In a volume that Marvel and the creators obviously want to be a bog story for the sub0franchise the 'Marvels' (Carol, Kamala, Noh-Varr, Spider-Woman, Spectrum etc...) have to come together when they are all targeted by a common dangerous protagonist! There's also the long awaited return of Binary, but not in anyway like you could imagine! Some good ideas, but it feels rushed to cover the requisite 6 comic book issues. A 7 out of 12 strong Three Star read. I'm not sure if the core idea of 'The Marvels' came from this volume or from the MCU first?

Its kind of interesting re-reading it after a year to try to get caught up with this run now and my god this story arc feels so awesome, like okay the start like I said previously is sort of shaky but then when you see the rest of the Marvel aka her family (superhero families you know) being targeted by these suits and Vox Supreme and what she does to fight them is epic, and sure its a good sequel to "The last avenger" arc but I wish they explored Vox supreme more like flesh him out a bit more but then again its less the action, more the hero and the plot is just a chance to bring her family together and I really like how Avengers and Guardians both come in and it makes for a blockbuster arc and I just loved it!

The art was good here finally and it leads to some new status quo like I said which should be fun to explore in the next volume!

This felt so epic omg!

So its an okayish book by the end but starts off pretty strongly and you feel the tension like the guy who we are thinking is back, is he back and all the dilemmas and really I love the way the previous stories inform this one as we move towards the main crux of the conflict and the coming of Vox-supreme and these sludge aliens and yeah we dont get the answer to what they are but I think it was more about the threats they represented to Carol's friend and how she fights them off. Its an interesting dilemma and just feels like the start of a long story and I like the inclusion of Binary and it will be interesting to explore her in future volumes plus the art was so epic and cute, I loved it nd the team up in the end! <3!

Vox Supreme has returned and now he's forcing anyone who's ever taken on the Marvel mantle into his suits. Lots of epic fight scenes. I like how Thompson brought back Binary. I'm curious to see where that goes. Sergio Davila's art is very good.

3.5 stars. So someone in that all black suit Carol had in vol 3 has attacked Carol. That can only mean one thing, Vox Supreme is back. This time he is rounding up everyone who has used the “Marvel” name. Ms Marvel, the various different Captain Marvels etc. The story ended up being solid. A lot of heroes show up to help as Vox has collected several people and trapped them in these suits. A lot of action and the art was solid throughout.

Me ha gustado pero sentí que todo se sintió demasiado apresurado. La comedia siempre on point tho.

When an assailant in a familiar looking black suit attacks Carol, she finds herself in the crosshairs of the horrific Vox Supreme once again. But this time she's not the only target - anyone who has worn the mantle of Marvel is on the menu!

I've decried Kelly Thompson's Captain Marvel run for rehashing old ground, but while this new arc includes the return of Vox Supreme, this is anything but a retelling of The Last Avenger. The Marvel characters' rich histories are on full display, and Thompson uses their relationships with one another to bring them together against Vox in a truly satisfying way. Carol always comes across as a solitary character, but this series has gone out of its way to ensure readers are reminded of the fact that she's a lynchpin in the Marvel universe on Earth and beyond.

Sergio Davila steps up as the artist for this arc, and does an admirable job. There are lots of space locales and characters involved, but Davila never cuts corners or turns in unfinished work; another Marvel rising star I think, especially after this arc and the latest Black Knight mini.

Carol's latest adventure looks familiar on the surface but is definitely the next step in Kelly Thompson's ongoing story. With lovely art and a massive heart at the centre of it, this is what Captain Marvel is all about.

It's hard to ignore a title like The Last of the Marvels. It promises many things – a peek at other characters with the Marvel moniker. A threat. And even...hope? It's hard to explain how this title made me feel; mere words don't feel like enough.

Captain Marvel Vol.7 was written by Kelly Thompson. At this point, Thompson is one of my favorite Marvel writers. She is also one of my favorite Captain Marvel authors, which I feel is saying something.

Working alongside Thompson, we have Takeshi Miyazawa (art), Sergio Davila (pencils), Sean Parsons (inks), Roberto Poggi (inks), Ian Herring (colors), Jesus Aburtov (colors), Erick Arciniega (colors), and VC's Clayton Cowles (letters).

The Last of the Marvels is a lot. It's the first big adventure after Carol and Rhodey worked things out (if you don't know what that is about, check out volume 6!), and thus it should have offered Carol a break. Only we know that's never going to happen, right? This woman is a workaholic, and the universe always finds a way to demand her help. It looks like an enemy is not as gone as we had thought, and he's making big moves.

Writing
Captain Marvel Vol.7: The Last of the Marvels is a lot, and I mean that in a good way. Kelly Thompson has packed SO much into this narrative that it can take a bit to digest all of it. Granted, most fans might have gone into it feel a little emotionally compromised/sappy since Carol and Rhodey are back together again (spoiler alert?). I don't know about you, but that is something my heart needed.

At a glance, it may seem like there are a couple of plots weaving through this volume. However, once you crest the main plot arc, it suddenly starts to make sense. How it all connects, and how we got here. Yes, I still have questions, but I do not doubt that Thompson will answer those in the future (likely soon, given some of the covers I've been seeing).

Personally, I never felt like the Vox Supreme threat was over, so it was satisfying to see him come back around. Only this time, the Avengers and everyone else got to work WITH Carol, which felt like justice, if that makes sense. There were a lot of satisfying moments that stemmed from this fact, which I'm sure Kelly Thompson included for the sake of the fans.

A few major surprises were thrown into the mix, which I won't spoil for readers. I cannot wait to see the implications of these moments or where they will ultimately lead. Things like this are why I love Captain Marvel's plots so much.

Artwork
The artwork in Captain Marvel Vol.7: The Last of the Marvels is perfection, if I may say so. I've always loved the bolder colors of her series, but I feel like they were taken to a whole new level in this volume. Though perhaps that is the contrast (both literally and figuratively).

Working on this volume, we have Sergio Davila (pencils), Takeshi Miyazawa (artist), Sean Parsons (inks), Roberto Poggi (inks), Ian Herring (colors), Jesus Aburtov (colors), Erick Arciniega (colors) and VC's Clayton Cowles (letters). It's a huge crew, but the payout is so worth it.

The colors are arguably my favorite part, obviously. There's a lot of depth to them while still having that eye-catching element that I adore. Then there's the artwork itself. I'm a massive sucker for cameos, and there are a ton here. As a fan of many of the characters gracing these pages, I have to say that the collective artists did a fantastic job representing them all. Likewise, I enjoyed seeing the different minor renditions of the Vox suits. It was a nice touch.

Conclusion
Fans of Captain Marvel should absolutely make a point of reading Captain Marvel Vol.7: The Last of the Marvels. There are many different parts of this story that could ultimately make big waves in Marvel continuity, so I would keep my eyes on where this one goes.

Captain Marvel story is expanding and I am becoming a big fan of her comics and her character.. When I saw that this has to do about all the Marvels I was hesitant that the the focus will be only on them then Carol Danvers who this comic is about. But it was not each character had their input in the story but did took the focus off Carol Danvers. The only thing that still confuse me is the new character that is binary an alternative version of Carol Danvers power. It seems she is sentient now and a character of her own. Lastly something is bothering me supposedly how strong is this Binary character now? Its is stated that she has the powers of the phoenix force and i presume mar-vell. Hope to be able to read the next installment of this series because I believe that the next volume is about Carol use of magic to take away Oves magic and has to answer to the magical community for it and the new character binary is going to take the helm on helping people in New York while she is trapped in the magical prison.

Continues to be a solid book with solid storytelling. But this arc dragged on. And the big bag seems a bit generic to me. I liked the reintroduction of Binary, though.

3.5 Stars.
This title seems to be addicted to the Vox Supreme character as a villain. I don't really like the idea of the character, so when we get an entire Volume dedicated to fighting them, it feels semi wasteful to me. Then again, the writers and artists are dedicated to the story so it has a nice flow and contains nothing that is boring, just feels somewhat "same old, same old".
Highlights:
- Again Carol and Rhodey try to go on vacation together, and again they are interrupted by something that requires their specific attention.
- The first threat (who ultimately is responsible for the second) is a being called Sludge, who is made up of the waste in the runoff from Kree-Skrull Empire labs. They are able to stop him, but his not being destroyed leads to later problems.
- The majority of the story deals with the arrival of Vox Supreme. Interrupting beach time with Carol and Rhodey, Carol subdues the combatting suit and takes it to Tony who is able to remove it, unveiling Phyla-Vell, member of the Guardians and previous "Marvel".
- When the Vox suit captures Carol again, she uses a technique and separates a part of her personality to assist with her suit escape. This personality takes the name Binary, resembling that suit that Carol used to wear. (Will Binary be able to exist on her own without Carol? HOW?)
- Tracing Vox Supreme back to his base, Carol and friends start the battle to free the Marvels. Avengers step into help and by the end, Noh-Varr, Genis-Vell, and Spectrum are freed.

Overall, it was okay. The action and story helped overcome the premise.

Someone is kidnapping all the various Captain Marvel’s (part and present) and turning them in to weapons. Is Carol able to stop them?

Kelly Thompson’s run on Captain Marvel continues to be a fun and rewarding read as it hits it’s 7th volume. By this point Thompson has nailed her take on Carol and she continues to evolve as a character.
The premise is good in this volume and I really enjoyed seeing all the Captain Marvel/ and Captain Marvel adjacent characters coming together.
Pulling in the Avengers and GOTG for the last issue felt a bit unnecessary but it did provide some great splash pages.

As said before Thompson is hitting her stride with Captain Marvel and hopefully there’s many more to come.

This series is so running out of steam. With Ove defeated and Carol's relationship with Rhodey restored, what is there to do but go fight the villain from an earlier volume in the series? Naturally, Carol needs the help of all the other Marvels because Vox Supreme is using the power of an entire planet to fuel his sludge clones!

The Last of the Marvels is suitably exciting and well-crafted, but it's very been-there, done-that. The return (?) of Binary is neat - a second Captain Marvel composed of pure light and power!

Carol and Rhodey are trying to vacation but then have to go fight someone in a very familiar black suit. The Vox Supreme is back and is now hunting down those who also carry the mantle of Marvel. She has to team up to save them and defeat the Vox Supreme yet again.

This was fine honestly but really not my favorite. I love the black suit and the whole thing with targeting the Marvels but the whole thing was just leading to a big fight featuring the Avengers and it just wasn't that interesting to me.

Carol making Binary was dope as shit though.

This is totally The Marvels before the movie. But our big bad is still Vox Supreme (if the cover didn't already give it away), but this time he's gathering different Captain Marvel characters as part of his evil plan. The suits seem to give everyone her same abilities and it makes for a daunting challenge to face antagonists of this power level all over the place.

I appreciate this effort to sort of tie into the Marvel (or Mar-Vell) "brand" as it were and the many characters who have carried the mantle. It was a nice way to lean into the legacy while still telling a new story.

Kelly Thompson wants you to leave this story with one thing remembered. Family and friends together are unstoppable. We get all kinds of callbacks from the Captain Marvel name/family. Love those deep cuts.

It's usually Carol vs. the world, but we've seen her lean more on her friends and family these last few runs. Nice to see the character grow from that lone wolf mentality.

Bonus: Binary is....back?
Bonus Bonus: Even Hulkling has a cameo? Mar-vell family keeps on trucking

Vox Supreme is a consistently interesting foil for Carol and has wild machinations and plots to create an ideal world. Going after the Marvels creates more motivation for Carol to find and stop them. I feel like the sludge is a bit of an amalgamation of other “non sentient beings gain sentience” ideas that have showed up over the years. The introduction of Binary was very cool and I’m interested to see how Carol takes that and they move forward.

Somehow it didn't feel very epic despite the symbiote-esque suits and the huge team-up battle at the end. Maybe it's because their villain just creepily reminded me of Mister Sinister in his "I must have the DNA of Scott Summers and Jean Grey" days. They really need a sonic superhero to take care of business... Or an upgrade to Rhodey's suit.

I want to give this four stars for art and fun factor, as it calls back to the third arc of Carol's battle with Vox, but it lacked enough depth for me to not just start skimming pages by the end. Also they keep trying to make Rhodey and Carol feel real and it just doesn't. I liked seeing all the Marvel family characters in one place, that felt like someone at least tried to do some research.
