The war between the Dark Army and the Magical Kingdom of Klyrode grinds to a stalemate, and both sides look to Flio—the enigmatic adventurer from another world—for salvation. Flio, however, just wants peace and a quiet life with his wife! Can Flio’s companions bring a stop to all the fighting? Why won’t these armies just chill? And wait, who is this mysterious masked man?!
The story itself is the most 4/10 going, the writing style makes it hard to stay invested.
There are dozens of light novels that tell a similar story and most of them do it the same or better, it took me months to slog through the first 2 volumes (I bought the first 3 together) and I've just accepted that I've wasted money on the third and deleted it from my library.
So the author makes it clear at the ending of the book that the story and the web story are starting to diverge. There is also a manga and a TV show which as of the time of this review my understanding is only one season has been made. There are definitely different since between the show and this light novel. I can't speak towards the manga though. I'm enjoying the story because it's light and fluffy for lack of a better descriptor.
This is a slice of life series with a great story behind it. This story is set so that it can conclude in a final book or run on in to many. I am looking forward to the next one and will pre-order all of the future books.
You have your OP (over-powered) stories, your harsh adversity so-called dark hero stories, and your slice of life . Then... you have all three in this story. Very fun, it is.
This does make for a really good side ride for when you are waiting for another series or want a comedy fantasy. Also, the pacing for the side character development is pretty good and not like other stories where they constantly throw "will they or won't they" at you.
