A delightful small-town romance between a daycare teacher and single dad who must overcome their differences to help plan the ultimate wedding.
They’ve driven each other crazy for years, but were they fighting each other—or the chemistry between them?
As the youngest in her loving, overprotective family, Savannah Lowe has always gone with the flow instead of going out on a limb…until now. Her new job running a preschool requires her to be all in. If only the father of one of her students wasn’t her brother’s incredibly infuriating, impossibly attractive best friend. Savannah has no clue what she ever did to make him dislike her, and now they’re stuck spending even more time together planning her brother’s wedding.
Single father Noah Adams has his hands full between his job as a paramedic and caring for his young daughter. The last thing he needs is a complication like Savannah in his life—a girl he remembers being constantly pampered by her family. But the more he gets to know her, the more he sees how kind and compassionate she really is. Now their long-ignored, off-the-charts chemistry has them on a collision course…with each other.
A Wedding on Sunshine Corner by Phoebe Mills is the second book of the contemporary romance The Sunshine Corner series. As with a lot of romance series the main characters have changed in this second book with the setting of The Sunshine Corner daycare being what ties the books together. With the characters changing the books can be read as a standalone or in any order if choosing to do so but there are glimpses of previous characters for those reading in order.
Savannah Lowe is trying not to be overwhelmed with her new position running The Sunshine Corner preschool and teaching the four year olds. One of those four year olds though is the daughter of Noah Adams. Noah was Savannah’s brother’s best friend and never saw eye to eye with Savannah thinking of her only as a spoiled princess being the youngest in her family.
Despite always bumping heads with one another Savannah and Noah immediately accept the challenge of helping to plan Savannah’s brother’s wedding when they are both asked. After a few failed attempts at planning Savannah makes a pact with Noah to put their past behind them long enough to get the wedding together but working together they both begin to see another side to one another.
A Wedding on Sunshine Corner by Phoebe Mills is again another enemies to lovers romance in the series and while that isn’t my favorite romance trope I again found myself easily engaged in the story. The characters in this one were again very likable despite beginning not liking each other and it was easy to root for them. I’m also always a sucker for children being involved and of course Noah’s daughter was an adorable addition. After reading and enjoying both books in this series so far I’d definitely be up for a book three!

Months of even more interaction with the one man who seemed to drive her out of her ever-loving mind, all while being entrenched in the most romantic ventures possible? What could go wrong?
The youngest in the family with four older brothers, Savannah has always been protected and coddled, which has made her self-conscious in her own abilities. When her bestfriend hands over the responsibility of running her daycare's new preschool, Savannah isn't sure if she can handle the job and then her brother wants her to help do the legwork on planning his wedding with his bestfriend Noah, the oil to her water. Noah is barely keeping his head above water as a single parent, his ex-wife has moved to Texas, and his EMT job is becoming a struggle to keep because of the hours. Growing up with a single mother, he learned to take care of things himself, making him hate asking for help. He can't refuse his bestfriend though, when he asks for help planning his wedding, even if he has to work with the princess. As they are forced to spend more time together, Savannah and Noah begin to see that preconceived notions were maybe wrong and their chemistry has never felt so right.
He hated this. Hated feeling like he was always dropping the ball, now that he was the one juggling them all.
A Wedding on Sunshine Corner is second in the series but you'll have no problem jumping in here. Savannah is the bestfriend from the heroine in book one and here we get a deeper look into what could first come off as her flighty personality because of her previous starting educations and hobbies but never fully committing to them long term. Savannah comes from a big loving family and as the youngest, it was easy to see how Noah was annoyed with how everyone babied her, making him think she leaned into her spoiledness but in actuality, Savannah at twenty-nine was straining to prove that she could do things on her own. Since this dynamic was so central to Savannah's character struggles, I could have read even more one-on-one scenes with her brothers and parents, we get some group scenes but I missed more of that connection with her family.
So she matched his stance and raised an eyebrow in defiance, ignoring the flip of her stomach when those whiskey-colored eyes bored into hers, the intensity enough to make her toes curl.
For his part, you'll really feel Noah's stress as he tries to figure out how to keep his dream job as an EMT but make the hours work as he solely tries to be responsible for his daughter Rosie's childcare and help plan his bestfriend Caleb's wedding with Savannah. Was the the whole plot of Savannah and Noah doing the legwork for Caleb and his fiancée's wedding a bit forced? Yes, but it got our two together and since they did have readable chemistry, I went along with it. Around 30% these two start to soften towards each other and sleeping together follows not too long after. I can't say I really felt the snap of knowing each other for twenty years and then finally giving into the always there underlining attraction but even if that more angsty tension was missing, I believed in their liking each other and wanting to sleep together because of attraction. This had more of the softer, hopeful spring feel, which would make it a good comfort vacation read.
He didn't know if Savannah Lowe was his girlfriend, but he was starting to think he might want her to be.
At 80% we get our third act break-up and they say hurtful things to each other in the way only someone who has known you for most of your life can, attacking insecurities, and then an ending romantic apology scene that visually hit the mark but missed a little in the emotional punch for me. I didn't get a total sense of the small town but I enjoyed the cast of characters, especially the scene where Savannah and her group of friends, which includes women of all ages, get together for their ladies night. This wasn't full of angsty passion but it did feel real with some sweet, and characters that have future main couples written all over them. If looking to relax and escape, Savannah's dreamy and Noah's practical had some layers and feelings that will take you away for a few hours.
An enemies-to-lovers, brother’s best friend love story, A Wedding on Sunshine Corner follows Savannah and Noah, enemies tasked with organizing a wedding. Recently single, Noah has a young daughter in Savannah’s class. Savannah and Noah have known each other since childhood, as Noah is best friends with Savannah’s older brother. When he asks Noah and Savannah to plan his wedding, they begrudgingly agree to work together. However, the more time they spend together, the more Noah and Savannah realize that their feelings for each other might not be entirely unfriendly.
The characters in the story are relatable and likable, and Savannah and Noah are layered and compelling protagonists. Savannah has low self-esteem and confidence and has never had to stand on her own, which makes her doubt her capabilities. Noah is struggling to find his groove as a single dad with a ton of responsibility. He doesn’t like to feel vulnerable or to depend on anyone. Both grow so much over the course of the story, and they learn as much about themselves as they do each other. I like that both characters have some bold revelations and that they see past the superficial, as well as the walls each has erected. Even though they’ve known each other for most of their lives, they still manage to surprise each other.
Savannah and Noah have a tone of chemistry, and the sexual tension between them is swoon-tastic!! Whether they’re bickering, teasing, or engaged in more passionate pastimes, the sparks always fly when they are near each other. As they plan her brother’s wedding, which is an ironic backdrop to Savanah and Noah’s enemies-to-lovers-romance, they must face all of their tumultuous and conflicting feelings. It leads to some funny and entertaining experiences. They have the best banter, and though their journey is filled with obstacles, I so rooted for them to find a way to get past their conflicts and be together.
Noah’s daughter Rosie is a delightful addition to the story, and I also like many of the other secondary characters. Savannah has a close-knit family, and Noah is very close to his mother and Savannah’s family, and they are all layered and interesting. The dialogue is on point and really captures the love and respect these people have for each other. Though overwhelming at times, they mean well and always have good intentions, and the way they step up for each other is wonderful.
A heartwarming and entertaining story about love, friendship, family, and taking chances, A Wedding on Sunshine Corner is a great contemporary, small town romance. Special thanks to Forever Publishing for gifting me a copy of the book. All thoughts are my own.
Savannah and Noah have grown up together with Noah being close to her brothers, but they have never been friends. Noah’s been nothing but uptight and judgmental towards Savannah and Noah regards her as spoiled, flighty, and impulsive. However, when Caleb, Savannah’s older brother, asks them to team up to help plan their wedding in Heart’s Hope Bay they must set aside their differences to work together.
Both Noah and Savannah have a lot on their plate. Savannah has just started as a teacher and coordinator at her friend Abby’s (the previous installments heroine) preschool, and Noah is juggling work while raising his four-year-old daughter alone. Savannah has a lot of self-doubt since most of her attempts at finding her career path have fizzled out. It was obvious to me that she was a hard worker, she just hadn’t found her niche yet, and I appreciated Abby’s unwavering support. Savannah had a great bunch of female friends in her corner as well as a big loving family.
I felt for Noah since he was the primary caretaker of his daughter. It’s hard for me to believe that a woman would move states away from her young daughter for a career opportunity and give up primary custody. I found it hard to understand why he was so stubborn to accept help from others. I also had a really hard reconciling his judgmental attitude towards Savannah one minute with his attraction to her the next which made it hard to buy into their romance for me. He had no right to go off on her the way he did with the final conflict (you know the one that comes about 75-80% in ?), especially when Savannah took care of the majority of the wedding planning even though it was supposed to be a shared burden. Noah was such a complete jerk dressing her down, feeding into her worst insecurities. I would’ve had a hard time forgiving him. I was happy Savannah didn’t just take him back quickly when he realized how badly he screwed up, but I would’ve liked a bit more from him. More groveling for sure. A copy was kindly provided by Forever in exchange for an honest review.
Noah is an arse, and it would take more than one grand gesture to convince me there wouldn’t be a repeat of the behavior in the future. When a man shreds your self-esteem to pieces because he’s having a bad day, it’s worth some time questioning if this isn’t going to be a repeat situation, especially when his little digs at your very being were why you didn’t like him in the first place.
A Wedding on Sunshine Corner is a passionate, charming tale that mixes the caring, insecure Savannah, who is determined to do whatever it takes to make it on her own and excel at her new position running the local preschool, and the hardworking, single father Noah, who needs all the help he can get even from his best friend’s annoying, yet undeniably attractive little sister.
The writing is smooth and light. The characters are supportive, fun-loving, and engaging. And the plot sweeps you away into a push-pull tale filled with witty banter, shameless flirting, delicious chemistry, awkward situations, friendship, family, light drama, tension, self-reflection, and love.
Overall, A Wedding on Sunshine Corner is, in my opinion, the perfect choice for anyone who loves a delightfully charming small-town romance. I enjoyed the characters, I enjoyed the storyline, and I loved the swoon-worthy happy-ever-after ending!
Thank you to Forever and Grand Central Publishing for providing me with a copy in an exchange for an honest review.
A small-town romance, the ultimate wedding, and a fight-the-chemistry tale make for a delightful read -- perfect for lovers of romance novels with a rocky path to True Love.
Thanks to the author, #ReadForeverPub, and NetGalley for the ARC; opinions are mine.
[I received a digital arc for an honest review] A Wedding on Sunshine Corner is the second stand alone in The Sunshine Corner series by Phoebe Mills. This small town enemies to lovers romance between Savannah and her brother's best friend Noah hit the spot!
As the baby and only girl of her family, Savannah has always been treated like she can't handle anything on her own, as someone pampered and flighty. That's exactly how her older brother's best friend Noah sees her. It results in them barely being able to be in each others presence without arguing. As a newly divorced single dad, he has zero patience for Savannah, and the last thing he wants to do is be paired up with her to plan a wedding. A truce to plan the wedding leads to the acknowledgment of sexual attraction and a casual arrangement that deepens into more. But when wedding plans go wrong and with both of them buckling under their own struggles, will things between them end up irreparable. Months of even more interactions with the one man who seemed to drive her out of her ever-loving mind, all while being entrenched in the most romantic ventures possible. What could go wrong?
This was a charming romance. I liked all the characters, especially our stars , Savannah, Noah, and his daughter Rosie, who was precious. Savannah was a natural as a teacher, and it was disheartening that her family couldn't see her worth and always expected her to fail. At least she had friends in her corner to remind her of the great work she was doing. Noah was such a great dad and was a sturdy character, struggling under taking on all his responsibilities without asking for help. Savannah and Noah's dynamic was intriguing, from the start their animosity towards each other seemed to be an overcompensation to avoid the sexual attraction they already felt. I really enjoyed watching them actually get to know one another and see their relationship grow from angry words to friendship to more. I was really rooting for them by the end and was devastated by their big climax argument in the book, my heart broke for Savannah as he lashed out at her with his harmful words. Because of that , I appreciated that she didn't automatically accept his apology , he definitely had groveling to do. It had just been a little more than a week ago when he didn't even particularly even like her. And now he could still smell her on his skin. Could still taste her on his tongue. Could still feel the full, lush curves of her as she'd sat astride him last night, his name on her lips.
A Wedding on Sunshine Corner by Phoebe Mills is a fun small town romance with mild steam, brothers best friend trope, a single dad, a darling little girl, wedding planning, and stolen vineyard kisses.
Happy Independent Bookstore Day! My day & weekend started w/ an iced coffee, a fruit & yogurt bowl, & finishing up ‘A Wedding on Sunshine Corner’ (3/29/22), the 2nd book in the series by Phoebe Mills. . Look for the next book in the series winter ‘23.
I really enjoyed the first book in this series and was happy to revisit the characters with this story. Savannah Lowe is 29, has four older brothers and helps run a pre-school with her best friend. Recently single, Noah Adams has a four year old in Savannah's class. Noah is stressed about his job, finances and being the main caretaker for his daughter Rosie. Savannah's oldest brother announces his engagement and asks that his best man Noah and bridesmaid Savannah do all the legwork for planning the Christmas wedding in their hometown. Neither has the time but can't say no. Noah always has seen Savannah as flighty and spoiled. Savannah always felt tormented and teased by her overprotective brothers and Noah who was constantly at her house growing up. Working together is a challenge until the sparks fly.
I enjoy the writing style of the author. She's able to give a troupe of childhood enemies to lovers story some extra depth. She writes contemporary romances with some heat before it moves behind closed doors. I liked the friend group and getting to continue with the characters from the first story. There is a little too much focus on kids for my general liking because of the pre-school work setting but it fits for the single father storyline. Also there was one mention that Noah should take alimony. That didn't fit for me. It should be changed to child-support which he most definitely should be getting to care for Rosie. Overall a very enjoyable contemporary romance. I did think after the build up the ending felt rushed. I will eagerly look forward to the next in the series. Thank you NetGalley and Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for an eARC in exchange for an honest review.
I read Phoebe Mills’s first book in this series, The House on Sunshine Corner when I needed to sit back and escape into a sweet romance. It did the job so I was happy to dig into her latest, A Wedding on Sunshine Corner and it was even better than book 1. I really liked Noah and Savannah. They had their issues and didn’t ignore them but found ways to resolve them both on their own and together. Their feelings came across as genuine, especially as Noah dealt with Rosie suddenly having only one parent. She, and the other children, were dealt with with compassion and consideration while at the same time not letting something just go by.
Mills creates some realistic characters that you’d like to have as your own friends. Even bratty Austin who in another time would have had his fanny warmed was a good one to read. I wasn’t a fan of either him or his mother, but they added to the story. I would have liked to see something be done about him and Megan, his mother, not get off so easily either. I also liked Tori but aside from Mills seeming to attempt to have a multi-cultural character I’m not sure why it was pointed out she’s Korean American unless that will play into a future story about her. If that’s the case we needed to know a bit more about why that might become an issue in the future.
I loved the scenes at the winery and Sage Sanctuary for the wedding aspects of the story. Living not too far from Mendocino I know how lovely the wineries up there—really idyllic. I’m totally looking forward to the next entry in this series.
This is an objective review and not an endorsement of this book.
I've been so looking forward to this one since reading a House on Sunshine Corner and Phoebe Mills did not disappoint with this follow-up!
I love when an author creates a setting and a cast of characters so familiar that you step right back into that world like you hadn't missed a beat and that's what Mills did with Sunshine Corner. I loved seeing the preschool that was such a major part of the first book up and running, getting to follow up with Abby and Carter and Hilde, but also getting right into Savannah and Noah's story and relationships, which were teased for us last year.
There's nothing more that I love than an enemies to lovers storyline, and I really liked in this one that since we had seen some of that animosity in book one and there was such a perceived history of it, we didn't have to wait FOREVER for these two fools to realize those strong feelings were actually attraction and chemistry. And once they did realize it? It was absolutely a pleasure to see them on page together, to watch Savannah chip away at Noah's walls and Noah to realize the lens he had always viewed his best friend's little sister through was false. Just, *swoon*.
I know some people love a single dad storyline, and some prefer kids nowhere near their romances, but the single dad storyline worked for me here. Noah working through his single parenting and Savannah working through her insecurities around follow-through and responsibility were really well formed storylines and balanced each other in the story and in their relationship.
Again, Mills has teased us a bit with the next story to come in the series; bring on Winter 2023!
A Wedding On Sunshine Corner is the second book in the Sunshine Corner series and follows the romance between Savannah, a daycare teacher and Noah, a paramedic and newly single father. Noah has been best friends with Savannah’s brother for years. They are like family, but they have always butt heads and never gotten along. Soon they are forced to put their differences aside and work together to plan Savnnah’s brother’s wedding.
This book featured many of my favourite romance tropes— enemies to lovers, single parent/guardian, and brother’s best friend. Phoebe Mills pulled off the enemies to lovers storyline so well, striking that perfect balance between giving the reader tension and animosity, but also giving us lots of time to see the two as a couple. There were many sweet moments between the two of them alone, and with Noah’s daughter. I know not everyone loves having children in their romance books, but I tend to have a major soft spot for single parent romances. There is just something extra attractive about a dad giving their all to their child. In my opinion, the addition of Noah’s daughter added to the story, but didn’t overpower it.
Although this book functions as a standalone, I do wish I had read the first book just to familiarize myself with all of the characters and the town. The supporting characters really added to the small town feel. It reminded me a bit of Stars Hollow (Gilmore Girls), where everyone knows one another and they are always there to help out a neighbour.
Many thanks to Forever Pub for providing me with a gifted copy in exchange for an honest review. I look forward to seeing what’s in store for book 3!
This book has so many tropes I love; I really expected to LOVE this book. However what I got was just meh for me. This book is about Savannah and Noah. Savannah is the 4 year old teacher at Sunshine Corner- a preschool run by her best friend Abby. She's basically like the principal of the school, but shes fraught with insecurities. She's the youngest in a big family and still relies on her parents a lot and definitely fits the "baby" stereotype. However, she's smart and very capable. She has Noah's daughter in her class and the 2 of them are not really friends. He's BFF's with one of her brothers and has always seen her as the annoying little sister and she's always seen him as her brothers annoying best friend. The animosity between them didn't make a whole lot of sense, but even less sensical was the flip from enemies to lovers. It makes some sense for him-- his wife abandoned him and his kid and Savannah loves his child. But for her, I don't know how she got from hate to love and thats annoying. The relationship lacked depth and the tension was silly. He was an EMT that didn't have to do 12 hour shifts because of his single parent status but now his accommodation is over and its supposedly a big stress to figure out what to do. However, his mom is chomping at the bit (and very vocal about it) to take care of the kid so theres an easy solution. However, Noah has a big ego and doesn't want to accept help. Its not an aha when he finally accepts it. Shes insecure and has a bully mom come after her but big deal. I didn't feel the chemistry and I didn't feel the tension in this book so meh for me.
A Wedding on Sunshine Corner is the second book in the Sunshine Corner series. This book revolves around two characters that the reader was introduced to in the first book. While this is a second book in the series, if the reader doesn’t mind obvious spoilers as to the way the first book ended, this could be read as a standalone. The author gives enough background and context that the reader can follow without reading the previous book.
Savannah, our heroine, works at her best friend’s daycare center. Noah, a single father and best friend of one of Savannah’s brothers, has always viewed Savannah as spoiled and pampered, and there’s always been a chemistry there. With Savannah as his daughter’s preschool teacher and their joint responsibility of helping Savannah’s brother with wedding planning, it’s impossible to ignore the tension and attraction.
I loved the dynamic between the characters, and this was the perfect blend of small-town romance and brother’s best friend tropes for me. Noah’s daughter is precious, and I adored watching her find her confidence over the course of the story and the way her relationship developed with Savannah.
I can’t wait to see what’s next in this series.
Many thanks to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the advanced digital copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Book two in the Sunshine Corner series brings us a fun enemies-to-lovers, brother's best friend tale. Savannah Lowe works at Abby's daycare from book one, and she has been put in charge of the new preschool. Savannah, the baby of a family with four domineering older brothers, has always been thought of as flighty and spoiled, so having Abby trust her to take charge of this is a big step. Single dad Noah Adams has always been the "extra kid" in the Lowe family, growing up alongside Savannah and her brothers. Now he's a stressed-out EMT and dad to four-year-old Rosie, who is a student in Savanna's class. There has always been some animosity between Noah and Savannah, and it only gets worse when one of her brothers, who lives out of state with his fiancee, tasks Noah and Savannah with planning a wedding in Heart's Hope Bay. Forced to work together, sparks fly as tempers flare, but gradually there are different sparks going on between them.
Book two brings us all of the love and friendship and sweetness of the first book, and I can't wait to see what the next book has in store! Honestly? I'm most looking forward to how many more uteruses Hilde can tamper with. LOL
Thank you to NetGalley and Forever/Grand Central Publishing for providing a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Savannah Lowe has always flitted from one thing to another, never finding where she fits until she takes over Sunshine Corner Preschool. When one of her brothers asks her to work with his best friend, Noah Adams on planning his wedding, Savannah is worried about two things: killing Noah or falling in love with him. Noah is trying to make single fatherhood work after the dissolution of his marriage while holding down a job as an EMT. Taking on the planning of a wedding doesn't seem possible, especially since he will be working with his best friend's sister, Savannah, who has always been the spoiled baby of the family, but it isn't long before Noah realizes that Savannah has grown up.
A Wedding on Sunshine Corner starts off with the very interesting dynamic of two people who not only don't get along, while being forced to work together, but also dealing with a very real attraction between them. However, when the two of them call a truce, the romance becomes pretty boring and the story slows down dramatically. The characters in the book are developed with well defined motivations, but their romance lacks spark. Also, the conflict in the third act of the story and the reaction of one of the protagonists is very off-putting. Overall, A Wedding on Sunshine Corner is a gentle romance in a story that lacks fire.
This book was absolutely amazing! And just so very wonderful it was the most cutest and sweetest romance I’ve read since Because of Miss Bridgerton by Julia Quinn. I’ve enjoyed my time reading this wonderful book it was super duper fun and I really adored the characters from this wonderful story. Savannah and Noah are so damn cute! 🥰🥰 like whenever I read their scenes I had a smile on my face from the cuteness. Also, Rosie was the most cutest thing ever! This does remind me of Because of Miss Bridgerton on so many different platforms because Billie is supposed to be Savannah and George is supposed to be Noah. Also, Edward and Andrew are Savannah’s brothers. I really wonder what they thought of Savannah’s relationship with Noah I’m just curious lol 😂. I really loved the epilogue so very much! Enemies to lovers is one of my favorite tropes in the bookish community. I actually might continue with the Sunshine Corner Series because I’m very interested in Becca and Jackson’s story. Definitely one of my favorite books of 2022 I highly recommend to whomever is interested! Such an amazing romance book that will make you happy and keep you on the edge of your seat. Highly recommend!
Happy Reading!!📚📚

I enjoyed reading my first visit to Sunshine Corner, and it will not be my last. In a fun, easy to read story with great characters set in a small town. I found myself intrigued with Noah and Savannah. They have known each other for some time as he is her brother’s best friend. She is now his daughter’s teacher. Currently, they are tasked with planning her brother’s wedding, between conflict and sparks, a romance begins.
I look forward to returning to Sunshine Corner and meeting new friends.
Thank you to NetGalley and Forever(Grand Central Publishing) for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.
Palpable chemistry, small town charm, and a sweet romance. What's not to love? Add in a cast of fun characters, a unique daycare setting, an adorable little girl, and a spunky grandma and you've got the recipe for a great book! I enjoyed returning to this small town and seeing the characters develop from book one. This was lovely and made my heart happy.
Mills’ premise of three women running a daycare as the main characters in her trilogy is creative and unique. The relationship between the three women is as important, if not more, than the romantic elements. I really enjoyed this series, even if it sat on my TBR pile for far too long.
I have followed the sunshine corner series right from the beginning and this was as good as the first.
A Wedding on Sunshine Corner is another enemy-to-lovers story that has Noah and Savannah at each other's throats. Noah sees her as this spoilt princess who never has to lift her finger to get things done, and Savannah sees him as the grumpy male who would always want to call her out on her flaws.
They are both tasked with planning a wedding, and will do anything to get the job done, even if it's for a day. But how long will that last or how long will it take before they strip each other with their eyes?
As always, this book touches on love, friendship, and small town gossip, which is the full package. Waiting patiently for the third book.
If you are looking for a charming and delightful small town romance, Phoebe Mills definitely delivers in this brother's best friend, conflicted relationship to lovers, single dad romance. This is the second book in The Sunshine Corner series, but it can definitely still be read as a standalone. This is also Mills' second novel and I found it to be a really lovely addition to the series and her works and I am excited to continue reading from her as she develops and grows in her writing career. This novel is easily engaging, Mills' writing and tone is conversational and quickly draws the reader into the story, I also found that the pacing works very well and Mills does a nice job moving from "conflicted" to lovers with the hero and heroine as their understanding of each other deepens.
Savannah is the baby of her family, and while she yearns to grow and spread her wings, she does feel like she is sometimes coddled too much which leads her to not always be fully confident in her abilities. Noah is Savannah's brothers friend and has know Savannah since she was a child, he considers her to be flighty and unreliable because of the way she is always being helped by her family. Noah is divorced and the soul caretaker of his four year old daughter now that his ex wife has moved to another state for a new job, and Noah has a hard time relying on others for help. Savannah and Noah now find themselves more in each others spheres because Savannah is Noah's daughter's pre-school teacher and Savannah's brother (Noah's best friend) has asked Noah and Savannah to help plan his wedding in Sunshine Corner (because he and his fiancee live out of state).
This novel starts out with Savannah and Noah really misunderstanding each other and it is their journey of discovering who each person truly is as well as learning really important things about themselves along the way. Mills does a really wonderful job creating characters with realistic flaws and preconceived notions and having them slowly get to know each other and trust each other. I really enjoyed that through out their relationship both Savannah and Noah were able to support each other, help each other to open up and really see the inner strength of the other while helping them to learn ways that they can help themselves by relying on others and finding their inner strength. I love that Noah sees that Savannah is a much stronger and more competent person than he thought, watching how she takes control he finds a deep respect for her. I love that Savannah is able to show Noah ways to open up and learn that accepting help does not make him any less of a father to his daughter. I think Mills does a really lovely job of showing the reader that the hero and heroine have a really lovely relationship that can help balance each other and support each other. I also think Mills does a nice job with the children and the pre-school moments in this novel, the children help us and Noah to see Savannah's capabilities as well as Savannah and Noah's daughter have some really lovely moments which make Noah's heart squeeze in the best way! The steam level in the novel is low, verging on closed door, so if you don't like a ton of steam in your novel this should work well for you. The final conflict of this novel, while predictable, does give a nice exploration and growth to both the hero and heroine as they move toward their final HEA.
If you love a small town romance, if you love a sweet story about two people who truly learn to see the other, if you love a single father and teacher romance, then this is a delightful option to add to your TBR pile. I would definitely recommend this, it has beautiful light hearted moments, some moments of struggle and it left me with a smile on my face.
Thank you to Forever Pub and NetGalley for an eARC, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
In Phoebe Mills’s A Wedding on Sunshine Corner, the second installment in the Sunshine Corner contemporary romance series, this sweet love story would sweep you off your feet and give you all the feels. Savannah Lowe had always been a free spirit, moving from one interest to another in her hobby, trying to get her foot in the ground. Her parents and older brother had spoiled her in the past. But when her best friend Abby hired her to become a daycare teacher at Sunshine Corner, she wasn’t sure if she could put it off. A couple of times, she had run interference for one undisciplined child who caused trouble for her class. Then her older brother Caleb had wanted her to help plan his wedding with his best friend, Noah Adams. He had always ruffled her feathers and then some. He was the last person she would rather work with. Noah Adams couldn’t believe he would be working with his best friend’s baby sister, Savannah, who was such a spoiled princess. He’s a single divorced father who’s trying to make ends meet to care for his young five-old-daughter Rosie. And he’s trying to please everybody at the fire station as an EMT/paramedic with his flexible work schedule. When they worked together to give Caleb and Issa a perfect dream wedding, they’ve gotten to know each other better through teamwork. But after one tempted kiss, the chemistry they had was off the charts. Due to an unfortunate mishap and a glitch, they needed to realize they need each other and learn how to ask for help when they needed it the most.
This heartfelt contemporary romance was endearing and moving that tugged your heart’s strings. I cared for Savannah, who wanted to find her own way and be her own person. I also adored Noah who wanted to do right for Rosie, and also wanted to have a great support system. They make an adorable couple who were made for each other. The location of Heart’s Hope Bay is picturesque for a small beach town in Southern California with majestic scenic settings. The dual themes of the story is love will find a way back to your hearts; and it’s never too late to ask for help.
This sweet contemporary romance will make your heart sigh and weep. I rated this book, five out of five stars for no reason. If you love heartfelt contemporary romances with non-stop drama, plenty of romantic action, and a dose of sweet humor, you’ll enjoy the Wedding on Sunshine Corner. This is recommended for fans of Hallmark Channel movies, and romance novels from Jill Shalvis, Kristan Higgins, and Kristen Callihan.
Phoebe Mills checks a lot of my happy reader boxes with this second book in her small-town, Sunshine Corner series. I love the community dynamic of this series, with its core group of friends at the center. She has created a strong, supportive environment with friends and family who stand ready to help while also not being above well-meaning meddling. Savannah's family, in particular, plays a strong role in both Savannah's character as well as her journey with Noah.
Savannah and Noah both come with layers and complications that give them complexities that made them intriguing characters who both held my attention and engaged my emotions. I love a brother's best friend romance trope. Add in enemies to lovers (okay, maybe not enemies in the strictest sense but definitely adversaries), single dad, and childhood friends, and I'm sold.
It was fun watching Noah and Savannah gradually move beyond the impressions formed in their younger years and begin to see the truth of who each of them is in the present. It was also satisfying to see each of them personally evolve and begin to learn their own strengths while learning to accept their vulnerabilities. I loved the sizzle and deep feelings that gradually grew between them. Noah's four-year-old daughter was a large part of those feelings. The story addresses the very real complications having a young child can cause in a new relationship while also highlighting the additional depth of emotion that child can also bring to that same relationship. I was cheering for a happily ever after for all three of them.
If you enjoy small-town contemporary romance with plenty of humor, heart, and happy endings, give this one a try. It's the second book of the series and while it can absolutely be enjoyed on its own, reading book one, The House on Sunshine Corner, will introduce you to many of the characters you'll meet in book two including Savannah's best friend and boss, Abby (heroine of book one).
Savannah, has been working at the Sunshine Corner preschool and she is about to have her own class. Savannah is also the baby and only girl in her family, living in an apartment over the garage at her parents’ home. People think she is spoiled and can not handle anything on her own and she is out to prove them wrong. When Savannah is asked to plan her best friends wedding, she can not believe that she must do it with Noah, her brothers’ best friend. He is the one person that rubs Savannah the wrong way, and it does not help that his daughter is also in her preschool class. What will happen when the two of them are forced to spend time together? Can they put their differences aside and plan a dream wedding for their best friends?
Noah would do anything for his best friend and that includes having to spend time with his friend’s little sister, the torn in his side. He is already taxed to the max with his job and trying to raise his daughter and this is one more complication he does not need. His sweet daughter Rosie seems to love Savannah, and maybe Noah is not seeing the whole picture. Does he have what it takes to help plan the wedding?
I loved the “House on Sunshine Corner”, the first book in Phoebe Mills series, so I was thrilled to start reading the second book. I enjoyed getting to know Savannah and Noah while getting reacquainted with characters from the first novel. It is such a charming story, full of family, friends and small-town living. The characters were well written, especially Rosie, who just melted my heart. I look forward to seeing what Ms. Mills has in store for us with her next book. Forever Publishing, Netgalley and author Poebe Mills have my thanks for my advanced readers copy that I read and reviewed in exchange for my honest thoughts and opinions. A fabulous five star read friends.
I'm so so happy I got this E-arc. It was so nice revisiting characters I loved from the first novel and now focusing on some of the side characters from the first novel we were introduced to.
in this novel we follow Savannah and Noah who have been enemies for as long as they can both remember. Noah is best friends with Savannah's older brother and is close to all of her brothers. Savannah, being the baby of the family, has always been seen as flaky, unstable and immature. One day Carter, Savannah's older brother and Noahs best friend, facetimes their family with some amazing news, he's engaged! however, since him and his fiancé want to hold their wedding in Hearts Hope Bay, they are going to need some help with arrangements since they live out of town. Noah, being the best man and Savannah being the bridesmaid are the ones who are strong-armed into taking on such a big task. How can two people who hate each other and couldn't be more different, get along long enough to plan a wedding together?
These books are definitely a new comfort series for me. the characters are so easy to relate to and to love. Noah struggles with asking for help and support that he needs being a single dad and Savannah feels like she always has something to prove because she feels her family doesn't take her seriously. what started off as a fling between them grew into something more and I was HERE for it. I can't wait for the next book in this series, im sure im going to love it!
Thank you to Dana @ForeverPub for the @netgalley link to book two in The Sunshine Corner Series. This book follows Savannah and Noah's story and its as wonderful as the first book. We follow these two as they are tasked with planning a wedding for Savannah's brother and Noah's best friend. Sparks fly, tempers flare, and the banter between them was just the right amount of energy as the story is slowly unfolded where we learn how much they both are alike in their struggles with confidence, and deep rooted family ties. Savannah's character just blossoms as she allows herself to trust her abilities and her feelings so that she can take a leap of faith to find success and happiness. Running her friend's preschool program, being in charge of setting up a wedding in record time, she truly tests herself and that was a thread I very much enjoyed throughout the book. Noah an EMT, a single Dad, also struggles with balancing work, his daughter, his mom, and only when he opens up and starts to trust does he finally begin to realize his true affection and love that he has been hiding all these years. Read this heartwarming novel filled with humor, sparks, love, friendship, courage, enemies to lovers trope, a well done second novel by Author Phoebe Mills. Coming to your favorite bookshop on March 29, 2022 pre-order your copy and grab book one if you haven't read it already. Can't wait to go back to Sunshine Corner when Book 3 releases. Grateful to be part of Forever Reads BFF program, and the chance to discover these fantastic contemporary romances.
A Wedding on Sunshine Corner is second book in The Sunshine Corner series and it gives us a small-town romance with a wedding, but not in the way you think, and two people fighting both their feelings and themselves!
Savannah Lowe is the only girl in her family with four brothers and she is currently running The Sunshine Corner, the preschool in town. She's always been treated like she isn't able to handle things and unfortunately she's internalized that and there are times she believes it too. She's much too hard on herself.
Noah Adams is a single father and one of Savannah's brothers best friends. He's stressed about his job and in turn his finances. He and Savannah have never quite seen eye-to-eye, but there has always been a bit of an attraction there.
When Savannah's older brother announces his engagement, he and his fiancée ask Noah and Savannah to handle all of the plans since they are in their hometown and the betrothed live out of state. While Noah and Savannah aren't thrilled to be working together, it may be just what the two of them need to understand if there is something there between them. Will all this togetherness bring them together or drive them apart?
I enjoyed these characters and how their arcs unfolded. Both Noah and Savannah grew and learned throughout the novel both together and individually. I've enjoyed both trips to Sunshine Corner and I look forward to the next visit!
