Her enemies are coming, and they’re out for blood.
Lina thought the threats of her past would die along with Mataius. She should have known better. Nothing in her life is ever easy.
Nord and Lina may have dealt with her murderer, but along the way they also managed to land themselves at the top of several shit lists. Now the Drakes, the Brotherhood, and even the mysterious King of the Underground, Crombie, all want a piece of them.
One unhappy supernatural order they could probably handle. All of them at the same time? Not so much.
Especially not after discovering the Drakes' grisly message or Nord’s parting gift from the Director.
The truth is, Lina and her friends are outnumbered, outgunned, and outmatched. Thankfully, her uncle left them a clue that may just be the key they need to turn the tide. Before they can decipher it, however, they'll need to find a safe place to regroup.
But where do you go when there’s nowhere left to hide?
'WORLD OF DANGER' is the heart-pounding third installment in the Undercover Magic series, and it picks up right where 'Face of Danger' leaves off.

Book three picks up where book two ended and we're immediately hit with the sad. But there's also not enough time for the sad, because enemies are closing in, so our heroes have to think fast and figure out where to go and regroup.
Could the answer be closer than they think? But what if it's dangerous? How far will they go to keep each other safe? And more importantly, will they manage to?
World of Danger was like a 3-in-1 present for me. May Day, Orthodox Christian Easter and almost-but-not-yet-graduation.
I know I listened to the Face of Danger audiobook about a month ago so it hasn't been THAT long since I last saw everyone, but I missed them anyway. They're my babies.
Some of my favourite things from this one:
1. The ghost spell. You'll know what I mean when you read it. It was so wholesome and sweet and I want it.
2. Novasgard. It was so cool to see a different "place" and learn more about where Nord is from. I'll be honest and say I was expecting purple skies and cotton candy coloured trees-YEAH WELL. WELL. I don't mind that there's no purple sky, because there's wyverns. Also Novasgard has Astrid. I love her.
3. Crombie. He was not excluded!!! AND THAT ENDING...EXCUSE ME MEG, ARE YOU TRYING TO RUIN A PERFECT SHIP WITH THOSE WORDS? I KNOW YOU ARE. I am, once again, asking for a Crombie spin off, if he lives long enough.
4. Maaaagiccccccc. I think there's more of it? It's used differently.
5. Transference. Ties into point above.
6. Quinley. I can't wait until they're finally together. Fingers crossed for Promise of Danger.
7. And of course, Nord and Lina and their bond. And badassery. And steam. And how when you think you've seen eternal love, you really haven't until you've met these two.
I'd like to see more of Novasgard, one visit was not enough. There's so much to explore still. Thankfully, there's two more books on the way.
Cora gets a special mention because she found her way into my heart after what she did in the beginning. MORE CORA! I think they need a motherly figure (who just so happens to be one of their actual mothers) now that Alistair is gone.
Enemy count: one down, two to go.
I will now be suffering until September. And I also will not shut up about this until then. You have been warned.
Did I read the ebook at the beginning of May? Yes. Did I listen to the audiobook a mere month later? Also yes. And I still haven't had enough of the world.
These books are some of my favourites of all time and the audios make them even cooler. Both narrators are standardly good, perfect really.
That ending scene STILL gets me. It's criminal to test my ultimate ship like that Meg, don't you know? I'm so excited for the next book, and the audio.
I fell into the Underworld Magic series just days before receiving the ALC to Book 3: World of Danger. What in the world was I doing sleeping on this series?!?! So fun, so imaginative & absolutely full of all the things I love in PNR: Witty Banter, magic made for the movie screen, and steamy words performed by some of my favorite voice actors.
Meg Anne’s writing is absolutely superb! Normally I am not a fan of 3rd person POV, but here it just feels like you are carried away into their dialog instead of stuck in a narrative with too much description of things that do not matter. In the case of Meg Anne’s writing you get all the clues you need to form the absolute perfect movie in your mind for the twists and turns in the storyline. I could not be happier with the flow of the story & the character development just grabs you from Book 1 and doesn’t stop in Book 3. What awaits us in Book 4 is going to be one hell of a ride to wrap up this first part of the series.
Did I say first part? Yes, because I never want this to end! Not only are you taken through the relationship building for Lina and Nord, but Meg Anne’s side characters of Finley and Quinn are absolute break-out stars in their own right. This may be partially due to the BRILLIANT narration performance from Shane East and Stella Hunter. Their delivery of all the lines from Nord’s accent & Finley’s swagger to Lina’s sweet but kick butt sass and Quinn’s drop-dead sarcasm are absolutely perfect together! The team of these two narrators and writer are not to be missed.
I hate being that reader.... but.... i NEED more! That was amazing! I loved the back stories that were woven perfectly into the story. I loved the action and dramatics. I really loved the banter between Lina and Nord... so much! I love Quinn with all of my heart. I have mixed feelings about Crombie... odd since he’s basically a slimy bad guy but so true. I have come to really love all of these main characters and I cannot...I mean cannot wait to see where this goes from here! I received so many answers but now have a ton more questions that need answering!
Well, wow, this made my little paranormal geeky heart jump. I´ve been hooked to this series from the beginning and World of Danger, Book 3 of Meg Anne´s Undercover Magic series is probably my favourite in this series yet. This paranormal romance is just so different and nothing I have read/listened to before. Meg Anne created this whole enchanted, suspenseful, thrilling world with an interesting storyline, intriguing mystical fun characters, and the right amount of witty, swoony and steamy moments. Talk about steam, Nord and Lina´s love continues to sizzle with some steamy berserker passion.
After Face of Danger (Book 2) ended with a shocking discovery that leaves Lina distraught, the foursome, Nord, Lina, Quinn & Finley are on the run and hiding from their adversaries including the Fae King to whom Lina owes a favor. They seek refuge and find it in another realm, Nord´s home Novasgard. I love that we get to know a bit more about Nord and where he comes from.
They discover more secrets which lead them to more information on how to bind Lina´s powers which could have a disastrous outcome if it fails. Their foes still close behind forcing them to make decisions and just when they thought they beat one battle, the next moment leaves us with another Meg Anne style cliff hanger.
I am seriously in love with this series I love the dynamic between the characters, their teasing banter and chemistry. I have a lot of love for Quinn & Finley as their chemistry is also insane with the right build-up for more, so I am hoping they get their own book.
Speaking about chemistry, this audio performance is a dream, especially with duet narration. The interaction, comedic timing, emotions, and dynamic of all characters was incredibly brought across by Stella Hunter and Shane East. *Chef´s Kiss*
Good lord, listening to Shane unleash Nord´s Berserker rage in that Norse accent plus the growls and whispers gave me goosebumps. I also love how he portrays Finley´s cockiness. His whole performance is just spellbinding.
Stella is also fantastic! She delivered an amazing performance bringing Lina & Quinn to life. Her voice just fits delivering all the sass and emotions of these characters, especially for cool snarky Quinn.
This book, hell this series is just magical & such a good time.
I believe Meg Anne's gambit is to run my emotions through a wringer, and for me to come out on the other side thrilled about it!
The opening of World of Danger brought me right back to the very brink of gut wrenching angst that Face of Danger left me teetering on. But Lina has Nord and Quinn to keep her grounded, and Nord realizing just how important Quinn is to Lina's well being made me happy. Who doesn't want their significant other to like their friends? Speaking of, Quinn and Finley's flirty banter had me snort-laughing at times, well-dispersed among all the action and suspense. Meg Anne's new hidden world within a world was a welcome surprise, giving Nord greater depth, while learning of his family and homeland. The will Lina is gifted takes some deciphering, and the hunt for the Codex isn't easy, but we get more backstory on her as well. Even with the societies after them, and Lina owing Crombie, they stick together, and group-wide grow & get stronger. I love the side characters, and can't wait for Quinley to ship & to get more time between the sheets...of paper! Speaking of... The spice factor between Lina & Nord is singe-worthy; they are absolutely combustable! I can't wait for the next installment & really can't wait for it to be brought to life with Shane & Stella's spectacular voices! Thanks for leaving me teetering again, O' Queen of the Cliffies!
I received an ARC through the author and Booksprout, and chose to leave an honest review.
I love this series. It’s thrilling, suspenseful, action packed, filled with magic and some very sexy moments! Nord and Lina are so perfect for each other. I love the push and pull between them and their banter is sweet, sexy and hilarious at times.
“When it comes to you, there is nothing I wouldn’t do. No sin I wouldn’t commit. The world could be on fucking fire, and I would let it burn down around us if that is what you wished…Fall apart if that is what you need. I will be here to put the pieces back together when you’re done.”
Ugh, how can you not love Nord when he says things like that!!
This story kept me on the edge of my seat with anticipation of what would happen next and what trouble the four of them (Nord, Lina, Quinn and Finley) were going to get themselves into next. I love these characters as they add so much fun, spiciness, and sass to the story. They take us on such an amazing journey that we don’t want to leave.
Always fantastic storytelling that is filled with such amazing imagery, phenomenal characters that you can’t help but love, and a storyline that is rife with twists and turns throughout to keep us readers holding our breath until the next part of the story comes out.
I’m not even remotely surprised I loved this book. I’ve just come to terms that once I start reading anything Meg writes, I am to just, enjoy the ride and world. No other opinions. The undercover magic series, is different and so deep than things I’ve currently been reading. There is that sass, that humor, the twists and turns you come to expect with her writing. It’s so descriptive, I can imagine the world in my head. I love the animals Meg creates. They are fun and intense. Her characters, you want to be their friends. The characters enemies you want to jump into the book to help defeat them. It’s just a blast to read and it helps escape the mundane world for a while. I thought I was getting a surprise in the end of this book but surprise twist had me like ‘oh my gawd’. I can’t wait for the next book in the series. It’s no doubt going to be amazing. If you love adventure and descriptive world building check this book out, or Meg Anne’s work in general!
Book 3 in the continuous story of Nord and Lina. You have to read it in order for it to make sense.
Nord and Lina are in a giant game of Whack-A-Mole, to the end of book two we have multiple unresolved issues and they just keep popping up to get in their way. In the end, though one might be resolved, the thread tied off and out of the way, there are always more to pop up and block the path to happiness for these two and their friends.
Through this book we learn more about Nord's past, where he came from, the people he left behind and we see what they became over time. It's a nice interlude where we get a chance to breathe, but eventually the team learns what needs to happen next to work towards the end of all the various conflicts in their path and sets out to resolve them.
In the end we are on another cliff waiting to see what is next up for our couple when all they want to do is be happy together.
I requested and was provided with a copy of the Undercover Magic 1 audiobook box set (Books 1-3). These are my honest opinions.
And the heat continues with Nord and Lina. Nord will do anything to protect Lina and that includes facing his long, long ago past. He isn't just a brute though this viking is as gooey as them come on the inside. I truly feel they have made it to my top 10 loved couples. And for those that are not hard-core readers, this is a big contest. This book doesn't disappoint it has intrigue, romance (hot hot), action and wonderfully constructed smart-ass humor. Also Quinn and Fin are absolutely priceless, you'll want friends like them. Hope you enjoy as much as I did.
This series really pulls you in! I’m completely invested in what’s going to happen with Lina, Nord, Finley, and Quinn. Remember when Paris Hilton coined the phrase “that’s hot”? Yeah I found myself muttering that very thing whenever Nord’s Berserker raged through. Talk about Alpha with a capital A! I love Lina and Nord’s relationship. Their mutual love and support is total goals. I’m also rooting for Finley and Quinn to be an item. I think they’re great for each other.
Shane East and Stella Hunter bring this series to life! Complete dynamic duo!
Just wow! Never imagined the path Lina and Nord are on! So full of action, steam, travel, steam, love, laughter and so much more. Looking forward to the next book to see where it goes. Also can’t wait to see what happens with Finley and Quinn. Hurry, September, or early release!
Fan-freakin-tastic!! I cannot get enough of Lina and Nord. Their relationship just grows and we get to see the real bond between them become Life goals! Plenty of ups and downs & a rollercoaster ride of emotions as their journey continues. This series is amazing and has kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. I cannot wait to see what happens next! 💜🖤
Look. I’m not going to lie, this one took me a few days to get in to. This doesn’t reflect on the author or the book itself. This was just all me and not being able to concentrate. Normally if I can’t concentrate on the book it’ll be a DNF. But I stuck with it mainly cause I love Meg Anne’s books as much as I love cheese. And am I currently thanking myself for never giving up on it! Meg always manages to out do herself with every new book she writes. EVERY DAMN TIME! I’ve said this once and I’ll continue to say it. But this one is my new favourite book written by this talented, lovely and perfect author! Is it to early to start to demand the next one now? Asking for a friend
I loved so many different aspects of this book that just highlighted how and why Nord and Lina are perfect for each other. There is such a sweetness and strength in their relationship that has me melting when they talk to each other and laughing when they spar with each other. Nord (and Quinn) do a great job of helping Lina keep her head on straight and her focus on her task, so she doesn’t spend all her time wallowing. I highlighted so many favorite lines between all of them!
Getting to learn more about Nord’s past as a Novasgardian and more about the history of the Animagus and Lina’s place among her people was so cool. I absolutely love back stories and Meg Anne did a great job of peppering some in around all the action and mischief!
I’m shipping “Quinnley” pretty hard after reading this! Those 2 are so cute in their banter back and forth, it makes me want more! One of my favorite series by Meg Anne is the Keepers Series because of the Guardians! I absolutely loved getting to see more of the inner workings of the Guardians life. World felt like so many questions from Hint & Face got answered, only to open it up for more questions I need answered! I am really looking forward to Promise and how Crombie is going to insert himself even more into Lina’s story.
If you have not read Meg Anne yet and you are looking for a new favorite Paranormal Romance filled to the brim with steam, berserker rages and amazing characters, go grab Face of Danger now and get caught up!
Danger is starting to become second nature for Lina and the gang because no matter where they go it follows! As they venture on they start to uncover more hidden truths and dark secrets!
Lina and Nord’s bond only grows but so does the danger lurking in the dark!
What I loved about this novel was getting more of a glimpse of Nord and where he comes from!
Wooo lordy, this book was a ride! So intense, it kept me on the edge of my seat, practically holding my breath, to see what happened next! I absolutely love these characters. Lina and Nords relationship and Quinn and Finley’s remarks back and forth. And that ending?! Eeep! I need the next book pronto!
Meg, what did you do to me? This book picks up without missing a beat and man are you in for an amazing adventure. You will be sucked in and will not be able to stop reading once you start. I absolutely love this book and series
My love for these characters keeps growing! There was a lot a to digest in this one, but it was well delivered! Funny with some action fight scenes. Can’t wait for more!
The third book in the Undercover Magic series continues the series wonderfully - our main characters now seeking refuge from their myriad enemies, and the loss of a beloved character drive the heart of this book. The bond and relationship between Lina and Nord continues to grow and strengthen, as well as be tested on dangerous and magical level. The action continues to be on point, as does the fantastic banter. There are some very interesting twists as the book comes to a close, once again setting up a great story for the fourth book, which will appear to be much more centered around Cromby, as the Fae comes to collect on the debt owed to him by Lina. The friction created between him and the other characters, especially Nord, is fantastic, and it’s going to be a great component for the next book in the series. The new magical developments that happen at the end of the book will also add a very delicious undertone to the story going forward as well - very much looking forward to it.
As always, the story is great - it moves quickly, with plenty of action, tons of banter, and plenty of steam...all the ingredients for a book that will keep you wanting more.
Audiobook review - Once again, the duet style narration, and these narrators in particular, are perfection. I absolutely adore these books, and the narration just makes them all the better. Absolutely recommend them, if you enjoy a good audiobook.
I need more Lina, Nord, Finley and Quinn! Oh, my, these are four of my favorite characters to read and hear because they are entertaining, grumpy, hysterical, kick-butt, feisty, swoony and hot! Meg Anne not only makes them better with each book, but I swear each of her books get better, too.
The Undercover Magic series is full of sass, witty banter, humor, action and adventure, as well as steam and heart. I swear, Lina and Nord are downright combustible! I don't know how Finley and Quinn can stand to be in a room with them anymore. In this volume, Nord has lost some of his powers, but he's still powerful, and we see what a force he is to be reckoned with. Luckily he's surrounded by a group of friends determined to do this job together. I can't wait for more from this crew.
The narration, by Stella Hunter and Shane East, is simply superb. They both bring so much entertainment into their delivery. They gave each character, whether one of the mains or a side character, personality and gumption. That's right, I said gumption, because it abounds in this book.
I honestly did not think I could love Lina and Nord any more than I already did. Lina is an optimist who is free with her affection and fiercely loyal to those she cares about. She has fought hard to be where she is and fought even harder in this installment. Nord has been steadfast in his love and loyalty to Lina. He has supported her and protected her.
Life continues to throw bombs their way and even if it breaks their stride it doesn’t break their spirit. This book sees them travel to parts unknown, well unknown to some and changed for others. When you visit your home and nothing is the same of course you then have to prove yourself! With all the enemies they have accumulated it is time to make some allies.
However, to seal the deal they must perform a magic ritual that could kill them both!
This book was amazing and I couldn’t put it down. I’m eagerly awaiting the next installment since this one was so dang good I couldn’t believe I was at the end.
I received this book in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This review is for the audiobook. I received an #AdvancedListenerCopy of this book in exchange for my honest review. This series just keeps getting better! The world building and history with interconnected characters continues to add more depth to the whole experience. Book 2 ended with a shocking loss, and this story picks up right where it left off. It’s exciting and thrilling as they quite literally fight for their lives. I really enjoy the developing relationships between Nord, Lina, Finley, and Quinn as they learn to work together. In spite of the tragedy and suspense of their current situation they are able to find love and laughter, which is very well written into the story. Quinn and Finley are really intriguing in their snarky banter with enough sexual tension to really make you wonder WHAT IF... We are seeing new worlds and new ways to interact with magic. This story is fun and exciting and definitely delivers the beautifully touching romantic moments along with the sexy times that make your toes curl, all while immersing you in an exciting suspenseful paranormal romance to keep you at the edge of your seat.
Let’s talk about narration… Stella and Shane play off of each other perfectly in duet, so I never struggle to know who is speaking. They both move flawlessly between characters and accents while delivering emotionally charged performances. There are so many possibilities with this world and these characters. I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book!
So many great lines and scenes for all of the characters in this book, I really could not get enough. There was much heartache but also parts that will make your heart swell with love. It also has me on the edge of my seat the entire time! I enjoyed the bit of humor injected into this story, because it had me giggling often at Fin and Quinn's shenanigans. I loved their journey which was pretty crazy and unexpected. Nord made me swoon many times with how he showed his love of Lina. Most especially in Ch 3 when he says, "Fall apart if that is what you need. I will be here to put the pieces back together when you're done." Swoon! The end left me mad, but also like....I need the next book soon! I also can't forget to mention the amazing job Stella Hunter and Shane East did in their performances. They've become these characters for me.
I received an audible copy of this book and just like book 1 & 2, I was thoroughly entranced by Nord and Lina's story. This one picks up right after book 2 ends (which is super sad since I really, really liked her uncle!) And once again the gang is on the move, but now they are being Hunted by not only the Drakes, but the Brotherhood as well... and let's not forget the debt she owes Crombie which he is eager to collect.
They first make their way to the realm where Nords people took refuge centuries ago but they aren't there long. But that was super interesting to read.
Long story short, this book was wonderful and I absolutely love the narrators who play the male and female characters. They do such a wonderful job bringing the story to life.
Lina is starting to come into her own powers! OMG! I was not prepared to jump right back into the action with Lina and Nord. This installment picks up where “Face of Danger” ended with Lina and Nord still hunted with one less enemy. Lina now owes a debt to the fae Crombie that she needs to settle. Nord gets stripped of his powers by the Director. The action-packed storyline’s plot is intense with drama, suspense, magic, love, and family taking this tale to a new level of awareness. The twists and turns will keep you guessing and impatient for the next installment. This series just gets better and better and I highly recommend it. I received a free copy of this book for an honest review
At the beginning of this book my heart breaks for Lina. She vows to get revenge after the tragedy. As they make plans for what is next they need to find a safe place to hide. Where they decide to go will bring back Nord's past.
Lina and Nord have such a bond and in this read it will become stronger and together they are force to be reckoned with. I love seeing more and more of Lina and Nord's past in each book.
I will add I absolutely love the banter between Finley and Quinn. It adds so much to the read.
Another great read that is full of angst, action, suspense, and surprises you won't see coming. Characters that you are invested in and want to see happiness for, however it is an uphill battle for them. And then the Queen of cliffhangers made it one heck of one.
World of danger picks right up where the last book left off. Within the first few pages I had tears in my eyes as I remembered what had happened and imagined all the pain Lina must be feeling. It’s a very emotional but also healing story. Their quest to find the codex continues, bringing them to a place hidden and forgotten by most. The groups courage and capabilities are very much tested along the way. It’s a journey that each of them will reflect upon and gain self introspective. I loved seeing each of them grow throughout this journey and become stronger as a unit. Their new friends are wonderful too. I would love and hope to see them again. The ending left me craving more. I can hardly wait to find out what’s going to happen.
Sliding back into the world of Lina, Nord, Quinn and Finley is like coming home. From page one the action is immediate and the dynamic between the characters is quick and sassy. It reminds me of being with my family for Christmas Eve! The relationship between Lina and Nord is sweet, endearing and smoking hot! Quinn and Finley as the best friends of Lina and Nord respectively, have an undeniable chemistry but act like kindergartener's on the playground. If you've read Meg Anne before, you know that her stories take you on a wild roller coaster ride; if you are new to Meg Anne, hold on the climbs and drops and twists and turns are just beginning.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I stayed up all night listening to this book. I needed to know what was going to happen, and the stakes keep getting higher. The cliffhanger wasn’t as bad as previous ones, but of course, left me wanting more. I’m diving into book 4 today, although I’m told this cliffhanger will hurt.
We see Lina and Nord’s relationship grow from strength to strength. I love them so much. We find out more secrets and their is a fair amount of action and questions to keep you on your toes.
Shane East and Stella Hunter continue to surpass all expectations with this series and how they’re growing with the characters is fabulous. The emotion in this book was palpable in the performances, and I just adore their book on it. The production was brilliant.
