About the author

High Priest of the Church of Satan as well as a writer, occultist, musician, and actor.

He was the author of The Satanic Bible and the founder of LaVeyan Satanism, a synthesized system of his understanding of human nature and the insights of philosophers who advocated materialism and individualism, for which he claimed no "supernatural inspiration."

LaVey viewed "Satan" not as a literal deity or entity, but as a historic and literary figure symbolic of Earthly values.

This tome (just calling it a "book" doesn't in my mind do it justice) is something I have literally been waiting for all of my adult life, every since I, at seventeen, first read THE SATANIC BIBLE and THE SATANIC RITUALS in their respective paperback editions. I had waited and longed for it for so long that, when I first heard of this special release, I was a bit nervous that it might not live up to my expectation and I'd be left disappointed. I was not disappointed.

It had earned a place among my favorite volumes in my collection before it was even out of its packaging. It has the weight, feel, and refined aesthetics these publications have always deserved.

The Satanic Bible and The Satanic Rituals are required reading for anyone interested in Satanism, and this is the must-have version of the books for any self-respecting Satanist who doesn't have the budget for - or simply cannot find - first editions.

The book has a beautiful hardback binding. The vermeil text and insignia is inlaid into the thick, durable, black paper of the cover and spine. The dust jacket is of a glossy material and appears to be most durable. The pages themselves are thick and matte. No tissue paper thin pages to rip or glare from your reading light to contend with here. The chapter page illustrations copied perfectly and are of the highest quality.

In short, this is a professionally created special edition that will look great on anyone's bookshelf. It is a high quality product that is fully licensed by the copyright holders and in my opinion you would be crazy not to pick one up TODAY.

Really interesting read if you have seen a lot of horror movies and such with Satanic themes but, in reality, know nothing about it. Makes the movies a bit less scary though, once you know that the movies are really just movies.

First half is a good touch on atheism/agnosticism. 2nd half didnt get me through.
Did learn some nice ideas that I didnt know I lacked.Definitely a great gift book.
