Sara Wood was born in England. She has wonderful memories of her childhood. Her parents were desperately poor but their devotion to family life gave her a feeling of great security. Sara's father was one of four fostered children and never knew his parents, hence his joy with his own family. Birthday parties were sensational her father would perform brilliantly as a Chinese magician or a clown or invent hilarious games and treasure hunts. From him she learnt that working hard brought many rewards, especially self-respect. During her degree course she met her husband, a kind, thoughtful, attentive man who is her friend and soulmate. At 21, she married and had her first son at 22. Now she has another three children. She loved teaching in Sussex which she did for twelve years.

Her switch into writing came about in a peculiar way. Richie, her elder son, had always been nuts about natural history and had a huge collection of animal skulls. At the age of fifteen he decided he'd write an information book about collecting. Heinemann and Pan, prestigious publishers, eagerly fell on the book and when it was published it won the famous Times Information Book award. Interviews, TV and magazine articles followed. Encouraged by his success, she thought she could write too and had several information books for children published. Then she saw Charlotte Lamb being wined and dined by Mills & Boon on a television programme and decided she could do Charlotte's job! But she'd rarely read fiction before, so she bought twenty books and analysed them carefully, then wrote one of her own. Amazingly it was accepted and she began writing full time.

Sara and her husband moved to a small country estate in Cornwall which was a paradise. Her sons visited often; Richie being married to Heidi and with two daughters; Simon rushing in after some danger- filled action in Alaska or Hawaii etc, protecting the environment with Greenpeace. Sara qualified as a homeopath, caring for the health of her family and friends. But Paradise is always fleeting. Sara's husband became seriously ill and it was clear that they had to move somewhere less demanding on time and effort. After a nightmare year of worrying about him, nursing and watching him like a hawk, she was relieved when they'd sold up and moved back to Sussex. Their current house is large and thatched and sits in the pretty rolling downs with wonderful walks and views all around. They live nearer to the boys (men!) and see them often. Richie and Heidi are expecting another baby, Simon has a baby son and a new, dangerous, passion flinging himself off mountains (paragliding). The three hills nearby frequently entice him down. She adores seeing her family (mother, mother-in-law too) around the table at Christmas. Sara feels fortunate that although she's had tough times and has sometimes been desperately unhappy, she is now surrounded by love and feels she can weather any storm to come.

My thoughts on this one.... Send in the Ninja Kittens to kill this book!

description

This is a typical SW mess - the H dumps the h for an MOC cause his family needs the cash. The h marries his brother and is used as the scapegoat for the H's brother's crimes.

The h goes to prison, the H takes her child after his brother dies and when the book opens, the h is fighting breast cancer and has just been released.

She wants her daughter back, the H wants to abuse her some more and somehow, SW thinks this is a romance. The H wins on the permanent whipping horse and bed warmer stakes and the h thinks it is true love forever.

I was not a fan of this book - at all. But I love Ninja Kittens.

The h is too forgiving and forgetting for my tastes and the H is a fickle, hypocritical and callous ratfink.

This was a very different read for me. The Hero was celibate and the heroine wasn't. They were lovers but then his Father forced him to marry someone else who was pregnant. He did and it was marriage in name only. The heroine ended up being bamboozled by his brother and They were married and had a baby. He was mean and raped her and hit her. He defrauded his own family's bank and blamed it on heroine and they sent her to prison for five years. Her baby was only 6 1/2 months old and the scene in the prison where she learns that Leon, the H took her baby to Greece was heartbreaking. He was pretty cruel. Fast forward and the heroine is coming to Greece to abduct her baby and take her back. She then sees how much the hero loves the little girl who is 2 1/2 now. She got out of prison because she was diagnosed with breast cancer and was really sick. It was sad but of course there is much more going on throughout this. The Hero was playing her so he could get proof she was amoral so he would get her baby. It didn't really make any sense. There was his ex-wife, her spoiled rotten child, a sexy sister in law and a demented lust filled lawyer thrown into the mix. It was just crazy. And I liked it. I don't know why. It was sad in several places and the hero even cried in this one. I loved the ending and would read this book again.

This story was just okay. It had the potential to be a bit angsty, but the feels just weren't there. I never felt any connection between the Hero and the heroine either. This story is a bit older (2001), and the way the characters talked was so outdated that it felt way older than 2001. Everything tied up way too coveniently and too quickly at the ending too.

I couldn't love the hero, he didn't believe in the heroine at all. On top of it, she lost precious time with her daughter, her flesh and blood because of this man and his family. I'd be taking my child and high tailing it out of there.

Gross. She has a relationship with the H and then she marries his brother and has his brother’s child. Of all the men to rebound with, not his brother.

4 1/2 Stars! ~ Leon and Emma were best friends and lovers in college. When their affair ended very abruptly, Emma was heartbroken and thankful for the support and caring shown to her by Leon's brother, Taki. She married Taki on the rebound and soon regretted it. Mere months after giving birth to her daughter Lexi, a drunken Taki dies in an auto accident, leaving Emma to face the music for his criminal deeds. He's framed her for defrauding the family clients, nearly ruining the family and the business. As the evidence of her innocence has apparently died with Taki, Emma is convicted, her child taken to Greece by Leon. Now upon her release from prison, Emma is determined to reclaim her daughter. Leon isn't receptive to having the woman who contributed to his brother's death and nearly ruined his family have anything to do with the toddler, so he sets out to prove to her that she isn't needed. And she discovers that Lexi is loved very much and that it would hurt her to be taken away from Leon.

From the openning chapter, Ms. Wood writes a powerfully emotional love story. Leon's struggle with himself is bitter. He despises Emma for all the sins he believes she has committed and yet can't help his burning desire for her. Emma is a remarkably strong woman, who has endured more in her young life than any woman should have to endure. There are incredibly poignant moments that will stay with me for some time. Leon's discoveries of the truth and Emma's journey to become a mother to her child is a heart wrenching and finally a heart warming one. These characters are rich with life. Well done!

IT IS TIME THAT GOODREADS ANNOUNCED THE NO STARS GIVEN OPTIONS.

This is a book in which the hero manages to cheat, betray and steal the heroine's child all in a few HQ classic chapters. Claims to love her, makes love to her to go right at his engagement party afterwards....heroine sees the ow and H as they exit the hotel. Heroine finds comfort in his brother and they get married, brother is a fraud and frames heroine. 5 years later he dies, heroine goes to jail, hero takes away her kid...no calling back for h's health, no looking after her...doesn't listen to her explanations, does not for a moment think she's innocent. Heroine battles cancer, stress from losing her 6 month old finally gets to her body. 2 years later, she's back for her daughter. Hero tries every possible scum-of-the-earth thing to keep them apart. Every. Thing.

Oh, and the 6 month old he stole? Her health worsened in her mother's absence but that heartless monster did not care. The baby could have died, now at almost age 3 she carries around a doll calling her mom, her behavior is not that of a little baby's, she obeys the hero like a puppy, is only familiar with him. The A-hole does not soften even the tiniest bit at the poor mother's anguish.

In the end he's all like blah blah blah loved you all along blah blah blah blah on top of another blah blah blah. And the compensation? He's divorced now but was not even celibate.

Was this a romance or what? THE STUPID HEROINE FORGAVE HIM FOR EVERYTHING, BY THE WAY. Not sure who I hated more in the end but oh, what, misery......

I normally don't like books where the hero and heroine are in love but when something drags them apart they move on with other people.

I still don't like it but this was a very angsty read that kept me enthralled to the end. Emma loved Leon, but when he betrayed her, she turned to his brother Takis which turned out to be a mistake. The only thing good that came of the marriage was her baby. Lexi was everything to Emma but she lost her too when Takis death led to Emma's imprisonment for defrauding the family company.

Leon took possession of his brothers child, determine Emma would never see her again and corrupt her. When Emma is finally released from prison, earlier than expected after health issues arose, her first thought is to get possession of her daughter.

Leon is absolutely beastly to Emma but it's obvious right away that he adores two and half year old Lexi and Lexi adores him. He is the centre of her world and her mother, Emma is a stranger.

This is a story of deception and betrayal and two people who loved each other and were torn apart. Emma in particular suffered cruelly and it takes a lot for Leon to redeem himself.

Rubbish.
Heroine is so badly treated it makes this a far too depressing story. Add in the cruel and nasty leading man this was not an enjoyable read.
Brief summary
The hero and heroine are in love, then he's forced to marry another woman (he's weak throughout the whole story). Heroine then marries the heroes brother yucky! The brother then frames her for fraud. She's sent to prison for 5 years but released early because she's seriously ill. The heroine's marriage to the heroes brother had produced a child, which the hero now has custody of and keeps the heroine from her child. I'll give you three guesses the only way he will let the heroine see her daughter. Nothing is resolved till the final few pages. I have no idea what the author was thinking writing this depressing rubbish.

The Kyriakis Baby

Their romance was short lived. When she turns around and marries his brother a rift formed between the brothers. After her husband died she was framed and put in prison for embezzlement. She had to give up her baby. When she was finally released she wants her back. But he is not going to allow that to happen. He makes her jump through many hoops just to see her child. What happens when he begins to believe that she was innocent? How will they move on? What about her child?

2.5 stars this poor heroine suffered so much because of the a**hole zero cheater. He even took her daughter! The reason for dumping the heroine was bad however much forced he was! He was mad and angry with HER for marrying his brother after HE dumped her. Poor gullible heroine got trapped with his fickle brother! Even after all she suffered the Zero was not ready to give back her daughter! And I hate how the heroines can't control their reactions even after being betrayed by the so called zeroes

A very angsty tale of two ex-lovers who life beat the heck out of and then brought back together for a happy ending.

Leon and Emma were madly in love with each other in college. When the spoiled self centered daughter of Leon's godfather ends up pregnant by another guy, he is forced to marry her to save the family from shame. Archaic and barbaric!

Leon had no choice but to marry Marina the Witch, leaving Emma heartbroken. Leon's brother Taki begins to date and eventually married Emma and they have a daughter together. Taki also embezzled millions from the family's company. Taki dies, leaving evidence that made it seem like Emma did it.

Emma gets accused and convicted of a crime she knew nothing about and was sentenced to five years in prison. While serving her sentence, she learns that Leon, who now hates her all all that he believes she did, has taken her 6 month old daughter.

Two and a half years later, Emma is released from jail due to health issues and has shown up in Greece to try to get her daughter back. She meets with Leon and realizes that all with him is not what it seems. She refuses to let him bully her and insists on seeing her child.

This poor woman was treated abominably by the members of this family. After Leon basically dumps her, she should have run in the opposite direction. Instead she marries his jealous abusive younger brother who frames her for his crimes.

When she does show up to see her daughter, Leon treats her like scum. I understood that he was angry and hurt, but he was unnecessarily cruel. Yet, in spite of all his cruelty to Emma, he adored her daughter, who looked just like her.

It was a book that kept me turning pages and guessing how everything would be resolved. The story was interesting, engrossing and well written. You felt compassion for the main characters even when you wanted to give them a good shake. It may be a bit angsty for some, but it is still a great read.

Nope just nope. This book tried really hard to make me like it and it had all the right ingredients, lovers torn apart by interfering family and misunderstandings galore but this had some very unlikeable moments for me.
The h, I just couldn't get over her shacking up/marrying her soulmates brother it's just too much eww for me even if said brother turned out to be a massive evil douche.
But the H was a wuss, he allowed himself to be manipulated into a MOC, didn't man up and confess to the love of his life that he needed marry this witch for family reasons or even gently break up with her. Then when she needed him he didn't believe her and left her to rot and took her child - so much for love! Then to top it off when he hooks up with her again he's still doubt her innocence and worries about what his friends and family will think of him shacking up with a crim than believing in her.
So yeah I don't think he is such a prince after all. I hate when people dally with other family members ewww

Baby is Leon's but she married and she slept with his brother..Emma and Greek tycoon Leon Kyriakis had once shared an intense and passionate love, but their relationship had ended abruptly. Heartbroken, Emma had married Leon's younger brother on the rebound. But she'd paid dearly: she'd been framed for fraud.... Unable to prove her innocence, widow Emma had seen her baby daughter taken away -- by Leon.

So awful...I wonder what more calamity or tragedy could the author dump on our heroine Emma?!

Leon is a wimp. He was forced by duty and his moral code to marry the Greek heiress who got pregnant with some random guy at 17. His godfather's own daughter. Now I thought Greeks are into macho and bloodlines so what if this child was born a boy? he'd legally be Leon's heir and his godfather and long time family friend was going to do that? Please the book was in 2001 abortions might go against their moral codes then send her away and give up baby for adoption or whatever! These are rich tycoons they have money to solve problems!

Instead they forced Leon to marry Marina, he broke Emma's heart (she literally bumped into Leon at his engagement party WTH) and he's brother Taki was conveniently around to console poor Emma and she married him on the rebound. Eeks.

Taki had a lifelong jealousy and rivalry with elder bro Leon and the latter was soo clueless he did not know *roll eyes*
This Taki turned out to be an abusive creep and drunk who framed Emma for his fraudulent activities before conveniently dying. Left with NO evidence to prove her innocence she was sent to jail. Meanwhile Leon took her baby daughter Lexi away to Greece to be raised by his shrew of a wife. Eeewwwwe.

Emma had breast cancer in prison anf got released early. After treatment all she wanted was her daughter and so pour in all the angst. To give her a mother's love or pry her away from her perfect home and daddy figure Leon?

Leon did not live the perfect life he was initially showing to Emma to convince her to give up Lexi. He was still living with his now ex-wife Marina and the daughter Soula was growing up to be a psycho like her mother. Thanks to the calming presence of Natasa the sister-in-law was the household able to run itself!

The end just came like this...Leon did not do any grovelling in my opinion. He found out she had cancer and the thought of her dying nade him realise he couldn't lose her and only then was he able to entertain the thought she might be innocent of the crime for which she was unfairly convicted.

This book is so wrong on so many levels...it's a terrible thing to see an innocent sent to jail and this our heroine.

It's just too much. I love me some angst in my books but not this. my heart cannot take it.

Oh man! This was bad on bad street. What the author trying to see how much could fit in this tiny book?! Wrongly convicted, ex lovers, married other people, baby raised by uncle, mean other woman, awful dead husband and new other guy. Like relax!!!! How about the wrongfully convicted and getting baby back. Cause everything else made the couple complete jerks! He ditched her and married another woman, heartbroken she married his BROTHER and he framed her for fraud and raped her and knocked her up(when did that happen FYI?), she gets cancer in jail. Heroine gonna steal baby but sees she’s okay. Random mean ex wife and sister in law, just learn to cut unnecessary plot lines! Ugh. Everyone is very unlikable. Skip.
