'd expect a couple thousand year old fae to be. He is everything Andie needs to find herself and everything we need to be pulled under the sea of pages - lost... possibly forever. 🤭

Oh!

*slight spoiler*

There was no sex in this one! I can't even tell you how happy that made me! The tension is unbelievable. (I freaking adore Roni!) And Molev and Andi actually take the time to get to know one another before becoming physical like that. I love slow burn! It's the absolute best!! 🥰😍

Despite Haag's note at the end of Demon Defeat, the dynamic personalities and gripping world found within these pages are exactly why none of us readers would care if this series went on indefinitely. Here's to hoping she takes a break, writes other stuff, then gets called back to the fae as often as we do. 🤭

Spine-tingling and breathtaking. Sealed away by magic and trapped for millennia in an underground kingdom, betrayed by their families, the fey have made a life for themselves. Cursed to never die, without wives, parents or children, the fey have completely forgotten all about their previous lives on the surface of the planet. When earthquakes caused by to0 much fracking opens their world to the surface, the fey find a brand new way of living. Unfortunately, other creatures have escaped the underground prison…and those hellhounds have signaled the end of humanity as we know it. Molev is the leader of the fey, and he wants what all the fey want: a woman of his own and a new life here on the surface of the world. The woman that he wants is Andie, but can he win her trust and love despite their differences? Can they learn to make a life together in a world where death lurks around every corner?
Excellent story, with enough breathtaking action to satisfy and plenty of humor. Melissa Haag never fails to write a great story and this is no exception to that rule. Her characters come to life, and it's easy to get pulled into the story so that you are living the adventure. Those who are already fans of Melissa Haag won't be disappointed. Those who are new to Melissa's writing will fast become fans. Try it…you'll like it.

My 1st thoughts after finishing the book were - wow, how does she keep writing even better books?

My #1 tip when your reading any of her books is do not start it right before bed, you will want to stay up all night to finish it.

Andie and Molev's story is amazing and exceeded my already high expectations. This book makes you feel: I smiled, frowned, cringed, peeked thru my hand to keep reading but not quite see it all, and laughed out loud.

When I review a book I try to find something negative to say about it as well. The only thing I can come up with is that while M.J. Haag is working on the next book I will be sitting here with it on my wishlist waiting for her to exceed whatever I dream up might happen next.

If you like books with in depth worlds, fully developed amazing characters you mostly wish you could meet from an author who never fails to amaze you, try this series. Yes series, you could read this book which does not have a cliff hanger (but is part one of 2) without but you'd miss alot about the world and how its changed in the first 9 books along with other amazing characters a few of which are mentioned, and no I wont' tell you who.

Molev has been missing for so long - since that day he told the others he had something he needed to take care of and hasn't been heard from. Little did we know he'd banded together with a group of humans that includes Andie, a woman full of sass and attitude, and a strength Molev recognizes immediately but knows could get her into trouble. The infected and hellhounds are getting smarter and more ballsy, setting traps, and behaving in ways no one expected - and they seem to have an agenda of their own. In the midst of the fight to protect the humans, and more importantly, Andie, Molev discovers he may have met his match and the one who is perfect for him. But first, they need to make sure they'll have a world worth surviving for.

I was not ready for this first part of the finale to end, but I understand the author's reasoning. There's so much information in this ending that is important for the reader since we've been following these characters from the very beginning of the series. The action is non-stop, and the plot thickens with every obstacle this group has to fight through to find a place in this dystopian world where they can thrive, not just survive. This first half of the ending to the series was so exciting, and I can barely stand the wait for the second half.

What a thrilling read that will keep you up well past bedtime. This is part one of the tenth book in the Resurrection Chronicles and if you haven’t read them before starting this, then go back and start at the beginning and you are missing out and you need to read them in order to get the true story and genius behind this author. Molev is someone who I have been so interested in sinking my teeth into, trying to find out what makes them tick, I love getting under the skin of certain characters. The camaraderie in this story is strong, I got so emotional reading the story, I don’t know why as I had read the preceding books and plan a re-read as well, before we get the second part as I loved them so much, but this one just blew me away, I honestly don’t know I was a mess, even writing this review I am stuck for words. All I can say is that if you are after a great story then pick this one up, but do the whole series as its more than worth it. You will love it as the writing is just compelling, if you start reading this you will need to keep going so don’t start it before bed, school or work!!

I really enjoyed this book up until 78% I was getting annoyed. Andie became a hypocrite to the fullest extent. Her reason for refusing to be intimate with Molev was because the needed to stay focused on creating a vaccine, ridding the world of infected, and riffing the world of hounds. But before that a fellow teammate was encouraged to not let those things stop her from being with someone she likes.
Molev is one guy. Not a doctor nor can he rid the world of the dead by himself. Maybe Molev should find someone else to love and let her be lonely and regretful.
To clarify my issue was not them being intimate it’s her dumb ass reasons. Molev out there getting bit and scratched and all he wants to love her mentally, emotionally, and physically. He want to give 100% she just want to give 50%.
I do love that she stood firm on not being placed in a glass box. She is able to carry her own weight.

I've loved every book in this series, but for some reason, this one just didn't wow me like they usually do. I think I had a harder time connecting with the characters in this one. They weren't quite as three-dimensional to me as the previous books. It just felt like it was lacking the usual intensity, and while all the right words were on the page, the passion behind them didn't feel like it was there.

I did enjoy the interactions between Andie and Molev, even though I wanted to smack her a few times. The secondary characters I either loved or hated. There was no inbetween. I'm curious to see what happens next, so I'll be picking up the next book in the series. This one just didn't wow me like the past stories have. I didn't have the same connection as I typically do with the characters in this series, but it was still a good story.

Sooooo much happening in this book! And I LOVED it! I really enjoyed the military angle as it showed a different perspective of the world than the lens we are used to watching through (ie from the POV of the people within Tolerance).

I also enjoyed getting to know some new characters - especially Roni, she was hilarious and had some great one liners.
The chemistry was super sexy and slow burn … and I’m really looking forward to seeing how it all unfolds for them in Part 2.

I also thought the plot was well thought out and nothing felt rushed or dragged out. It felt like the perfect pace and fit with the characters and events of the book.
Also keen to see how Haag addresses the hounds, the infected, and how they’re evolving … intriguing to say the least!!
Super excited for Part 2!

Another amazing book in the Resurrection Chronicles, “Demon Defeat” by M.J. Haag, tells the reader where Molev has been when he left his brothers to follow a group of humans. As Molev follows and later joins up with a military team, we learn how deep Molev is as a fey and how much he will give to help save the world. It was very fascinating to read how the military in the story is reacting to the infected and the hounds. And especially how they react to Molev. With Andie’s help in closing the gap between Molev and the human’s military personnel, they start a slow building relationship. Molev’s story is so great that, author M.J. Haag has divided it into two parts. I can’t wait to read part two.

what a ride.

I love this series, but I could not start this until last book was published. I knew I would be on edge until next one to find out what happens. The book was great! Loves the characters! The world is falling apart and zombies are changing. Andie and her team are on mission to help find way to combat the plague. Meeting Molev, one of the fae, who decides to follow and then help them. Trust doesn’t come easy. The book just flows so smoothly. Makes you want more, interacting between MC and FC. There the team end up protecting Molev from the military. The so much in this book. Now I can read the second part

Loved this side of the story

So, a bit of a spoiler, but one you'll recognize within the first chapter... the raider woman that Molev ran off to find isn't a raider but with the U.S. military. This gave us the POV from the other side of this apocalypse. Instead, everything has a purpose and a higher connection than just surviving.

Andie, who seems similar to Mya, and key members of her team quickly become fan favorites. This story feels more dangerous as they only have one fey, albeit the strongest, biggest leader fey there is, to get them through the evolution of the infected and hellhounds. Because of so much going on this is a slow-burn but things are certainly heating up for Part II and I'm anxious to see what level of danger and discovery is in store for the Rez world.

I really like this series. The story line is a winner for me and keeps me glued to my kindle. Sadly while I think the H(Molev) is good male character I would't mind a bit if one of the infected bit the h(Andie) . She gets on my nerves with her whole attitude towards the H and the other characters in their small circle. I can always keep my fingers crossed in the second book we either get a much improved h or a completely new one which would be fine with me. I do recommend this series but the h in this one is my least favorite in this series.

Another great demon story! I have loved them all so far ,and like all of us who have read the books before this one, we all have been waiting for Molev's story.
The build-up of his and Andies story is great, and I cant wait for part #11 to know what happens next. The infected and hounds are evolving and humanity scrambling to keep up.
I was so sorry to have finished the book so quickly, I loved it!

It’s everything I needed and more.

Absolutely one of the best Melissa has written, and truly all her books are some fantastic stories. Molev hit me squarely in all my feels and I’m so glad that his story is getting the full detail it deserves. He shows his intelligence, compassion, strength, adaptability, and so much more. His and Andie’s story is perfect. Part two cannot come soon enough.

Finally!

I have read the entire series and didn't realize how much I missed reading about characters outside of Whitman. This book was ad good as reading the original novels. It was adventurous instead of just sexually motivated. The fey was intelligent and wasn't only motivated by the affections of a woman. Thanks for bringing it back to post-apocalyptic adventures and romance!

So the first 30% was very slow. The main characters don’t interact during that part and I am inpatient and wanted to get on with it. In romance terms, the other 70% could probably be considered slow burn. But this one definitely feels less like a romance. I love this series so I’m happy with anything within this world. I’m dying for the second half though.

Love this series

I loved this book it is the one I was waiting for and the connection between these two is amazing but does anyone else feel we were cut short in the story. Like it ended very abruptly and none of the other did this.

Is there more to co.e from these two because the next book is not a continuation of their story.

This is the book I have been waiting for. Molev is the Mack daddy of all the fey, and I know that he will handle things in the shitstorm they are caught up in. The way he just walked off and left his brothers was worrisome, but ‘when you know, you know’. I’m going to be honest and say…that I do not like Andie. She’s a frigid robot, who is undeserving of someone as spectacular as Molev.
