Stolen Legacy #2

Entangled Essence

Rate this book
Our flighty fae captor, Taneisha, lost the incubus Caden’s legacy to a thief in the night. Now, instead of the game she had planned for us to win back Caden’s legacy, we have to climb a mountain and go fist to feather against an immortal demonic bird-man with a chip on his shoulder.

That’s assuming we don’t run across trouble along the way. Really, what could go wrong on a leisurely stroll up the side of a mountain in the Netherworld? Based on my track record over the last two days and my history of botching most magic I attempt, I’m not feeling all that lucky.

Reeling from the temporary loss of Emrys, the fragile bonds between all of us are shaken. Caden keeps butting heads with the panther shifter, Marcos, and it’s all Liam, Franc, and I can do to keep the peace.

An ongoing distraction from the quest are the marks on my shoulders, marks the posse keeps telling me are mating marks. Specifically, their mating marks. But I assume the marks are just another fae trick. But what if it’s not a trick? Mages like me don’t mate by fate. Sure, we enjoyed one hell of a steamy liaison during the first quest. Does whatever happens in faery, stay in faery?

Since that night, the friction between us has seemed to have only ratcheted up higher. Now I’m finding it difficult to keep things light as the guys jockey for my attention. At least my magic is behaving better, although I worry what’s changed.

Despite facing cliffs, rivers, and dangerous creatures on our journey into hell, what worries me the most is knowing Emrys’ life is on the line. This isn’t just a game. If we don’t follow the rules or fail to complete our quest, the demi-god dies, and that’s a fate none of us are willing to bear.

This is book two of six in the Stolen Legacy series. This is an action adventure why choose steamy romance where the female main character has more than one love interest. Includes m/m.

DNF @85% p120/142 Chapter 11(Caden)
So, I’ve liked the series so far.
The books are pretty short, less than 200 pages(for the first two books at least, not sure about the rest of them), there’s smut already, and there’s plenty of action and adventure to be interesting.

I’m just boooored.🫣

I don’t know exactly why. I’m gonna just call it a continuation of a mini slump I’ve been feeling for a while.
I’m at the part of the year where all the things I’m really looking forward to reading just aren’t out yet and everything else is just not hitting the spot.

Entangled Essence reminds me of why I always hated watching TV and that serial novels are the worst. And yet, I couldn’t stop myself from snagging an ARC the first chance I got because I needed to know more about Sera and the Supernova of Hotness Posse (The word Posse will never not make me giggle). The first installment ended as they embark on Caden’s challenge to recover his legacy little bit of information we learn from him and the Mating Marks sets us up for the best kind of dramatic irony (I just loooove dramatic irony).

While the first installment was all flirty fun and dirty sex, this one dives deeper into the characters, especially Franc and Caden who took a backseat before. There’s a more serious tone to the book but it’s what we can expect as they hike through literal Hell. While I love the character development all around and the continued chaos of Sera's magic, it left me with so many questions about the mating marks and the relationship between Sera and the men. Questions I’m sure will be answered in the coming installments but as I’ve mentioned, I’m obnoxiously impatient. An impatience that is made even worse by the ending of the installment and Emrys’ return to the group. So I guess now I’ll just be over here waiting for the next one with the patience of a toddler in the ticket line at Disney World.

The ARC was free but the opinions are all my own.

I received an arc of this, and I'm so grateful I did. Usually I don't read RH books, mostly because it gets a little confusing remembering so many characters names. But I absolutely love this series, Caden the Incubus is my favourite. I love how complicated he is, he's fighting an inner battle as much as he is enduring these games set by the tricky fae. The thing I enjoyed most about this book, is that it switches between each of the 6 characters perspectives. You get to experience the story through their eyes, and all of the characters are extremely interesting. There's much more to them that what's on the surface, which is starting to show a little bit over time. The storyline is fun and exciting, having ticked off one of the fae who lures them into her personal trap. Now they must abide by her rules and play her games, all whilst trying to survive and get back what was taken. Each book is based on retrieving 1 of the characters personal items and ends on a lead up to the next book, of course waiting for the next one is agony. I will say I definitely intend to add this book to my collection, RH aside, this is an entertaining read that i enjoyed more than I was expecting.

Surviving the Quest . . .

The action is ramping up as the group is sent out on another quest, climbing a mountain to confront an immortal demonic bird-man, while Emry Tedros' life is in jeopardy if they fail. Sera is being told by the guys that the strange marks on her are their mating marks, but she doesn’t believe them. She thinks it’s another Fae trick because that is not how mages choose their mate.

I am really enjoying the characters in the story line. Drama, secrets, danger, all draw the reader in and keep the tension palpable. Grab your copy and see if they succeed with their quest as they move on to the next ordeal.

This is the first novel I have read by Candice Bundy and I picked up the second book in the Stolen Legacy Series. I was somewhat lost and I would highly recommend reading the books in order. The action is enticing and it seems there are a lot of inter fighting in the group. They are sent on a quest and they must succeed if they don’t Emry Tedros’ life is in jeopardy. The interrelationships of the group are very interesting and the author has drawn an interesting paradigm. It appears that Sera may have been tricked into a mating ritual – but has she? Or is it a Fae trick? I really enjoy the story line and the characters are well developed. I can’t wait to get the next book to see if the succeed and what their next ordeal might be. I gave this honest, voluntary review after being given a free copy of the novel.

This is the second installment of this series of adventures set up for the posse by a vindictive fae seeking revenge for slights from high school. Helping the supernatural posse is the mage Sera, who has dubbed them the Supernova of Hotness and now somehow has five mating marks on her shoulders - one for each hottie. The shifters accept it immediately, but demi-gods, an incubus and Sera herself aren’t so quick to believe. For now, they just have to survive a trip to the Netherworld. I received an advance copy of this book and voluntarily left a review.

I haven’t figured Tink out yet. Is she really this vindictive or is there more to it only time will tell. Well they were on another harrowing quest where they learn everything is not as it seems. Maybe Caden should have trusted Marco with the truth. Plus we learn something about Caden that will surely have dire consequences.

Entangled Essence is the second book in a passionate series with enough twist and turns that you will be lost in the pages and left on the edge of your seat. This is not a book you will want to stop once you start.

He stole WHAT from WHOM?!?!?!

Want to go on an adventure?! You have to read this series! Book 1 was good, it totally hooked its teeth in me and wouldn't let go. Book 2 was even BETTER!! Who doesn't love a character twist and when good overcomes evil?!?! My favorite thing about this series is it checks a whole bunch of boxes without fitting into a single one! Lol

I honestly don’t know why I continued this series. I should have stopped after the first book. Again this author couldn’t even keep track of what character was what. Constantly Switching up eye colors. Plus Marcos who came off as a sweet guy in the last book is an absolute ass in this. Just overall I did not like the characters. There was sex with no connection. And the plot still doesn’t make sense with the fairy trying to kill them and nobody trying to stop her. The main FMC says the guys earned the conflict and I don’t quite understand how they earned their conflict. It sounds to me like they were jackasses in school. Kind of like high school jocks who weren’t the nicest but they never tried to kill Tink. Which is exactly what she’s trying to do so how do they deserve this? I’m just done with the series

Fun and quick

I like this series causes it’s a fun and quick read. I pick it up when I need to get back into reading or I can’t handle whatever my current read is. It always does the trick. It has multi POV, some spice, characters who love to throw verbal jabs at each other, and adventure.

The story picks up in the second installment of this series, with a bit more time for character development and more action. Spoiler, if you haven't finished book 1 with tiny spoilers for this book:

Steamy but hellish

They went to literal hell and back for Caden to find his legacy but now Em is in his own hell. A maze and a mate mark to figure out, and there's not telling if anyone else will come out scared by the fae's game. But at least they're finding a little time for some steamy fun, right!?

I devoured that paranormal reverse harem so fast and now I can’t wait for the last book of the series! I love Sera and the posse. Loved how the characters evolved and how the world is presented through each quest. This is my favorite book so far! My heart broke for the guys, including Em, and I loved how they were able to talk and reconnect. Up to the next one.

Very entertaining.

I quite enjoyed this second book in the Stolen Legacy series, and I must say that I'm looking forward to reading the third book in this enjoyable and sexy romp.

The Far doesn't seem to care if the posse live or die while undertaking the quests. However, I think Sera may turn out to be their saving grace, and also their secret weapon.

I'll drop the series here. Made up my mind. This author just doesn't do it for me. Couldn't connect with the characters, their behaviour and quirks were all over the place. There was no spark between them and there were quite a few errors again.

This was fun to read.

I liked the FMC. She goes with the flow without being callous. If they all end up in love in a happy ending, I don’t think I’ll be asking myself why.
