Danger and Mistletoe are a Deadly Combination

Bosco Albertini learned the hard way that focusing on his career is a lot safer than investing in love. So when he meets his sweet new neighbor, he puts her firmly in the friend zone, despite her soft hazel eyes, sharp wit, and tempting curves. It soon becomes difficult to keep her there because his brothers, his Nonna, and even his dog already adore her—and he’s not far behind.

Marlie Kreuk accepts the friend zone from the too sexy soldier because, hey, when a guy puts you there, he’s a moron who doesn’t deserve more. But when danger comes for her and Bosco risks his spectacular body to protect her, she can’t help but wish for romance. Although, he’s going to have to work for it.

With danger all around, Bosco and Marlie must face their explosive attraction while defeating deadly attackers, but even that is nothing compared to handling the Albertini matchmakers during the Christmas season. Busting out of that friend zone and surviving will take all of Bosco’s training, Marlie’s courage, and the magic of the holidays.

Holiday Rogue by Rebecca Zanetti
Anna Albertini Files series book 4.5. Contemporary Romantic comedy with a touch of suspense.
Bosco meets his new neighbor and though he’s immediately attracted, he declares them in the friend zone. He’s been burned in the past when his dangerous job caused tension in the relationship. He’s not going there again. But every time he sees Marlie, he’s drawn to her and he can’t help snarling at the men she’s dating.

I loved Bosco so much! He knows the Albertini men fall hard and fast but he’s in denial. He and his brother’s dog are adorable. Protective and a bit bossy, sure. He’s male. And a moron according to the Albertini women. As are all men. With reason and meant in the most indulgent and loving way, of course.
Bosco and Marlie are explosive together. His offer in the end is heartfelt and touching. Read it to find what what Marlie says in reply ♥️

I can’t wait to read more of these Albertini books. Such deep emotions and heart.

This is an entertaining, well-written, steamy, contemporary romantic suspense novella. It is fast paced with a likable female protagonist, a hot and heroic male protagonist, a cute dog, a loving and supportive family, mystery, intrigue, wit, and the amazing Nonna. I am looking forward to reading the next entry in Ms. Zanetti's outstanding Anna Albertini Files series with great anticipation.

I love the Albertini Family! They are a hot mess, but they have each other's backs and that is what family is all about. So many romance books have a hero or heroine who is afraid to live their lives due to some tragic event in their past. That is one thing our heroine, Marlie, isn't going to let define her life. She is brave and strong and a perfect fit for the Albertini Family.

When Marlie Kreuk moves to a new apartment is comes equipped with a hot Air Force pilot as her new next-door neighbor. But on their first meeting Bosco Albertini firmly puts her in the Friend Zone, without even bothering to get to know her. When he does get to know her, he finds out just how big a mistake that was. Marlie isn't about to make it easy for Bosco to change her designation - he is going to have to really work for it. So Marlie flirts and dates other guys while Bosco burns. But when a date gets handsy and later Marlie is attacked, Bosco goes all caveman to protect the woman who has stolen his heart. After all, everyone in the family knows that Albertini men fall fast, and they fall hard. Noona Albertini and Anna are going to make sure that they get their Christmas wish - Bosco wrapped up with a bow for Marlie.

This is the second in the Albertini Family romance novellas which will feature other members of the Albertini family.

Bosco Albertini, who is one of Anna’s many cousins, does covert ops for the military. His last relationship ended due to how often he has to leave at a moment notice so he's decided they arent for him. But he is second guessing putting all women in the friend zone after meeting his new neighbor Marlie Kreuk.

Love all the Albertini Family and happy we are getting some of the male cousins stories. Plenty humor, suspense and romance.

The Anna Albertini Files Series :
✅ 1. Disorderly Conduct (2020) - 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ read 16.12.2025
𝐀𝐍𝐍𝐀 𝐚𝐧𝐚 𝐀𝐈𝐃𝐄𝐍 - A perfect start to the series, and so funny. Despite all the dangers, I laughed out loud at the actions of our feisty heroine, who seems to have no luck left her. Luckily for her, she has several men around her who care about her. We'll see what happens in the next installment.
✅ 2. Bailed Out (2020) - 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ read 17.12.2025r.
𝐀𝐍𝐍𝐀 𝐚𝐧𝐚 𝐀𝐈𝐃𝐄𝐍 -it was a great sequel, the situation thickens, the danger reaches the family and finally we have clarity about Aiden's profession. I liked the fun side. It was a good move on the part of the author to break this tension with a large dose of humor. I like it in my readings.
✅ 3. Adverse Possession (2021) - 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ read 18.12.2025r.
𝐀𝐍𝐍𝐀 𝐚𝐧𝐚 𝐀𝐈𝐃𝐄𝐍 -Things are happening, oh so happening, as our heroes face many dangers, including a crazy guy who likes to explode. Luckily, they have each other and the additional support of the ATF SRT agents. The supporting characters also do a great job. And the Elders of both Houses, haha, I love those Ladies.
I love Aiden and his stoic calm and the way he treats Ann. They try to have a serious relationship together, but the past keeps coming back between these crazy two 💞
✅ 3.5 Holiday Rescue (2021) - 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ read 19.12.2025r.
𝐐𝐮𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝐀𝐥𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐢 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐃𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐬 -I rarely give 5 stars to such short stories, but this one fully deserves it. It's a great addition to the series, and we get a backstory about one of Anna's cousins, a bit about the rest of the family, and a teaser for the next case 🤩👍
✅ 4. Santa's Subpoena (2021) - 5 🤶🤶🤶🤶🤶 read 12/21/2025

Short, steamy and exciting 4.5 stars!

In this short novella, Rebecca Zanetti proves what a masterful writer she is – giving us a fun, exciting and suspenseful romance that, in less than 150 pages, that made me laugh and swoon, and that had my heart pounding. I loved it!

A spin-off from the wonderful Anna Albertini series, this novella is a story of Anna’s cousin, Bosco, and the second in the Albertini Family Romance books, but it can easily standalone

Bosco learned the hard way that his dangerous and secretive job with the military does not mesh well with relationships, and he’s ok with a solitary life, until he meets his new neighbour, Marlie. She’s new to town, and they share an instant attraction which he quickly squashes, putting them firmly in the friend-zone, even though Marlie makes it clear she’d be interested in more. So, friends it is… until it’s not. Their situation is already complicated, and when Marlie finds herself in danger, it’s Bosco to the rescue, and with his sexy body and his growly alpha protectiveness all in to keep her safe, things only escalate from there.

“We aren’t friends.”
“Damn straight,”: he said, possession in his eyes, power in his body. “We’re a hell of a lot more than friends, and we’re going to give this a real shot. Got it?”

I loved this book. It’s a quick read, but has great chemistry, and a lot of laughs. Marlie is a wonderful heroine – she’s strong, smart and sensible, and she doesn’t play games. She knows what she wants, she doesn’t hide it, and I love how down-to-earth and level-headed she is. And Bosco is gorgeous. So alpha, but such a sweetheart, he is determined to do the right thing, and I loved watching him fall hard and follow his heart.

Of course, the Albertini crew are heavily involved in the story, and I loved seeing so many of them again. They are all up in Bosco’s business, and I loved the crazy chaos of the family, and the way they just own it.

“I’m thinking the Albertini family might be a little odd.” Marlie Muttered.
That stopped Aiden cold. His eyes warmed, showing a conglomeration of blues. “They are. Get out now if you can. Trust me. Run fast and run far.”
Anna laughed harder, squirming over his very broad shoulder, his hand on her thigh holding her in place. Marlie swallowed. “We’re just friends. I mean, Bosco and me. Just friends.”
“Ha,” Aiden said, sidestepping her easily. “That’s how they get you, darlin’. I’ve already heard about you, which means the family has heard, and you’re as good as in. I hope you like big weddings.” He kept walking.

The suspense is exciting, and even in such a short read, it had my heart pounding, adding a lot of intensity to the story, and makes everything that is happening between Bosco and Marlie just that more awesome. The romance is functional and honest, and moves at just the right pace with great chemistry and tension. The banter is fun, the longing looks and flirting had me grinning, and the sexy time is smoking hot. And, of course, the emotion of the romance is absolutely beautiful.

“When we fall, we fall hard and fast.” He leaned over and kissed her, going deep. “I love you. Just thought you should know.” He grinned.

I loved this book. It’s a great read, and fun introduction to this family if you haven’t read the rest of the series – it will absolutely make you want more!. I’m excited to continue these spin off stories, and with many more Albertinis, I’m hoping we’ll get books for all of them!

Loved it! 4.5 stars.

Oh my goodness, this one was full of crazy and so much fun to read. It's a good thing that Marlie is a roll with the punches kind of girl because from the start the Albertini's just kinda steam rolled over her. From Fabio waiting at her door and entering when the door opened, to Bosco letting Marlie know he wasn't up for a relationship but friends with bennies is always good, a statement not very long after meeting her. From there it's trouble that seemed to find Marlie and everyone had to stick their head in to help and find out how was causing the trouble. Definitely made for a wild ride while reading. I liked the ending to this one, loved that Marlie just basked in the crazy that is Albertini.

The Albertini men fall fast. Bosco lives up to the reputation when he falls hard for his new neighbour, Marlie Kreuk, who has moved from Seattle to teach languages at the local college. Bosco’s ex couldn’t handle the danger of his job at the Air Force, so he stupidly delivers his “friends or friends-with-benefits only” speech on Day One. Poor Bosco.

Marlie befriends Anna and Tessa. Knox’s dog, Fabio, likes her. Bosco can’t seem to stay away. Marlie’s dating life annoys the heck out of Bosco. Oh, and someone tries to stab Marlie in the middle of the night. Wait, what?? Silverville and Timber City are small towns that are as dangerous as any big city. Seriously, when was the last time someone threw a grenade into 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 living room.

Come for Nonna’s spaghetti, but stay for the romance and adventure. Another very enjoyable Zanetti dim sum while we wait for the next Anna Albertini entrée.

I didn't realize how much I needed more of the Albertini's in my life until I read this book! We met Marlie very quickly in the last Anna book, and that meeting is replayed here through Marlie's eyes a short way into the story.

She meets Bosco after she moves into the building as he is returning from a mission and saves her from his brother's very inquisitive but friendly dog Fabio. His work does not allow him to speak freely, and it recently wrecked a relationship for him, so his first instinct is to friend zone Marlie. It doesn't take long for him to wholeheartedly regret that choice, but she is going to make him work for it if he wants more. His brother Rory thoroughly enjoys watching it all go down but has Bosco's back in the way most brothers do.

When Marlie suddenly becomes the victim of an attempted kidnapping, the question "why" is foremost on everyone's mind. I love how Nonna shows up and starts investigating along with Anna, and you just know that the Albertini all-in adoption of Marlie is on the way!

This was a great story that had me grinning, biting my nails and fanning myself- I cannot wait to see what shenanigans lie in store for Rory and his love interest after getting a tiny glimpse of that hot mess in action!

It shouldn’t surprise me how much I love the novellas in this series. Most of this author’s novellas from other series are wonderful. She has a knack for making insta-love compelling and not feel rushed. She’s able to convey fantastic chemistry from the start.

Marlie is such an amazing character. I love how she accepts Bosco for who he is and not who she thinks he can be. On top of that, when he says he’s not looking for anything but a friend she takes him at his word, at least on the outside. She’s not going to chase after a man who says he’s not looking for a relationship. If he can get over himself, he’ll have to pursue her and tell her he’s changed his mind. In the meantime, they can be friends.

It’s a lot of fun to watch Bosco’s family take Marlie into the fold while giving the couple that “yeah right” look when they deny there is anything more than friendship between them. You’ve gotta love the Albertini family and their meddling. It all comes from such a good place.

This story is super quick, funny, sexy, with a little intrigue thrown into the mix. As much as I’ve loved reading about Anna Albertini, I really look forward to these short stories about her family and their HEAs.

4.25 Stars 🌟

I am just going to repeat myself when I say that I am a huge fan of Rebecca Zanetti. I like all of her series but this one - to me - has the most humor. Anna's family is crazy, like totally bonkers, while at the same time being a family that you would just love to be a part of. This book is more of a novella and it takes place at the same time as the book before (the book that has Anna involved in a case of the Santa's).

We get to really meet Bosco Albertini, the youngest of the 5 brothers, and his new next door neighbor Marlie. For only being a little over a hundred pages, there is a whole lot of drama and it starts pretty quickly. This novella revolves around Bosco and Marlie, but somehow, we get to see most of the family involved. Let's see, on page there's Anna, Tessa, Detective Pierce, Nona, Aiden, every one of the Albertini brothers...and I'm sure I missed some. So yeah, it is chocked full of action, drama and a whole lot of laughs.

While the plot on this one does stretch the limits on the believability factor - I'm willing to ignore that because I just love this series. I can immerse myself in the story and completely believe that within 2 weeks of moving in, Marlie is the target of an attempted murder not once, but twice as well as a kidnapping...see, no problem.

And, you know those Albertini boys, the fall hard and they fall fast....

Or so they say.....:)

All This Is For A Date?

AlbertiniFiles4.5

Goodness! The strip of Idaho that runs between Montana and Washington is lively!

Now there are six Albertini cousins, not five; hope that number is firm now. Bosco is the youngest adrenaline junkie, but he must be home more frequently than Knox and Rory, to get his pairing off so soon. He is a hotshot pilot with extras - that didn’t get fleshed out in this novella.

Marlie is a new professor at a nearby college, teaching Chinese, and Bosco’s new neighbor. When the unexpected happens and some guy breaks into her apartment, Bosco is all over him. But they can’t figure out who he is. Marlie has only been in town for two weeks

Figuring out what level of friends they want to be is interlaced with family high jinks and personalities; but that pesky intruder comes back, and not alone.

All the Albertinis can handle themselves, with spunk and attitude. But a forceful personality does get more answers.

Hmmm...Now, what was the question?

5 friendly stars★

The Albertinis are back! This time it’s Bosco Albertini’s turn, who finds himself putting his cute new neighbor in the friend zone due to bad past experiences; little does he know how hard it is going to be to keep her there. Marlie Kreuk is new in town, alone and ready for a fresh start outside the big city, she’s not looking for romance, however, when it comes in the form of a sexy neighbor and she’s banish to the friend zone by him, she’s clear on one thing: If Bosco wants out of the friend zone he chose to be in, he’ll have to work for it.
Although things don’t go as planned: Marlie is attacked at her apartment and, moreover, it seems that the police don't have a lead on who did it. The Albertini family is going to get together to help her figure things out and, while at it, why not a little matchmaker by the hands of Nonna Albertini?

This novella has it all: laughs, steamy scenes, sweet moments and action pack situations that are going to keep readers at the edge of their seats. Furthermore, we get to see Anna and Aiden again, also a glimpse of a possible storyline for another novella in the future (this part is me wishing for another Albertini story). So many things happen in just a few pages that you’ll not want to put the book down until you’re finished. Questions of who put a target on Marlie’s back and if Bosco is going to be able to help her before whoever is doing the chase catches her, are just a few of the inquiries that will keep you up until you read the last word. All in all, just another amazing and fast paced story by Rebecca Zanetti.

>Book Review – Holiday Rogue

>I am an independent reviewer. This novella is 4.5 in the Anna Albertini Files and ends with an HEA for Marlie and Bosco. Marlie is new in town and moves in across the hall from Anna’s cousin, Bosco. He is uber protective, just like all of Anna’s male relatives. Bosco saves Marlie from a handsy date. He is attracted to Marlie but puts her in the friend zone due to his dangerous job in the military. Bosco’s prior relationships couldn’t handle his unpredictable hours and danger. Marlie can handle both, but Boscoe is gun shy. Marlie meets an ex of Bosco’s, but doesn’t show any jealousy, which is weird.

>Anna and Aiden show up for a bit, in a scene from book 4 shown from a different POV. This book is appropriate for an adult audience. I am giving this book 4 stars. I love meeting the Albertini cousins.

Marlie and Bosco meet when she moves in across from him. He is gone a lot with his job and she is starting a new position at the college to teach language. He puts her in the friend zone right away and she doesn't know quite what to do with that. She wants to see if there can be more and says he will have to fight to get her out of the friend zone. Her words said one thing - her actions another. There was a lot going on in this novella and some of it was beyond realistic. The whole reason behind her being in danger was not believable at all. Anna and Nonna butting in was on par with the other books. I did like how Bosco didn't play games and let it be known at all times where he was at with his feelings. Jennie seemed to have done a number on him which was understandable as to why he was not looking to get involved with anyone. Overall a good addition to this series.

What a fun story to read! You gotta love the Albertini Family! Loud, nosy and fiercely protective over the ones they love!

Bosco has a job that he can’t talk about…it’s dangerous and it tends to scare women off! Marlie is an instructor at the local college…teaching languages. Polar opposites…or are they?!

Bosco starts off by telling Marlie they can only be friends. Marlie immediately classifies him as a moron! But when danger enters the scene Bosco saves her and realizes he wants more than just friendship. Marlie wants more too, but she's going to make him work for it!

And the sparks fly! I totally enjoyed this book, as I do all of her Albertini books! It’s a quick but fun read…you’re going to love it! Another winner for Rebecca Zanetti!

Romantic Suspense with a dash of Comedy!

This is book is set during “Santa’s Subpoena.” The fourth book in this series. But is about Bosco Albertini, Anna’s cousin. And he meets his match in Marlie Kreuk. She is the new professor at the local college. And right off the bat he screws it up by putting her in the “friend zone.” But don’t worry our dear author turns things around. Marlie is suddenly under attack. Fortunately Bosco is around to save her. And then do it again. The bad guys just won’t give up. Can they figure out who is after her? And why? Will Bosco realize that he loves her? This story is full of twists and turns. And Nonna Albertini gets involved too. I love how Rebecca Zanetti weaves the humor with the danger. And ends it with a Happily Ever After.

Loved this novella

This was great and I can totally see me reading this again.
Boscoe is such a strong alpha stud who fell for Marlie at first sight. But he put her in the friend zone since his job is not conducive to a relationship, as shown by his ex. He’s also super protective of her and can get bossy (in a hot way). Marlie is a fantastic heroine. She’s very mature and a straight shooter. She’s not overly prideful so goes with his bossiness if it makes sense. Their times together are wonderful and can be very sweet. Lots of feels.
The plot is very interesting and this book moved at a very good and fast pace. Lots of action. I like that we get both POV’s.
I highly recommend this novella and this series is great also.

Holiday Rogue (The Anna Albertini Files #4.5)by Rebecca Zanetti
Bosco Albertini is a true hero and his new neighbor Marlie Kreuk moves in - no matter how cute and sweet she is he puts her in the "friend zone". Come on he is a Albertini male how long will that last?
There is instant attraction, protective feelings, angst, an old girlfriend, wonderful Albertini family, danger, mystery, violence, some laughter and tears and plenty of steam to get us to a very HEA.
Reasons I enjoyed this book:
Romantic Funny Unpredictable Entertaining Steamy Wonderful characters Page-turner Happily Ever After Great world building Scary Tragic Easy-to-read Action-packed

Loved Every Word

The Albertini family is pretty amazing and I love their stories. Bosco has a new neighbor who has just moved into the apartment next to his own. Marlie is beautiful and has an awesome personality but Bosco is still leary of getting involved and hurt again. He makes it clear they are friends only and she accepts that but then he seems to have a hard time remembering that he set the boundaries. Everything changes when someone breaks into Marlie's apartment and tries to kill her. Bosco and Marlie are thrown into a relationship and it almost costs them their lives. This is an excellent book and definitely worth reading.

Love the Albertini Family!

I honestly just can't stop smiling from how much I absolutely LOVED this book! The Albertini Family is so much fun to read about (I wish they were real and I could spend a day with them.). The interactions/relationship between Bosco and Marlie is written extremely well and makes you fall in love with them as a couple quickly. The action in the story is awesome and I honestly wasn't sure who the danger was coming from. The story is well written and grabs your attention from the very first sentence! I listened to the Audible and the narrator did a phenomenal job drawing me into the story!! I highly recommend this book!!

OMG WOW Bosco and Marlie are off the charts. Typical Albertini family with danger following them. I literally could not put this read down. There is sooooooooooo potential for many more books. I can't wait for Tessa's and I so want to see what happens to Rory and his ex. But there is also Vince and Knox GAH. Plus when is Aiden and Anna going to get engaged/married. Yeah Yeah he gave her a promise ring but honestly that was so not satisfying. I want them married. Bosco wasted no time at all even though he talked all big and bad and put Marlie in the friend zone......Yeah that worked out for him. This seriously is a must read.
