Can I go to singles week to be honest? Because it was so much fun visiting it and seeing all of them - felt like the bachelor/bachelorette show hehe.
Anyway Melody and Ryder were absolute fun to be around. The chemistry both physical and emotional, the banter (who can ever forget that), their awesome friends (can we get their stories too), and just the setting were all so damn spectacular and wonderful that my heart kinda misses all of them you know.
Makes me wish I could go back to singles week already - totally for Ryder and Melody....not at all for the single guys there....yup.
Anyway this is a short insta-love story with a HEA about a firefighter who's a workaholic, and a baker who likes the idea of love but has trouble pursuing it, and how they come together in the form of sugarcoated kisses that last forever.

Ryder thought he was going to a resort town for a week of team building exercises but quickly learned was tricked into attending a singles week. So being the player that he is Ryder decided to make the most of it and have fun with all the single ladies he could for the week. That all changed when he met Melody, the shy girl that worked at the hotel. His entire world shifted and he knew he met his forever. Melody wasn't so convinced that Ryder would be her happily ever after no matter how much she wanted that. Her thoughts were that girls like her never get guys like Ryder. But she was in for a shock - Ryder wasn't walking away. I love that Ryder didn't try to stop Melody from pursuing her dreams and he was ready to uproot his life for her. Throw in a crazy, awesome best friend and an angry ex-hookup and it was the perfect quick story.

Quick sweet, and sexy. Ryder and Melody meet and it’s an instant connection. Love how his friends banded together and what he thought would be a fun, playboy week, turns into so much more. I loved how he stood up for Melody and didn't let her push him away.

Heart Baker sets the firefighters heart on fire

Sugarcoated by AJ Alexander is part of the multi-author Kismet Cove Single's Week series. This is a cute insta-love story about Ryder and Melody. Ryder is thirty years old and a confirmed bachelor and perpetual playboy. He has been a firefighter since he graduated high school and joined. But now that more men in his fire house, and also his best friend Whitney, have found love he has been tricked into going to Kismet Cove and attending their Single's Week event. Ryder may not be happy about being tricked, as he thought he was meeting everyone for a training event, but he is planning on taking some time to relax and if that included hooking up with some of the single women then so much the better. Melody is nineteen years old and works at the Kismet Cove hotel in guest relations. She has been working at the hotel since she turned sixteen so she can save money to got to culinary school. Just a few more weeks now and she will be on her way to becoming a professional bakery/patisserie with plans to take over her grandmothers bakery in town, Heart Baker. What neither Ryder nor Melody were expecting was to have cupid put a gigantic arrow straight through their hearts when they see each other. But with a rule that employees are not allowed to get involved with guests will they be able to act on their attraction. There is also one other surprise for Ryder lurking and waiting for him in the hotel
This is a very white hot and sexually explosive story. It is a good thing that Ryder is a firefighter as he knows how to put out the sparks but really they just become fireworks. The story-line is OTT, insta-lust/love with some humor and drama woven in. I liked the characters and the supporting characters helped to move the story along. But for me there was a disjoint at times as the story jumped from one thing to another a few times, leaving me a bit perplexed. The book also needs another visit with a good proofreader as there are a lot of easily spotted errors, everything from the wrong character name used, wrong word, punctuation issues, missing words and more. The number of these annoyed me, as I always allow a few but only mention this issue when there are a lot. It was still a cute story and if you don't mind the proofreading issue then it will be a delicious, Sugarcoated read.

Plenty of heat and steam from THIS firefighter in Kismet Cove!
Author AJ Alexander has again filled my lunchtime reading with a hot and spicy morsel in the form of her insta-love novellas, this one belonging to the wider release world of Kismet Cove. Ms Alexander doesn’t shy away from dirty talk and plenty of action, so as always, I advise readers of her books to have their back to a wall, otherwise people can’t help looking over your shoulder to see just what it is that will have you all hot under the collar.
Believe me when I say that your male workmates just can’t help themselves when it comes to checking out your reading material, and 100% guaranteed, their dirty eyes will gravitate to the dirtiest phrases possible on any particular page, reading them out loud for the entertainment of the smoko room. True story!
And in SUGARCOATED there was plenty to get all steamed up about in this hot and seasoned firefighter who falls arse-over-kite when he sees Melody, a hardworking young lady at a resort that he’d been tricked into attending. Yes, the story is fast moving because this is a novella, yet Ms Alexander doesn’t waste words on flowery prose, they’re saved for the heat and steam, a side of self depreciating humour from Ryder himself and enough to provide a great backdrop to the wider atmosphere surrounding the world of Kismet Cove.
I’ll also point out that familiar readers will recognise Melody and Harrison, another age-gap couple from Ms Alexander’s novella, ADORED BY HARRISON, so if they intrigue you, check that book out on your next lunch break.
Great and entertaining reading, and lasts longer than your lunchtime cup of coffee, only sweeter and without the calories! Ryder thought he was going away for a weekend with some of his fellow firefighters, when he gets the shock of his life and ends at singles week. Thinking he’ll have some fun jumping around, gets ixnayed when he lays eyes on Melody.
I loved how hard and fast Ryder fell for Melody. I’m all about the insta love. This was a well written story and I fell for the characters. I throughly recommend.

This is Kismet Cove Single's Week book with Ryder the firefighter who is tricked by his friends into attending a singles week at the resort and Melody, the inspiring baker that currently works at the resort. Their chemistry is instant and off the charts. The book is a pleasure to read.

When Ryder was tricked into a singles week at Kismet Cove he never imagined falling in love. From the moment Ryder sees Melody he is instantly attracted to her but there's a problem she's not there for a singles week she works at the resort. This is an insta love story with likable characters and a sweet happily ever after. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

This is a quick fun book to read. I enjoyed the well written story line. Great characters with plenty of spark, romance and chemistry. I liked the fun banter and the quirky side characters. Just enough steam and romance.

I really liked how the author built up the relationship between the two main characters. The chemistry between the two main characters is steamy and intense. I recommend this book and would read more books by this author. Enjoyable and worth the time. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Ryder through he was on a team building event for work but finds out that the men from his fire station set him up on a singles week! They think he should find the one woman and settle down! But instead of getting angry he goes along with it and figures he’d find a woman or two to see while he’s there. But he sees Melody who’s an employee of the hotel and knows that she’s the one. She’s off limits as she’s working plus she isn’t the figure that all the men want to chase as she’s got curves. Ryder goes up to her and asks her out. She says she can’t but eventually agrees to see him later, will this lead to something more that both really want? I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

I thought that this was a really good book. I really liked Melody and Ryder together. The connection and the chemistry between these two was awesome. It was getting an update on Harrison and Whitney from Adored by Harrison with this book. I thought it was awesome that Ryder was knocked off his high horse when he gets is first glimpse of Melody. I thought Melody was really sweet and was great for Ryder. I really enjoyed this book and I would recommend it and Ms. A.J. as a must read author.

This a great addition to the series it has been developed with plenty of chemistry throughout the pages between the characters. The flow of the storyline kept me entertained with the twists and turns throughout the pages.

This book is good! It plays off of AJ’s book Adored by Harrison and I really enjoyed both. This is an age gap romance, though I didn’t think the age gap was as extreme as other books. Ryder has been guilted into a singles event at a resort, and it’s easier to go then to try to get out of it. Melody is working one last summer to pay for tuition for school. When these two meet, it’s fireworks from the beginning! I recommend this book.

Maybe find more than one or two women over the next week. Then he sees Melody, she works for the hotel and mingling with the guests is off limits.

Ryder and Melody are an insta-love couple. Because when you know, you know…. And no amount of denying it can prevent that little arrow from Cupid. Not even a crazy boss from hell who also hash her sights set on Ryder and uses manipulation and deception to throw a wrench in the couples blossoming romance.
This was a quick read, with an instant attraction, an older man, younger woman, but plenty of heat…. And a Happy-ending. And the bonus is catching up with Whitney and Harrison from Adoring Harrison.
