The Cryptic Prophecy

Rate this book
The next generation of Etherya’s Earth begins…

Calinda, daughter of Darkrip and Arderin, has never quite fit in the immortal world. Raised alongside humans, she returned to the realm as the subject of a cryptic prophecy. Feared by some and shunned by others, Callie struggles to understand her place in the kingdom. When a handsome suitor begins to court her, she is taken by his ardent gestures, even if she has doubts.

Stoic Vampyre soldier Brecken grew up far from royal castles and wealthy aristocrats and understands he and Callie are worlds apart. Silently, he guards her and her suitor, falling for her more each time he hears her silken laugh and observes her kindness toward his little sister. He might not deserve her, but he vows to keep her safe.

When Callie’s suitor betrays her by aligning with their enemy, Brecken is there to pick up the pieces. As the final battle with Bakari draws near, Brecken continues to protect Callie, knowing a future between them is uncertain. But Callie is determined to defy the prophecy and prove to her heroic soldier that destinies are never set in stone…and one can determine their own fate if they have the strength to prevail.

**The Etherya's Earth paranormal romance series is best read in order so the reader can enjoy the evolution of the characters. After all, the author loves a good twist and wants the reader to uncover them organically. However, readers of romance rest assured that each book has its own featured hero/heroine and HEA.

I absolutely adore this fantasy series. Now in its sixth full book, we’ve gotten to see the characters grow and develop over time. Darkrip and Arderin (one of my favorite couple) have grown children, and Callie, their oldest daughter and subject of a prophecy that has always haunted her, is engaged to be married to Zadicus. Callie has always feared she wouldn’t find a guy who wouldn’t like her for her, and this leads her to be vulnerable to nearly being tricked by a man using her while allied with Bakari.

I loved Brecken, her bodyguard. He and Callie had wonderful, natural chemistry together, and I loved all the scenes with him and his family. There’s that old saying that a man who is good to his mom and sisters will treat his wife well, and Brecken is a kind brother and good son (plus, who wouldn’t have fallen for those love letters?) And he and Callie have STEAMY chemistry. Etheyra’s Earth is a series marked by rich, complex world building, and smart, complicated characters. The war between immortals and demons is reaching a peak, and Callie, with her ability to both heal and read minds, is pivotal. The ladies in the book have no qualms about letting their favorite gentlemen know their thoughts about the recent law change allowing female soldiers to fight (it’s about time!), and I especially loved the scene where Arderin rips in to Darkrip when he’s having an overprotective father-bear moment over his little girl “Callie? Weak and vulnerable? Try again, dear. Have you met our daughter?” Perfection! I loved the glimpses we got of some other side characters, so much so that by the time we reached the end of the book and a special teaser was included, telling us who book seven would be about, I squealed in delight! No spoilers, but it was exactly who I was hoping for!

Please excuse typos/name misspellings. Entered on screen reader.

As the synopsis says “The next generation of Etherya’s Earth begins….”, and I couldn’t have been more excited. The Cryptic Prophecy is the story of Calinda, Darkrip and Arderin’s daughter, and Brecken, a Vampyre soldier.

The battle with Bakari, son of Markdor and Calla, and his army of Deamons is not yet over. A new prophecy was brought to knowledge in the previous books centered on Callie. A prophecy that predicted the destruction of the world of Vampyres and Slayers. Will it be fulfilled or will nature alter its course yet again?

Calinda or Callie, with her powers to pulverize someone on the spot as well as her desire to heal others, was the perfect blend of Darkrip and Arderin. She was kind-hearted and free-spirited. Even after being betrayed by the person she liked, she continued to forge ahead to defy the prophecy that has alienated her from the people in her kingdom. Brecken was a Vampyre soldier tasked with protecting Callie on her mission to the human world. His dedication towards both his role as a protector and his family endeared me to him.

I loved seeing all the characters from the previous books. Darkrip as an over-protective father was adorable to see. It made me want to go back and read Darkrip and Arderin’s story. Tordor, Sathan and Miranda’s son, was a surprise. He was so humble and I can’t wait to see his character explored further in his own story. Jack, Latimus and Lila’s son, was the perfect cousin and friend.

The final fight was explosive. The conclusion to the battle was completely unexpected but well worth the wait. I would have enjoyed it even better if Callie’s powers had been explored a little more. Otherwise, this book was the perfect introduction to the next generation and the challenges that await them.

Darkrip is one of my favorite characters. This dark and damaged boy turned into a supportive and caring husband to Aderin and stayed home to take care of the babies while Aderin followed her dream to become a doctor. What more could a girl ask for? Years later, it is time to go back home.
I absolutely adore this fantasy series.
In this book, we meet a grown up Callie.
The prophecy associated to her has her terrified and has people running from her.
She is engaged to be married to Zadicus.
Her biggest fear was to never be loved and this allowed Zadicus to approach her and take advantage of her.
Thank the heavens for her bodyguard, Brecken, who I absolutely adore! It's also amazing to watch him interact with his family. You can just see how he'll be a great partner for the love of his life.
The chemistry between Bracken and Callie is off the charts.
This Cyrano de Bergerac sort of love story has us swooning over the letters, the man who writes them, but not the man who signs them.
One of the things I love the most about this series is the fact that the alpha males are protective and loving, but the women are self-sufficient and badass all on their own.
The 'damsel in distress' type of female have no place here, because the damsels are no wilting flowers, that's for sure.
And Bakari is still lurking and bringing about chaos whenever and however he can, fighting our heroes every step of the way.
I absolutely love this action-packed, page-turner, hot as hell book, and can't recommend it enough.
Can't wait to see who gets their HEA next and watch Bakari either going down in an epic way or seeing the light an getting his HEA as well, getting reunited with his siblings.
Book 7, I'm waiting for you!!!!
I received a free ARC copy of this book and this is my honest opinion.

THE CRYPTIC PROPHECY is the sixth book in the Etherya's Earth series, but the first one that follows the children of our favourite characters! This time, it's Callie -- the daughter of Arderin and Darkrip, who is also the starring character in an Elven Prophecy that alienates her from her peers, leaving her wide open for being used by others.

Although other characters are in here, the focus is on Callie and Brecken, plus their families. No worries though, because that also includes Callie's parents (in case you were having Darkrip withdrawals!). He's a bit of a one here when he goes in 'I'm your father and I know what's best for you' mode, but Arderin and Callie soon shake that notion from him. Those scenes were so much fun to read!

Brecken is the sole male in his family, his father having died years before. He adores his mum and will do anything for his sisters, including writing the most beautiful love letters to Callie, on behalf of someone else! I don't want to talk about 'the other man' though - he doesn't deserve the page space!! Brecken is well-deserving of his nickname Shakespeare and made my heart melt with every letter!

Tatiana plays a bigger role and finally picks a side, which opens up the way the following books will go. I did wonder where we'd be going next, but now, I'm fully on board and (once again) can't wait to read more.

Callie and Brecken are steaming-hot, whilst also being caring, loving, and romantic enough to make anyone's cold, dead heart beat again. I have absolutely adored this series but I think Callie and Brecken are my new favourites.

Oh, and that prophecy? It's fulfilled but not in the way you suspect, and that's ALL I'm going to say. If you want to know more - read the book!!! Just remember to start at book one though, so you get the full experience. Trust me, you won't regret it.

This is book six of the Etherya’s Earth series and the main characters are part of the next generation, Callie (Calinda), the daughter of Darkrip and Arderin, and Vampyre soldier and now bodyguard Brecken. Brecken swopped being a soldier to work as a bodyguard for one of the aristocratic families, protecting their son Zadicus, who is a bit arrogant and dismissive of those he considers beneath him. Brecken took the job to help his mother and his five sisters, who have little to live on after his father’s death, and has to watch as Zadicus begins to court Callie. Zadicus asks Brecken to break his contract and allow him a few hours a week, without being watched or guarded and in return he will help his intelligent sister get into a better school. What he gets up to in those hours is unclear, but will no doubt have an important part later in the tale. Zadicus is one of those privileged few who doesn’t believe in doing anything himself, if he could get a servant or someone else to do it instead. His first attempt at a love poem is really bad and makes Callie laugh instead of think of him in a romantic manner! He asks Brecken to write some love letters to her on his behalf and in return will get his mother a much better seamstress position, which he can’t deny his mother. Zadicus courting someone like Callie is quite surprising. Yes, she has a direct link to the royal family, but she is also the main subject of a long hidden prophecy that states she will join with their enemy, Bakari, and destroy the immortal world with him! This made her childhood, once they returned from the human world, and their full history was being taught in schools, a nightmare. Everyone either avoided her altogether or ran away from her scared.

To have a good looking young aristocrat eager to pursue her, she is happy to go along with him and steal moments together. She won’t go much further until they are officially bonded, but is beginning to have some niggling doubts about him and whether she truly loves him enough. Being happy to have someone seem to like her for who she is, after years of people avoiding her because of her prophecy, makes her ignore her intuition and continue on to the bonding ceremony nearly a year after meeting him. On the day, Gladys helps her get ready and will cover for her while she gets a few minutes of fresh air, only for Tatiana to show up. She is a mystery to all, seeming to work for Bakari but also coming to them and passing on information as well. She is some kind of unknown immortal who has lived in the human world for centuries and most class her a witch! She speaks in riddles, as do most who try to offer advice it seems, and warns Callie to listen to herself and more about her prophecy and the upcoming battle where she will join with Bakari to destroy their world as they know it. But of course, any prophecy has many meanings and it may not mean what most have taken quite literally! When she returns inside, she pulls her betrothed aside to speak to him about her concerns and breaks the promise to her father about using her powers. This brings about a surprising result and more questions than answers. Callie knows what the lack of answers means and Zadicus finally shows his true feelings about her and his traitorous behaviour is revealed as Bakari appears!

He seems to think Callie would come to him if he just talks to her and makes her realise she is all alone, like he was having been abandoned in the human realm and buried as a newborn. Callie refuses to go with Bakari or even consider she would turn to his side in the final battle to come, for the very people she loves to finally have peace after they defeat him. She refuses to go home with her parents, wanting to wallow in her unhappiness and the letters she received from Zadicus draw her in, making her wonder how he could have written such lovely prose and then betrayed her as he did. It soon leads her to a revelation that sets her off to rage at Brecken, as she discovers the real identity of the letter writer! Brecken proves to be so much more than she first thought and it seems like all of her recent dreams of him instead of her betrothed, must have been pushing her to this connection. Brecken will do anything to protect her and as she is called to meet with Tatiana in the human world near Arizona, Brecken is chosen by the council to accompany her and protect her during this trip. It is important and apparently has something to do with her role in the final battle, so it is a priority. Brecken makes the most of their time together and away from anyone who might realise he has slept with her, especially her father, Darkrip. He doesn’t believe he has any real future with her, since she is a princess as her mother is the king’s sister. Callie is not one to be concerned with status, having been the victim of the people all around her of all levels, hating her or fearing her because of the prophecy, without even getting to know her at all! Brecken is the first person to really seem to like her and see her as a person in her own right and she loves how caring he is, for his family, as well as a soldier and bodyguard, wanting to keep their people safe. She just wants to get this final battle done and over with to prove to everyone that she won’t turn to Bakari’s side nor destroy their world. So much more going on as they meet with Tatiana and Brecken prepares for the final battle, back in a position within the army. He has nothing to offer her but himself and she is determined to show him that their destiny is not set by those around them, only by themselves and their love for each other. The final battle and its twist in the tale happens at the end of the storyline, but that is for others to discover for themselves. I am loving this series and would recommend others to read it as well, but start at the beginning to truly understand these complex characters stories and what they have faced. I look forward to reading the last few books and seeing what happens. I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.

Series Moves to Next Generation

I've really enjoyed this Etherya's Earth series. This book starts a new era in the series, as it is the first book focusing on the next generation, this one about Darkrip’s and Arderin's daughter, Calinda. Since before she was born, a terrifying prophecy about her loomed over her head. Once her family moved back to the immortal realm—they spent her younger years in the human Earth realm so her mother could go to medical school—her life had unique challenges, as some in that realm were incredibly fearful of her because of the prophecy. But her parents were determined to raise her right, nurturing the better side of her nature so that, hopefully, the dark side of it would not come into play. They've done a great job. I found her to be a fantastic character that I quickly came to care about. She's complex in the best way. I like how she's not only a good being, but she has learned to take others' shunning of her in stride, for the most part. The prophecy has been a part of the series for a few books now, and it comes to fruition in this book. I am an avid reader, and I am not often surprised by what should be twists and turns in books, but this one was a pleasant surprise … and I look forward to watching the fallout in future books of the series. The battle part dealing with the villain was perhaps a bit too short for all the havoc he wreaked throughout several books, but the epilogue offers a new and potentially redemptive path for him that will also be interesting to follow. As with all the books in this series, it isn't just about what's happening in Etherya’s Earth. This book also has a delightfully sweet romance, Calinda’s with an unlikely immortal. She's Etheryaen royalty and becomes interested in a retired soldier who has now become a bodyguard. To say there's a massive class difference between them is an understatement. He, in particular, feels like he is not a fit being for a woman of her rank. But being of the bloodline of three immortal races and a strong female lead, Calinda holds more sway over that decision! He is so kind to her, and it is particularly lovely to see as others often ill-treat her because of the prophecy. I certainly recommend reading the prior books in the series to understand this world better, as the author has created a fantastic one. This book could stand alone, though; you don't really have to have read them to understand this book, but you will certainly appreciate it more if you have. Highly recommended.

I received a promo code for this audiobook, but that did not affect my review.

The Cryptic Prophecy is book 6 of the Etherya's Earth series, this is the story of Brecken and Callie.

Details on The Cryptic Prophecy:

Feared by some and shunned by others, Callie struggles to understand her place in the kingdom. When a handsome suitor begins to court her, she is taken by his ardent gestures, even if she has doubts.

He might not deserve her, but he vows to keep her safe. When Callie's suitor betrays her by aligning with their enemy, Brecken is there to pick up the pieces. As the final battle with Bakari draws to a close. Brecken continues to protect Callie, knowing a future between them is uncertain, but Callie is determined to defy the prophecy and prove to her heroic soldier that destinies are never set in stone... and one can determine their own fate if they have the strength to prevail.

Review:
Wow, this book is an amazing way to continue on this series. I absolutely fell in love with Brecken and Callie. I love the fact that Callie is will to defy and not allow a prophecy to rule her life and that destines aren't set in stone and that one can make their own fate. Hefner did another amazing job with this novel, this story had me captivated from the very beginning of the book and I couldn't set it down until I finished reading it. Honestly, I finished reading this book in one sitting while pulling a all nighter to do it. I absolutely loved seeing all the characters from the previous books. I found The Cryptic Prophecy to be steamy and passionate, as well as a page-turner. I would highly recommend this novel to anyone looking for a well-written paranormal romance novel.

Aww yeah! Etherya’s Earth round 2. We got to see how they were made, not we get to….. actually, let’s never think about that again. As the time skips were going on in the series, I was never quite sure how to feel about them. A great many years passed and it was kinda difficult to wrap my mind around so many years passing over the course of the series, I had to remind myself the world of immortals would move at a much quicker rate than we do. Unless they’re getting romantically involved, then it pretty much moves at Mach speed.

The upside is we get to see a new generation of Vampires, Slayers, and whatever their hybrid children are called. It’s nice to see how the characters have all grown and changed over the decades. Even though their stories were told in a previous novel, I never get tired of seeing snippets of their romances.

Calinda and Brecken have the best romance in the series. I don’t mean chemistry-wise, that will always belong to Heden and Sofia. What I mean is dayum, girl! these two have the best romance scenes in the series so far. And they’re insatiable. Then we get teased with a bathtub scene at the end, which can only be found on the official website. Madness, I say! I think we as fans of Etherya’s Earth should band together and request an extension of this couple’s story, as it is far too short.

I was a bit apprehensive about what’s his name taking over as narrator. Devon Wilcox really brought Etherya’s Earth to life for me across 6 stories. I was impressed with his performance. he did a fantastic job of bringing Etherya’s Earth to life and capturing the essence of all of the characters and their personalities. It can be jarring to switch narrators in the middle of a series but he did an excellent job of keeping things on brand.

NOTE: This copy was provided to me free of charge as a digital review copy. The opinions stated in this review are mine and mine alone, I was not paid or requested to give this book a certain rating, suggestion, or approval.

The Cryptic Prophecy (Book 6 of Etherya’s Earth) by Rebecca Hefner is a captivating addition to the series that beautifully blends romance, intrigue, and the power of defying destiny.

In this story, Calinda, or Callie, daughter of Darkrip and Arderin, faces the complexities of her heritage and a prophecy that has cast a shadow over her life. As someone raised among humans, she struggles to find her place in the immortal realm, feeling both feared and misunderstood. Enter Brecken, a stoic Vampyre soldier who, despite knowing he’s from a different world, becomes her quiet protector. Their chemistry is palpable, but what makes their bond so special is their shared determination to defy the expectations that come with their statuses.

Brecken’s devotion to Callie is heartwarming. He’s not only guarding her physically, but his growing feelings for her add emotional depth to the narrative. Callie, on the other hand, is a fiercely independent woman who refuses to accept the limits imposed by her prophecy, embodying the series’ recurring themes of self-determination and growth. When betrayal strikes and the stakes are higher than ever, Brecken is by her side, even though a future together feels uncertain.

Rebecca Hefner once again pulls readers into a world where love, sacrifice, and fate collide. If you’ve been following Etherya’s Earth and love a good enemies-to-lovers romance with a touch of destiny and plenty of action, you won’t want to miss this one. The romantic tension between Brecken and Callie is both heart-wrenching and hopeful, and I can’t wait to see where their journey takes them next!

Highly recommended for fans of supernatural romance and those who love to see characters struggle against their fates.

The Cryptic Prophecy is the sixth book in the Etherya's Earth series (but the first of Etherya's Earth New Generation) by new-to-me author, Rebecca Hefner.
Etherya’s Earth is a romantasy series that will pull you in and keep you avidly reading the whole way through. I picked up the first book in the series not really expecting much- but soon found myself devouring ALL seven instalments as I became well and truly hooked.
Each book in the series follows its own particular ‘couple’- so they can be read as standalones, if you wanted. But, having said that, there are interconnected elements, a recurring cast of characters, and other relevant details that all combine to build a much bigger picture-making it worth your time to read the all the books.
With vampires, slayers, tension, agendas, action, adventure, politics, drama, danger, chemistry, sizzle, emotion, paranormal & supernatural elements, war, good vs evil, suspense, mystery, quests, superb world building, enemies to lovers, forced proximity, and much more- this series has a lot to offer.
The series consists of:
-The Dawn of Peace (Series Prequel)
-The End of Hatred (Book #1)
- The Elusive Sun (Book #2)
-The Darkness Within (Book #3)
-The Reluctant Savior (Book #4)
-The Impassioned Choice (Book #5)
-The Cryptic Prophecy (Book #6)
-The Diplomatic Heir (Book #7)

Happy Reading…

Thank you, Rebecca Hefner!

Book 6 and the last up to this point but the author has more coming. I feel empty now. And sad that’s it’s over for now. I need more…I’ve grown quite obsessed with this series.

Callie is the granddaughter of the evil Crimeous, but royalty thanks to her mother being Vampyre royalty and her father is half deamon half slayer. She is set to marry a Vampyre but it turns out he was in cahoots with an evil Vampyre trying to get Callie to help him fulfill the prophecy to destroy Etherya’s Earth.

When this comes to light her fiancé leaves with the evil Vampyre and she discovers his personal bodyguard, Breken, helped woo her and confronts him.

The truth comes out and sparks fly of course. But he’s a soldier and she’s royalty. But she likes him and feels comfortable with him while she’s felt like an outcast her whole life because of the prophecy the revolves around her.

He is charged with protecting her while she travels to earth to find a way to stop the prophecy. Will they find a way? Can they make a relationship work being so different??

Rebecca has beautifully crafted a world in her series and I’ve grown so attached to all the characters. I can't wait for the next release!

Just when I think the author cannot write a new imaginary man she writes another one. I’m a bit sad that as the stories have progressed Sathan has shown his face less and less. I understand that Miranda is a badass queen but still, I miss their love and banter. I love that we got to revisit Darkrip and Arderin’s love story and just expand it to their kids now all grown up.

Now Callie had her ups and downs but she came out on top and stronger than ever. I love how the author creates wonderful and amazing women book after book. I like their growth and development throughout the stories. If we follow my fictional character boyfriends by order of books I would have to say: Sathan, Darkrip, Kenden, Dragos and now we would add Brecken; but if we go by how much I like each man… Kenden is my number one and I hope to keep seeing more of him, followed by Brecken, then Darkrip and Sathan I feel like should no longer be on the list because of his lack of appearances.

I hope that the author continues to create wonderful stories with beautiful happily ever afters.

This review is for the audiobook version.

Etherya's Earth #6. The children are all grown up now and ready to find out what life has in store for them. The Cryptic Prophecy is about Callie, Arterin & Darkrip's daughter. She almost marries a total douche but with some help from Tatiana she discovers that he is deceiving her. Douche's bodyguard, Brecken, has been admiring Callie from the shadows and pouring his heart out to her in letters that were supposedly from her fiance. She realizes he wrote the letters and confronts him.

Rebecca Hefner has filled this series with hot guys. Each and every one of them are swoon-worthy, but I ADORE Brecken. He is totally my new book boyfriend. He's fantastic!

Confession time: I wasn't looking forward to a new narrator after Devon Wilcox had done all the previous books. I needn't have worried. Wen Ross did a great job and I wasn't disappointed at all.

The Immortals now have a break from constantly being at war, but their world has just expanded. I can't wait to see what Rebecca has in store for us!

If you haven't started this series yet, what are you waiting for?

Finished reading with a smile on my face so obviously this has a HEA.
All of these amazing books in the series do but this was especially nice as it sets up new beginnings hahaha that’s all I will say as no spoilers from me.
So this is book 6 in the Etheryas Earth series by Rebecca Hefner and we are following the new generation now as the kids are all grown up.
We are following Darkrip and Arderins daughter Callie and her journey through being hated and treated like a freak or a monster due to the prophecy that she will align with Bakari and destroy them all. But also journey to love with vampire soldier Brekin.
Absolutely loved seeing the old characters we love in particular my favourite Darkrip who is rocking it an over protective dad giving me another side to love about him lol. He really is the best. Honestly, I feel like going back and reading his book again.
The characters are amazing, story is packed with action and lots of twists. The chemistry is sizzling. What can I say loved it 5/5

to be married to Zadicus who takes advantage of those fears. Brecken is Callie's bodyguard who has stoically stood at her side and it's through his thoughts that we learn of his love for her. With a nod to Cyrano de Bergerac, Brecken pens love letters to Callie for Zadicus to present to her as his own. Once she realizes that it's been Brecken all along, she's shocked beyond words, but is thrilled to know that the man she wants actually wants her. This is a wonderful story of a protective and loving man and an independent, kicka$$ woman.
Wen Ross is one of my favorite narrators. His dynamic, emotional voice, solid pace and modulation of the story are perfect from start to finish and the characters feel alive.

This is a duo review. Both audiobook and ebook.

This book was narrated by Wen Ross. And was done superbly. Now don't be upset that Devon Wilcox didn't do this installment. It works for one simple fact.........it's not the original generation.

Cryptic Prophecy takes place many many years after The Impassioned Choice. With a new generation to boot and it hits the ground running. Darkrip and Aderin's precious Callie is all grown up now and this is her story and her prophesy. She sadly finds herself engaged to Zadicus. I think he's a cad because it seemed as though he used her insecurity of being unlovable to use her. I just don't like him. BUT on the other side of the coin we have Braken her bodyguard whom just drips with sex. Wink wink. I'm not going to spoil much of the plot, just know it has lots of twists and turns and of course sexy, sexy scenes (my favorite.)

DON'T MISS OUT ON THIS!!!!!
I've listened to and read #6.5 and #7 is gonna be AWESOME!

Callie is the daughter of Darkrip and the part of the prophecy that states she will align with Bakari and destroy the immortal world. Brecken is a vampire soldier who is the bodyguard to Callie’s love interest. Brecken is in the background and slowly falls for her as he watches over them. When her love interest betrays her on her bonding day, the truth comes out that Brecken was helping him write letters to woo her. When Callie figures out those words came from his heart, she begins to have feelings for the man who helped betray her. Keeping their relationship a secret, Brecken is hired to protect Callie as Bakari is out to get her.

Will Callie be able to resist the temptation to go to the dark side and help her uncle? Or will her slayer side win out? And what happens when Tatiana pays Callie a visit and with her riddles says that indeed Callie will join forces with Bakari?

This captivating fantasy-romance follows Calinda, a young woman caught between two worlds. Raised among humans but bound by an immortal prophecy, she struggles to find her place. When a charming suitor betrays her, she turns to Brecken, a loyal and protective Vampyre soldier who has loved her from afar.
The story beautifully blends romance, action, and destiny. Callie is a strong heroine determined to shape her own future, while Brecken’s quiet devotion makes him a compelling love interest. The world-building is rich, and the tension keeps the pages turning.
I listened to the audiobook, and this was the first in the series with a different narrator. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but Wes Ross did a fantastic job. I’ve heard him narrate other books before and have always enjoyed his voice.
This was a gripping read and a compelling blend of fantasy, romance, and destiny. Rebecca Hefner, delivers a captivating story of love, sacrifice, and self-discovery. I loved it. If you enjoy slow-burn romance and epic battles, you will love this book.

The Etherya’s Earth series has become my new obsession and book #6 The Cryptic Prophecy continues with yet another outstanding progression of the storyline as a new generation of Etherya’s children come into their own. This story focuses on the daughter of Darkrip and Arderin who has lived in the mortal realm with her parents but soon must adjust to a new life when they all return to the immortal realm.
With a future clouded by prophecy Calinda struggles to find her place within the immortal society as the final battle fast approaches between Deamon and Vampyre.
Wonderful writing, intricate world building and amazing characterizations weave a story of romance, adventure and enticing realms into a mesmeric and grand read!.

This whole series of books has been very entertaining, well written and packed with action. I enjoyed this book even more than the last two. This is the first story about the next generation of immortals, who are lucky enough to get their HEAs a lot sooner than their parents did (they all had to wait hundreds of years!). We get to know Callie and Brecken, as they deal with the citizens' suspicion of Callie due to the cryptic prophecy, and the immortals' fight with Bakari. We also get to enjoy revisiting most of the previous couples we fell in love with. The story is well-rounded, with romance (including sweet love letters!), steaminess and lots of action. I listened to the audiobook, and enjoyed the narration very much.

The Cryptic Prophecy gives us Calinda (Callie) and Brecken's story. Callie has always felt like she doesn't belong and the immortals around her have no problem showing her they fear her because of the prophecy. She just wants to feel accepted and loved. Zatticus has been courting Callie for all of the wrong reasons, while Brecken has loved her from afar. When the truth is discovered, it's just a little scheme in the bigger picture. Love is discovered in the unlikeliest of places, prophecies must be fulfilled, and lives will forever be changed. I absolutely enjoyed Callie's story not only because it was good, but because Callie is Arderin and Darkrip's daughter and it was good getting the story of one of the royal's adult children. I'm definitely looking forward to Tordor's story now that the barrier has been destroyed.

The Cryptic Prophecy, book six in the Etherya’s Earth Series begins the second generation’s stories and follows Arderin and Darkrip’s daughter Calinda, and Vampyre soldier Brecken. Set seven years after Heden and Sofia left the immortal realm, Callie and her family are back from the human world and Callie is set to bond with Zadicus, a known diplomat’s son. But when Callie begins to feel like something is wrong, will she be strong enough to call off her bonding ceremony? With Callie determined to change the events of the prophecy, she will need all her family and new allies to help her in her fight to change the course of a future foreseen. And when Callie needs help the most, will Brecken be the one she turns to?

What's the old tale about trying to escape your destiny only to run right smack into it? Yeah, that's this story.

Callie loves her family, she is loyal to her people, there is no way she will fulfill the prophecy that she will destroy the world as she knows it ... or will she. In her attempts to avoid that destiny, she discovers she doesn't control everything and that sometimes you don't have to.

Bracken is supposed to protect Callie's suitor, but he's used to woo her instead. When everything goes sideways, he has to prove to her that he can be trusted and that his feelings are real. All while trying to help her understand her role in the world.

This is the sixth book in the amazing Etherya's Earth series, a Paranormal Romance. This is an excellent second generation begins. Calinda and Brecken's story is suspenseful, action packed, and captivating. Calinda is daughter of Darkrip and Arderin from The Darkness Within (book #3). She is a wonderful character, intelligent, strong, caring, and determined. Brecken is handsome, and protective. Their story is entertaining, filled with twists and turns. I loved to see again the characters from the first books in the series. Wen Ross did an outstanding job with the narration. I enjoyed it. Looking forward for more in the series.

It’s nice getting to see the kids all grown up. I really hope we get a book for Jack. He’s been such a great character over the series, I want him to have his own HEA. Callie definitely reminds me of her parents so much. There’s so much overlap between her struggles and the her parents. We all knew Zadicus was no good for Callie. I’m glad she figured it out earlier rather than later. I really liked Brecken. He was a sweetie and his letters were so beautiful. I was not expecting things to play out like they did but it was a good thing.

The second generation to Etherya’s Earth doesn’t disappoint. Decades after the species war, the kids are grown. At the center of this generation is Calinda who is prophesied to end the world. It’s an emotion read with action and moments that will melt your heart. The narrator did wonderful in this book as well. She has narrated the previous series as well. A mix of romantic moments, some good drama and the paranormal good be evil war there is something for everyone. There is some heat to this book so be ready for some steam among the action!

We’ve learned of so many prophecies of Etherya’s Earth and seen the havoc they wreaked. I loved seeing all of our favorite characters nearly two decades later; how the relationships have thrived and the children have grown.
Callie and Brecken were endearing characters that I was rooting for the whole time. I loved their perspectives and how they differed a bit from the older generation.
Some of the text felt a bit like an information dump, but I still really enjoyed the story and audiobook version.

I loved this book. Great world building and wonderful characters. It's fun seeing the children from earlier books grown up now and finding their own happiness. I really loved Brecken. His loyalty and personality really resonated with me. I loved him as a match for Callie; though I was sorry she was hurt first to get there- but it all turned out for the best, of course.

I listened to this as an audiobook narrated by Wen Ross. I really like his voice- maybe even better than Devon Wilcox, who narrated most of the series.

Overall: 5 stars
Performance: 5 stars
