3.5 stars. This one was a struggle for me. It was written for a very specific audience, being strict science fiction fans, which I am not a part of. But Edward McFadden gave a good effort. An intricate story with a nice combination of action, prehistoric creatures of all shapes and sizes (The bat creature was my favorite.), and everything had a decent balance. I did feel like it dragged at times and I almost wished for more action, but, again, that may just be because I’m not the ideal audience here. Not my favorite book by this author, but I think others readers may have some better takeaways than me.

Disappointing Dinos On Mars Mysterious Adventure.

Six Mars astronauts investigating a strange anomaly discover a kind of lost kingdom biosphere inhabited by living dinosaurs. Who built it? How old is it? What keeps it running? How do they get the he'll out of there before they all die? The eventual answers to these questions are handled in a rather prosaic manner and the book as a whole is a kind of by the numbers tale flatly told and kind of boring. I found it kind of boring.

dino/outer space mash up

Interesting take on dinosaurs being discovered within Mars. 6 astronauts enter a biosphere not known of by humans. What they find is mind blowing. I live a god dino book, "The Martian" one of my favorite reads. Why only 3 stars? Because an author with as many books under his belt as McFadden should be a better writer, or at least find a better editor. Too many duplicate descriptive phrases. Tasi, the big dino, the atmosphere, to name a few, are described almost a word for word in subsequent chapters. When are fat and grease two different things rendered from an animal? How does ones insides scream? And this really bugs me. The author is writing like an American, describing something using an American football analogy. Why use meters and not feet? Climb a tree and get 150 meters above the ground? That's almost 500 feet.
McFadden needs someone to proof/edit his writing. I thought I was reading a first novel.

Dinosaur Red is a book with a fun premise and the author clearly put a lot of thought into the story itself. At the same time, the plot feels a bit disjointed and the characters aren’t really taken advantage of. The writing didn’t really work for me and the resolution felt lackluster. I wish the author had done a little bit more with the idea and used the dinosaurs as more than just the occasional obstacle in the story. The book is a quick, easy read, however, so if you’re looking for something like that, this book wouldn’t be a bad choice.

Definitely better then the other related book.

This book seems to be linked to “throwback” which was the about the space station being thrown back in time. At least explained the machine they came across in that book.
This book I had a hard time getting into but was interesting enough that I got through it. And this book at least was better written then “throwback”

Not so good

General idea is pretty good but the rest, not so much. Basically a bunch of people wandering around. No plot.
