I’m Esme Hightower, and I’m on my way to becoming a psychic medium. Well, I was anyway, until I became the prime suspect in a murder investigation.
I need to locate a missing necklace to prove my innocence, but that’s easier said than done. You see, a mystic stole it. The same mystic that I’m accused of killing. Even my ex-boyfriend, Chief Casanova, is doubtful of my story.
If I don’t figure things out soon, I can say goodbye to my reputation and forget about becoming a medium. Worse than that, though, I’ll be behind bars. What’s a wanna-be-psychic to do?
I really like Esme , a southern sassy medium ,just trying to become certified . She finds herself in trouble while looking for a stolen pendant. I like that she does not run from trouble but towards it to right a wrong for her client. Fun , FAST PACED READ , LOOK FORWRD TO THE NEXT BOOK .
I love Esme, in fact, I think that’s my favorite thing about this series: the characters. Always important to me, as that really sets the tone. The lighthearted style spoke to me, and the mystery element was well plotted. I really enjoyed it, I even wish it had been longer, but that was because I never want a good book to end!
Book two in the series continues with the saga of Esme continuing to learn her craft of being a psychic. Her new client asks for help talking to her dead grandma. She is trying to find a pendant that her deceased grandmother left her. So the twists and turns begin as Esme begins the search of trying to find the pendant, find a killer, and learning new secrets about her and her family. Good quick read. Looking forward to reading book three to see how Esme’s story continues.
This series is so delightfully quick and easy to read. The storyline is simple and the characters are lovable, if not a little typical for a cozy mystery. Esme is a psychic working with her ghost connections to solve the mystery of a stolen Mystic pendant, and navigating her love life between the irresistible Hawk and the reliable Chief Casanova. She discovers new talents during her investigation and I'm sure we'll see plenty more of them in the ensuing books!
Esme is a psychic hired to find a poweful unicorn pendant. The mystic who took it wont reveal who she gave it to and then is murdered. With Hawk's help, she tries to find evidence to prove her own innocence. And then she learns something about her ancestry that will keep her and Hawk apart. And who is the killer? She goes to confront Ada Mae, her client, but what they find leads them to another conclusion.
The book contains way too many cheesy quotes toward the end of the book. Creating conflict between shifters and witches for no reason makes no sense. The book lost all character depth. Even a paranormal story should feel authentic and make sense on some level.
Wow, just wow. Such a good mystery and lots of feelings. I even cried, but it is filled with friendship, love and family. If you’re a fan of paranormal cozies you have to read this series.
I enjoyed reading this book, the characters were well defined and interesting and as the plot developed kept me guessing as to who dunnit. As I read this book first I will go back and read book 1 now.
Nope. Nope. Nope. Esme and Hawk belong together regardless of this thing where they are supposed to hate each other simply because she’s half witch/half psychic and he transforms into a bird!!! Not that Chief Casanova is bad but he’s not for Esme!

I feel the same way as I did in my first review from Book 1. The one difference is that there were a lot more feelings in this book, and I found it sad. Still a good story and good characters. Recommend reading.
I’m really enjoying these easy, quick cozy mysteries. Ezme is great and is learning new things about herself. The love triangle has a little bit of drama and makes you really interested in who she’s going to be with.
Very good reading, I'm sure you'll enjoy. Psychic coming into her powers. Plus two guys wanting to be her number "1". But she's got a lot on her hands full.
The reader will find pleasant the hours spent with this book. The characters are nicely flawed and the plot moves along. Looking forward to the next in series.
The second offering in the series. I did not read the first, but had no trouble following the story. This is a novella with a definite cliff hanger leading to the third in the series.
Esme Hightower lives in Fiddlehead Creek, Georgia; it’s a small town, but full of (paranormal) secrets! Esme is a psychic-medium in training, but there are also witches, shapeshifters, and mystics residing in this cozy small town. The chief of police, Guy Casanova, is human, but aware of the paranormal existence in town, he is also Esme’s ex-boyfriend. Esme was on the trail of a magical necklace missing from one of her clients, when the thief was found murdered and Esme became the prime suspect. Time is running out for her to prove her innocence, but then Hawk, a sexy shapeshifter, swoops in to save her. It’s a cozy paranormal murder mystery that will surely raise the dead and anger some powerful folks in the process. It’s fun, with likeable characters, a slow burn rekindled romance, and a lover’s triangle. Sounds like fun!
Esme has another mystery to solve but will she escape this time? Love her and Hawk together. Enjoyed following the clues and trying to figure out more than one mystery. Secrets are revealed and they could possibly change things between more than one character. Looking forward to book 3.
