Escape to the sun-drenched island of Corfu this summer with this gorgeously uplifting romantic comedy, the second book in a brand-new series from the author of the Cornish Confetti Agency series.
Welcome to the Hummingbird Hotel!
When Abbie Coleman is asked to host a relaxing wellbeing retreat at the Hummingbird Hotel after a stressful photoshoot on board celebrity fashion designer Pierre Fontaine’s luxury yacht, she knows it’s the perfect opportunity to showcase the peace and tranquillity on offer in the gorgeous Corfu countryside. With outdoor yoga, chocolate-making classes, and wine-tasting tours on the itinerary, she hopes that her guests will leave feeling refreshed and invigorated, and keen to recommend the virtues of the hotel to their friends.
But this is the Hummingbird Hotel, and words like ‘straightforward’ and ‘stress-free’ do not feature on the promotional website. So, when a member of the local goat fraternity is discovered in a guest’s room munching on a pair of his paisley boxer shorts, and a delicious avocado and kale smoothie has unexpected soporific properties, Abbie must once again join forces with local vineyard owner, the movie-star-handsome Nikos Angelopoulos, to unravel the mystery and save the hotel from becoming the Greek version of Fawlty Towers.
Can she turn havoc into harmony? Or will her future on Corfu be over before it’s begun?
Daisy James loves writing stories with strong heroines and swift-flowing plot-lines. She especially likes to create sunshine-filled settings in exotic locations - the Caribbean, Tuscany, Cornwall, Provence - so she can spend her time envisioning her characters enjoying the fabulous scenery and sampling the local food and drink.
When not scribbling away in her peppermint-and-green summerhouse (garden shed), she spends her time sifting flour and sprinkling sugar and edible glitter. She loves gossiping with friends over a glass of something fizzy or indulging in a spot of afternoon tea - china plates and teacups are a must.
A book by Daisy James.....yes !! This was absolutely the type of summery book that I needed in this horrible weather! This is the second book in the series but can be read as a standalone
In this book we are back with Abbie Coleman, on the gorgeous island of Corfu , you can practically feel the warm on your skin as you read the book and feel like you are in Hummingbird Hotel.
We start this book with Abbie having to host a relaxing wellbeing class , surely that can't be too hard in such an amazing tranquil hotel , but nothing can be smooth running for our lovely Abbie! Follow her and see if she can manage to turn a complete chaos into an oasis of calm!
A brilliantly written book featuring characters that are so easy to adore and get totally wrapped up in. The story flows elegantly throughout and the characters bring so much joy and lightness to this book. Another brilliant book!
This is a nice light summer read about a small boutique hotel on Corfu. It is second in a series about a young English woman who inherits the hotel from her estranged aunt. She is beginning to become a part of the community and is particularly involved with a neighboring vineyard being run by a man who was trained as a chef before coming home to run the vineyard after his father's death. 3.5 stars
Couldn't finish as it just felt very similar to the 1st book. It seems the main character is always either anxious, nervous or their heart is fluttering at the idea of doing something. There also seems to be an ongoing "mystery" that could easily be resolved in one chapter rather than taking the whole book to do so. Won't continue with the series

My Opinion
This is the second book set at the Hummingbird Hotel but it would work as a standalone. Abbie is still trying to work out how to run the hotel she inherited from her late aunt. Once again Abbie feels the need to get to the bottom of her is causing havoc in her hotel to avoid her guests leaving a bad review.
This is a lovely, summery read. Nothing goes smoothly in this entertaining read. Check into the Hummingbird Hotel, you won't regret it.
Summer at Hummingbird Hotel is a delightful book with engaging characters and a storyline to fall in love with. A humorous, touching, romance perfect for summer reading.
Great second half to the book, got me so hooked I finished it so quickly, however felt like the beginning of the book was exactly the same story as the first one just with different characters, so felt a bit repetitive but the book itself is lovely.
