As the lead singer of a wildly popular industrial rock band, Cash Morris has never had to work too hard when it comes to women. They’re all falling at his feet before he even opens his mouth.

So when he walks into a small-town New Hampshire hotel and spots the manager, he expects her to do the same. Only, she doesn’t, and that leaves him intrigued.

Demi Stokes has seen enough deception to last a lifetime and has written off the possibility of ever getting serious with someone for good.

Cash, the rock star with killer good looks, an incredible voice, and playboy ways is the very definition of what she intends to steer clear of.

But Cash is used to getting what he wants. And he’s never wanted something as badly as he wants Demi. If he’s ever going to have a chance with her, he’s going to have to prove that he has every intention of protecting her fragile heart.

A.K. Evans is a contemporary romance author of over twenty published novels. While she enjoys writing a good romantic suspense novel, Andrea’s favorite books to write have been her extreme sports romances. That might have something to do with the fact that she, along with her husband and two sons, can’t get enough of extreme sports.

Before becoming a writer, Andrea did a brief stint in the insurance and financial services industry and managed her husband’s performance automotive business. That love of extreme sports? She used to drive race cars!

When Andrea isn’t writing, she can be found homeschooling her two sons, doing yoga, snowboarding, reading, or traveling with her family. She and her husband are currently taking road trips throughout the country to visit all 50 states with their boys.

Cash is immediately smitten with Demi, but he is a world-famous musician, and she is her. Demi also has years of baggage stored up, with no reason to leave it behind. I love how Demi makes Cash work for every inch of their friendship, tearing down walls slowly. I also love how Demi’s friends and family come to his defense on her taking the opportunity. Will she share her phone number? Will she realize, in time, to take the chance?

Thank you to the author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.

FTC DISCLAIMER: I RECEIVED AN E-ARC FROM THE PUBLISHER THROUGH ONE OF A VARIETY OF SOURCES. I VOLUNTARILY OFFER MY HONEST REVIEW OF THE BOOK, THOUGH IT IS NOT EXPECTED OF ME! RECEIPT OF THIS BOOK IN THIS MANNER DOES NOT AFFECT MY OPINION OF THE BOOK OR THE CONTENT OF MY REVIEW!

A.K. Evans' books are always ones I look forward to, because they're engaging and emotional reads that I can read quickly. With Persistent Clinical Depression making doing anything extremely difficult, the ability to get through a book in a day has become impossible for me. However, reading her books always gives me motivation to read, despite the fact that I was offered an advance copy of the book to read! This book made me both laugh and cry, and it was an absolute gem to read!

I loved Cash and Demi's romance! The slow burn was amazing and made seeing them get together finally all the sweeter for the wait! Cash was an amazing hero, and I loved how patient he was with Demi, he reminded me of my own spouse's actions with me! I clicked with Demi too, could actually feel her pain and hurt because of her father's actions. The plot really engaged me, and was just an all around feel good read! I highly recommend it!

This is such a beautiful romance. It was a hard fought battle for Cash to break down the walls and rebuild the confidence and mend the fragile heart of Demi. From the first time these two people meet you could sense that it was an immediate connection. But due to Demi's past she was a hard nut to crack. And I just loved the way Cash never gave up.

This book was a cat and mouse story that lasted for about 50% of the book. And it was quite enjoyable to read. The determination that Cash had was just swoonworthy. He never gave up and although he could have any woman he wanted. He didn't want any of them he wanted her. Demi fought hard against Cash and slowly but surely he began to make headway. But in true romance style nothing ever just happens and its all ok. With some crossed wires and a lot of tears Demi finally sees her worth and she's that the past doesn't define every man and doesn't make them all the same. Watching this love story evolve was so beautiful to read. I laughed and had lots of tears.

This is my first read by this author and its the start of a series. I loved it and I can't wait for the rest of the series. This book is a total recommend from me.

The first book in the Rock Stars and Romance series has you gripped and drawn into their world. Cash is the lead singer and a man who has had women falling at his feet with little to no effort at all. However it is Demi, the manager of small town hotel that catches his eye and intrigues him instantly. With a past of hurt and baggage to carry Demi is not looking for love. Theirs is a story of trust and proving yourself to ensure you can claim the heart that has attached itself to your soul. As the beat of their hearts has a rhythm all of its own, you will be taking on a journey packed full of emotions and passion. The attraction and chemistry between these two is intense and the sparks fly off the pages. As Cash slowly breaks down the barriers that Demi has had firmly in place you will be treated to some sweet heartfelt moments, steamy scenes and a love that just can't be denied. A great start to this new series that has you eagerly awaiting the release of the next book.

In her first year in high school she had gotten sick during the night, her mom a nurse was at work doing her night shift. So she went looking for her dad and found him in bed with another woman. Fast forward fifteen years she’s at a job she hates at a hotel when she meets Cash and the rest of the band. There was an incident going on like with her dad so when Cash made a move on her she shot him down. Cash tried and tried but she wasn’t having any of his moves. He left New Hampshire but he couldn’t stop thinking of Demi and it got to the point his member wasn’t working, he thought it was broken… I couldn’t stop laughing. Demi and Cash had great chemistry and I loved the lengths he’d go to. I also loved the members of the band, they were down to help Cash anyway they could. Can’t wait to read each of their stories. This story is sexy, steamy and so romantic. I loved that the happy ending wasn’t rushed and it was just delicious. I give this book five stars and highly recommend it. Can’t wait for the next book in the series.

Lead singer of a rock band falling for a regular girl is a great premise for a great novel. However, there wasn't much of a spark to make Fragile stand apart from other books in this genre. I enjoyed Fragile, but for me, it was a very predictable read.

The leading man Cash was a winning character. He was determined to seduce the reluctant Demi, and he pulled out all the stops. Demi, on the other hand, I found annoying for the first half of the book. She had baggage, so was understandable hesitant, but that thread of the story dragged out for too long.

Although frustrated with the slow pace, I was keen to continue with the book to see how it would end. Fortunately, the characters and plot improved, and I enjoyed the second half.

Who doesn't love a rock star romance?! I mean seriously, even if by some crazy chance you didn't like rock stars you will not be able to help yourself from falling in love with Cash Morris. And even better than that, you will love watching him fall in love with Demi. Demi has a lot of demons in her past and Cash has his work cut out for him convincing her to trust him but he is relentless and exactly what women dreams of. Cash has ruined so many other men for me now because I'm just not sure how they will best him.

This is the first book in the Rock Start & Romance series and I cannot wait to see where it goes. We are introduced to all the other members of the band and I am already dying for their stories. I am feeling really lucky right now that AK Evans doesn't make us wait long for her books

DNF - quit at 35%
While the premise of the story is doable, the execution was bad. The flow was too slow & the character development wasn't there. I felt like the main characters were in high school with all the angst, not 30+ year olds. The inner dialogue was in excess, to the point, the 35% I read felt like mostly inner dialogue. I didn't feel the "connection" between the 2 main characters to see him pursuing her like he was after she shot him down, that he was so sure she really liked him instead of hated him like she acted. I didn't see a connection of any kind at all. I really thought she hated him, or for her attitude, all men, except for her cousin Cal. For her trauma of men cheating, the last person she should move past it with is a rock star! I just couldn't do the angst/inner dialogue anymore. Needless to say, I won't read more in this series.

At my age (60), life is way too short & my time is too important to force myself to read a book I'm not enjoying, especially when there are so many other books out there waiting to be read.

So predictable.
Snowflake. That’s Demi.
Her dad was a cheat ergo, all men are cheats. Of course.
Cash laid himself bare for her. She was not appreciative.
And the tears? Such a snot bucket.
I didn’t hate the story, but I didn’t love it either. I hope
Beck’s story is better.

Cash Morris was instantly attracted to Demi from the first time he interacted with the sassy woman who continually turns him down. He’s intrigued, though, and thinks there may be something more, so he doesn’t give up - persistence is the key even though he knows his band is in the middle of touring and he can’t stay long in the small New Hampshire town.

Demi Stokes knows that Cash’s interest is only because she isn’t falling at his feet. He can’t really be interested, and he definitely can’t want a real relationship. She doesn’t believe men can be faithful after she caught her father cheating on her mother, and if her father could not be faithful, how could a gorgeous rockstar be when he has his choice of women in every city?

Cash’s persistence pays off, however, and they start getting to know each other long distance. And, I couldn’t love this slow burn aspect to the story more! But, can Cash convince Demi to take the leap of faith and trust in him that he wants her and no one else? And, what happens when that trust is put to the test?

This was a great first book in A.K. Evan’s new Rockstars & Romance series! Cash has swagger and is one cocky rockstar, but underneath, he is sweet and definitely hooked on Demi. I loved that he went to great lengths to get her attention and win her trust.

Demi has some serious trust and relationship issues. When she gives her heart, she does so fully, but, being in a long distance relationship with someone famous makes her doubt herself and Cash at times. Cash has his work cut out for him in the reassurance department for sure!

This couple is super hot once their slow burn hits a boiling point and I loved watching Cash and Demi find their way together across the miles in all the little ways that really matter. 4 stars!

Cash is the lead singer of My Violent Heart, the industrial rock band. When he first lays eyes on Demi, he’s intrigued by the fact that she is not falling all over herself to speak to him or get his attention, in fact, she won’t even seem to give him the time of day. He finds her intriguing, but also beautiful and he can’t seem to get her out of his mind. The few days the band is in NH he tries everything he can think of to get her attention and her phone number, but it’s a no go. She’s just not interested, or is she?

Demi has seen the pain and turmoil of a broken marriage and relationship from an early age. Her job as an adult has shown her more of it since she’s grown up and she is not going to give her heart to anyone, especially a rock star that has been in the news with many women and can have any woman he wants at any time. She may think that Cash is sexy, but she’s also convinced that he would not be faithful, and she would never put herself in that situation.

I'm not a huge fan of Rock Star Romances, but I am a fan of A.K. Evans and her writing, so I thought I’d read her new series Rock Stars & Romance. I was not disappointed at all. The characters were great, down to earth, kind, and determined. They are rock stars and live the rock star life, but they also have morals and there may be a secret within the band. I loved Cash and Demi’s story. Cash was determined and caring with Demi. While it took her a while to get on board with Cash, their road was not easy, but it was worth the trip. I love the characters in this new series, and I am looking forward to the rest of the stories. I really want to read Beck’s story, I can’t wait to see where the band members go and the relationships they find. I give this story a 5-star review.

So we first met Demi and Cash in the Road Trip series (Only in Dreams, to be specific), and I just knew that I wanted to know what would happen with them. I and pleased to say that their story was beyond even what I’d hoped for! She’s afraid to trust, he’s got the perfect player persona, and yet...they just work. Cash makes a point to put in the work and energy and time required to woo Demi, both her head and heart, and he’s not about to break what they’re building. And Demi, even with her caged up heart, can’t help but fall for the guy who makes sure she knows just how special she is. But can everything stay sunshine and rainbows? I mean, he’s a rock star. She’s an average Jane, in her mind. So will they make it, or will they end up broken?

I loved how this book introduced us to the band while focusing on the story of Demi and Cash, yet didn’t leave me feeling lost about anyone. The foundation is laid for a good series and a few possible plots for some, yet we don’t have high drama. But this author is kind of known for not going the route of OTT drama if she doesn’t have to. Instead, she weaves a story full of the perils of falling in love and manages not to let her readers break, no matter what comes their way. I see good things ahead in this series, and I can’t wait to see more of Demi and Cash.

Evans’s New Rockstar Romance is on Fire!
As a proud book nerd, I get really excited when one of my favorite contemporary romance writers begins a new series. And whenever A.K. Evans is that author, I feel like a kid at Christmas! “Fragile” is the first book in the Rock Stars and Romance lineup, and it features a cast of characters that was introduced in one of my favorite Road Trip Romances (“Only in Dreams”). Cash is a cocky, incredibly sexy rockstar - the lead singer of one of the hottest bands around - and he’s used to getting what he wants. When he walks into a small hotel in New Hampshire, he is completely blindsided upon meeting the beautiful and sassy front desk manager, and she may be one of the few women in the world who doesn’t seem affected by his gorgeous body or his soulful voice. Demi has some long-standing baggage, and she works extremely hard to guard her heart. She does an admirable job of keeping the determined Cash at arm’s length, but their instant and intense connection is difficult to deny for long. Along with some super sexy moments, there are so many heart tuggers in this story, and Cash has such a sweetness to him that is pleasantly unexpected. Between this tale and “Only in Dreams,” Evans does a great job of setting up just enough teasers for the remainder of the series, and I cannot wait to read Book 2!

A great start to what promises to be a brilliant new rock series. A.K. Evans not only knocked it out of the park with Cash and Demi's story, but she also has me invested in the rest of the series with the glimpse of what is to come with the other band members, while taken nothing away from the main event.

Demi is our Fragile heroine, when it comes to relationships she is very vulnerable, and not as you would think through a broken heart, but by what she experienced with her own parents, Demi now keeps men at a distance, but when Cash the lead singer of the band, My Violent Heart steps foot in the hotel she manages sparks fly from the start, Cash can't believe that Demi keeps giving him the brush of and when he leaves town without her number that should be the end of it, but he can't stop thinking about her, Cash knows he needs to tread carefully but he won't give up he just needs to prove to Demi he won't break her heart. Demi wishes her heart would listen to her heard and stay clear of Cash, but he won't take no for an answer, can she put her past behind and embrace the future, or will the life that a rock star leads be too much.

When we were first introduced to Cash, the lead singer of My Violent Heart, I knew his story was going to be fantastic. The brief glimpse we got when he was in Only in Dreams, the chemistry between Cash and Demi was undeniable. As we get more into their story Demi has to face her past insecurities and realize that Cash is the real deal. Sure he's a hot rock star but when he sets his sights on Demi, he knows there is more to her story. A little bit of a slow burn romance. Demi doesn't want to rush into things, but even she can't deny what she feels for Cash. When she finally gets her head straight, they are unstoppable. With any good story there are a few bumps along the way, but you know that it will be worth it in the end. Trust is a key element in this story. Demi is reluctant to trust anyone and can she trust one of the most famous rock stars who can have anyone they want? Cash can only do so much to try and convince her. What will it take for them to be together? This was a great start to this series and I can't wait for the rest of the group members. Definitely do yourself a favor and read this book! A+

A great start to the new Rock Stars & Romance Series by A.K. Evans.
This is lead singer Cash and hotel clerk Demi’s story and as you would expect it’s an entertaining read. Two people who couldn’t be more opposite learn to trust and love.
Cash is used to getting everything he wants after all who turns a cocky, confident lead singer down, well that’s exactly what Demi does and that means game on for Cash. What starts as a challenge soon becomes so much more but it’s going to take a lot of trust to make Demi put her father’s infidelity behind her, it’s going to take a lot of hard work to make her open up emotionally.
So is Cash only looking to win the fight or is he looking for a future, guess you need to read the book to find that out …..
This is a book with all the feels, it’s a steamy well written story with characters you want to get to know. It’s emotional yet entertaining and it’s got a wonderful feel good factor as this couple find the HEA they both so deserve. Great start to a new series.

Cash is the lead singer of a very popular band, so he's never had any issue with getting any woman he wants. However, he steps into a small-town hotel where the manager stuns him, and he wants her so he thinks she's feeling it as well. YAY for #GIRLPOWER though as Demi sure didn't want anything to do with him. See, Demi has some issues with relationships so she decided she would be single for the rest of her life, and Cash is throwing up all kinds of red flags for her. He wants her, she doesn't want him so you already know that this is going to be fun because there's nothing better than the male ego getting shot down LOL! They do have chemistry but he's going to have to walk through the fire for her but is he in it to win it?! You know what to do to find out! I really love this author's writing style so I'll never get enough of her as she never fails to draw me into her world, and I'm super excited for this new series to be honest so bring on the next book! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

She has done it again and I have a new series to OBSESS over 😍

Demi & Cash story is a love story that has a main theme. Which is trust and Demi has a tattoo of Trust on her wrist. Their is a scene that is certained around that tattoo and it broke my heart 😪 Cash healed my heart and he also healed Demi.

Demi has a fragile heart and her best friend & cousin help her to open up more. I wnat their story too and I know they are a couple but I want to know how it started. However her mam did give that kick up the bum go get that man!

Cash is a good man and he is patient with Demi. He never gave up on her and he knew his actions spoke more louder than his words. I love the banter he had with his band mates especially about that his "dick is broken"😂 don't we figured why it's broken its called not seeing Demi.

Now I am sorry Demi & Cash your love story was great BUT I just want Beck & Chasey story !! Their first scene together I knew that them two are meant to be and their story will be epic. Their story is NEXT!

I'm writing this review for United Indie book blog

This was such a good book and a good start to get to know the members of My Violent Heart. While I loved Cash and Demi, my mind is all ready for Holland and Walker's story. I mean I loved how all the other members talked about them and how it seemed something was going on between them. Back to Demi and Cash.. Demi was a hard nut to crack in this book. Cash was a man obsessed and Demi was closed off to a relationship. Something in her past has closed her up but a push from her mom and her friends make her do things she would never do. Cash is determined when it comes to Demi. He doesn't want the groupies anymore, he's ready to settle down and have a relationship. His band mates are somewhat supportive of his obsession over her but he needs to find the happy middle. Demi is his muse and the one he wants to settle down but she doesn't make it easy on him. She has her walls up and Cash breaks them down one by one. This was a great book with characters you will love and want more of!!

In this book, we meet Cash who is the lead singer of a rock band. When he and his band mates walk into their hotel, Demi is there working as the hotel’s manager. They’re all distracted with another couple’s argument when Cash sees Demi and is immediately infatuated with her and starts flirting. Demi is having none of it, much to everyone’s surprise. Cash is used to women falling at his feet so when Demi doesn’t flirt back he is intrigued even more.
Demi has a huge amount of baggage that comes from her parents’ failed marriage and major trust issues when it comes to romantic relationships. Despite this, Cash persists in his pursuit of her and eventually breaks through her walls, though not without some major bumps along the way.
Even though Cash was interested in Demi as soon as he saw her and they had great chemistry, it was more of a slow burn romance that I very much appreciated.
This was a great beginning to what is promising to be a fantastic new series. Cannot wait for book two!

I have so many issues with Demi like I get you had issues with your dad but that does not mean every guy will be like your father. And ugh, the miscommunication trope was not done well in fact the only thing that redeemed it was Cash. Cash gets four stars because he had the most growth in the book and he was willing to fight for Demi regardless of her many issues (and there are many).
I won’t say much more except it is a tad predictable and low key angst. The romance was semi sweet but it also felt like zero to sixty especially since Demi was fighting it every step of the way until she talks to her mom and decides to risk it all. I mean don’t get me wrong I love that sex isn’t all their relationship was, but Cash called Demi out (and I love the man for doing it because it was exactly what I thought the entire book).
Okay ending review before I actually spoil something which is easy because Demi is a goddamn broken record and Cash is the needle trying to make the record play.

Demi & Cash
I’ve looked forward to their story since I read Only in Dreams (Sam and Cal; her best friend and cousins story).
Demi is protective of her heart. She had something traumatic happen as a teen that leaves her not trusting of men.
Cash is the lead singer in a band and so smooth, persistent and incredibly sweet.
Demi fears anything with Cash because of what she knows of him from the media, but meeting Demi has changed Cash in a big way.
Cash just says everything right all the time. He is incredibly swoon worthy and your constantly wondering how Demi has the resolve to turn him down as much as she does. When they come together though they just fit and it’s so incredibly sweet.
I absolutely love AK Evans writing style and books. I’m guaranteed to get a warm happy feeling reading them.

This is an anticipated story ever since I read Demi and Cash in Cal and Sam's story (Only In Dreams). We can already get the gist of their story from that book and this felt like a continuation to their story. I definitely needed to know what had happened to Demi for her to be so jaded and sceptical about love and relationship.

This man was everything I never thought I’d want. I had been so focused on who I thought he was that I missed feeling this. And while it still terrified me to think that I’d risk my heart with someone like him, I couldn’t deny it any longer. I wanted to give him the chance to change my mind about men.

Cash has his work cut out for him. It's definitely not easy for him to change Demi's notion of love and to trust him with her heart. But he is a persistent and determined guy. And he wants Demi although he could have any woman he wanted. Their story is filled with lots of back and forth, banter, and sexual tension. This is a fun and heartwarming read.

This is the 1st in a new series and what a great beginning Cash and Demi’s story is. Cash is the lead singer of a popular rock band, and he is used to women falling at his feet without having to work for it. Demi has baggage and after being hurt in the past she is not looking for relationships or love. When Cash comes into the small-town hotel and spots Demi who is the manager, he is intrigued with her as his charms are not having any effect on her. Demi makes sure that Cash works hard for her attention, and he knows he needs to prove himself to her that he can be trusted, and he pulls out all the stops in his pursuit. This is a well written story which is a touching story with emotions, trust, engaging characters, and is an endearing and entertaining love story. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

Fragile is a great start to a new Rockstar series! When I read Only in Dreams this summer I knew I needed to read Fragile. Demi and Cash were both introduced then and my curiosity was sparked about how things would go down between them.

Demi - has her heart guarded with a massive wall. After experiencing hurt and unfaithfulness between her parents, she has vowed to not allow herself to fall in love. Cash and his band walk into the hotel Demi works at and Cash is immediately intrigued with Demi. Cash being in one of the hottest bands and a handsome guy isn't used to ladies turning him down. He has to work hard to even get Demi to talk to him and it isn't all done in one night or even a few days. There was a lot of push and pull the first half of the book but overall I enjoyed the book and am looking forward to rest of the series.

If you love slow burn rock star romances, fragile is a great book to dive into. Lead singer Cash encounters Demi at the hotel she works at and instantly feels an attraction to her. Demi knows who he is and refuses to fall at his feet especially after a traumatic encounter in her childhood when she discovered her father cheating on her mom who was at work. This event and watching scum bags at the hotel has built up a wall that can feel immovable at times for anyone to crack to get to Demi's heart. But Cash refuses to let that stop him and is determined to win her affection. I enjoyed this book and especially how focused Cash was on Demi. He could easily have as many women as he wants and is set on her. Demi obviously had a lot of heartbreak to work through to give Cash a chance but eventually she wants to take that leap with him. I'm looking forward to the rest of this series!

Could not get into it

I really wanted to like this. I was intrigued in the beginning, but then Demi just ruined it for me. She was so damn annoying. I cannot stand this trope - girl sees her father cheat and therefore concludes that ALL men are lying, cheating jerks. She’s NEVER going to fall in love with a man because, what's the point? He’ll just hurt her. In all her 30 years, she doesn't know any other successful couples? Why is she so excited that her Bff and cousin get together if all men just eventually cheat? I don't know what Cash saw in her, quite frankly. And then, even after being so patient with her, and doing his best to convince her that he's the one for her, the first time there's a bump in the road, she immediately thinks the absolute worst, doesn't give him a chance to speak and is willing to throw it all away.
