Ernest et Célestine #10

Ernest și Celestine la muzeu

Rate this book

In the written pages of Where Are You, Ernest and Celestine, Ernest the adult, grownup sized bear and Celestine, the child sized mouse go on an adventure to the museum where Ernest has a job interview. Unfortunately Ernest doesn’t get the job; the museum director won’t let Ernest bring Celestine along with him. The director tells Ernest and Celestine to check out the paintings while they’re there. And so they do!

I'm going to be honest: I'm not a French speaker, so I do not understand the edition I own of his book. However, the illustrations and the liveliness of the font seem to speak for themselves and Lu and I are absolutely enchanted by the relationship between this stodgy bear and his young, hyper mouse companion.

A delightful episode in the lives of Ernest and Celestine. A small adventure fraught with relatable tensions. Gorgeous illustration joy is multiplied as the story takes place in a museum and therefore doubles as a seek n find of favorite classical paintings. Satisfying ending and plenty of heart

This is a sweet story - I read the French version and it was easy to understand. The illustrations are also very good at conveying the story and the characters display a lot of expression. We haven't read any of the other books in this series, but I think our girls would like them.
