He'd be a fool to let her leave without putting his mark on her.

Aiden Savage was happy with his life and his booming tattoo business. He thought he had it all until the night Gracie Franklin arrived at the shop asking for a tattoo. Then he realized exactly what he’d been missing. She was everything he could ever want in a woman, and he couldn’t just let her go. He broke the cardinal rule that night—he touched a client—but he couldn’t keep his hands off her.

After one night, he started thinking about their future, but he never dreamed that she would leave him and Whiskey Run. He spent nine months searching for her and when she showed back up, she had the surprise of a lifetime for him. Now he’s going to do whatever it takes to protect his woman, his baby, and their future.

Virile is the first book in the Whiskey Run: Savage Ink Series. If you love age gap, alpha men, secret baby, and second chance romance, then you’ll love Aiden and Gracie’s story.

The couple: Aiden and Gracie

Romance trope: insta-love
Series: Whiskey Run: Savage Ink
Length: 100 pages

Plot: Gracie is eighteen but her father still runs her life. She wants to get out of Whiskey Run but has no idea how she'll accomplish that. She's going to start her rebellion though by getting a tattoo. When she goes to the other side of town, she walks into Aiden's tattoo parlor, and he is instantly smitten. But her father isn't going to let her go without a fight.

Commentary: At first I thought her father might just be controlling, but it turns out he was ! That has to be the worst, discovering that your own child might be in danger from your father. I was really glad that Aiden wasn't too mad at her for leaving, because I don't think my heart could have taken a prolonged separation after she got back!

Next book in the series: Torrid

Series: Whiskey Run: Savage Ink Book 1 (Stand Alone but connected)
Ending: HEA
Re-read? Yes

“Do you have a man?” I ask her gruffly, but even if she says yes, I’m not going to give her up. He’s obviously not a good man if he let her come here on her own.

I have been waiting for the story of Aiden and Gracie since “Devoted”, book five if the Whiskey Run series, came out. Hope for has a way with this series of teasing me with just the right amount that I can’t wait for the next installment. It works even with this offshoot of the original series.

Aiden and Gracie fall in insta-love and share an amazing night together. Afterwards, Gracie promptly disappears from Aiden’s life. He just can’t seem to get over her and move on he knows that she’s the one for him.

Unbeknownst to Aiden, Gracie runs to try to save him from her corrupt and evil father, the mayor of Whiskey Run. When she’s finally ready to return to town and face Aiden and with the surprise she has for him, she get’s waylaid and Aiden is summoned to her in the hospital.

The two are great together. I don’t usually care for romances where the MCs spend a large chunk of time apart but this worked really well. I understood Gracie’s motivation and even though I think she should have just told Aiden, she was young and was doing her best to protect him.

I already can’t wait for the next book in this series. Violet may have just had a baby but she’s already back to her matchmaking ways. I need to find her and get her to work on my love life!

3 quick and dirty stars.

I'm just starting to dive in to this author. I love me a quick novella, but good ones are hard to come by, and I think this author just might hit the mark for me.

I'm going to dive into a few more of her books and see where it takes me.

Cute and short. The summary was essentially the whole book. This was like a 45 minute read. But those 45 minutes packed quite a punch. A lot happened and you got a nice, complete, satisfying story with little time investment

A great start to this new series. Aiden is the bad boy tattoo artist and Gracie has been the good girl. She’s determined to break free of that image and start doing what she’s wants. When Gracie walks into Savage Ink and sees Aiden it’s love at first sight for both of them. This was an awesome read. It has older bad boy younger good girl, heartbreak, love at first sight and sizzling chemistry. The characters were genuine and had an instant connection that didn’t waver while apart. A must read. I received an arc copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I love the guys of Savage Ink

Growly, protective and possessive in all the best ways, but not matter how good Violet's matchmaking is, Aiden and Gracie have to fight corruption, betrayal and blackmail before they can begin their HEA.
I am gutted for Aiden that he has to wait, having no idea where Gracie is before he finally finds her again, but it is worth every day he had to wait to have his girls safely in his arms...forever. Gracie has always lived under strict rules but those rules hide a number of shadows and horrifying acts being carried out far too close to home, her fear becomes terror when she realises just how much danger she and Aiden are in.
I really enjoyed this Whiskey Run spin off book and look forward to more books in the series. I read this on Kindle Unlimited.

I loved it despite all the insta everything and the OTT hero.

Because the truth is that Aiden is a sweetheart.
And I liked Gracie.
And their story.

And I'm pretty sure that Ms Ford was singing this after she finished Virile.

Aiden is a tattoo artist that is kind of content with his life. Little does he know that the right woman would change everything. Gracie came to get a tattoo but got so much more😉 A sweet, steamy, romantic and safe story with a HEA and a surprise as well😍😍😍

Short, steamy instalove…..Might’ve worked better fleshed out as a full-length story. It felt like there was too much crammed in too quickly.

Insta-love and an evil father don’t mix …

This is the first story in the Savage Ink spin-off of the Whiskey Run series. While it can be read as a stand-alone, I recommend the original series be in publication date first for maximum reader satisfaction. There are some reoccurring characters, including the town matchmaker and diner owner, Violet.

Just like the original series, this one is also a very fast read, with a surprising amount of detail built in. I just love series that have multiple contributions / branches, as the continuity really breathes life into everything … plus it is good to see Violet still play a part even while in labor. 🥰

I mention the following for readers such as myself that visualize the story as it is read, because errors interrupt the flow. I only noticed one incorrect word choice, so grammatically this is really solid.

⛔️ Contains scenes that may be a trigger or offensive for sensitive readers. These include adult language; mental health challenges with depression, anxiety, mental abuse of a child under 18, etc.; adult intimate scenes, and violence such as kidnapping / abduction, human trafficking of females and children, blackmail, threats, etc.

Here is how the story begins:

Gracie is looking for her first taste of freedom by doing something now that she is finally eighteen years old. She knows she doesn’t have a lot of time before her father gets home, but because she doesn’t know when she would get another chance. So Gracie travels as fast as she can to the other side of town and enters the tattoo shop.

Aiden is in the back and wants nothing more than to close up and relax with a shot or two of whiskey. Then he hears the bell on the door and calls out that they are closed as he walks back up front. Then his jaw about touches his chest when he sees the beautiful, but clearly innocent beauty in front of him. His attraction hits him sideways. From the look on her face, the feeling is mutual. It is all Aiden can do to not touch her and pull her against his body. He has never been inappropriate with a client, so he might be in big trouble here …

After some flirting and banter back and forth that highlights her innocence even more, Gracie shows Aiden the design she wants. Aiden looks at her design and asks if he can look at the rest of her drawings. Gracie says yes and is nervous to have anyone else look at them. She only showed her father one sketch and he ripped it in half. Since then no one has seen them.

While Aiden is looking, Gracie is nervous and can’t help thinking about what happened. She really thought she would be able to get away from her father when she went to college across the country. Then he contacted them, declined her full ride scholarship and enrolled her into the local community college, all so she could live at home. He even has a tracker on Gracie’s car, which is why she had to ride public transportation tonight.

After looking at her art, Aiden is really impressed with her ability. Gracie is really talented. Now he just needs to know where she wants to place it. She explains that she can’t get it any place that will be seen while in her swim suit, as her father would not like it. Gracie makes it clear that he is not someone she wants to disappoint. It seems like he controls everything as it relates to her.

Then Aiden realizes that he is in bigger trouble than he thought when Gracie shows him where she wants him to place it … She might be innocent but she is clearly effected by him, as her white undergarments clearly show …

Fast forward to the end of the tattoo … Aiden drives her home and the two of them share a first kiss a couple of houses down from her father’s. Gracie agreed to meet Aiden the next night and she is beyond relieved when he is not home yet. She goes straight to her room and can’t get over how different she feels … Then her father enters her room and is livid … he knows about Aiden.

Enjoyment: 4/5
Dark Level: 0/5
Sexual Level: GOOD

Male: Tatted & Sexy
Series: Book 1

STORY:
I didn’t think the continuation of Whiskey Run could get any better and with this second series and reading book 1, I am here for it. Honestly, this is 68 pages, but I got a full-blown story at a fast pace, and It didn’t feel like 68 pages.

Aiden’s and Gracie’s story was sweet and sexy rolled into one. Aiden is a tattoo artist and well experience. He definitely got bit by the love at first site bug. When you mix his experience with Gracie’s innocence and coyness, it came out perfectly, as both characters compliments each other. Watching them interact the moment Gracie entered into his store, to the very last page, I was excited about this story.

SEXUAL CHEMISTRY:
I enjoyed their sexual chemistry. I selfishly wanted more, but it’s a quickie read, so I’m satisfied.

SECONDARY CHARACTERS:
Ok, so even with a baby, Violet is still at work. I CAN NOT WAIT, to read Treyton’s story. He is the silent type, so this will be interesting. I wish I could read it now!!! I hope Dawson will have a story as well. After Savage Ink, we need to keep Whiskey Run alive, cops next.

OVERALL:
A sweet and nice quickie read. Waiting patiently on book 2.

TRIGGERS:

****I don’t equate these stories to real life. It’s about personal taste and what you would or want to tolerate with the books you read. I know we all have different opinions and preferences with what we read. I based my book reviews on my preferences and what I like, and while these preferences may not be the same for others, I hope this review was still helpful.

Quick, easy read. Age-gap, insta-lust/love, one night, secret baby, second chance love, HEA.

Gracie lived a very sheltered life, hidden away by her father who was the mayor of their town. He controlled every aspect of her life, even refusing the scholarship she was granted to go away to college and instead signed her up to the local community collage to keep her under his thumb. On her eighteenth birthday, while he's out, she gets bold and walks to the other side of town to a tatoo shop to have one of her drawings tatooed on herself. Once she walks through that door her life changes. Aiden is just as insta-love struck as Gracie but with her father's eyes everywhere, he finds out she was with him and threatens to destroy him if she sees him again. To make it worse, her father sends her away until school starts to her aunt - out of Aiden's reach. Poor Aiden searches for her but finds no sign of her until he gets a call from a friend with urgent information. He races to the hospital to get the shock of his life - Gracie in labor, and he's going to be a dad. Once they reconnect, hurts are exposed, truths shared, plans made and they finally get their HEA.

I didn't dislke the story but I wish there would have been more depth to it. A lot of activity happend off-page, in the background and I think it would have made a stronger story to bring everything into the book. A bit more drama, more information/backstory on her father, the investigation, reconnecting with her aunt, etc. Just little things here and there that would have made the read stronger.

This is book is part of the Whiskey Run: Savage Ink series why just read one when you can start at the beginning and keep reading through the series it won’t be a waste of time. Sometimes you think you have it all until fate steps in and opens your eyes that is the case for sexy as all get out tattoo artist Aiden, he has the success, loves his work and by all accounts wonderful. Gracie is a good girl, wants to live her life by her choices but being controlled by her father so on her 18th birthday she decides to get a tattoo of her drawing and meets the man of her dreams. The chemistry is instant and intense, the magnetic pull can’t be ignored and after one night together fireworks go off for them both. Once her father finds out and threatens to ruin Aiden and his business, she does what she told back to her aunt’s house until she returns to college in the fall. But Aiden isn’t going to let that stop him, he knows what and who he wants and willing to do what it takes to get/keep her will she trust him, what happen with her father, can she finally have happiness?

Entertaining and sweet

Virile is the first book in the Whiskey Run: Savage Ink series which is a spin-off from the original Whiskey Run series by Hope Ford. The story introduces the reader to Aiden Savage, a tattoo artist who owns his own shop in Whiskey Run. Grace Franklin has just turned eighteen years old and wants to spread her wings and try new things. But with her father being the Mayor of Whiskey Run that is difficult, as he is not only overprotective but always plotting something. But she is able to do one thing before he finds out about it, she sneaks out and ends up at Savage Ink to get a tattoo. That is where Aiden and Grace meet and it is sparks flying along with the tattoo gun needles. But their connection is to be short lived when her dad sends her away right quick leaving Aiden and Grace with no way to communicate. Will they ever see each other again? You betcha they will and there will be more than a little surprise in store when they do.

This was a nice first story in the new series. It spins off of the Whiskey Run series in a good way and introduces the reader to the world of Savage Ink and some of it's characters. I liked the insta-love connection between Aiden and Grace but I have to say that there was something missing in it to me. Nothing bad but just not completely mind-blowing. I still enjoyed this book and am looking forward to the rest of this new series.

Virile is the first book in a new series, it is Aiden and Gracie's story.

Although Aiden comes from a family that is well off, he prefers to do make it on his own. Gracie just turned eighteen, her father is the Mayor and has been very strict with her. Wanting to do something for her she head to "that" side of town with her notebook. When Gracie walks in to Savage Ink she is stunned by the man in front of her, Aiden was tired and ready to close up shop when Gracie walk in and took his break away.

When Gracie returns from the tattoo shop, she is confront by her father, who has eye everywhere. Her father threatens to destroy Aiden if she goes near him again, and is planning to send her away. Wanting to say good, Gracie and Aiden spend a passionate moment together before he leave.

Their story is filled with heat, passion, lust, danger, pain, and fear with twist and turns that will have you on the edge of your seat wanting to know what will happen next. The truth about her father, the connections of Aiden's family will have you dazed in your seat.

Looking forward to this series.

Hope Ford spins off her Whiskey Run series with Whiskey Run: Savage Ink, and the first book is Virile, the perfect description of its leading man, Aiden! Gracie has just turned eighteen, and the daughter of the mayor, has been controlled and sheltered her whole life. In an act of rebellion, she heads to the one tattoo parlour in town to give herself a birthday present. Aiden Savage owns Savage Ink, and has a reputation that draws customers from counties all around Whiskey Run to have his work tattooed on their body. When the young, beautiful Gracie walks through the door of his shop, he knows his life is forever changed and that he is going to mark her with more than his tattoo gun. Gracie has never felt anything like she feels for the sexy, older Aiden. Unfortunately, there are forces at work to keep them apart. But when you've met your soulmate... Gracie is super sweet, and Aiden is the perfect mix of overprotective alpha and romantic hero. Hope Ford writes wonderful, sweet and steamy instalove, and this kick off to her newest series is no exception!

The Whiskey Run series of books are great. They are quick reads with instant love and a HEA. But there is always a bump in the road to overcoming. The men are all alpha and protective of their women. If you enjoy all that then any of the Whiskey Run books are for you.

Aiden found his one in Gracie and in less than 24 hours he knew he would never let her go. But Gracie's father is controlling and evil and before they have a chance to get off the ground he sends Gracie away.

Aiden pines for Gracie and searched high and low even staking out her dad but nothing, she is just gone. Suddenly his friend Tate calls with news Gracie is at the hospital nearby in Jasper he drops everything to get to her.

This is not how Gracie wanted to come back into Aiden's life and maybe he will hate her for what she needed to do but right now she needs him more than he'll know. Shocked on his arrival to find Gracie about to give birth Aiden wants to be mad at her but he can't stop but loving her just as he did that first day.

When Gracie spills her story Aiden goes into protector mode. Her Dad will never get in their way again and for what he's done he'll pay.

Love all the Whiskey Run books and this one fits right in. The mayor is very dirty and his daughter Gracie has been kept secluded and tracked her whole life. On her eighteenth birthday, she walks to the other side of town to get a tattoo of one of her art designs, totally craving freedom. She meets Aiden Savage at Savage Tattoo and he loves her designs. They both fall hard and fast but get caught by a neighbor when he drives her home, so her dad banishes her to her aunt in Kentucky, swearing he will destroy Aiden if she sees him again.
The characters are terrific, strong and determined. The storyline has great depth and backstories that make them feel like friends. Suspense in dealing with her father, and twists such as finding out who the uncle of Aiden is when they need help. The biggest surprise is what happens after nine months of desperately trying to find Gracie. The ending was perfect, and the epilogue as well. Can not wait for the next story.

Aiden is the good looking tattoo bad boy. Gracie is the proverbial good girl. Together they are fire. Gracie decides to rebel a little on her 18th birthday. Always being kept in line by her Mayoral father she just can’t stand it anymore. She takes her drawing to Savage Ink to get it done. Aiden is smitten at first sight. He realizes she’s as pure as the driven snow and he wants her. However, the Mayors daughter can’t be seen on the wrong side of town or with the likes of Aiden Savage. Gracie wants the tattooed hunk. When the get together the combust. But daddy dearest finds out and threatened to ruin Aidens business if she doesn’t go to her Aunts house before returning for college in the fall. They have one amazing night together and she leaves him with a “dear John” letter. Will Aiden get his Gracie back or is he doomed to live life without her?

I'm liking these stories about the residents of Whiskey Run and the people they love! Gracie has been under her father's control for years. Her first taste of freedom at 18 years old is getting a tattoo. Aiden has owned his tattoo shop for 5 years. When Gracie comes in to Savage Ink, it's insta-attraction, possession and more for Aiden. But Gracie's father has plans for her that don't include a boyfriend. Gracie's trying to protect Aiden but has she underestimated him? I like this short story for the plot, interesting & likable main couple, good supporting cast, theme of commitment, detailed intimacy, suspense and satisfying ending & epilogue. Have to love Gracie for protecting the people she loves. Kudos to Aiden for his unwavering loyalty, support and protection. Very entertaining!

Oh my this book is so intense. Gracie has lived a sheltered life as her father has refused to let her out if his site. He even can even her full ride scholarship to keep her close to home at the community College. When she sneaks off to get a tatoo and comes home after, her father confronts her as someone has taken a picture of her with Aiden the tatoo shop owner who she fell in love with. Her father is sending her out of state to keep her from him. She sneaks off for one night qith hi.. when she leaves the next day she has an additional passenger she is unaware of. While at her aunts she learns some disturbing news about her father. I suspected the news while I was reading the story. Great story with a HEA. Well done.

Really good story

Aiden and Gracie were amazing together. We don't get to see them together much at all, but the quick moving pace of the book makes it seem like we do. Aiden seemed like a genuinely good guy, no mentions of his past relationships or otherwise. We know he's older than her, but I don't believe it actually states his age and no major age gap issue is mentioned. Gracie was an innocent and sweet as could be. I do wish we the readers had gotten to see her father brought to his knees, some begging, fear... something? We don't even get to know if the charges stuck or if the missing were found? That seems a major oversight since that was the entire angst of the story. Perhaps the author can give a bonus epilogue to fill us in...
