I met Ben a few years back, and the amazing energy he brings is felt in all his writings. This is a short and easy read, overviewing some great leaders and their styles of leadership, with great commentary and application from Ben. It’s a great quick win to kickstart the burn!
I was not a fan of this book. The topics on leadership are generalized and do not go into much depth while being written at a basic level. This was a required reading for a class otherwise I would have put it down over the first three chapters.
Ben Newman is an amazing person himself, but he takes 11 of the world’s greatest leaders and breaks down one unique key principle from each of them. I’m familiar with a few of these leaders, and it was amazing to see it broken down simply and in a very straight forward way. If you are looking to improve your leadership skills or simply apply ANY or ALL of these tactics to your life in order to become more satisfied or happy with the life you are living, this is a must read.
I had to read this book for a class on leadership and was disappointed in it. I understand the motivation for writing it, and from what I hear this author is an excellent speaker to meet in real life, but this book reads like a high school essay. Disorganized thoughts, repetitive, and so brief that it doesn’t really develop any of the ideas in depth. Watch a YouTube video of one of his speeches instead and choose another book to fill your time!
very short book full of 11 examples of leaders and their principles. good examples but mostly shallow.
unfortunately, the book is very very American and dominated by stories like those of university football coaches - not that easy to relate to it for people outside the US.
Life doesn’t always treat us fairly. It’s easy to give up when things don’t go our way. But not until you are backed into a corner can you fully understand how much fight there is in you.
Today I will do what others won’t, so tomorrow I can accomplish what others can’t.
I follow Ben online and love his message and enthusiasm. This book is full of great examples of people who have accomplish big things by using their burn
A great quick read. Leadership quick bits! Perfect for somebody looking for a small dose of wisdom and shared stories of multiple leadership examples, along with Ben’s commentary.
The writer provides leadership aspects of 11 individuals than follows up with his own brief analysis. It's a quick read but does provide some great information.
