Love in Chaos

Rate this book
After the world’s population is nearly wiped out, Maggie has been able to protect herself—until now. Captured in the dead of night, she is offered to a man. A leader. Only this man isn’t a stranger. Three years ago, he was the first man she ever had a crush on. Her teacher.

Clayton would recognize Maggie anywhere. In all his years, Maggie was one who got under his skin. He thought she was dead, perished like so many others. But she’s back, and he’s not going to let her go. He wants every single part of her, hoping she won’t hold back.

She always imagined love, but she must settle for what she can get. When Clayton realizes his carelessness and that his woman could be pregnant, he screws up. His fears keep him from admitting his love for her.

Heartbroken, Maggie plans to have her baby, but she’ll protect her heart from Clayton. Is it too late, or does he already have the key to her heart?

Sam Crescent is passionate about fiction. She loves a good erotic romance and so it only made sense for her to spread her wings and start writing. She began writing in 2009 and finally got that first acceptance in 2011 by Total-E-Bound.
She loved creating new characters and delving into the worlds that she creates. When she’s not panicking about a story or arguing with a character, she can be found in her kitchen creating all kinds of havoc. Like her stories the creations in the kitchen can be just as dubious but sometimes things turn out great.

The world is ending and you have a shot at your unrequited love. Why not taking it since the world order is collapsing? Who would've told you that loving your teacher/student is wrong since no rule applied anymore right?

The book was slow-paced with good characters. The H was someone with morals who tried to look savage to protect his group/pack. The h was someone who used to be timid and sweet but forced to be tough due to circumstances. The plot was predictable but enjoyable. It was slow-paced and delving more into feelings; less survivalist story. It was a good and sweet story of getting your chance with your crush.

Three years ago – when she was barely eighteen – the world as everyone knew it ended. Maggie had travelled, mostly alone and avoiding men, and until now had survived far beyond her expectations. Kidnapped while she was sleeping, Maggie is dragged as an “offering” and she’s completely shocked when she’s dragged before her old History teacher – and major crush – Mr Knight. She hadn’t expected him to remember her at all, but he does, and now the world has ended there’s nothing stopping either of them from acting on their very mutual, very adult attraction.

Readers will need to understand that this is set is a very harsh, post-apocalyptic world. There are no hearts and flowers here, no rainbows and glitter or soft, sweet world and gentle love-making. Readers who want a softer or more romantic style of story probably won’t be very satisfied with this quick read. It took me a moment to adjust my own expectations of this story, but once I did I found it an interesting albeit harder read than I had expected. I was surprised how in such a harsh and forbidding world the author did a decent job of creating a sense of intimacy – albeit one heavily laced with survival and the human instinct to band together, not a more traditional style of romance – between Clay and Maggie.

While much of the intimacy – at least initially – wasn’t overly romantic to my mind, I was really pleased when as Clay and Maggie worked together to survive and keep their crew safe and fed they slowly really did begin to built a more lasting relationship together. With the world so completely different to what we’re used to this relationship and the romance/attachments that grew weren’t what anyone could feel were standard or traditional, but I slowly came to believe with more and more strength that both Clay and Maggie truly did love each other and that their bond could survive through anything.

By the end of the story I was not only convinced that Clay and Maggie were perfect for each other, but I really genuinely believed they had a healthy and loving relationship together. That was an awesome high note for me to end this quick read on and while I admit this won’t be good for all readers, those who want something completely different and enjoy post end-of-the-world style of stories I feel it’s well worth the effort to read this.

A good albeit quite different style of story.

Loved this short story of Clayton and Maggie. The world as we know it has ended and survivors are left scrambling to stay alive. Captured and taken to Clayton as payment for a debt, Maggie is shocked to see who he is. He's also shocked as he thought she had probably died with all the other millions of people. Can she trust him to keep her safe? And will he keep her for himself? Even though this was a shirt read, you get a lot of story packed in it. I would love to see Lee get her story as she really intrigued me.

great read

This is one of Sam Crescent’s Curvy Women series books.
This is a story based on an apocalyptic tale and the band of survivors that remain.
It was a well written book with the hardships that exist with day to day survival and safety. Maggie has been alone for three years when she is violently kidnapped and brought to a band of people. The head of this group,Clayton, was actually her high school teacher from three years ago. He was always aware of Maggie as an 18 year old student, but never acted on it. She always had a crush on this teacher.
The story progresses as this band of survivors called the crew, try to find a place to set down roots and start to grow their lives and community.
Clayton and Maggie fall in love and there are several intensely emotional scenes and they are on fire as a couple.
It was particularly interesting to see what the crew runs across in each new town and location as they search for a semblance of normalcy.
I really enjoyed this book. Not your typical romance, but very interesting

Maggie has had it tough. Her parents are gone and she is on her own. She has been hiding but when she is caught she is tossed to someone from her past, Clayton Knight. She had a crush on him since high school and now he plans to use her. Clayton hadn’t seen Maggie in 3yrs. He never thought he would see her again. But when she is given to him, he isn’t about to let her go. But Clayton makes a simple mistake. When she asks if he loves her he blows it off. This isn’t a slow burn. This is head on, in your face. It is like the Apocalypse has happened and now we are all struggling to survive. Clayton acted like most, answers now emotions later. But he was in for a tough time. A lot of Love You’s later and things are finally good.

First things first; I really like the cover of this book!
Love in chaos is the latest release in the ‘’curvy women wanted’’ series. This story is short, fast paced and an enjoyable read. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline enjoyable. With the world in chaos, their isn’t many people alive. It’s a fight to survive. When Maggie reconnects with someone from her past, sparks fly.
The chemistry between Clayton and Maggie is clear to see and I liked them together.
I really liked the ending and the epilogue for this story.
The storyline for this book is easy to follow and it is an enjoyable read. I cannot wait for more books from this series.

I enjoyed it. It's like "The Happening" with sex.

Maggie (virgin) has been in hiding since the big "event" wiped out most of the worlds population. She's captured by a survivalist group run by her former teacher, Clayton (leader, protector). Turns out, Maggie is the only student that had ever turned Clayton's head. And what do ya know - Clayton is the teacher Maggie had a crush on in high school.

The second she's brought to him, he takes her inside and f*cks her. That's my favorite part! 😈 😁 😁 😁

So the group goes on a journey trying to find a place to stay and build a new life. They accomplish that. Mild angst, then a HEA.

I love short books like this that not only have plenty of sex, but also have a dominant male dedicated to his lady love.

🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩

Kind of like a MAD MAX world. Maggie was a young girl when the world changed. Clayton use to be her teacher, but after the change it wasn’t taboo to be together. Once they reunited, the relationship when in warp speed. Lots of hot encounters…. They found a stable place for their crew. It was one big happy family

This was a short and interesting read. I loved the storyline, it was unusual and entertaining, and the characters were likable. There is some drama between the main characters, well more like a misunderstanding but they get their HEA.

Great Armageddon type story

It was a good story. Easy to get into. Only thing lacking in my opinion is the ending. The end was very abrupt compared to the rest of the story. You don't even realize it is the end. It felt like ok I'm out of time "the end"

The journey that the small band of survivors take is similar to the journey of emotional rescue that Maggie and Clay experience. They both come to realize that despite their age difference, they are perfectly suited to each other. They've found a home in each other's hearts just like they find a place to call home for their people.

"A student having a crush on a teacher was such a cliché."

This story had so much wasted potential! The set up was so intriguing, the dystopian world sounded interesting and complex. The main characters are fantastic with an intriguing history and wonderful chemistry. So much could have been done with them. But instead of a nice long story we get a quick, rushed, superficial summary. It seems more like a proposal for a real book and not the book itself. Everything that should have been here is missing. Even the development of their relationship was rushed or missing. Instead we have the set up and the conclusion with the rest of the story implied. So disappointing! This should have been an epic novel with mystery, intrigue, action and lots of character development and growth. We should have gotten to see these two grow close and fall in love amid the chaos of the world, like the title says. But it's just not here. Hopefully one day Sam will take this short idea and expand it into the true story just begging to be told. That will be a book worth waiting for and reading. Sam, are you listening?
