A mysterious psychopath with godlike powers has suddenly appeared in OtherWorld.
And every time he destroys an entire city, he leaves behind a calling card: a riddle.
With the help of a few old friends, Ian, Alaria, and Stig set out to discover who he is and what he wants.
But in order to stop him, they’ll have to play his twisted little game…
…and not everyone will make it out alive.
WARNING: This is a book featuring hot women, sexy times, demons, warlocks, violence, and profanity. If you’re an old granny lady who’s going to clutch your pearls every time somebody drops their pants, this book is not for you.
If you haven't read this series from the beginning you really should. Each book is intriguing with its storytelling. It's funny, it's charming, it's sexy, and it's hot! This series isn't like a lot of gamelit in that it doesn't focus on the MC leveling up as the main component. Rather, it focuses mainly on telling the story and the leveling up and advancements made by the characters are components in the story.
This book moves at a frantic pace spanning nearly all corners of Otherworld. A new and deadly opponent, A few reunions with old acquaintances, and some new acquaintances are introduced. A very good read that everyone should enjoy.
Why? well for example, the previous two books had excellent ex-masters: Zali and Peenocchio - which brought a huge amount of humour to books 6 and 7. Here we don't get that and it's absence in my mind is noticeable.
The riddles given I figured out way before Ian which frustrated, and thinking back on the book, I'm not entirely sure the story made that much sense. Certainly the riddles didn't really add anything.
To be clear though, I do really love this series and look forward to each new release. Lets hope book 9 gets back on track.
But all good things are worth waiting for. Ian, Alaria, Stig, and the rest of the crew usually take you for a pretty wild ride, and this adventure is no different. Well, it IS different than their other adventures…but not because it’s a wild ride…but IS because they face a new, all-powerful enemy…but NOT because they….oh, just read the book, will ya? You’ll like it, and that’s NOT different.
Firstly, I love this series. I would love it even without all the kinky stuff. It is just an amazing story. I will say I am sad to see it will wrap up in the next one, but I suppose it was always coming. As for this one, it took a twist I never saw coming. And I loves it. Looking forward to the next one.
The pace is quick, the timing is well done, the interaction between the characters is complex and realistic. The scenario created, along with the cliffhanger at the end sets the stage for the next book. Well done, sir!
A decent entry in the series. In what seems to be a theme with the series, the last chapter abruptly wraps up a lot of events far too quickly. As number eight in the series, it seems a lot of this story was simply set up for number nine.
As a book that would be considered fluff, the story is riveting. So much action, actual horror, and amazing sexy play . A perfect storm of grown-up entertainment!
Wow Ian and his Army fought off an interesting character this time. Some didn’t make it back. But I’m sure He and his ladies will make it work and continue on somehow. Can’t wait thanks for writing
I couldn't Stop reading as it got intense right from the begining. I almost didn't like The end because i thought the series was ending And it was a pretty crapy ending but when it clarify That it was not the end i like ir better lol
Enjoyable, funny, exciting, and just an overall great read, well worth the time to pick it up and read. Very interested in seeing what A.J. comes up with next!
I loved this seris. Normally the quality of later volumes of a series get weaker and often seems rushed, not so with this story arc. Just when I thought I had it figured out, it would spiral off into a different direction,
Another great adventure with Ian and Alaria. There’s some actual stakes and some unseen twists. As always great fun and looking forward to seeing more.
Worst of the Series by Far Vaarkus' and Peenochio’s gangs remnants are terrorizing the city of Exardus
Meera, Alaria and Ian on his magic carpet patrolling city
Warlock Academy, leveling up. Ian chooses Hell’s Pont specialization.
Starts finding old haunts destroyed, and vague clues left behind. And neither Ian or Alaria can recall the names of the last two masters to be killed as part of the over qrching quest of the series. Revisiting all of the old stories and characters is fun, Tarka pirate ex-master, demon pirates (Krug), ice elves (Eluun) etc.
Back in the real world meets Luna, in the art department. Funny wildly inappropriate work place dialogue. The company is being bought by Russians.
Building up riddles from each location of a former battle or important event. Riddles pretty vague and or unsolvable and rely a lot on knowledge of pop culture, literature and other sources outside of the book.
Ian has numerous "tantrums" in real life complaining about game design. Extremely argumentative and obnoxious, the kind of person you would hate to work with.
Finally catches up with the evil warlock and his fleet of black pirate airships. Apparently the enemy is in cooperation with the dungeon guild.
Far too often things are described as being similar to other things from pop culture e.g. the bad guy is like this particular bad guy in Star Wars etc.
Nix the evil necromancer warlock starts revealing that he knows things that a normal NPC in a game wouldn’t know.
Big 20 ship aerial naval battle.
Spoiler: Final conclusion of riddle quest the 9th master is Ian. duh.
Ian has a tantrum in real life about game design, everyone thinks the game AI went rogue.
Good story plot, adult scenes were weak, and all ruined by a constant need to shove PAGES of real-world references into the story and explain every one of them. Just read all the dialogue and you will have the best version of the book.
