Beck’s back: horned, winged, tailed…and bloodthirsty, apparently. Fresh from hell and enlisted in the escalating war between heaven, hell, and the humans caught in between, flashes of memory are returning, and his instincts are driving him, and all of Golden Company, toward a final battle as old as time.
In the third book of the HELL THEORY trilogy, King Arthur will need his Guinevere and his Lancelot by his side. Rose comes to grips with the truth that she loves Beck and Lance; now she just has to see if they can figure out how to love each other.
Angels, demons, thunderstorms, hellspawn, and, finally, an OT3 realized, VANISH INTO LIGHT is a dystopian erotica novel featuring a M/M/F endgame romance, and is intended for adult readers.
There was a bit too much fire and brimstone talk in this final installment, but overall, it was a good ending.
I won’t lie, this was not my favorite series by Gilley (see reason above), however I still liked a lot of things about it! Both Beck and Lance were delicious, and amazing in their own ways — Beck was a bad boy (and we don’t realize just how bad until the very end of this series), and Lance was so good and steadfast, a total sweetheart (who didn’t know what hit him 😂), but that’s as far as the cliches went, there was no awkward love triangle phase (option one, option two, "oh no who shall I choose?") before the three of them became an item. 👌 I still maintain my opinion that Rose didn’t deserve them, but what can I do. 🤷♀️ I tolerated her by the end, but she’ll never be my favorite. 🙈 (And it’s not a threesome thing, it’s strictly a Rose-thing!)
People who love paranormal romance and angel/demon fantasy will enjoy these for sure!
I guess the devil really is in the details. I really enjoyed this trilogy. It's an interesting take on religion, heaven, hell, angels, demons, and the fight between good and evil -- wrapped very loosely in the robes of Camelot. I'm glad I picked it up!
Nobody can world build like Lauren Gilley. I absolutely love her stories whether they are MC romance or fantasy she delivers wonderfully written stories.
Beck, Rose, and Lance have come full circle. Beck is back from Hell but where does that leave Lance and Rose's relationship? Will Beck help close the rifts or does he have his own agenda? Angels, demons, hellspawn, and other lovely creatures come together to battle over humanity.
If you like fantasy and well written books with a little love play then this is the book for you.
Stunning finale! Wow! I did not see that coming at all!
Lots of action in this one. The whole gang trying to save the world. Loved the twists and turns. Ultimately I think I loved Michael the best. The epitome of compassion.
As always--love is love. So happy that this author lets us fall in love with her characters and accept them as they are.
i enjoyed this immensely. and i'll admit that what kept me interested in this series was the promise of the romance between rose/beck/lance. and gilley, as she does with everything, greatly delivered and i was not disappointed on that front.
that being said, the four stars is largely for the rushed feeling of the final installment and the sheer amount of typos. the latter became especially difficult to ignore, although i also found myself, at multiple points, panicking over the fact that i was growing nearer and nearer to the end of the story, and i didn't want it to finish.
gilley's already mentioned that she reserves the right to return to this story line, and i sincerely hope she does.
I hate to give a Lauren Gilley book a rating less than 4 but this book just didn't hit the spot for me. Despite managing to win me back for the last 50 pages I spent the larger part of the book just trying to push through to the end so I could pick up something more engaging. I struggled to put my finger on why I was so disinterested whilst reading this particular installment but I think it mostly had to do with my distaste for Beck (although I warmed to him by the end) and the speed at which Lance's feelings for Beck change without any believable buildup or preamble.
« Before Adam, and Eve, and the Original Sin, there had been Lucifer. »
I took my time to read book 3 and final installment in the Hell Theory trilogy. I loved this particular adventure. Nobody can build a story like Lauren Gilley. Her imagination is boundless. Her creativity so inspiring… Beck, Rose and Lance’s story was full of action, reaction, twists and turns, and emotion. I didn’t want it to end. I wasn’t prepared to say goodbye.
so arthur? angels? drugs? vampires too!? and poliamor!!?? oh non! to many themes for a novella... so very little development of each theme. Ex. we got some insta love to add the polyamorous theme 😕 En español : muchas manos en la sopa.
maybe if she would have skip the arthur and the vampire thing and kept the angels vs demons and maybe the polyamory with more development because it was fun and new and a great twist.
I loved this story so much. The characters stay with you when you're done reading. The apocalyptic twist on King Arthur was so good (and I don't like apocalyptic/dystopian type books). I'm honestly so sad this story is over, but this ending was satisfying and has ensured that the characters are embedded into my mind as some of my top favorites. ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND! I just wish I could buy a hardcopy!

Overall, this series was quite enjoyable. And different. You can't say that about many books or series these days. A book about a war between Heaven, Hell, and humans on Earth? With a romance element to it? Uh, sold. Oh, and it's written by Lauren Gilley. It's like a dream come true.
I really enjoyed the first two books in this series. Beautifully detailed and written, with amazing real characters. Unfortunately (for me), I was slightly disappointed with Vanish Into Light. The story and its conclusion were totally fine. I liked how it ended. I enjoyed the ride. A little quick at the end there, but still. Enjoyable.
My issue rests solely in the overall character direction of Lance. A great story though, and if Gilley comes back to this world, I'm ready!
