Wrassle Castle tells the story of Lydia Riverthane and her passion for Wrassling. Built on themes of friendship, family, patriotism, and sports – the Wrassle Castle series is an absolute recommendation for readers of all age groups.
There are three books in the series, and they fit in the genres of Juvenile Fiction, Comics and Graphic Novels, and Fantasy. The illustrations are beautifully done, and the text fits in perfectly with them. The flow of the story through the illustrations is perfect, and easy for children to understand and grasp.
The story has multiple relatable elements – friends who lie to parents on your behalf, sibling rivalry, while sharing deep respect and love for your sibling, and parent pressure. The series serve as a wonderful foundation to share with children and discuss the various themes elaborated through the story.
An absolute recommendation for comics and graphic novel lovers!!!
In the second book in the series, Lydia is moving up in the ranks in the tournament. She feels that victory is in her reach until a villain threatens to ruin her chances. Her best friend is captured and Lydia must decide if she will go or stay.
I though this book was a bit lackluster. I feel like they used the word "wrassle" way too much. It got annoying and I was wondering if the author knew other words. At first, I thought the background bubble noise was funny but, after a few bubbles it was annoying filler that didn't add to the story. Like the previous book, the scenes can randomly back and forth with no indication. It made the story feel choppy at times. I feel like this second book was a completely unnecessary and the story could have been completed in two book instead of three.
The story continues and Lydia is more determined than ever to continue rising in the ranks of wrestling. She’s just as determined to rescue her best friend and free her brother.
More fun, some problem solving and lots of exciting wrestling matches made this reader happy I continued with the series.

A fun all ages story about a medieval kingdom obsessed with wrassling. Lydia has had to learn to wrassle in secret because her parents didn't approve so she trained on wrassling bears in the forest. She's in the midst of a wrassling tournament. Meanwhile her older brother has been thrown in jail and will be put to death if she can't receive a boon by winning the tournament. There's also a secret coup taking place by someone high up in the government which is somehow related to Lydia's brother's imprisonment. There's a lot going on but it's a really fun comic.
