‘Betraying Destiny’ picks up exactly where ‘Weaving Fate’ left off and we find Annabel in the one place she never expected to be, facing an impossible task – convince the godling who’s meant to be her fifth mate, that he should really get on board with the program to help her end Ragnarök. Good thing she’s one clever and determined Omega.
We learn of Grim’s treatment as a Mistborn child and understand how that has impacted his decisions regarding his prophesied fate with Annabel and ultimately, his role in Ragnarök. I enjoyed their interactions as they cajoled, argued, and negotiated, all while trying to out-maneuver the other to gain the upper hand. I loved the intensity of their eventual connection, but, not surprisingly, their journey to HEA was anything but smooth.
I really enjoyed the conclusion to this very entertaining, Omegaverse reverse harem fantasy series featuring several gods and goddesses of Norse mythology. The story is well written and the characters are compelling and endearing. Once again, there’s plenty of drama, action & adventure, danger, conflict, magic, mystery, suspense and humour. There’s also some snarky banter and dirty talk too, along with several intense, explicit, Alpha/Omega MF encounters featuring knotting, in addition to some steamy ménage scenes, but no MM action.
