Завдяки частим походам в Київський Планетарій під час початкової школи, я реально хотіла стати космонавткою….потім спустилась та хотіла стати стюардесою…а стала ким стала 😂
Цікава книга для дорослих та дітей!

Everything Awesome About Space and other Galactic Facts Is sure to be a hit with young readers, especially reluctant readers. Information and exciting facts are at readers' fingertips. Genius design using comic book bubbles and fonts make weird facts fun to read.

Lowery certainly understands his audience. They want fun and informative factoids. They want to learn funny things they can share with their friends and family. Chock-full of space minutiae even a NASA astronaut is likely to learn something new reading this little gem. This is the perfect book for a beginning Astronomy unit.

Incredible little known discoveries like that of the tardigrades will thrill readers. Tardigrades are known as water bears and are microscopic, yet considered the most resilient animals discovered. In 2011 scientists put them outside their spaceship without a spacesuit. Ten days later scientists discovered 68% of the tardigrades survived in space without a spacesuit!

In the early Space Program astronauts had to eat food from squeeze bottles. It was not very good. Today astronauts enjoy using tortillas in the place of bread to make sandwiches. Not only are they flat and easy to store, they don't have crumbs like bread. Did you know you can't snore in space? It’s because there's no gravity, You sleep without snoring.

Vibrant, full-color illustrations will delight the eye. Brilliant cover design makes this book jump off the shelf. Lowery has a new bestseller on his list. Bravo Mike Lowery for making space science attainable and understandable for everyone.

Highly, highly recommended grades 3 to adult. This is a must have for every science aficionado and every science classroom and collection.

If your students like facts about space, jokes about space, and learning in a very visual way this book is for them. Each brightly colored page with a comic book feel offers all of the above items. Teachers will still have the non-fiction book parts of Table of Contents and Fact Boxes to showcase, but the delivery in this book is geared toward the readers in a delightfully appealing way that is like none other in my collection. Lowery also includes drawing guides as one of his chapters.

This series is so visually appealing that many of my students want to read them all. (I have not bought them all yet, but I will!) From reading this series I have added some graphic novels by Mike Lowery to my library collection. I have added Everything Awesome about Sharks already and plan to add Everything Awesome about Dinosaurs in both of my elementary schools.

Surely it can't contain *everything* awesome about space! Mike Lowery certainly makes a great go at including everything. I love that inbetween the illustrations and drawing instructions, space facts, and actual explosions, Mike Lowery has thoughtfully included some dad jokes for your reading enjoyment. I also appreciate that in the best DK-style tradition, there are larger and smaller font-sized facts so that younger and older children can take in level- and interest-appropriate tidbits.

A supplemental tidbit, courtesy of intergalactic highways:
Space is big/Space is dark/It's hard to find/A place to park/Burma Shave (actual origin: science cartoonist Sidney Harris)

Another title in the Everything Awesome series by Mike Lowery this is full of illustrations and plenty of information to pique the interest of any space enthusiast. Meant for elementary age readers, even older readers will find plenty to keep their interests. Anyone can learn from this book, self included. Being a new book it also includes the new James Webb Space Telescope. From astronauts, to planets to black holes, this book has a little of everything.

Lots of interesting information delivered in a fun way! I reed it with my 9-year-old. He already knew some of the facts, but we both learned a lot and laughed a lot.

This was a great book about space. I didn’t know that space ice cream wasn’t actually served in space. I thought that was a neat fact.

Everything Awesome About Space is, well, pretty awesome! The large, comic-like illustrations and font is easy to read and is appealing to the eye. The book is well organized and includes plenty of subjects including the universe, the planets, stars, space travel, and more. It's packed with fun facts, jokes, and humor in every page that makes it engaging to flip through casually or devour cover to cover. I was pleased to see Katherine Johnson and the West Area Computers included in the section about the moon landing, though the other illustrations could have used a little more representation.
My only other critique is that some of the explanations are in a very small font that isn't the easiest to read. Overall though, a stellar book!
