Everything is Always Changing

Rate this book
“Over the past two years, I’ve gone from bedbound, to housebound, to slowly venturing into the outside world. Writing down my innermost thoughts throughout each stage – holding nothing back – this book will take you on the journey with me, showcasing the challenges and joy along the way.

A continuation of growth and healing, I hope these words can remind you that life is neither light or dark but a tentative mixture of both. And I hope that by being open and vulnerable, you can find some strength, solace, and light amongst these pages.”

Written from the heart, this book of poetry and prose is split into three parts: Underground, Emerging, and Blooming. Presented chronologically, this book is an intimate witness to the ups and downs of recovery.

Offering comfort and light, Evie uses her platform to raise awareness about chronic illness. 5 stars all around. So rarely does a book put into words so exactly what you have felt and experienced. Evie's walk with chronic illness exposes so many of the thoughts and emotions that I've dealt with personally and serves as a reminder that you are not the only one to fight these battles.

So beautiful, moving and powerful. This book wrote everything I had been feeling and more. Evie articulates a stage of life not enough people talk about - the part when you're in-between stages and while you should be happy, everything is equally so hard. This book reminded me to slow down, that I'm not alone, and that healing is a messy but beautiful journey. Cannot recommend this book more!

This was honestly like a hug to anyone with ME and I'm really glad I read it. I also know I'm going to get a lot out of it as I grow with the illness because it helped me sit with a lot of things that I've been experiencing. I feel seen and a little bit less alone and when I'm too tired of thinking on a loop about why I'm feeling the way I do and I can't put it into words I can look at the book and go 'She gets it, it's okay.'

Poignant and beautiful, sad and yet joyous at the same time. An inspiring read. Highly recommended.

A book of hope, inspiration and mindfullness. I really enjoyed the conversations with wisdom and joy, but also so many of the other pieces. I have 20 pages bookmarked to read again and again. Recommend this to anyone struggling with chronic illness, especially when you're feeling a bit better. Her first book is best when things are dark and you feel like you may never get better.

Mindfully Evie was bedbound with ME/CFS. This book shows her progress until she's able to see the world outside again. I could relate to her struggles. It helped me with my own struggle with ME. She shows what emotions she goes through along the way. And she keeps hoping against the odds. It helps to know you are not alone in your own journey.

2.5/5 ⭐️⭐️💫
Lovely, but a little too positive for my current mindset and situation. Might uplift others though, which I appreciate.

Love that 10% of profits are split equally between an ME charity and a Lyme charity. 💙💚
