Math and Bethany’s talks were some 16-year-old-silliness. I mean, the sex was nice, and there was a little too much of it, but they were just too young. Bethany was 22 and since dragons live a long time he is 40-something but looks and acts like he’s 22 also (both going on 16 or 17).
It turned out to be not-so-bad. I did like Math and Bethany and when the next book comes out I hope the MC’s are a more grown up and don’t sound like teens.
I liked Bethany’s magic a lot and Math’s gold dragon. They worked together while getting a casino ready for an opening and Math trying to find an embezzler working at the casino.
It started out kinda’ boring but it did pick up after 25%, so that was good.
Oh, and YAY, this was not written in the first person.

I'll be honest, paranormal/shifter novels haven't necessarily been my "go-to" genre; this book will change that! I laughed so hard I cried. I didn't want to put the book down; it really was that enjoyable. The perfect blend of romance, humor, drama, and epic dragon sex!
Looking forward to book 2; watching a cute little witch take down a big, bad alpha dragon is going to be so much fun!

This book was an enjoyable, light read and I finished it quickly. I will probably read some of the others in the series.
The reason I gave it a four star instead of five is that it was a pretty predictable romance.

This was cute (maybe even a bit too cute with the animals doing the cleaning -- just like in the Cinderella animated movie). This was a great palate cleanser for me after reading a very dark book.

I bought this book because it was written by Blair Babylon, and I've enjoyed many of her books. I knew this one would be different from her usual style, but thought I would try it, since I usually like dragon shifter romances. It is so different, though, that I didn't recognize Blair's writing style at all -- but that may have been her intention. The book is entertaining, but I did have a few issues with it. It gets 3 stars from me.
My main issue with this story is the confusing dragon shifter society that Math is from. We were given bits and pieces of their world, which was very different from other dragon shifter books -- but not enough to really understand Math's behavior. I'm assuming more information will be provided in the other books in the series.
Math was mostly likable, but was a bit difficult to understand at times -- especially his attitude toward relationships. He just dismissed the possibility that he could ever actually fall in love with anyone, but didn't seem to have any painful past to cause him to feel that way. I get that his parents never told him how dragon mating worked, but that was no reason to act like he did. It also bothered me that he had been such a terrible man-wh*** for so long, but didn't understand why that bothered Bethany.
I did like Bethany, and thought her method of organizing and cleaning was adorable. It was also cute how she couldn't always control her witch spells, and they sometimes went wrong. I liked her relationship with her best friends, too. At first, I had trouble believing that Math and Bethany were right for each other, but they did find their HEA.
I am glad this book didn't include any BDSM. Most of Blair's books have at least a little light BDSM, and some have a lot. I know that some readers really love that, but I think it is overdone. Ever since Fifty Shades of Grey, most romance authors seem to think they have to include BDSM -- but I prefer books without it.
My rating system is below.
1 star -- Hated it, or did not finish. I usually only give this rating if some of the content is truly objectionable to me, like if one of the main characters does something really awful, and gets away with it.
2 stars -- Didn't like it. This rating usually means that I thought the writing wasn't very good, the editing was terrible, I didn't like the characters, or it had other major flaws.
3 stars -- I liked it, but had some minor issues with it. This rating means that there were minor editing issues, the story needed more character development, it was just too unrealistic, or had some other fairly minor issue. The majority of books I read get this rating – I do not consider it a bad rating.
4 stars -- I liked it a lot. This is a high rating for me, and I rarely give a higher one.
5 stars -- I loved it, and will probably read it again. Very few books are good enough to get this rating from me. The ones that do are usually classics.

FANTASTIC shifter romance

Do you ever look at how far you are in a book, and sigh because you're only halfway, and you know you've still got to get through the drama, and you just want the thing to be over? THAT IS NOT THIS BOOK! At halfway, I felt sad (yes sad!) because it was already halfway and I didn't want it to be so near to being done. At the end, I again didn't want it to be done. I want to go on the honeymoon with them because these two are so dang cute! I love a book that makes me laugh.
Math is sent by Dragons Den Inc. to get the casino ready for the angel investors coming in 4 weeks, and to figure out the finances because it looks like there's a thief. Math hires Bethany to use her magic to clean up the disaster. She's a home and hearth witch who struggles keeping her spells under control.
Character development in a shifter novel, to me, isn't as paramount as creating a consistent magical world. This story does that. If you've read any of my reviews, you know character development is pretty important to me, and we do get some here. Bethany and her friends keep referencing past magical disasters, which gives us glimpses into her character and their friendship. She also has a heart-to-heart with meerkats that is endearing. Math blows up at King Llewellyn while buying gifts, and he's so cute when he babbles to Bethany. The plot revolves around getting the casino ready and their falling in love. The setting is Vegas, and all we get is hot, some sand, and tourists on the Strip.
All in all, I love this story and I'm off to buy #2!

Wow. So Unexpectedly Cute But With Enough Steam To Keep It Real!!🔥😉😍🌹
Dragon Shifters = Hot 🔥 We all know that. What I wasn't expecting was how human Mathonwy Draco (Math for short) would be too!! 💙 I loved him, his linear thinking, his control & expectations for others to be equally as honest & essentially kind as he is. Plus his lack of knowledge in certain areas in so darn endearing it tugged on my heart strings - hard!!😍
Bethany Aura is a Home & Hearth Witch. Admittedly she's not a very good one 😞 No one seems to know why but she, along with her two best friends, seem to have broken magic!!😳 Their conjuring's, potions & spells, more often than not, go awry. They've tried everything to fix it but they couldn't even find 'Familiars' to help stabilize their magic 😕🙈
Math, sent by his King, arrives in Las Vegas to find out exactly what is going on with Dragon's Den Inc latest project, a new Casino. He arrives to a shambles. The Hotel is nearly complete but it's a total disaster zone inside & their stunning fountain outside? It smells like a toxic waste dump😱💥 That's without even considering what's going on with the Accounts & as the Chief Financial Officer he's bound & determined to get it all straightened out ... In 4 weeks 😳🙈 He has the Angel 😇 Investors arriving to check on progress then, so it MUST be on track!!!👍
Enter the magically broken Home & Hearth Witch 🙏😆 In sparkly purple boots & a no nonsense attitude Bethany manages to pull off some conjuring spells that convince Math to go over the Human Resources Manager's head & hires Bethany on the spot!! His Dragon is very happy with that & really likes her boots 😁✨
This is a wonderful, mostly drama free, cute and steamy PnR read by Poppy Wolfe! It is 100% escapism into a wonderful new world filled with characters I can't wait to get to know better!!😍
I tried to open this book without any preconceptions because I wanted to give 'Poppy Wolfe' a fair & honest chance in what is probably my favourite genre of all - Paranormal!💖 I'm a huge fan of this Authors alter ego & I have to say that this book's cute & lightness factor was .... This is a wonderful, mostly drama free, cute and steamy PnR read by Poppy Wolfe! It is 100% escapism into a wonderful new world filled with characters I can't wait to get to know better!!😍
I tried to open this book without any preconceptions because I wanted to give 'Poppy Wolfe' a fair & honest chance in what is probably my favourite genre of all - Paranormal!💖 I'm a huge fan of this Authors alter ego & I have to say that this book's cute & lightness factor was .... Unexpected, in the Best of ways!😊 The steam, Oh I'm SO glad that crossed over with her😉🔥(Heh, get over it you'll love it too & you know it 😉😂)

Dragons and Magic is overflowing with so much depth and emotion that I don’t mind one bit that it is shorter than the usual books I read. These types of stories are what make my heart sing and come to life after crawling out from underneath emotion and soul heavy books. I want to sing from the rooftops just how marvelous and entertaining and brilliant this book truly is! If this the start of a series, it is going to blow your mind and have your heart singing your favorite song for a very long time to come.
Math isn’t looking for any changes in his life. It is perfect just the way it is. No emotional entanglements or unwanted obligations heading his way. When an unexpected meeting requested by the Dragon King and Queen tils his well-oiled world on its tail, he know something is coming. When he least expects it, a witch named Bethany comes waltzing into his life cleaning up and organizing more than he ever dreamed possible. All she wants is a job to keep her head above water and hopefully improve her temperamental magic. Can an unreliable witch and a lonely dragon show each other the vital part of their life that is missing? Will either believe what Fate shows them is right in front of their eyes?
These two characters warmed my heart and allowed me to enjoy every aspect of this story in such rich detail. They were very independent and yet then couldn’t fight against what their heart truly wanted. They were both funny, intelligent, and kind which added such wonderful depth to their already amazing characters. What a crazy, beautiful, and spectacular story that brought such joy and happiness to my heavy heart! I can’t wait to find out what happens next!

A bit different for me but I liked it.
I absolutely love books by Blair Babylon and have been a fan for a long time. When given the chance to read an advance copy of this new book, written by her using a new pen name, I had to say yes. I have to admit that a story about witches and dragon shifters isn't normally my cup of tea but it's Blair!
I also have to confess that I wasn't sure about this story when I first started reading it. The Prologue had so many different names and terms coming at me that it was a bit overwhelming. The next few chapters convinced me not to give up and I'm so glad that I kept reading. The story ended up being a very charming and sexy story.

Mathonwy (Math) Draco is a "numbers guy" and too young to even consider finding a mate. He's been sent to Las Vegas to get the new Dragon's Den, Inc.'s casino ready to be viewed by a group of investors, and to find out what is really going on out there with the finances.
What he finds when he gets there is a partially completed casino that is truly a mess, and finances that are in even worse shape.
He hires a young witch named Bethany to help clean up the mess, without the knowledge that she really isn't experienced in the field, but instead, has occasional issues with getting her spells to do what they should.
The remainder of Matt and Bethany's story is spent following them through what it takes to get the casino cleaned up and ready for inspection, as well as their mishaps, and them finding out that they are truly meant to be together.
The story is fun-filled, sexy and leaves you wanting to see how they do together in the future.

He thrives as CFO of Dragon Den Inc, busy with committees and obligations he doesn't have time for a relationship. When the Dragon King sends him to Las Vegas to find what is going wrong with the latest casino, he had no idea what chaos he was walking in to. Bethany's magic has a habit of going wrong at the worst time, no matter how much she works on it. Math hires Bethany to clean up the disaster that the casino has become before the Angel investors show up. Quickly though Math discovers he wants Bethany for more than just cleaning incantations. I liked the chemistry between these two, their relationship is quick but so adorable. I absolutely loved the "creatures" that Bethany summoned, it was a quirky take on the magic. There was some interesting world-building in this story. Since it's the first book there are still some areas that will need to be developed in the future books, but there was a decent amount of world-building explanation without it being constant info dump.
There is a little bit of a lead into the next book at the end of this one, and it has me really excited to continue the story. It'll be interesting to see what trouble the next couple can get into (though topping some of Bethany's miss-spells will be hard!).

Dragons & Magic is book one in a trilogy about a trio of long time friends who also happen to be dragon shifters working for a company that oversees business developments including many casinos, hence the setting of the Dragon's Den Casino.
Mathonwy, or Math, is both a duke and a well known and regarded socialite amongst the dragons, though he is young for one, and is given a new investment to oversee funding for. He walks into the casino to find an absolute nightmare in every corner. Not the paranormal type, just good old fashioned business opening mayhem: construction chaos, misappropriation of funds, and exceptionally poor management. To fix the chaos and mess, he hires a home and hearth witch to clean the place up. And here we meet Bethany, our somewhat hazardous, but absolutely adorable heroine. She manages to nab the job despite her problematic spell casting and proceeds to help Math get the place ready.
Along the way, the two get closer and eventually fall in love (this is a romance, you can't be shocked) though Math is the last one to realize this and has to be told he's succumbing to a mating fever inherent to dragons. That was quite amusing. For me, not for him.
The story is fun and cute, with very little real drama. There are lots of adorable rainbow colored critter apparitions, some steamy fun, a few friends to help out, a bit of sea dragon shenanigans, and some wonderful romance and adorable people who have to figure out they're in love. There is also a hinted at overarching storyline and the next book will feature one of Math's friends and one of Bethany's friends as they continue to bring the casino to life. If you need an easy and fun read that's low on dramatics, this is a good choice.

What's a dragon to do when he meets his mate but refuses to admit it? That's Mathownwy Draco's problem in this fun paranormal romance. Math understands in theory that at some point he will meet his fated mate, but when he meets Bethany Aura, a sometimes hapless witch who is hired to help clean up his company's disastrous casino under construction in Vegas, he just thinks she's adorable and sweet. He's otherwise oblivious to his growing need to be around her, to touch her, to give her sparkly gifts, and to his inner dragon's way of perking up every time she walks into the room. Meanwhile, Bethany thinks her new dragon shifter boss is gorgeous and she definitely wouldn't mind having some of that, but mates? no way! She's too young to settle down permanently and is busy just trying to wrestle her recalcitrant magic into place and prove that she can actually function as a witch without half her spells going haywire.
I had fun reading this effervescent romance. I love dragon shifters and happily there were plenty of dragon shifter characteristics on display here, although Math was always respectful and caring of Bethany. I'm looking forward to reading the other books in this fun series.

OmiGosh !! This was a fantastic introduction into another of BLAIR BABYLON 's wonderful worlds !!
Math so many things ....a Duke , a financial wizz - kid , and a ginormous Dragon shifter ! He has been sent by his King to look into a La s Vegas property owned by the Dragons Den . A casino that is supposed to open ON TIME , but is in jeopardy of doing so . Once there , Math realizes he needs monumental magical help !
Bethany is a witch -sort of . Her and her two friends didn't go to any structured school , but that doesn't make them Less than......sometimes their magic is fine . Sometimes NOT so fine . Nevertheless, they must get out into the world and get on with it !
So Bethany goes looking for a job , and low and behold , she gets hired ! By the CFO Math. Who only knows that he needs someone NOW !!!
What follows is a cute and witty book of endurance, faith and hope , all mingled and wrapped in longing and love . And magic , of course !!! I found the references to our some favorite characters from her last series to be hilarious and I am Still Smiling !!!!
Can't wait for More !!!

Let's get the criticism out of the way first, shall we? OK. Here goes. (deep breath) I'm not a big fan of the cover. There. I said it.
Now that's out of the way - what do I think about the book? In short - I LOVED IT!
This has all the storytelling flair that I have come to expect and crave from this author, but presented in a different package. This is fun, spicy and just a thoroughly enjoyable read. I love the idea of these three delicate witches matched against the big bad dragon shifters. But please don't think this is all just alpha male shifter dominance - there is an unexpected softly romantic element which grounds the story somehow, despite the subject matter.
There are also echoes (for me) of of the Runaway Billionaires in as much as the relationship between the three male protagonists goes, and that feeling of familiarity also made it easier to make a connection to these characters and this story.
I look forward to reading more. Much more.

So paranormal is my favourite genre and I love the authors other books, so when I got to hear that she had a paranormal alter ego, I clapped my hands with glee.
Now I had a hard time trying to pigeon hole this book, its sexy, and humourous and dives into a fantasy world where Dragons have corporate companies and Angels are investors... I mean its hard to explain without giving too much away and I hate writing spoiler reviews.
So here goes... What I loved...
The freshness of the slant on shifters and witches and the supernatural in the regular world we know.
I loved how Bethany wasn't quite all together she reminded me of Mary Poppins in one way, with her helpers... I really love how the author creates a novel way for her to write her spells... Her glitches were also highlights of the book, I laughed so much reading this book.
Our Male lead Math is so scrummy and hot but a bit of a nerd as well. With his spread sheets and lack of dragon mating knowledge .
The author has shown her experience with pacing, the right amount of sauciness and hilarious moments to keep you reading well into the night. I can't wait for book 2.
Poppy will be on my watch list.

I have read many books by Ms. Babylon, and loved every one, but this is the first book I've read by her writing as Ms. Wolfe. I had a hard time getting into the prologue and the first chapter. It felt a little slow to start and some of the names were hard to figure out how to pronounce. I felt my reading was choppy. However, loving so many of Ms. Babylon's books, I wanted to keep going. The second and third chapters picked up and, after that, I couldn't put it down. Once Bethany and Mathonwy "Math" met, sparks flew (literally and figuratively), chemistry was flowing, and laughs were abound. As a high school health teacher, I couldn't help but chuckle at the "sex ed lesson" Math got from the King. I am really glad I kept reading because this turned out to be a fantastic story that I didn’t want to end. I can't wait to read book two and see what happens with the next couple. I also hope we get to see more of Bethany and Math.

Blair Babylon writes as Poppy Wolf and introduces us to her paranormal world of shifters, witches, and other supernaturals. It's different from her Billionaires in Disguise and Rockstars in Disguise, but the writing is just as evocative and effortlessly pulls the reader into the story. Math and Bethany are a well-matched couple, neither looking for forever, but both willing to grasp it when it arrives, after a bit of denial. Descriptions of emotions, in particular, are so well done, they are a strong reminder of what makes this author so good. The depictions of physical sensations, especially those experienced by Math when goes into the mating frenzy, are visceral and heart-wrenching. I felt what he was feeling as the fever burned him from the inside out. I loved this book and these characters and I'm looking forward to reading more in this series.

I have read all different types of Dragon shifting books. The mating aspect is on par with how I envision mating with a dragon shifter to be. Math is not only a Dragon shifter, but a Duke, hired by his Dragon Clan's king and queen to work the investment books at their casino in Vegas. Bethany is a sub-par witch who is hired to clean up the disaster.
Lighthearted, sweet read, but moments of hot and steamy. The author did a wonderful job of designing an entire world, characters, beliefs, and reasonings. The basis for book 2 and 3 is also apparent , three male Dragon shifters and three witches, all of which have different powers.
Mating, Frenzy, Fevers... Heated. Lots of stumbling words during their nervous moments. It read adult romance during some parts, erotic during other points, and YA in-between. Kind of a hodgepodge mashup..

I love this authors stories and this one well it's Paranormal, and it has Dragons so even better.
Mathonwy, doesn't want a mate, he doesn't believe in fated mates and all that other stuff he has been told.
Bethany is a witch who hasn't quite got her spells under control. She needs a job and finds herself at a Casino.
The Casino is in an uproar, it desperately needs help.
Math sees Bethany and hires her immediately all the while knowing he wants more than what he hires her for...
Funny, and super sexy story. I enjoyed it...

A Review of Dragons & Magic - Dragon’s Den Casino #1 by Poppy Wolfe and Blair Babylon
Math and Bethany - 5 Stars
This is the first book by this author's new pen name. I have loved everything else she has ever written, so I was excited to see what she would do in the paranormal world. I LOVED these characters and the fact that they have their own version of social media to match ours ... Dragonbook - their form of Facebook; Twitwyrm - their form of Twitter; Instadrake - their form of Instagram; and WitchChat - their form of Snapchat. I got a huge laugh from that. Can hardly wait to see what she comes up with next.

The magic of a new series!
What a fun read and a fresh new take on the shifter world in PNR! Dragons and Magic introduces us to a new series by Blair Babylon. I’m a fan of the author’s work, and I’ve read many of her other books over the last few years. This is quite a bit different from her other series, but I thought she did a truly fantastic job of putting her own spin on the shifter culture. Blair does an excellent job of character development in all of her books; in this particular story I found them to be realistic - personality and internal dialogue-wise (since of course, this is a PNR), funny, and a little bit quirky!
A brief overview (I hate spoilers in reviews!): Set in the modern world, we find out that shifters and other paranormals are well integrated into “normal” society – although normals don’t know it! Mathonwy (Math) Draco is a dragon shifter. Still quite young by dragon standards, he’s nevertheless smart, driven, and popular – a leader among his clan. He’s all business, and as such is tasked by his king to take care of a multitude of problems with a new hotel investment the clan is opening in Las Vegas.
Enter our heroine, Bethany. She’s a witch who’s magic SOMETIMES surprises her by going right. Her specialty is household magic, and she’s just what the dragon ordered! Math and Bethany spend time getting acquainted, fixing the problems at the hotel, and figuring out who they are and what they can be to each other.
I found Math and Bethany’s story engaging from the first page – Blair never disappoints! The story is easy to follow and fun to read, with lighthearted & witty banter among the characters and some laugh-out-loud moments scattered throughout. We are left with an excellent set up for the next book in the series, which I can’t wait to check it out.

This was a cute read. I enjoyed it for what it was, a romantic fantasy. Mathonwy, Duke Draco, is set to oversee the building of the Dragon's Den casino in Las Vegas and find out who is embezzling from the casino during the renovations. Bethany Aura is hired by the casino to clean things up with her magic, which, by the way, has been on the frits since she was born. They navigate a friendship that changes things about both of them, and the magic and mayhem that follow is humorous.
I enjoyed this story. It was a bit off the beaten path for the author, but it was cute and worth an afternoon read. Of course, it took me a little longer because of my work schedule, but it is definitely an easy read with a few sweet surprises.
