The Omega Prophecy #3

Betraying Destiny

Rate this book
Betrayed and killed by the god destined to love her

He was meant to be her lover, but he would rather see the Omega dead than surrender to Fate’s snare.

No one escapes the Realm of Death, but if Annabel doesn't find a way out, her mates will die along with her, and Ragnarök will leave nothing behind but darkness and ashes.
Her only hope is to win the heart of the god who killed her. But even if she can trick her way into his icy soul, can she ever love a man whose hatred for her reaches back to the moment of her birth?

I am Nora Ash, and I write a plethora of different romance books. Some of them are really dirty, some of them are only kinda-dirty, some are paranormal, some are contemporary… Basically, I have a rampant imagination and no way of controlling it, except from just writing down whichever idea pops into my head at the time.

The one thing my books always have in common, though? A great story and a guaranteed HEA.
If you’re ever in doubt about what you’re about to read, have a look at my book page. It has a flame rating for each series, so you know what you’re getting yourself into!

I’m originally from the cold North (AKA Scandinavia) but these days I live in rainy England with my amazing fiancé and our two pesty cats. When I’m not writing, I’m probably reading, watching Real Housewives of Wherever (reality tv it’s my shameful addiction) or hiking in whatever bit of woodland I can find.

Three fun facts about me

I once ran away with a traveling circus
I’m bilingual. Almost-kinda trilingual, but my Spanish is terri-bad these days.
I’m a decent rider (English style only, though)

Ancient Norse gods combined with omegaverse - this series is original and absolutely gripping! The world building is outstanding and each book takes you to a different world. This final book in the series was mostly set in Hel, the land of the dead. There are some fascinating secondary characters along with Annabel and her mates, of whom it’s the final one, Grim, who this book is mostly about. Very much a tortured soul, it becomes apparent through the book just why he is so dark. Although there is a happily ever after ending, I’m not convinced that this is the end and suspect there might be another story to come, set 19 years in the future…

‘Betraying Destiny’ picks up exactly where ‘Weaving Fate’ left off and we find Annabel in the one place she never expected to be, facing an impossible task – convince the godling who’s meant to be her fifth mate, that he should really get on board with the program to help her end Ragnarök. Good thing she’s one clever and determined Omega.

We learn of Grim’s treatment as a Mistborn child and understand how that has impacted his decisions regarding his prophesied fate with Annabel and ultimately, his role in Ragnarök. I enjoyed their interactions as they cajoled, argued, and negotiated, all while trying to out-maneuver the other to gain the upper hand. I loved the intensity of their eventual connection, but, not surprisingly, their journey to HEA was anything but smooth.

I really enjoyed the conclusion to this very entertaining, Omegaverse reverse harem fantasy series featuring several gods and goddesses of Norse mythology. The story is well written and the characters are compelling and endearing. Once again, there’s plenty of drama, action & adventure, danger, conflict, magic, mystery, suspense and humour. There’s also some snarky banter and dirty talk too, along with several intense, explicit, Alpha/Omega MF encounters featuring knotting, in addition to some steamy ménage scenes, but no MM action.

I received an Advance Reader Copy from the author, and am voluntarily leaving a review.

A lot of things in the trilogy didn't make sense or wasn't elaborated upon.

Like what I indicated in my review of the first novel, the Norse mythology parts could've been researched more thoroughly (especially since Nora Ash is Scandinavian herself, and the main character is pursuing a PhD in Viking history).

The Omegaverse and Reverse Harem parts are well-done as usual for a Nora Ash work, but if you want to read RH with a better story and world building, I would suggest the Into the Darkness Trilogy.

Was she dead after she was forced into Hels Realm of Death? Can she make Grim mate her to fulfill her destiny? Can she forgive him for killing her and keeping her from her alphas? Annabel has a lot at stake as she finds her inner strength and uses her empathy to try and earn Grims trust. Nora out does herself in this series final and shows that true strength lies within as well as in the love one shares for another. This is a phenomenal ending to the series and makes me CRAVE more of Annabel story with her alphas. You will not be disappointed!

This was a fun read and interesting conclusion to the trilogy. This book picked up from the same spot that the previous book ended it is definitely a series that you need to read in order. and I am guessing and it is just a guess but I don’t think we have seen the last of this world or at least the door has been left open for the Author to return 18 years in the future although I am also thinking because of the wording of the deal she made it won’t be Annabel and her mates story that is continuing but it will the their daughters.

Nora Ash did a great job tying up all the loose ends in this series, bringing the character relationships, and action to life on the page.
I loved seeing Anna become the powerful force she was always meant to be, surrounded by her five alphas and their unrelenting love, devotion and protection.
I even signed up for the newsletter to get the bonus epilogue - and oh my gawd, it did not disappoint - what a teaser!
Only reason 4 star instead of 5, was the unrealistic spicy seasons, and how the final war scene abruptly ended.

I absolutely adored every book in this series, but I think Betraying Destiny might be my favorite. In this book Annabel spends lots of time with very dark and tortured Grim. But is that a good thing? Read and find out! This story has it all: angst and adventure, danger, love and loss and redemption. I couldn't put this book down and I'm so sad that its over. I will miss all the wonderful characters in this series.

enthralling

This trilogy had everything! Slow to start but the world building and character development was worth it. Once the story grabs hold of you it doesn’t let go. Our omega and her mates go through so many trials to hel and back and the reader is there with them. I don’t have the words like Nora Ash does but you have to read this, you won’t be disappointed 💗💗💗

Overall 3.5⭐

Don't know what to say other than I just enjoyed this series.

Has a decent plot behind all the smut and a mixture of omegaverse + gods. An interesting take. Finally, the smut is good even if a bit samey at times..

The betrayal of one of the Hs really gave all the feels!! Didn't think I would feel sorry for him!!

Oh and loved h's strength..

Epic end to a great series! Definitely had some decent character development with Grim and Annabel’s relationship, and enjoyed their acceptance and growth into the crew. Really enjoyed this, and a quick read!

This one might have just made up for the absolute mess that the first two were tbh, but it’s still feels a little too…familial for me. Like do all her mates really have to be related to each other like that?

Book Hangover

I'm kind of just sitting here in a stupor. Very sad that this series is over. I really hope there will be more books in this universe.
