I was eager to dive into this short story about another one of Mama Mae’s boys. Owen is a sexy cowboy who is emceeing a bachelor auction and had no intention of going up for bid. Until he sees the beautiful Kira in the crowd and decides to take a chance.
I really enjoy the way this author makes her characters lovable and the story sweet and sexy and devourable in one sitting. Kira and Owen were really cute together.
This quick read with a sexy AF cowboy and a curvy city girl is full of insta-love goodness and plenty of romance. On to the next brother!

Kira and her friend are at the Bachelor Auction for her birthday. One look at the hot Emcee has Kira changing her mind about not wanting to take part. Owen sees Kira sitting in the front row and immediately knows she’s going to be someone special in his life. This was a sweet read with likeable characters who are total opposites. Kira wants to start her own business and be independent. Owen wants to be protective of Kira but can’t believe she chose him. I received an arc copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

It was superficial, and the characters have no depth, so it was hard to relate to them. It should have been longer and developed the characters more. Though with the amount of typos in such a short novella, I can't imagine how badly edited a longer novel might be.

What a way to celebrate your birthday....Yes please!
Owen: One Night with a Cowboy is the second book in the One Night series. This story is about Kira and Owen and continues with the overarching story-line that all the stories are based on. Kira is celebrating her birthday by being dragged to a bachelor auction by her best friend since grade school, Juno. Juno is determined to get a man for Kira so that she can get "back in the saddle" again after have her long time on/off boyfriend break up with her two weeks before her last birthday. One paper he was the perfect catch but in reality he is an idiot who she just cannot say no two when he wants to come crawling back. But Juno wants to see Kira finally over the ex so that she can enjoy herself, as she is leaving in a week for a year long internship with a fashion designer in Paris, France. Kira is excited but also not really sure about the internship, as it is with her ex's aunt. But Kira sees this as a stepping stone to getting her own dream of starting her own accessory design company. At the auction she has a reaction to the emcee. As it turns out it is Owen, who is one of Mama Mae's "boys". He is the one who has helped organize Mama Mae's retirement party into a bachelor auction fundraiser. When he sees the beautiful and curvy young woman sitting in at a front table his mind completely goes blank.....as all he can think about is her. When Owen puts himself up for auction he is hoping that Kira wins but when she doesn't even bid he thinks his chance is lost. Luckily for him Kira surprises even herself when she comes in at the very end with the last but very much the winning bid. It seems she is going to get to celebrate her birthday with a date with a cowboy, that night.
This was a delightful, fun, and smexy short story. The story-line is entertaining and the characters are sweet with as nice spicy kick to them. Add in a dog, a horse, some carrot cake, a wildflower meadow and some fun under the wide open Texas sky while looking for shooting starts and you get the idea. It seems that Mama Mae raised some sweet and dirty sexy cowboys.

I had issues but liked it.
One thing that annoys me in a book series is continuity issues & this is only the 2nd book in the series so, I'm starting the 3rd annoyed. In Grant, Owen picks up Grant at the airport right before the auction cause he couldn't get an earlier flight. Its just them in the truck. In this, he's with Brody & Mama Mae & they go pick up Grant from the hotel he's staying in. That brings up another issue cause he didn't get a hotel room in Grant cause there wasn't time and he went to Mama Mae's. These aren't long books & its only the second one but that's a big issue in the storyline. In Grant, Owen auctions off his brothers but in this he does a couple auctions & makes arrangements to leave with Kira. So, she just completely disregarded her own starter book in the series. That annoys me to no end when the writer changes an existing storyline to fit what she wants this story to be. It's laziness too, especially only on the 2nd story. If anything, Owen should have last. Then there the issue with Kira's timeline. She says her ex dumped her 2 weeks before her birthday. 11 months & 12 days before the auction. She's stated that exact number. However, its her birthday the day if the auction. So, that's wrong. If he dumped her 2 weeks before her birthday than it would be over 12 months since he dumped her if it was before her birthday. Or to fit the 11 months & 12 days, it would have to have been 2 weeks after her birthday. Does no one edit these or check for issues like this before publishing?! It ruined the book for me. I’ve got you (some of my favourite words)
This book is about Owen and Kira. Owen was doing a big favour for his wonderful foster mum Mama Mae, along with his foster brothers. He was going to emcee the bachelor auction for her retirement celebration. She wanted to raise money for the non-profit organisation she’d been working for all these years.
Kira’s best friend Juno had begrudgingly convinced her to attend a bachelor auction for her birthday celebration in Broken Bend. Juno was convinced that Kira needed some kind of rebound man since her ex left her 11 months ago. It had been a while since she’d been with a man, and since she was leaving the country shortly, it was possibly a good excuse to leave her inhibitions behind, even for just a little while.
She won the cowboy at the auction and they went on their date. When he found out it was actually her birthday, he pulled out all the stops and gave her a special evening to remember. It was incredibly sweet and very hot! I thought for sure they would stay together from that night on, because their chemistry was so magnetic, but I was wrong, because she did move to Paris for her internship.
With neither of them being able to forget about the other, how will things pan out for them? Will Guinness be able to fill the hole in Owen’s heart that Kira left behind a month ago? I give this sweet book four and a half western stars.

i read this book as part of an arc program. This is another book in the Bachelor Auction series. Owen is the cowboy of Mamma Mae's foster sons and agrees to host the bachelor auction to raise money for the program Mamma Mae founded for troubled boys and dogs. Owen was also going to be auctioned off for a date. Kira was going to go to Paris for an internship soon, so her best friend dragged her to the auction to celebrate her birthday. Kira was not interested in the men, but when she saw Owen, she thought she made a connection with him. Owen saw Kira and knew she had to win the date with him somehow. Owen and Kira had an instant connection and shared an amazing night, but she was leaving soon and knew it couldn't lead to more. I really enjoyed this instant love story. I love how Owen was so sure of Kira, he arranged to be auctioned off early so she could win him. I think Kira needed to know there was still good men available. Another good one.

Both Kira and Owen had a bad relationship in the past but at a charity auction, they connect despite plans already in place that would pull them apart. I really liked the sentiment of opposites attracting and they are each the missing piece the other needs. The love created between them draws Kira back to Owen and their lives are richer for it.

When Owen and his brothers decide to host a bachelor auction to help out their foster mother's foundation he never imagined falling in love with one of the bidders. Kira only wanted one fun night before she left for Paris and she ends up getting more than she ever imagined. This is a fun, short story with likable characters and a sweet ending. This is book two of the series and I look forward to reading the next book. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

I loved this book!!!
This was such a good book to read. Kira's best friend invited her to visit for her birthday and to see her before she left to go to Paris. She treated her to attend an auction for a date with a cowboy. At the auction, both Kira and Owen were instantly smitten. This was such a good love story. Read it you'll enjoy it too. :)

One night with the cowboy up for auction is just what Kira needs once she gets a look at Owen. Loved this storyline of meeting the perfect guy right before she leaves for a once in a lifetime job offer. Great characters with a fun twist on raising money for charity. A fun ending and looking forward to more in this series.

Wonderful!! This was a nice quick, short read.
Kira and Owen meet at Mama Mae’s retirement party. When Owen is on stage auctioning off Mama Mae’s boys he spots her in the audience. Juno her best friend takes her to the auction. As Owen is onstage Juno calls out to him asking when he’ll be up for bid. He walks over to them and squats in front of them introducing himself. Juno ask him when her friend can bid on him and he tells them he was planning on going last but he could bump himself up the agenda. When he goes back to the center of the stage he tells everyone he’s the next one on the block. As the bidding starts Owen doesn’t think Kira is going to bid. Other woman were bidding on Owen, Juno put her bid in but Kira pulled her hand back down. When Owen lifted the gavel from the podium to seal the deal, when Kira shouted out fifteen hundred dollars. Own yelled sold for fifteen hundred. He takes a five minute break, and talks to Kira. He tells her when she done settling up in the back they’ll figure out their date. She tells him she assumed it would be tonight. As she is leaving Tuesday to go to Paris. Owen goes to talk to someone as she waits for him. He comes back to let her know he has someone to cover him the rest of the night and they can go on their date. He asks her if she would like a moonlit trail ride. He asks her if she's ever ridden horse and he tells her they can ride double. He helps her in his truck and they head to his ranch. They talk as he drives getting to know each other. He finds out it’s her birthday, he turns around and heads back into town. Owen gets his horse ready and Kira is afraid to get on. When she looks at him her lip part and he takes that and kisses her. She leans into the kiss, wrapping her hands around his neck. They both pull back and he asks her if they should take that ride before they get carried away. Owen climbs on and pulls her up. He stirred the horse out a long dirt road, until they reach the end. Owen pulls the reins to stop the horse and asks her if she’s ready to get down. He pull the blanket out of the bag and asks her to sit. They lay and watch for shooting stars, he tells her he’s never felt like this about anyone before. She tells him it’s strange but she feels it too. They kiss and she pulls him closer and runs her tongue down his neck. He asks her if she is sure and they unbutton each other, stripping their clothes off. He tells her she is gorgeous, the most beautiful women he’s ever seen. He kisses her down her body, he leans down on the blanket and spreads her legs then kisses her inner thigh working his way up. He pleasures her then kisses his way back up her body. He flips her over letting her set the pace. He tells her she is in control she slid down onto him and circled her hips. She increases the pace and he tells her to come for him. He soon follows after her and they stay in each others arms for a moment after. A month after he dropped her off at the motel to meet her friend. He wished he’d asks for her phone number or email address, he wished he held her tight and never let her go. He is mucking the stalls when he leans the shovel against the wall. He sees a silhouette at the door. Thinking he is dreaming he shields his eyes from the sun. Mama Mae told her he was out there. He asks her what she is doing here. She got to Paris before she realized she didn’t want to be there, she wants to be with him. She goes to hug him but he pulls back not wanting to get her dirty. She tells him she wants to get dirty that means they can shower together. She asks him if she can stay and he tells her of course. He tells her he loves her and she can stay as long as she wants. She asks him how does forever sound. He tells her forever sounds perfect. Some time later, she is sending out her first order. She wants to get to the post office. Owen has a bottle of champagne for her. He pours her a glass. He tells her he has something they need to ask her. He goes down on one knee and tells her since the first second he saw her he knew she was the one. He just got word he purchased some land and it’s going through, he’s taking the ranch to the next level. He asks her to marry him, and she says yes.

She tells him it’s strange but she feels it too. They kiss and she pulls him closer and runs her tongue down his neck. He asks her if she is sure and they unbutton each other, stripping their clothes off. He tells her she is gorgeous, the most beautiful women he’s ever seen. He kisses her down her body, he leans down on the blanket and spreads her legs then kisses her inner thigh working his way up. He pleasures her then kisses his way back up her body. He flips her over letting her set the pace. He tells her she is in control she slid down onto him and circled her hips. She increases the pace and he tells her to come for him. He soon follows after her and they stay in each others arms for a moment after. A month after he dropped her off at the motel to meet her friend. He wished he’d asks for her phone number or email address, he wished he held her tight and never let her go. He is mucking the stalls when he leans the shovel against the wall. He sees a silhouette at the door. Thinking he is dreaming he shields his eyes from the sun. Mama Mae told her he was out there. He asks her what she is doing here. She got to Paris before she realized she didn’t want to be there, she wants to be with him. She goes to hug him but he pulls back not wanting to get her dirty. She tells him she wants to get dirty that means they can shower together. She asks him if she can stay and he tells her of course. He tells her he loves her and she can stay as long as she wants. She asks him how does forever sound. He tells her forever sounds perfect. Some time later, she is sending out her first order. She wants to get to the post office. Owen has a bottle of champagne for her. He pours her a glass. He tells her he has something they need to ask her. He goes down on one knee and tells her since the first second he saw her he knew she was the one. He just got word he purchased some land and it’s going through, he’s taking the ranch to the next level. He asks her to marry him, and she says yes.

First things first; I like the cover of this book!
Owen is the second book in the ‘’one night’’ series. This story is short, fast paced and an enjoyable read. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline enjoyable. When Owen agreed to be a part of a bachelor charity auction for his foster mother, he never expected to find love. Kira is dragged to a bachelor auction by her best friend. When she sees Owen, she is instantly attracted but will she give love a chance?
The chemistry between Owen and Kira is clear to see and I liked them together.
I really liked the ending and the epilogue for this story.

3.5 stars. I enjoyed the premise of this story and how Kira, the female lead, is working on discovering herself and working out who she is, especially in light of her recent relationship breakdown.
The male lead, Owen, was cute in his earnestness and his desire for a settled future. I liked how he was so genuine in who he was.
This short story was dual POV, well written and edited, and I liked how Kira made her choices uninfluenced by Owen. I received a complimentary copy from the author and this is my voluntary honest review.

Unexpected love
It was a fun and interesting story. Best friends and birthday surprises. Owen learning to love himself and the family he found. Kira learning that traveling the world won't help find your soulmate and believing that love is enough. Both finding a surprise at a charity auction and retirement party that neither were looking for at that time. Help the dogs find forever homes.😃

This quick read is full of good characters, real experiences, instant attraction, chemistry, connection, hopes, dreams, being honest, sadness, happiness, support, acceptance and love. A sweet little read.
