Australian convict Alexandra Sinclair, an English aristocrat accused of crime she did not commit, is irresistibly drawn to arrogant, rakish American Jonathan Hazard, who rescues her from the factory prison but who has passionate plans for his captive.
Enjoyed it. Although I was irritated how the h was so stubborn and short tempered at times. The H was perfect. He was all in for the h since he first saw her. Perfect obsessed hero.
I don’t really feel an iota of happiness coming from the pages. The romance feels forced with no romantic nuances and depths at all. The hero is borderline obsessive over heroine while the heroine seems a bit too spunky for my taste.
This book epitomises everything about 90’s romance ; it really goes overboard with your typical tropes of arguments, misunderstandings, a resounding ‘I hate you’ while hurling insults and spewing verbal abuse. Even the lovemaking doesn’t stir anything within me. I’ve also lost count of how many times the hero yanks heroine up to his length and forces his kisses on her everytime they argue. It gets old after a few times.
