Hello Danger You’re in the woods in a cabin by yourself, and you let a stranger in during the middle of the night, then you go upstairs and hear more knocking and crashing to find two masked men. Then to find out the stranger isn’t who he said he was. Shocker. (Said with sarcasm) felt like I was reading a manuscript from the 1980s horror film, I am not complaining;I love the concept.
However, the book was too predictable. It’s dark with several triggers. Which normally I love. Madison is repeatedly sexually assaulted and falls in love with her captors. That does not to bother me.Long story short the triggers didn’t bother me.
The words just didn’t flow for me.. Too many inconsistencies. I can ignore the grammatical errors. Some more research would have helped this book. Especially with American slang, editor an alpha reader would also help.
I went into this book expecting a very dark dark romance however no, not the right genre for me. Perhaps "horror erotica" is more fitting. Because wow is it horrifying, I won't put a spoiler warning to this as if your interested in reading it I think you should be aware. It's heavy on the rape, hostage and horrifying behavior towards the heroine. The guys are not morally grey, they are straight up horrifying. I can't say it was romantic in anyway (or erotic) for that matter. I read this as an horror or an extrem horror and therefor the rating. It had my hooked on the story and I was so engrossed in the heroine needing to know she was going to get out. I want to read the next book but I doubt it will be an easier read. Very much a thriller. I'm nor sure what genre is, "Erotic horror"?
If you ever saw that movie the strangers and Spit on your grave.. its kinda mixed of those 2 movies.. I wouldn't really call this a romance.. dark yes.. maybe dark erotica?? But I wouldn't call it a romance.. now before going in guys... it's dark and triggers so be warned.. also I put triggers below
Madison has booked a month in a cabin by herself to get her writing down for a new book she's enjoying it until she hears a knock at her door. Atleast she was cautious at the moment buy she let her good genes and answers it and meets Raven a man who's phone and car is out of order and ask to barrow her phone she does and invites him in (RULE 101 IN ANYTHING NEVER INVITE ANYONE IN) and that's when all the horror happened. She's knocked out and being held hostage by 3 Jake and Tyler and Raven and on the first night she is raped.. like really and the 2nd night by another guy.. only one guy Raven doesn't rape her he feels sorry that they are doing this.. but it isn't simple.
For the next few days she is assulted by 2 of the guys and now the one she thinks she falling in love with. Until he (Raven) rapes her to... I swear... for days (13) she been used and abused.. until she makes it her plan to get out so she has to fake it to make it. And idk how this is a RH.. there is only one group scene.. now she finally has her chance and she takes it.
The ending is a twist and there is a sequel... am I going to read it.. probably yes because kinda wanna find out what happened. I gave it a 3 star because well it was fucked up.. that is all lol

I picked this book up by mistake I'd seen hype on tiktok about what I thought was this but it wasn't, I spent the entire time hating it.
I love dark romance but this book is what I imagine people who hate/judge people who read the genre think its like
One of the most unbelievable protagonists I've ever read in my life Was this meant to be a satire of the genre? I can't with this book!!!!!! - that's me being a little witch because the amount of exclamation marks in this really irritated me Why is she SO excited Is she OK
Know what you're getting into. I think this is a really brave book - it's unapologetic abduction, non-con fantasy with a twist at the end. Many authors are not comfortable with even the concept, but I applaud this author for being forthright and tackling an area of fiction that's so uncomfortable. For readers, read and heed the trigger warnings. This is not fluffy fiction with the lights off and the door closed. This is unapologetic, in-your-face non-con. I did feel the editing issues detracted from the reading experience, which was really unfortunate. A good edit would have made this a smoother, more enjoyable read. But I'll still look for other books by this author because the bravery of the way the author tackles the subject matter shouldn't be ignored.
3 stars overall although I'm tempted to give it 4 stars as I did finish it in one night.
The heroine is a writer finishing her book out in a cabin in the woods. 3 escaped prison inmates decide to take over her cabin to lay low from the authorities. She lets one of them, he pretends to need her phone. She is attracted to him which leads her cabin being taken over by them.
KNOCK KNOCK was easy to read and enjoyable, although it is hard to describe why, in some ways. Typically when I read darker themes, there are several reasons why that is. One of them is the non-con fantasy, but it didn't feel very much like a fantasy for the heroine here on a conscious or subconscious level. In fact, the first few scenes are rape. There is no attraction for the heroine in these acts. And there is no porn vibe until the last sex scene where all hands are on deck. Another reason for darker themes that I've seen is for the author to explore with an erotic horror atmosphere; the romance takes a back seat for the heroine to experience physical violence, but the writing here is too juvenile of a style to pull off the pathos.
I guess this reads more like entertaining fanfiction. It's pretty engaging, although it doesn't engage you on a soul level, it's just a good enough story if you're in the mood for it.
I have a lot of thoughts about this book. First off, I love a lot of terrible books. Books of all types that are not well written but I love them anyway. But this…this was. Well it was something.
First off, this needed to be HEAVILY EDITED. There were so many grammatical errors that I actually noticed and I usually don’t. The amount of exclamation points used was out of this world, it was like she was EXCITED! ABOUT! EVERYTHING! ! ! ! ! I also recall the word “re-sucking” being used. I thought hey, maybe I just didn’t know that it’s a word? It in fact is not a word. The formatting of the book is all over the place as well, half of the chapters started in the middle of the pages. The dialogue is stiff and awkward and again everything needed to be edited so badly.
This was marketed as a Reverse Harem/Bully Romance. I LOVE dark romance/noncon/dubcon etc. but, this book is straight up rape. There is no connection between the FMC and any of the 3 main men. There’s a weird plot point where one of the men pretends that the FMC is his dead wife and she goes along with it to try and “help him” through his feelings. Ma’am. What?
The “spicy” scenes (the one I read that the MC consented to), felt so forced and strange that it read more like a science book trying to explain sex.
Don’t get me started with the AHHH OOOH MMMM AGHHH OOOO ARGGGGG’s when the author was trying to describe moaning and pleasure from any of the characters.
I saw this book hyped on tiktok and man, I got played.
I don’t count DNFs usually in my reading goals but I suffered through 58% of this book so I’m counting it.
I think the only reason I'm giving this a two-star is because of the revenge and twist at the end but the rest of the book not for me. And in my eyes none of the guys were at all redeemable especially Jake he was a piece of s*** and she should have killed him. For the most part I scanned through just to see what happened.
With a line like that on the back of the book, I had high hopes for this dark why choose-y book. Unfortunately the book was not for me. It wasn’t the triggers that triggered me, it was just that it was so much non/dub-con just for the sake of it, a lot of things on repeat and no real character development or plot. I like it when books make me feel something (good or bad) and this book made me feel meh. It happens sometimes. I have book 2 on my shelf as well and I will read it. I will say: You may love this book. This is just my opinion.
Unfortunately not what I expected, a lot didn’t add up and even tho it’s a dark story it somehow felt really immature. Especially the characters and their banter. A story with potential but didn’t fulfill expectations.
Brutally triggering. Knock knock would have been more interesting written as a horror novel than an erotic romance. The author has potential to write some scary work but everything else between our characters was more scary. I couldn't look past some of the frightening ways this scenario was supposed to be sexy. Nor could I settle well with the ending. This book just wasn't my cup of tea.
OK so I decided to read this book even though I read lots of negativity and triggers about it. I'm pretty OK with triggers so I decided to read it for myself and see what the fuss is about both good and bad. Spoilers ahead guys..... * * * * * So this story is about Maddison, an author who has gone to a cabin to write her book. She gets a knock at night and decides to answer her door where she finds a handsome stranger......she let's him in and goes upstairs to change!!!!! Then she hears a commotion and finds 2 more men in her home but is only concerned about the first man.....yadda yadda yadda.
The characters in this book are flat, Maddison is put through some gruelling rape scenes but certainly does not act as if she is a rape victim. She far too flat, no real emotion comes from her. Her captors are felons who have broken out of prison but the story as to how they found Maddison is ridiculous. Imagine just breaking out of prison and the first thing you do is go on the lookout to find a woman on her own that you can rape!
The story is weak and OK I know about Stockholm syndrome but really?????? She falls in love with one of her captors who is also the one who has the largest erm "member" and is the only one who makes her "come". But the story fails to include simple details like, she is handcuffed to a bed but you only read of her using the toilet once? You only read of her being fed breakfast, nothing else. She is repeatedly raped but there is no mention of any birth control and yet she doesn't become pregnant. And it's like she is left to lie in her captors seamen as she only takes 2 showers. During rape scenes you are not made to feel her dismay or pain and honestly there is little mention of the real trauma she would have suffered if she had been raped in the way that is described. She is able to take them again and again sometimes in a 3 way but there is little mention of how her lady bits have endured the abuse, some pain is mentioned but nothing else ....not enough detailing in this book to make it believable and unfortunately this leads to the characters being flat and unbelievable.
This author needs to work on her grammatical and editing issues and on developing her story and characters in a more believable way. The plot had merit but the delivery of it was poor.
The only real saving grace I guess is the plot twist at the end.

This is a super dark book that isn't meant for everyone. If you can understand this is strictly just fantasy and can be ok with darker storylines it's great.
Maddison rented a cabin for a month so she can write. Late one evening there is a knock on her door. When she opens it to a handsome stranger she's not expecting that her life will be turned upside for the next two weeks.
I couldn't put this book down. I loved hearing the back stories of the characters. Though this book is dark the author is able to make you understand why the characters are the way that they are. I'm very excited to read the next installment.
So this book so pretty hard to read. It tells you there are triggers but it doesn't not inform you of how freaking traumatic this book is to read. I have never put a book down so fast. I got about 2, maybe 3 chapters in before I put it down. Repeatedly raping a woman is not a dark reverse haram romance. This book is barbaric at best! Trigger doesn't even come close to it. A girl gets repeatedly raped by 3 psychotic men and it's just too graphic and sexually violent. Sorry to offend anyone that did enjoy it but Damn.

I didn't actually have any expectations to this book, when I purchased it earlier today. I just really loved the cover, and the blurb. Lately, I've been looking for something extra dark, and boy did Knock Knock deliver! The plot is straight forward for most of the book, despite the alpha assholes holding the FMC hostage, constantly saying that "it's complicated" - it's really not! It is however deliciously depraved and sinister!
Maddison has treated herself to a writer's retreat, in order to focus on writing her book. What she imagined to be a productive month by herself quickly turns beyond her worst nightmare, when she late at night hears the knock knock on her door. Nothing could have prepared her for what's to come, after she opens the door to a complete stranger!
This is a quick and addictive read. I'm not sure if the author has a Beta or Alpha reader team. However, there are a few mistakes that such a team could help pick up on. For example a mixture of British English spelled words, but American English terms - and the plot is taking place in the US. I also felt like a few things were skimmed over, that I would have loved if they were elaborated on more. However, none of this stopped me from enjoying the book.
The triggers in this book are not to be taken lightly. Not at all! It is dark and there's a lot of depravity and non-con going on. If you're fine with that, then I definitely recommend Knock Knock.
I am unsure how I feel about this book. I knew what I was getting into, triggers aren’t an issue for me, and I was all in for the story. I have to say I enjoyed the idea of the book, and the majority of the storyline, but I think it needed to be cleaned up a bit. If some parts were slowed down, and some parts were logical and made some sense it could be better. I like that the guys stories were each discussed, and I do enjoy a little Stockholm syndrome, or even pretending so you can survive. I saw this book recommended on tik tok, so I gave it a chance. Still really not sure how I feel about it.
This book was a train wreck I just couldn't get off. It was just AWFUL and ridiculous. Poor editing on this one. The story in in 1st POV with the FMC telling the story. Takes place in Arizona which she is also supposed to be from. Yet there is a good amount of British dialect, with the constant use of :"whilst" and "Uni". FMC ~ Maddison/ Maddie: She is a complete moron and rather annoying.
The conversations the MCs have are so ridiculous. 😤 😡 And omg "my/his intimate area". 🤢 🤮 This is a non-con/dub-con book, say dick and pussy not some fluffy shit. 🤬 Where are the bathroom trips? Also not sure where all those raving reviews came from that were on the Amazon blurb, because I don't see them here.
There are so many grammatical errors it is difficult to get through
Trigger warning for rape scenes. And if you don't want a rape victim to fall for her rapist then skip this one. Obviously a non US person trying to write about life in the US. Nobody calls the hood of a car the bonnet. Waist is the middle of your body. This could have been a 5 star read if it had been proofread and edited.
Ok, let me start by mentioning that this book is in serious need of editing. The amount of grammatical errors (ex. your/you're, come on, you're an author!) and lack of punctuation throughout the book, made it nearly unbearable to get through. Next, apparently the h can go 2 weeks chained to a bed, being raped, without needing to go to the bathroom. Holy bladder infection/uti hell. The payback for the h was very sweet...but then she ran off into the sunset with one of the H's. Que eyeroll.
I’m sorry but this book did not fit the dark romance or reverse harem category for me. There was nothing romantic about the book. I love dark romance this was just brutal and there was really no character building to any redeeming qualities for the male characters. I get this book is short and fast paced, maybe if more time was taken to develop the characters more it would have been a better read… it’s a no for me
Raise your hand if you got very inspired by Haunting and Hunting Adeline and chose to write a book? Wynter girl, you raise that hand up!!
Sometimes, you don't need to write a book to try and make it the blackest of romances out there. You also don't need to try and cover almost every trope there is. I feel her story planning went: Non- con. Tick! Dub-con. Tick! Bully. Tick! Enemies to Lovers. Tick! He falls first. Tick! Reverse-Harem. Tick! Masked men. Tick! Feeble FMC. Tick! Stockholm Syndrome. Tick! Stalker-esque. Tick! 6 feet scary but beautiful and dangerous. Tick! Honestly, this could go on and on.
I also didn't appreciate all the ahhhs, argh, humph to describe the men having an orgasm. Nor did I enjoy reading the term anal passage about 20 times.
Everything was rushed with no character building or development. The rape was horrific and there is no fucking way a girl could go through all of that and manage to fall in love with one of them.
Jake was the worst character I've ever read, for the simple reasons that 1. He was the biggest fanny of all time, all brooding and "I'm so scary". 2. He made me feel sick with the sloppy kisses. Gads, Wynter. Gads! 3. The pretending she's his ex dead wife then raping her so brutally in above mentioned anal passage.
Fuck sake, I baught book 2 so I'm going to read it. Then I shall put both books back on the shelf, shall never think of them again and have a stern word with booktok. You bitches did me dirty.
Living out in the middle of nowhere basically can be quite scary for Maddie, but being a fact/fiction writer, she was kinda used to the eerie feeling. Until that unsettling night where a stranger came to her door and asked to use her phone. Uneasy feeling, though she let him inside. Knock, knock, came the next one and then another. Three men, looming over her three men who are gonna make her life change in so many ways. She won't know who's coming or who's going. Now her life is going to be every changing.
Wow, this book caught me by surprise in a good. Woah! That last twist and turn, never expected it. I am so looking forward to the next book Winter Adam's is an amazing author and well-rounded when it comes to writing a book. All the feels. Phenomenal
Description and Review: Home invasion and forced proximity.
🚨 Triggers: rape, sodomy, physical abuse
Maddison is a writer and goes to a remote cabin with a lake nearby to inspire her to write a book. One night, as she’s getting ready for bed, she hears knocking at the cabin’s front door. She doesn’t immediately open the door because she’s alone, so she yells through it, finding out that it’s a man whose car had broken down and he needed a tow truck. She opens the door, hands him her cell and he calls a towing company.
She lets him in to wait for the tow truck, as she runs upstairs to put something warmer on. The lights go out, there’s a crash, the stranger that was in her cabin has disappeared and Maddie’s cell phone is crushed on the floor. In walks 3 masked men…
This might have been one of the strangest books I’ve read in a while and the ending was predictable. Despite predicting how it would end, I felt I needed to prove to myself to find that out. That’s what this story is - a soul sucker; the kind of book that makes you feel ill reading it because of what happens to Maddie, but you’re right along with her as she wants her revenge. It’s the type of story that sets you up and drops you on your face at times and then picks you up again and you ask yourself what the fuck you just read.
You’re introduced to our masked men: Jake, Tyler, and Raven, and they start unveiling their personal stories to Maddison.
The strangest part of this book? I couldn’t put it down, and I’ve already started book 2. If you’re okay with the triggers (Maddison is put through it), go check into this one.
This book doesn’t have the greatest reviews, but honestly I enjoyed it. There are some errors here and there, but it didn’t bother me. I couldn’t put it down. I read it in less than 24 hours. It reminds me of the movie I Spit On Your Grave. This book was dark and hard to read at times. I didn’t see that ending coming at all. I thought it’d be different. I think I’m definitely going to read the 2nd book!
3.5 ⭐️ This was my first read from Wynter Adams and it was a good thriller. The triggers are real for this book and most of them are about non-con. I liked the plot and I liked the characters but to be honest, some parts felt a little lacking and incomplete. Did that make dnf? Heck no! I still recommend it to fellow readers like myself who are a bit twisted in their literary choices!
